Did not get a good impression for my first time trying KBBQ. Kinda bummed out because I heard the service here is really good but my family and I had a different experience, unfortunately. Our server, Steve, rarely checked in with our table throughout our time there. My whole issue was that we were missing items from our first round of ordering. When I first brought it up to Steve, he told us that some of the items come out a bit slower and reassured us that it would be on our way. No problem. Come to our second round of ordering, we get all of our items except the ones missing from the first round, again. After eating our second round for a bit, I asked Steve again, which led him to ask his food runner for the items (rather then getting it himself?) And then finally, he came back. But with only the salad. He told us that he was waiting for the rice paper to heat up and we were totally fine with that, even though we were pretty much done with most of our food. By the time we got our check, we wanted to ask just one more time to our server. And do you want to know his response was? "Our steamer isn't actually working. I thought my food runner told you." I saw tik tok videos of how good the food was so I thought this place got a better and made a comeback. However, I think this place is mid at most. We got the ayce Korean bbq for lunch and the service was relatively quick. The portions for each order are pretty generous so I'd recommend ordering one of each dish to sample what you like and order more after Beef Brisket (2/5): the beef brisket isn't high quality as expected and it was ok! When we cooked it, it became really soggy which was kinda odd. Finger Short Ribs (3/5): I think the quality of this is ok, but I do like how it was seasoned nicely. Steak (3/5): It was decent, I think the steaks were still a little chewy even when it was cooked at medium rare. Spicy Pork Belly (5/5): I think this was the star of the show out of all the meats we ordered. It was seasoned nicely and it tasted so good! Clams (5/5): This really can't go wrong and it tastes the same at any location. Corn cheese (1/5): I'm not too sure if it's the day I went that was an off day. when we ordered this dish, it was mostly mayo and corn and there was very little to no cheese. Decent all you can eat hot pot and bbq place. We came at 4-5 pm on a Sunday and had to wait a little bit. The food comes out quite quickly though the serving sizes are a bit smaller than other places. We also got a soju slush that was pretty good. They have happy hour for drinks that we just missed while waiting to be seated so definitely recommend checking out the bar while waiting. The service here is okay. The staff is really nice but they are always very busy- during our dinner, they rarely cleared our plates. The ambience is good- cute decor and good music. Came here to eat some great kbbq. Place is run down and it shoes where you sit and the sauce bar. Sauces are hard to reach and you need to be strong to pump sauce to pour out. You grab dishes smell like mildew. I bought a drink from the bar and smelled like food. Usually bars wash their cups in a solution to break down alcohol and any other smell. I asked for a clean glass it smelled like the previous two glasses. That says to me not clean. Then the bathroom had faucets falling apart and the water would come out you had to wiggle. The music was loud hard to talk to people at your table. The service was excellent. Servers hit the bells and whistles but lack of quality control. Dishes are black which hide any residue or smell. We picked up my daughter's friend who was living at some dorms at San Jose State University. Korean AYCE BBQ was the choice and I checked Yelp and chose Q Pot for it's good ratings and being around 4 miles from SJSU. Arriving for lunch we lucked out as the wait was not too long. The servers were good and brought stuff out fairly fast. The portion sizes were nice and they had a nice salad bar area with condiments, sauces and more! We tried the gamut of offerings leaving out chicken and a few pork items. We had beef, pork and beef bellies, steak, brisket etc. Banchan, egg souffle, some soups, japchae and more. I really liked Q Pot due to their good service, help yourself bar, good portions and no throttling. They also changed the grill often. A decent spot for kbbq and hot pot! I went at lunch on a Sunday and the wait time wasn't bad at all. We also joined the waitlist on Yelp when we were close, so that may be why we were able to get seated fast! Love how you can get the best of both worlds. $31.99 for kbbq + $5 more if you want both. The menu is very extensive and has a variety of items. The soup bases were also delicious. I got the spicy tofu soup, and it had a bunch of things added to it as well. The sauce bar was also a plus! The meats and other sides were yummy. And they had the usual faves I tend to get at all kbbq spots when I go! For me, the only downside is the service. Things are ordered through a iPad which is very convenient, but it makes hard to ask for things from an actual server. It was our first time at Q pot, so we didn't know how to control our hot pot heat. Turns out the remotes to control it were on the floor, and we had to figure that out ourselves after at least 10 mins of waiting for our soups to heat up. One of the remotes we had at our table was broken, and we couldn't get a hold of a server to fix it for a while. It was also tough getting a refill on waters. And we never got a grill change once. After paying and leaving, we realized we never got our credit card back afterwards. We had to call Q-Pot later that day and turns out the credit card was left in the register for whatever reason. I'm sure most of the slowness in service came from how overloaded our server was since he seemed to be handling a large amount of tables. And he was a great help whenever we were able to get a hold of him. Overall, Q-Pot is a really nice place to get both kbbq and hot pot especially if you're craving both! I love the variety of items, and the food was definitely yummy! I found this place on Yelp because I wanted KBBQ, but I'm not the biggest fan of Gen. Honestly after coming here, I think that QPOT overall was much better than Gen. The meat quality and flavors are a lot better, but the pork is really similar to the one at Gen. The beef here really stood out, and I would recommend the Galbi. Having the combination of KBBQ and hot pot in one place is super convenient and you can add hot pot for just $5. But, to be honest, I don't love the hot pot here, and there aren't many options for what you can put in it. Overall, I would definitely come here again and get all the beef in the world! read more

I took a person for their first-ever Korean BBQ here and was overall happy with the experience. There is a substantial line around dinner here, so when you come be prepared to wait. After being seated, make sure you check out the sauce/snack bar against the wall near the kitchen. This is easy to miss but very necessary to maximize your enjoyment. When ordering, it is kind of lame how you can only order a few things at a time. I guess this is designed for the restaurant to minimize waste, but the limit is arbitrary and even for two it slows down the dinner unnecessarily. The service overall is okay, a bit slow and nobody will come unless you use the tablet to order. I wouldn't feel compelled to tip highly here. Food quality is good, but again they need to increase the amount you can order at once. I had various side dishes, beef, and pork, and everything was good. Not great but good. Inside it's a bit like a nightclub with everything dark and some crazy lighting. It's a bit loud but not to the extent you can't talk. Bathrooms are decently clean but, um, could be better. Pricing is on the higher side. Parking is tough closeby but there is a large lot. If you like Korean BBQ and you're in the area it's worth a visit. read more

She offered to change the grill pan several times without having to ask. The meats were fine. The portions were decent sized so we didn't have to keep reordering. The corn/cheese thing was terrible. During these Covid times, I'm always curious as to how restaurants will handle their businesses. Glad to see Qpot was able to endure and thrive during these rough times. Had a couple of foodies come from near and far so Qpot was the move as it's AYCE Hotpot and KBBQ (If you decide to do both) What I really like about this place is the sauce bar and the tablet for ordering. Being a group of 6, we had ordered quite a lot so we thought we wouldn't be able to fit everything at our table. Luckily as soon as we placed the first meat on the grill our plates slowly disappeared. As we ordered and they kept coming out, I guess our only disappointment was the Rice and Rice Paper as they kept forgetting about it and or we just didn't get them. Another thing to point out is if you get the crab, you'll have to use the scissors as the opener as they don't have dedicated crackers. But that doesn't stop the servers from coming to check on you every so often :) the last time I was here was on Halloween with my boyfriend and our server was wearing a Naruto Sasuke Cloak (lol sorry I haven't watched Naruto since I was a kid), anyways he was super nice and attentive! There's a sauce bar for you to build your own sauce! I've only had the kbbq here and not the hotpot but the meats are so well marinated and just really freaking good honestly.
