There was numerous selections of thin slices even chicken. The place is huge and carry various selections of draft and bottled beers as well as sake. Love places that have both hot pot and Kbbq! Although we didn't do the hot pot this time around, we enjoyed the KBBQ. The interior is spacious, clean and vibrant. Our very friendly server explained the process of ordering, which was via the tablet at our table. Efficient! We opted for the AYCE KBBQ and once we placed the orders on the tablet, our items gradually started coming out. We really liked the pork belly, red wine meat, cheese corn, short ribs, the rice paper and variety of Banchan. There's also a bar with fruit, dessert and a ton of sauces. One thing I wish they had was an extra grill on the table. Since there's only one, it takes longer to cook the proteins. Also, they don't offer that many veggies in the KBBQ portion- I think they are all on the hot pot menu. The price for the KBBQ is only a few dollars cheaper than the hot pot so I'd suggest getting both. I would def do both if I return. There's a little dessert cup and fresh fruit as well. The banchan was pretty good. Nice assortment of side dishes. The daikon was delicious, I kept going back for more. We were lazy and ordered KBBQ meats via delivery so we can cook the meats at home, and QPOT did not disappoint. Food came quickly via DoorDash and it was all packaged nicely without any spillage. Brisket is an affordable $12/lb and it was very thinly sliced, easy to cook, and tasty! We also got steak and beef belly, which were also nice and reasonably priced, but I think we prefer the brisket and will just get that since it's easier to cook. The sides are also good and very reasonably priced. Each came in a regular sized takeout container practically filled to the top. We got: japchae, potato salad, seaweed salad, radish paper, rice, lettuce, and rice paper. The brisket sauce was quite good too, we added it to sesame oil + salt/pepper and it became a very good tasting sauce. Honestly the pricing is better than if we went to H-Mart or a local butcher to get meats, and we might just order from here if we wanted to DIY KBBQ in the future. We're from out of town and this was the closest KBBQ that popped up so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately it's not for us. BUT there were a lot of people enjoying themselves. It's a hot pot and/or bbq. We opted for just bbq. You order on a pad that is easy enough. With bbq there are no vegetable options except the salad or lettuce leaves. In order to get veggies you have to pay for hot pot. Very disappointed with this. We like onions, mushrooms and bell peppers. Food comes out fast once order is placed on pad. Service overall was fantastic. They were busy but attentive. The feel of the place reminded us of Golden Corral. The vibe and service here is top notch (loved all the throwback hits on their playlist). The staff was very accommodating for my friend who is vegan and allowed her to just have the hotpot. Now for the food - yummy for AYCE! I was especially excited about the Tom Yum broth for my hotpot. Our server even had us try samples when he noticed we were indecisive. Unfortunately, our experience fell short in several areas. The KBBQ menu was quite limited, both in meat selection and side dishes. The appetizers arrived lukewarm at best, and the texture seemed like it had been sitting out for some time. The meat itself was also disappointing as it was tough, unseasoned, and noticeably low quality. To make matters worse, everyone in our group experienced stomach issues afterward, which has never happened to us after KBBQ before. The sauce bar seemed tailored more toward hotpot, which we didn't order but from what we could see, didn't look particularly appealing either. Solid kbbq place! This review is solely based on the kbbq as I havent tried their hot pot option! I would say overall the food was really good here. The meats were brought to us quickly as the ordering system was processed through an iPad. There were some short moments where we would have to ask on the progress of the meats, but other than that, it was overall brought to us in a timely manner. We also came on a Friday night so it was definitely packed and busy. About an hour wait -- so definitely try to put your name on the Yelp waitlist if you can! They have a sauce bar thats included that is self serve. At the sauce bar, there are also some fruits available too. One menu item that stood out to me was their garlic shrimp! Normally, at Kbbq places, their shrimp is unpeeled. However, here, the shrimp was already peeled and ready to eat! I think that was really the star of the diner because they were just sooo good and cooked really fast. Definitely try that out when you come here. The brisket portions were super small for some reason. Even when we'd put in Quantity 3-4 in the iPad, the serving looked the exact same as maybe a Quantity of 1. Probably like 5-6 slices. So we had to keep reordering brisket. I think maybe that is just a picky thing for me, or maybe they like to portion their meat servings because sometimes people over-order which is understandable. This used to be my happy place! Since Covid it seems like the food, service, and cleanliness just gets worse and worse. The servers here don't really know customer service, how to wait on a table, when the proper time to do a grill change is, or really just basic stuff. It pains me to say this. But it's true! With exception to one outstanding server who has provided us such outstanding service that if he is ever working, we will wait to be seated in his section every time, without fail! (His name is Cheon) Anyways, last Sunday was probably our last time going here. The floor has always been so greasy, slippery and just gross to walk on. Sunday was no exception. The tables are also always greasy and utensils the same, but with leftover food from the last person who used it. Drinks are 50/50 that it'll have a weird oil slick look to it. What really ground my gears was the spoiled sesame oil! I usually make a dip of the salt & pepper mixture with sesame oil. When I dipped some meat in it and took a bite, I thought the meat was bad. But then other meat tasted the same, til I realized it was the sesame oil! Ugh, so nasty! Price sounds reasonable so we decided to have dinner here before heading to the concert. A lot of variety of meat from chicken, beef,pork,clams,shrimp, octopus. They have no wagyu or intestines which is a bummer. A lot of choices of soup flavor. We ordered Japanese miso and Thai flavor. The flavor was tasty 5/5. Meat flavor was ok for me. 3/5. I've been here twice and the first time I don't recall anything special that stood out. I will say however this time around the service is pretty bad. The servers aren't attentive nor do they come back with any requests (re-fill water, napkins). There wasn't anyone that picked up our empty trays in the whole duration of us eating there as well. Ok, I finally got to try QPot. This was one of the first combo KBBQ + hotpot in the Bay Area. It was always crowded and super busy. Now, the hype has died down, and there are other restaurants to compete against. We joined the online waitlist on a Saturday around noon, and it said that the wait was only 12 min. The parking lot had a lot of spaces available - thankfully! We walked right in and told them we were on the waitlist. They seated us immediately as it wasn't so crowded. KBBQ is $31.99/person and an additional +$5 to add the hot pot. There is a 2 hour limit to eat. As I said before of this type of restaurant, the cooking can get overwhelming cooking your hot pot and cooking the meats on the bbq grill. Don't get me wrong, it's fun to do. But, sometimes it can be much if you are the one cooking for the whole table. We tried the following... Beef Bulgogi - The was ok. But it was tender. Finger Short Ribs - This was a bit tough and chewy, so you got a good workout on your jaw. I wish it was tenderized more. Galbi Short Ribs - This was good, but a little tougher than usual. I mean, the meat didn't come apart from the bone like most places. Also, on some, they needed to wash the meat better to get rid of the bone chips. Chuck Flap Tail - this was pretty tasty and had a nice beefy flavor to it. It was easy to chew. Spicy Salmon - The fish was marinated in gochujang. The fish was probably a pink salmon, not Atlantic, King, or Coho. I wouldn't order this again. Fresh Pacific Oysters - big and meaty. The grilled up nicely. White Crab - it seemed pretty fresh. Manila and Korean White Clams - good. Most are already parboiled, and you could see the ones that were already opened up. Shitake Mushrooms, Fresh Shitake Mushrooms, Snowpea Leaves, Fish Tofu, A-Choy lettuce, Fried Tofu. All were standard and fresh. Some of the snow pea leaves needed to be checked. Otherwise, it was all good in our hot pot. We didn't get to try their premium brisket, steak, qpot special steak, or any of the pork or pork belly as we had a lot of food already. My mom and wife got the Healthy Herb Soup, and I got the Thai Tom Yum. I liked my soup, but it wasn't anything special. We got the premium lamb and the premium beef. Both were thinly sliced and good. The sauce bar was pretty good with lots of dipping sauces. It also had fresh fruit like watermelon slices and cheesecake slices. Unfortunately, when you order, they do not have half portion options. The ordering kiosk at your table is clunky and angled straight, so it's awkward imo. Nice ambiance, lot of tables and some tables can accommodate a party of 8. Most other places are 6 only. They also have a bar. Bathrooms need some attention. The service was great! Mel took care of us and made sure everything was good. All ordering, especially if needing more broth, was via the table kiosk. The difference at this place was that they give you the soup you originally ordered, unlike most places who just bring you broth regardless of what soup you ordered. We didn't do this, but when we asked another server for more soup, they said to order on the kiosk. Was it possible you could try a different soup base? I wonder. We didn't try it, so we don't know. Generally the wait is never longer than 30 minutes to get seated and service is quick. My favorite is the pork belly and brisket. We also always get a yogurt soju.
