I ordered a veggie bowl and after eating a few bites, I noticed a long strand of hair in the food. I had already scooped some onto a tortilla chip when I saw it, which completely ruined my appetite. I ended up throwing the entire meal away. This was really disappointing, I think that anyone handling food should be wearing proper head coverings, like a scrub cap, to prevent contamination. I had never heard of the Qdoba chain before this visit. But we happened to be nearby and decided to stop by for a quick grab-n-go order. Our orders wound up taking a bit longer than expected, but the people behind the counter were extremely kind and apologetic. When one of the workers overheard my pregnant wife start to grumble about the wait, they very thoughtfully offered her a free cup to get a drink. I opted for the Steak Fajita Quesadilla combo, and really enjoyed the delicious quesadilla! The ingredients were fresh and well stuffed, including a generous amount of guacamole, and the portion size was definitely large. Overall a really great value for our money, and we won't hesitate to come again the next time we find ourselves in the neighborhood! read more

This is better than their competition for sure. I ordered catering for my workplace which included 20 people and the amount of food was just right. They could've gave us a little bit more guacamole and meat but no one complained so that was great. The food was ready when I came to pick up and I was able to pre-pay so everything was pretty seamless. The worker even carried things out for me to my car, which was really nice. One side note, if you order catering, and you bring back the chafing dishes, they will give you a coupon for a free entrée. So if you have two chafing dishes, you get two free entrées. I made use of my free coupon tonight and got a burrito with beef birria and OMG it was so incredibly good. When I came in around 730 the place was not so busy and the staff were extremely friendly. They talked me through while making my burrito, as I explained that I had never been there before, so to my surprise all the toppings were included, including guacamole!!! When I got home, about 15 minutes later, my burrito was still pretty warm and it was humongous! I am still stuffed an hour later. My favorite thing about this place is that the meat is actually super flavorful and there are more choices for salsa toppings. After looking at the menu, I also realized that they give different options such as nachos, which is nice. This place has a pretty cute set up and is colorful and lively. Pretty disappointed in this place. My husband and I drove 45 minutes to eat here bc we had it in an airport once and craved it. They did not have a lot of the items available that my husband wanted, so although my food was ready, we had to wait another 15 minutes, so my food was already cold. When I ate my food it was dry and lacked any moisture or flavor. The meat was hard and the rice was dry. Such a bummer. We won't be back to this location. I went shortly they opened and thought of trying it out and giving it a whirl. I was offered a sample of their Choulo Sweet Spicy chicken protein and it was tasty. Similar to eat the other Mexican eatery, you select your sides and build a bowl and have options like beans, and cheeses and spicy salsas. I did get the Sweet and spicy chicken and I opted for black beans, corn salsas, and lots of lettuce and sprinkles of cheese. About the same price as other eatery but my bowl seemed to lack chicken but other than that was filling. It had lots of fajita pepper, lettuce, brown rice, and beans. I stumbled upon Qdoba's new location at Ygnacio Valley Plaza while running some errands and decided to give it a try. I've seen Qdoba in airports around the country, but I don't think I've seen one in the Bay Area until now. Going along with the "build-it-as-you-like" concept, I ordered a bowl with a base of cilantro rice and grilled steak, and I went crazy with the toppings. I got shredded cheese, pinto beans, guac, pico de gallo, pickled red onions, fresh cilantro, and tortilla strips. The best part is that the toppings (including guac) are included in the price of the meal. The burrito bowl was delicious and filling - my favorite part was the topping of tangy, pickled red onions. Plus, there was a generous serving of steak and guac in my bowl. I will definitely be back to order another burrito bowl soon! read more

The chicken was almost spongy and had very little flavor. The beans tasted like the cheapest version of black beans ever. Like from a white paper label no frills company where the can just say BEANS on it. The peppers and onions were not cut up well or even griddle cooked well. Just seemed like the entire place has taken every cheap route possible to produce a nothing bowl. Rice tasted like it came from a microwave rice packet. Made an online order, food was ready on time, and staff is attentive and friendly. A vegetarian bowl is $9.95 which is a good deal, plenty of food. For the queso lovers they have 2 kinds (regular and spicy). I don't eat chipotle so I can't compare, but I thought everything was fresh and good. I liked the pickled onions and jalapeños to top it off. I would have loved some more lettuce and cilantro, but that's just a personal preference. The salsas aren't my favorite, but overall no real complaints. If I was nearby and hungry I would come back. read more

Welcome Qdoba -- not only the neighborhood but also the Bay Area! This is the first Qdoba in the Bay. I had heard of the chain, but I had never been. My mom tipped me off while she was walking the plaza on Friday that they were having a soft opening, offering free food for all guests. My husband and I each ordered burritos and they gave us a bag of chips and queso as well as a drink. Thank you! Their grand opening was on Monday, and the first 100 guests got free food for a year (which is really one burrito or bowl a month for 12 months)! After I dropped my son off at preschool, I drove by the plaza and noticed only a handful of people were lined up. I decided I would head back after I ate some breakfast. It was close to opening time, and they didn't have 100 people yet, so I called my husband to head over so he could get the offer too! We both look forward to eating there all year long. :) Since we were already there, we decided to get our lunch on opening day. We each got bowls this time which I think will be my go-to move here! I love that they offer free queso and free guacamole! I feel like you can only put so many toppings in a burrito before it won't roll up, but there's no problem with that in a bowl! You can choose your toppings for the bowl, and I opted for Birria both in my bowl and the burrito I had the other day. My husband got the Cholula Hot & Sweet Chicken option both times as well. He said it was really good. I think I might opt to try another protein next time. With some many toppings in my bowl, I think the taste of the birria is lost. They have a wide array of sauces/salsas (think 9 options!) including two different types of queso - which are included free! I love that they have cotija cheese, free sour cream, pickled red onions, and crispy tortilla strips. I decked my bowl out with literally everything and it was really delicious! Very subpar kinda Mexican food. The Mexican rice was not well seasoned and the beans were bland. The chips were stale and the lime flavoring tasted synthetic. For less than $10 I can get a bean and rice burrito with chips, unlimited salsa and a drink down the street at Taqueria extra. Where as I spent $15 for the same thing here and way worse food. This Qdoba location was pretty out of the way. 23 minutes to and 23 minutes from. I went earlier today since I really had a great experience at the Qdoba in Seattle back in 2018. When I walked in, it felt pretty empty. No long lines, and the atmosphere just felt like a graveyard. I could tell the employees weren't going to be friendly at all. When it came time to pick out what I wanted in my burrito, right when I asked for my first topping, the rice, I was looking at the Qdoba app to make sure I got all the ingredients I wanted; I didn't want to order online since I had bad instances with Chipotle giving you very small portions if you order online. So I basically just requested Seasoned Brown Rice instead of Cilantro Lime Rice (since that's what the app describes them), and the employee corrected me and said, "both rice are seasoned". I didn't ask for back talk, I was just requesting the type of rice based on what the app calls it. I showed him on the app that that's how both rice were described on the app. I asked for Citrus Lime Shrimp, and then he asked if I wanted brisket; he misheard or forgot, so I just let him know that it was shrimp. I got all the other ingredients in my burrito: 3-Cheese Queso, Hand-Crafted Guacamole, New warm Mexican Street Corn with creamy elote sauce (not really warm), Pickled Red Onions, Fajita Veggies, Shredded Cheese, Sour Cream, Shredded Romaine Lettuce, Cilantro, Picante Ranch Dressing (Medium). When it came time to pay, even the cashier was unfriendly. When she set up the register for me to pay, she didn't do anything else and left the register and didn't even say, "Have a good day" or anything. I basically had to reach for my receipt and bag and left the restaurant. When I got home, thankfully I ordered a delicious Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme from Taco Bell on the way home. Everything about the burrito was just bland AF. Even the UNSeasoned Brown Rice, which the employee earlier in my review claims both rice were seasoned, was bland. It's no wonder, it makes sense from my initial impressions of the place that the restaurant felt like a graveyard. I really hope the service and the food improves, since I want to give them another chance, even if the drive is out of the way. They've been open for 10 months now, almost a year, and they still haven't improved... Do I have to expect subpar quality if I go again? read more

This place is definitely still a work in progress. I have come a couple times since opening and they're slowly figuring things out with their cook quality and their burrito wrapping. Flavor was definitely lacking on the meat the first time I came here but it's getting noticeably better each time. The service is getting better as the staff is getting experience under their belt. Ladies and Gentlemen, boys, girls, and cute mini Dachshunds, this is the Mexican food place you've been looking for. FINALLY Qdoba has come to NoCal without the need for an Air Force enlistment. Grilled Adobo chicken, grilled steak, and pulled pork are some of the delicious and savory proteins available for your burrito, quesadilla, salad, or taco. And that queso? It's famous for a reason, y'know! Opening day went smoothly for us during the dinner hours. We ordered via the app, picked up the food and ate outside at the tables. Everything was just as I remembered - from the juicy chicken to the salty crispy tortilla chips with queso. My god, how I've missed it all so. The staff were incredibly friendly and I'm hoping for great success so they can expand all over. Look, I love this place. I loved it a decade ago on the East Coast and I love it here and now. Honestly, forget that "other burrito place" - once you try Qdoba, you'll see why I can only assume will be the first of MANY on the area. The food on the line is very fresh and comes with more options than Chipotle. Although My meal was slightly less expensive than would be at Chipotle, some flavors just didn't hit Like I wanted them too. So i heard this place was coming to the Creek... rivaling Chipots...with Mexican Grill as part of their name. Wow It's embarrassing theyre claiming to be Mexican food. The one thing that kept it from 0 stars was the staff. Super friendly and doing their best! Now back to the food.... I went here first time and it was just slop on in a bowl. I had to wait 20 minutes for shrimp and when they came out, they were not grilled. They looked steamed and watery which is NO BUENO!!! The food is over acidic and the meats have no taste. The best thing in my opinion is the guacamole and it is also very sour. Someone there loves to drench everything in lime juice and you can taste it. I sent an email to their regional office and was invited back for more... oh boy....so, Second time. Staff suuuuper nice and helpful. Its about 5:30pm and no customers. Diner time and 0. I look at the food on display. The meats had a hardshell on top from sitting so long. There was no rice! The container was there with a hard crust on the bottom of the pan. Everything looked so sad. I asked for shrimp and they were in this container taking a bath in a jacuzzi of water, oil and butter. The shrimp were pale and looked so NO BUENO!!! When the server attempted to roll my burritz, this wave of liquid came out all over the counter. She picked up the burritz and it was soaked in food juice. She then got a new foil wrapper and rolled it up. The burritz in my opinion is ruined at this point. We wont get into the wifeys order as its pretty much the same. I say this because you are choosing from the same spread. Taste test: probably one of the top 10 worst foods ive had. So sour and bland at the same time. I took 3 bites and had to throw it out. Wifey did not even want it after seeing mine. We were not going to force ourselves to eat this, it was a comp so didnt cost us anything other than the first purchase. Its amazing that they call this Mexican food. I honestly dont think they can beat a taco truck in a showdown. Go there for yourselves, see the meat and if you have any sense of good food... you will leave! Oh and there were these flies buzzing in the lobby which were annoying to say the least. Now these guys were there on my first visit so maybe they're part of the decor? Someone needs to change this franchise around! All of them are sub-standard. Beware they are not afraid to body shame you or make inappropriate comments. I came in on my lunch to order a plain cheese quesadilla. The server proceeded to judge me and asked if I was on a diet. Which is a very inappropriate question to ask anyone. He then pressured me into adding steak and corn salsa. I felt very uncomfortable and pressured to say yes to steak and corn salsa. I sat down and tried the quesadilla and I did not like it. I went back into the restaurant to request a plain cheese, quesadilla, and expressed how uncomfortable the server made me. I told the lady at checkout that he asked if I was on a diet after I asked for my plain quesadilla and she looks at me, then her coworkers and starts laughing at me. I am so disappointed. I absolutely love Qdoba and when I saw one was opening near me, I was beyond excited. This place is so sad. I visited on a Friday evening about 2 hours before close. The rice was crunchy, the beans were soggy, the meat was tough, the pico de gallo was full of water. The employees lacked all energy. There was one sad table inside and a bunch of tables outside in the dark. If this place was given a little more love, it could be great. Put some heaters and lights outside, rotate the food more (or cook less at a time!), get some employees that have some energy and can engage customers, put some music, get a TV, try different tortillas.
