** Visited on Monday, Sept. 16th 2024 Had dinner here with a friend the other day- we did KBBQ only as we were planning to sit and catch up. I haven't been back to QPOT since 2019 and was pretty surprised at the change in the restaurant. The restaurant itself is quite large and has plenty of seating, though I found it slightly difficult to maneuver since the tables are long and split in half to accommodate smaller parties (e.g., my friend and I were on the front end of the table, and a party of 4 were on the other end of the table). There's a sauce bar towards the kitchen area of the restaurant that's quite clean and self-serve. The service here was amazing, our staff members were incredibly kind and made sure to check in on us occasionally. When it comes to ordering, there's an iPad at the end of the table where you're able to order as well as ring for a staff member if you need to. I genuinely feel that if I were to come back, I can anticipate great customer service. OKAY THE FOOD: * This is for KBBQ option only as we did not do hot pot & kbbq :) Considering that there's many other kbbq restaurants available in San Jose, it's a no brainer that QPOT has lasted so long. Though some of the meat quality is alright, there are some cuts that are pretty great for the price you're paying. I also noticed that there's a way you're able to purchase raw cuts to have an at home kbbq which is pretty cool and different from most AYCE kbbq spots. Their side dishes compliment the different meat choices and are plenty. From the different cuts we ordered, my favorites were definitely their pork cheek (jowl), LA galbi, and their brisket. They have crab, wagyu (for an extra charge), a lot of seafood selection. Service was quick. 4 stars is because of the cost. They are pricey. It's been about a year since we've visited. We went there for lunch and all 5 of us got the bbq+hotpot combo. The service was great and variety of ingredients was just how we remembered. Our grill was changed promptly and the iPad order system was awesome with additional items coming out fast! There's one thing that was hard to get over, the floor. It was terribly greasy and slippery through the whole restaurant. From our table to the bathrooms, it was just slippery feeling. Please use a strong degreaser and clean those floors. My entire party of 5 commented how walking with rubber soles felt sketchy. It does detract from the overall experience. read more

Another nice evening at QPot. The place was popping and we got there at 5p and the wait list was already started. Good thing you can do it on the Yelp app too. We had 10 people and they didn't need a reservation. We got seated pretty quickly. You order from a computer pad and they have photos of the items. I love their sauce bar. Most places do not have this option. It's great to flavor your food while cooking or dipping your meats in. Our orders came quick and we immediately got to cooking The pork belly was so fresh. We had to order it twice. They now had the option for premium meats for an extra charge you can get hot pots too but the whole table has to order it. It's a bit over the top if you don't like soup. I love how you get to choose and eat all you can. We were able to bring a cake in and they provided the plates and silverware. For a big party the service charge or tip is added at 20%. First of all, I wanted to say that the service was REALLY good imo especially on a Saturday evening. My friend invited me to his birthday dinner and this was the location he decided on; he made a reservation for 6pm but some delays came up. They were very accommodating and were okay with us pushing our reservation for 7pm instead (we had a group of 10). We arrived, checked in, and it didn't take too long for us to get seated. Despite our big group, our main guy was very kind and kept checking in on us despite the dinner rush. The workers who worked with the tables in our area were very attentive and would appear when we needed a grill change. However, I find fault in some of the food. We decided on doing both bbq and hotpot (a $5 charge which was fine) so it went from $32.99 to $38. We got a few servings of the garlic pork belly (I'm not a huge fan but it was pretty good), some thin meats, bulgogi, udon, some veggies and extra sides. I felt like the thin meats were too tough and hard to eat. Not sure if I'm comparing them correctly, but I thought they were some sort of brisket, like how many KBBQ places have it as a staple. The bulgogi was good though! I was sad to have found a piece of bone in one piece of meat though. For the hotpot, we didn't end up trying any of the meats (if they had some because I couldn't see or browse the menu). I tried the lobster ball, quail egg, and got the spicy tofu soup for my soup. They were all very solid. There was so much tofu in my soup lol and there was also some seafood (shrimp, clam, mussel!) which was a pleasant surprise. I liked the variety of everything but it was hard to access the menu if you're part of the second half of the table away from the tablet to order. I wish there was a system where we could at least scan the menu using a qr code and then tell the person closest to the tablet to help order. I also thought it ended up really pricey? I don't know if I miscalculated or something but our total came out to be about $51 per person which I feel like is a lot for an alright bbq place. I've been a regular for quite some time and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. However, our recent visit was far from satisfactory. Unfortunately, on 8/26/25 we found flies in our water glasses. We brought it to the attention of the staff, but to our dismay, there was no apology offered. While they did replace the water, we felt that the situation wasn't handled appropriately, especially considering we are regulars. A simple apology would have gone a long way. We had asked our server what normally happens in this situation, she responded with "let me ask my manger". The server came back and said "we removed $10 off the bill". That was nice and all but they still failed to apologize. What makes it even better is the manager was the one who helped us at the register, and didn't have a word to say about the situation. We hope this was just an off night for Qpot, but we left feeling disappointed and undervalued as customers. We won't be back after this. read more

QPOT was my first hot pot experience. You have the option of doing just Korean barbecue or hot pot, or doing both for an extra five dollars. Ordering takes place on an iPad, and once you are seated, things come out quite quickly. I wish there was a way to request more water through the iPad, because the servers really only come around to deliver the menu items from the iPad. Because it was my first time, we did both hotpot and kbbq; however, I would recommend sticking with one or the other to allow you to focus on just one. It's a bit overwhelming to keep track of your meat on the grill, as well as your hot pot. Aside from that, it's also a ton of food, and if you have both options, it's a little bit difficult to appreciate each as you're eating. The bulgogi and short rib were delicious; I'd stick with these in the future rather than getting the thicket cuts of meat. For hotpot, the tofu and fish cake with roe were the table favorites. Over the years, Qpot's quality has gotten more better and now it's one of the AYCE kbbq spots I choose to go to! I was craving Korean bbq and the moment my partner asked me where I wanted to go, I had to say Qpot! Qpot offers both kbbq and hotpot. Keep in mind that the whole table must either choose one or both. I usually only choose kbbq but once in a while I'll feel like adding the hotpot option ($5 more). The menu has extensive options to choose from and has recently offered premium meats like Wagyu for an extra $15 per person. I like how there's a kiosk that you can order from. Once the order is in, everything comes out fairly fast. The meat quality is fresh and side dishes are pretty good too! The only side dish we had trouble finishing was the popcorn chicken, as it was a bit too dry. The banchan on the other hand was great, and rarely is there a place that offers every banchan that I like. My favorite is the radish paper. Our waitress was quick on her feet and always came by to check if we needed anything. Every worker who came by always looked out for a grill change and was quick to do so! One of my favorite things about qpot is the sauce bar. There are recommended sauce formulas for you to try or you can create your own. I have not seen another place that offers GREEN TEA SALT - this is my favorite to pair with pork belly or brisket. Ideally a 3.5-4 stars for me as I think about over all experience. Regardless, I'll still come back for a few reasons outlined below and have put together a pro and cons list: Pros: Various food options. You can do either hot pot, kbbq, or both. Big portions. Easy to order off ipad at the far end of table In a place with lots of parking. Servers are nice and for the most part, fairly accommodating. Location is close to me and easy to find (selfish reason) Cons: Wait time is ridiculous and not accurate. Small waiting area and the door causes a big gust of wind. The floors are coated in oil, where people were slipping and sliding around. Big safety hazard. Cleanliness does not seem to be a top priority/turn around time. I recognize clean up takes a long time to flip a table, but when most of the restaurant has dirty tables and no staff is making initiatives to clean, it's not a great look. Booths are also not held in place, so when you get up or move, they slide with you. If you are back to back with someone, spacing can be weird. read more

I more so want to give credit to Jeffrey who was our server this evening for probably paying attention to me looking at why we haven't received our first order in yet. Kudos to you. The lamb this time didn't taste bad. I want to share that the lamb slices for hot pot here seems to be a hit or miss. They have some updates to their menu that is eye catching. I would like to or in a request for beef tongue to be on their hotpot menu. It's so good in soup. Today, I opted in for the spicy Korean soup which is similar to the Korean Sundubu-jjigae, but's it's on a sweeter side here. I miss their milk broth. It was literally the best. I came here recently to celebrate a friend's birthday. This location was off East Capital Expressway in South San Jose. The restaurant immediately reeked of meat and hot pot when I stepped inside the front door and probably as you would expect. When I took a peek around the restaurant before being seated, you will notice a small bar to the left and to the right you will see many tables and booths. There is an individual heating pad(for Hot Pot) and 1 or 2 BBQ gas grills(depending on the table size) for the grilling of your meats. I am very familiar with the concept of an all you can eat either Hot Pot or Korean BBQ or both type of restaurant. Our group choose both. You order your plates of food to cook on a table at each table. There is a condiment bar(sauces and 1 fruit type). Overall, the meat selection and quality is just ok. The enoki mushrooms looked brown(even after 2 orders to see if it would change). I'm not sure I would highly recommend QPot, but I will say for the 2 hour limit, you do get good value here. Parking was easy. We got there early enough, about 5:20-5:30pm on a Friday night, so we got seated fairly quickly. It got busy pretty quick. Tables can be pretty close together, so it does feel a little tight. Food was really good. For some reason though, the spicy options we got weren't that great. Preferred the other flavors. They have a sauce bar area so you can get your sauces and dips. I didn't like it because the second we walked to that area it smelled so strong of cleaning chemicals. The remotes to control your burner felt a little gross and not that clean. Some of the remotes on our table didn't work so it felt like it was stuck on high heat the whole time. Food was good though and it hit the spot. You order your dishes from a pad on the table and it gets sent directly to the kitchen. We didn't seem to wait too long. read more

Went on a weeknight so there was no wait and about 50% of the place was occupied. No issues with the servers and staff, she checked on us often and changed the grill a few times. One of the seats was missing a panel to control the temperature of the hotpot. We only had 3 people, so repositioning was doable. The meat for the bbq was very disappointing, finger and short rib were extremely tough. Couldn't even cut through with the provided scissors so there was no way we could actually chew it. The enoki mushrooms were really yellow and did not look fresh. The rice paper for the kbbq was dry sadly. Fortunately the veggies (watercress, crown daisy, pea shoots) were fresh and green, the kabocha slices had not dried out either. The various banchan provided were decent. Their sauce bar had a lot of choices and I really appreciated the disposable gloves! Sauces are more on the sweet side though. For dessert, they have watermelon slices and two types of precut cake, neither of which I tried so I can't comment. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this spot since there are others in the South Bay area at the same price point with better quality. read more

The meats took forever to come and we were deprived of water for the longest time. They kept forgetting about the meats we ordered for some reason. It ruined the experience because we were waiting at least 30 minutes for our meats. It was also surprisingly really hard to get the attention of any of the workers too. We finally got checked in on by a server and we mentioned we haven't gotten our meats, by that time the kitchen had closed. We didn't get the exact meats we had ordered, rip. I will say that the restaurant is very nice and has a ton of seating, perfect for bigger parties. The sauce bar had a lot of options and recipes if you needed inspiration for your sauce. The tom yum soup base is quite delicious, sour, and spicy. I rate it a 9/10. They have a great selection of ingredients for their hotpot. Waited probably 40-60 minutes only to find out their waitlist system broke and couldn't text people when their tables were ready. Food quality was okay, had regular and premium types meat (for an extra charge). Whoever has the playlist plays old school R&B which was great. Service was also very attentive and fast. You feel a little bit too rushed because after a while they stare you down till you leave or order more food.
