I called AAA for a jump start, and Jonathan's towing came out to my house. He tested the battery and said it was beyond saving, and offered to sell me one of his batteries. When I said my car was still under warranty and I would have Honda replace it, he told me batteries are not covered under new car warranties. In that case I said I would drive my car to Walmart and check the warranty while my car idled in the parking lot. If it was not covered, I would buy a new battery from Walmart. He then said Walmart would sell me a new battery, but not install it. When I said to jumpstart my car and I would work out the details later, he once again tried to sell me one of his batteries. He then hooked up some cables to the car, and "tried" to start it, but said the battery was so far gone it could not even be jump started. I then asked to be towed to the dealership, but he said AAA did not allow towing for just a dead battery so my only real option was purchasing his battery. I sent him on his way and called AAA again. 1. AAA said of course they would tow a car if need be. 2. They sent out a new company who easily jump started the car. 3. I drove it to the dealership who confirmed that if the battery was ruined, they would replace it at no charge. 4.They did a complete test on the battery and it passed with flying colors. It has been driving great since then. 5. And of course, yes, Walmart would have installed the battery if I had needed it.

When I arrived, Assistant Manager Josh Taylor told me no one starts until 8:00 AM. He then looked at my tire and immediately said it could not be repaired and that I needed to purchase a brand new tire for over $300. He also said the tire would not arrive at the dealership until 4:00 PM, and since everyone leaves by 5:00 PM, I would need to come back the following day leaving me to commute on my spare tire. I was frustrated and upset, I decided to get a second opinion elsewhere. I went to Evans Tires, where they repaired the same tire for FREE in less than an hour. That experience at Toyota of Santee made me feel like I was being pushed into an unnecessary sale rather than being honestly helped. As a longtime loyal customer, that is incredibly disappointing. Trust is everything when it comes to vehicle service, and this visit completely damaged that trust. I sincerely hope Toyota of Santee addresses this situation and has a serious conversation with Josh Taylor regarding customer service, professionalism, and accurately advising customers. Since they don't have an answer, I have to continue to drive the car and to see if it would continue to turn on... what sorta solution is that. My previous KIA had a similar issue that didn't start til 5-7 years in. For it to have issues this close to buying it and getting no answers is unacceptable. Manager Arte was rude over the phone and practically hung up on me. Then Service Advisor Craig has been unhelpful and just keeps repeating the same useless phrases. Then, when I went to get a rental, the worker left his personal key in my rental car, and the vehicles weren't even clean and ready to go. I ended up taking a dirty car because the process took so long and I had to leave for work. The only employee with a positive experience has been Aisha the Finance lady.
