Ordered delivery from here and it was all a smooth process. Food came in a timely fashion and just as I ordered. I ordered chicken lo mein, shrimp fried rice, egg rolls and chicken with vegetables. Everything tasted fresh ans seasoned just enough to not be overpowering which works for me bc I can still add some soy sauce. The only thing I didn't get off to were the egg rolls. Wife, friend and I dined here on Chinese New Year Eve. We had made reservations and were seated promptly on arrival at 6pm. Restaurant is nicely decorated and atmosphere made it easy to talk. Cannot remember all we ordered but it was good for Chinese American fare. As my wife and her friend are Chinese not their favorite. They prefer more authentic Chinese food. The only issue I had was a LONG BLACK HAIR in my steamed white rice bowl. I called waiter over and showed him the hair. He asked what he could do? Well a new bowl of rice for staters. I let it go to see if anything else would happen. Upon reviewing our check there was no discount for the extra hair. Waiter offered nothing extra during or after our meal. A dessert maybe? A fairly cheap Chinese spot! Our first time here for lunch, and it was good. We dined in and there was quite a few people (great social distancing!) We had lunch portions of the Mongolian beef, sesame chicken, and lo mein. It comes with either egg roll or crab puff and a soup. The hot & sour is amazing my boyfriend loved it! The crab puff was literally 100% cream cheese so that's false advertising.. Also the Mongolian beef was a bit different than I'm used to, usually I've had it with long scallions but it was short and small amount. Food was good, the noodles were our favorite. While this usual staple Chinese restaurant, is one you can count on for a good meal, I found it irritating that no chopsticks or plasticware were included in my to go order tonight! I know some of y'all will think I am being trivial, but hey I don't always have extra chopsticks at home. I happen to like eating with chopsticks! Now on to the food I ordered tonight! I got the Sesame Chicken combination plate. I chose steamed rice and the crispy crab puff and hot and sour soup. This is a great deal and is more than filling. The soup could have had more in it than mostly shoe string canned bamboo shoots! The flavor was okay though. This place has officially become our favorite American Chinese restaurant in Houston!! We loved loved our lunch experience here! The lunch specials are served 7 days a week, Monday-Friday 10:30am-4pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am-4pm. It includes your choice of great tasting soup, delicious spring roll or crispy crab puffs (you get 2!), crunchy wonton chips, and hot and fresh entree (big portions) and your choice of fried rice, white rice or brown rice! All for under $11 or $12! Not to mention, we couldn't finish all the food and had leftovers for dinner to take home with! Most other Chinese restaurants charge you extra for brown rice, but not here! I very much appreciate that! I love that they give you wonton chips before the entrees were served, it's so much more fun to have something to munch on while waiting. The service was above and beyond good. Everyone was so attentive and helpful, and they pack up the leftover food for you too. The whole dining experience was perfectly timed with wonton chips first, then soup, and entrees. The decor is quite fancy, and the restrooms are clean and well maintained. I would give 4.5 stars but this application doesn't allow for it. I've now eaten once a week for the last month and only, today, was disappointed in the food. Up to this point, eating General Tso's, Beef Lo Mein, and Spicy Mongolian Beef has been delivered hot (a rarity), packaged well and tasty. Their pumpkin shrimp soup is a must! So today I went for an oldie but a goodie - sweet and sour chicken and asked for some heat in the sauce. Unfortunately what I received was an oily, red, spicy (got what I wanted) sauce that was tasteless and neither sweet or sour. I'd take a pass on this dish. I'd recommend as a better than average Chinese Restaurant and hope you find it the same! read more

Just wow! The food is simply delicious. I like that they serve crispy spring rolls instead of egg rolls. They were perfectly cooked. Not greasy like an egg roll. The crab puffs were tasty. It's been awhile since we've been here, so glad we stopped by. Beautiful, elegant setting, with a pianist playing lovely music for diners. Seated right away at a linen covered table and our waiter came over with menus immediately. I ordered the seafood egg rolls as an appetizer, and my husband got the pumpkin bisque with shrimp and scallops. The bisque comes in a large bowl and is a meal in itself. It is delicious!!!! My egg rolls came out hot, crispy, on a plate with hot mustard, and sweet and sour sauce, on a bed of shredded lettuce. Yum!!! For our entrees, I got the General Tso's chicken with fried rice. My husband got salmon teriyaki with shrimp. That came out so beautifully plated! It was covered with the most delectable teriyaki sauce with onions. My entree was equally delicious, large pieces of white meat chicken, lightly breaded, with a delicious slightly spicy sauce. I would have liked it a bit spicier but it was good. The fried rice was also delicious. There was so much chicken, I got the rest to go, and they put extra fried rice in the to go bag. They boxed and bagged up the leftovers so beautifully. This place was nice. The people were very nice. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed/ busy so we had to put in our order a few times, but the food came out nicely. The appetizers we got were the seafood spring rolls, seafood dumplings, and spareribs. These were all good but the spareribs were just a bit cold. The main dishes were the twice cooked pork and the garlic chicken. These were amazing! They had so much flavor and everything was cooked to perfection! I visited Qin Dynasty Friday and i was utterly disappointed in many levels. Mainly the quality of the food. Hot and sour soup was mediocre, the orange beef as well, they used very low quality beef and the flavor was just average. The entrance to the bathrooms and bathrooms are not well maintained. I had been going there, frequently, for no less than 20 years but I will remove Qin from my regular places to visit. read more

Their hot and sour soup is excellent and served with fried wontons (everything is better with fried wontons. And service is outstanding. Yes, the prices are high for the quantity, but the quality easily justifies it. For dinner, we ordered... - Szechuan dumplings (better elsewhere) - shrimp egg rolls (2 thin ones in an order) - one cup of wonton soup (kind of bland and better at Tan Tan) - one cup of hot and sour soup (must order) - Qin's fried rice - Mongolian beef - Lo mein The total before tip was about $70, which is more than I'm used to dropping for Chinese food. I'm not complaining since quality and service are so great. Just trying to manage your expectations. If you got it like that, then kudos to you. If you're satisfied with Chinatown's food despite the piss poor service, I still suggest you try Qin Dynasty's lunch combos (average $10/combo). Posted hours suggest they open at 11 AM. In a bind, I called on a weekday and asked if they could have the food ready for pick up by 11 (or as soon as possible). "One second..." they said, "we can have it done by 10:45 AM." So disappointing. I remember coming here years ago and really enjoying it. My mom wanted to go out to eat so I brought this place up thinking she would love the more authentic fare and the kids would have some more Americanized choices. First off, customer service was horrible. I'm pretty sure our waitress had better things to do than bother with us. We asked for some chili sauce and some silverware and she went and talked to other staff and hung around the hostess post for awhile. Like okay... you don't want to even pretend like you're so busy and that's why you won't get us the stuff we requested. The food was just bleh. The small wonton soup was one of the worst I've had yet. We also got 2 different chicken dishes. One was supposed to be spicy but it really wasn't (why we asked for chili sauce, which it turns out they didn't have). The chicken with broccoli was okay. Nothing phenomenal but in a sea of mediocrity, it was the best thing we had. We also got sushi and dumplings, both of which were okay but small and really just not worth the money and attitude that our server had. Just a complete let down. read more

We got Peking duck appetizers, sesame chicken, and fish. We had to wait awhile to get our main dishes after the appetizers came out. The food overall was really good. She then took out a piece of blank paper and asked my name, put it down, and then told me it would be 5 minutes. She seemed quite annoyed that we didn't have a reservation. *shrug* So, then less than 30 seconds later as we stood there, she called us to the desk by loudly announcing "Melissa party of 4"... hahaha she was totally just making a point with the writing down of my name. She never looked at the tables to see what sections were available, etc... Once we sat, our service was mediocre. Our water glasses were only refilled when asked. At one point I asked for water and was brought one glass while everyone else's was left empty at the table. The General Tso's chicken was good. The pieces of chicken are HUGE but very good quality. The sauce is sweet and just how I like it. It's the exact same dish as the Sesame Chicken just without the sesame seeds. We also got the fried rice which was good. Our chicken entree, fried rice, and one soda was $30 which seems expensive to me, especially when you factor in the so-so service and snooty hostess/manager. I was a bit underwhelmed by my favorite Chinese takeout this evening. Order wait time was stated to be 10 minutes but turned out to be 28. I decided to also try some steamed veggie dumplings tonight and they were VERY doughy with not that much stuffing :( Also, they're usually great about giving utensils and they didn't the one time I needed them. That's probably being nitpicky though. On the bright side, I have a little cold and the hot and sour soup was exactly what I needed. The entrée (my usual shrimp and scallop combo #23) was tasty too. Used to be a great place. Service now is horrible. Food arrived piecemeal and entire portions for multiple individuals were forgotten. When questioned, after many diners had already finished, the server and hostess refused to allow us to speak to a manager, and insisted upon charging for the forgotten food when it was finally delivered late. We were told as well that the restaurant ownership had changed hands at some point, and the difference in approach is absolutely visible. We used to frequent this establishment for takeout at least once every two weeks, but will not be doing so ever again. read more
