Review is for Thanksgiving dinner for 11--so probably not the most useful review for the masses. Start with the butter garni service. While we were seated an hour late, the prompt arrival of the butter service made up for it. Delicious plate of butter with Maldon salt, radishes, watercress, cornichones, ham, mustard, pickled leeks and toasted bread-- a wonderful way to relax and begin. We pre selected 3 apps, 3 mains and 3 desserts. The steak tartare was a meal in itself. Pate thickly smeared on an ice cold marble plate served with toasted baguette slices and a generous portion of steak tartare. Nice mustard hints and delicious. Next was the Turkey dinner with traditional sides. A vey generous portion of white meat with a little dark, stuffing, mashed, sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts. All tasty, albeit a bit salty. Strip steak was an odd cut. A bit tough and not a NY Strip. Salmon had crispy skin and was very delicious. Desserts were interesting but we were so stuffed. Apple tart sundae was good (deep dish with apples, cinnamon ice cream, lots of whipped cream and small squares of puff pastry) as was the pistachio creme brûlée. The chocolate mousse looked good, but I was too stuffed to try it. The service was beyond excellent. The wine list had perfect choices. All in all a terrific experience. read more

Horrible service , had to wait 2 hours for food , had to keep asking "where's the food". , had to ask for additional drinks. Never again for this upscale restaurant. Manager offered to go boxes after we marched into the restaurant ( sat outside in a pod). Olive Garden probably has better service. Won't be back QB. read more

Good food! Would highly recommend the butter service (the butter was the highlight which was seasoned with Aleppo chili peppers, salt, pepper, and shallots. It came with Jane, leeks, a chorizo spread, and smoked egg plant spread...this could be your meal in itself with drinks. I also had the French Onion soup that was deli soup...stringy cheese with hearty bread soaked in the broth. Spouse got steak frites (I thought it was a little tough when I sampled it), then I got the grilled Branzino...I usually like my grilled fish with a little chat on it and a little on the drier side (so I would have to give the Branzino a 2.5 out of 5 rating). I got the sun choke gratin but I was really stuffed and couldn't really savor the flavors...lol. Overall, we would come back to this establishment...and apparently, there are several other "Quality" restaurants in the area. read more

Lunch at Quality Bistro was perfect. The weather was great and the ambiance of the restaurant was calm, inviting and refreshing. The cocktail I had was the Bistro Spritz which was very light and refreshing. They had me at Prosecco. I wish I would have got some pictures of the fried chicken I ordered. There were 8 large pieces! We made a reservation to eat here and the food was wonderful. I do not like most of the restaurants in Midtown the best food is in other areas of the city but I have to say this is the first restaurant I have absolutely loved in midtown. Yes it's a nice restaurant, but for a nice restaurant in New York this is very reasonably priced. My family and I came here and with 6 people we ordered lots of different dishes on the menu to try. We all ordered different cocktails and they were great! They have a variety of specialty cocktails and it was fun to get to try! For appetizers you have to get the bread and butter. I know it sounds strange but it's the best butter I've ever had! Oysters, tuna tartare, steak tartare, and Caesar salad were all amazing appetizers as well. The tuna tartare was phenomenal. I'm not the biggest fan of raw tuna, but whatever sauce they put with it is amazing and I caught myself eating so much of that dish!! Most of us got steaks for dinner which were great, the honey mustard sauce they do with the steaks was perfect. For desserts we got the pistachio creme brûlée which was the BEST crème brûlée I've ever had!! The cinnamon fresh toast and chocolate mousse were great as well. The food is good here, but there are aspects that need improvement. 1. Why does one always have to play table games? Do they really need to try to seat you closest to the station where the line of servers is standing there like players in front of a goal on a penalty kick? 2. If you ask for bread, the server should not trick you into ordering a $28 bread service which includes stale sourdough toast, a tiny thing of mushed eggplant that was inedible, another sweet chili pepper purée and sliced ham cold cults that were also terrible, some cornichons and a slab of butter. 3. The prices are very high so the entrées should come with some accompaniment. I will say the portion of said entrées is a good size. 4. The service is fair. read more

Probably the 1st time I ever ordered Dover Sole and did not finish it. Too dry and the sauce lacked any flavor. My wife ordered a steak medium rare and got one medium well. No bread service. No salt or pepper on the table and talk about the tables - they were so close I could taste the salad of the person next to me. . This is the 3rd Quality Branded restaurant I have been to if you don't count Smith & Wollensky and I think this is the best. We decided to start with a bistro favorite, escargots à la Bourguignonne. They came in the shell and had a beautiful presentation. It met the requirement for unctuous decadence. After we sopped up the snail butter with our 2 pieces of perfectly toasted bread, we restrained ourselves from ordering more bread to finish up the rest of the garlic butter. We successfully saved ourselves for the main attraction which arrived in about 15-20 minutes already sliced on a platter. The dramatic appearance of the tomahawk rib bone was obscured by the 2 sauce boats of demi-glace and butter and took up most of our small bistro table. It was still impressive and drew the attention of our nearby patrons. As we sat outside, the steak cooled down quickly and the fat globules unappealingly became solidified. At a $165 pour deux, it is definitely a date night statement but can't say it was the best I have ever had. We finished our meal with a beautiful opera cake which could have easily been shared by 4 people. This would have been a great birthday cake for someone but we just had our slices and took the rest home. As this was Wine Week, we had a sparkling rose to start and a Cab for the meal. It was one of the best impromptu dinners we've had in recent memory but if planned better, I would've waited to reserve an available inside table for the sake of a better steak experience. QB is spacious inside so either opt for 1 of the covered outdoor tables or wait when an indoor table is available for a more perfect time. read more

Food was fine. I had the French onion soup and scallops. The scallops were over cooked and grainy. Soup was good and cheesy. Service was awful. No one talked to me for 20 minutes, then a manager came over and asked if I needed something... I ordered a glass of Chardonnay and then 20 minutes later another manager in a suit asked if I "needed something". Very awkward way to put it. I mentioned that a waiter hasn't visited me yet and that I'd like to order. He took my order and I never saw either one again. We came here for a ladies lunch during the week. The ambiance, food, drinks, and service were fantastic. We ordered a salad and crab cakes to share, and I had the branzino as my main. We also ordered the corn creme brûlée on the side which everyone absolutely loved. Everything was delicious! The service was excellent and the ambience was like upscale Vegas. We ordered the escargot as a starter, the pork chop and the scallops as entrées. The escargot was decent, the pork chop was incredibly tough, cooked perfectly, but really hard to chew and not very flavourful. The scallop entree came with three scallops, for $48. They were seared but there was so much sauce I didn't really taste a lot of scallop, which is one of my favorites. Food quality is high on my preferences when eating out and this place was pretty disappointing, strictly from a food quality perspective. read more

Great experience in at Quality Bistro. Started with the butter course which was more than enough for two people or more to split. Tried the prime aged sirloin which was cooked perfectly and split the corn brûlée and Brussels sprouts. Only problem with the evening was that the entrees came out a bit too fast after the butter course. However, the QB staff were extremely accommodating and comped two desserts after we mentioned feeling rushed. Really appreciate that touch and will certainly be coming back. Quality Bistro exudes a five star restaurant in service, decor, food and hospitality. We were lucky enough to get married at this gorgeous restaurant in October. We did a buyout of the entire space for our 90 person party which was coordinated by Denise Bryant, the head of events for the Quality Branded Group. Denise not only helped us plan our 2021 wedding at Quality Bistro, but also helped us reschedule when our wedding was delayed due to Covid in 2020. She's patient, professional, extremely savvy and an absolute delight to work with! Denise's level of detail and professionalism made us feel constantly taken care of, calm and confident in our big day. (It was even better than we had expected and we attributed most of that to her!) The staff at Quality Bistro is second to none. In the month and half since our wedding day, the two things we hear most from our guests are: 1) "the restaurant staff was so attentive that it was like they were reading my mind- I thought to myself maybe I'll get a soda and suddenly out of nowhere a soda appeared" and 2) "that was THE best food I've ever eaten...especially the corn soufflé." We had dreamed about a wedding that embodied chic and classy Manhattan where food was exceptional and the vibe was intimate. Quality Bistro made us feel like a million dollars. I only wish I could re-live this day again and again, but at least butter service and corn soufflé will bring us back to that perfect autumnal Manhattan morning at the best restaurant possible!
