arrived late in the evening in DC and staying at a hotel nearby. their advertised hours claimed they were open until 1am. so a weary, hungry, thirsty couple walked from our hotel the two blocks to Quinn's to walk in the door at 11:10 pm. the bartender immediately informed us that last call was 10 minutes ago, but kindly allowed us to order a drink anyways. grateful to get our drink order in, we asked for menus as several patrons sitting at the bar had some tasty looking dishes they were finishing up. but the bartender's terse reply was that the kitchen had already closed and had been closed for some time, making it clear there were no second chances on food. my spouse and i finished our drinks and wandered back to the hotel to dine on whatever snacks they sold at the hotel front desk. both of us wondered why did Quinn's advertise they were open until 1am if there are no drinks or food to be served for 2 hours? read more

Mac 'n cheese was what led me, hubby and our little one to Quinn's one Saturday evening after a walk around the Vietnam memorial. It was dinner time, we were miles from home, and baby girl had a serious craving for the cheesy stuff. From the outside, Quinn's looks every bit the bar that it is, but strangely enough, the vibe was more inviting and family-friendly than its neighbor, Barley Mac. The patio wasn't too crowded and it wasn't loud or run over by the typical bar crowd. So, we grabbed a table outside, and settled in for what turned out a surprisingly lovely dinner. The mac 'n cheese was spot on - bubbly, cheesy, and not one bit greasy. The bacon bits added nice texture and flavor. For a girl (me) who is not a fan of mac 'n cheese, it was kinda perfect. And for a girl (my daughter) who can eat it every day, it was heaven. Now, like I said - Quinn's is a bar so they don't have children's menus (oddly enough though, they have the cutest and sturdiest kiddy sippy cups I've ever seen offered at a restaurant). Which meant the cheesy stuff came in regular adult size - and it was plenty! We shared among the three. We also ordered chicken tenders and fries (which was more fries than chicken), and a steak and cheese that my husband couldn't stop raving about. Everything was fresh and delicious. Even the complimentary popcorn was something special. And so the combination of great food, wonderful service from our server, and a gorgeous clear night of people watching made Quinn's a winner in our books. I'm doing my tour of Rosslyn food and this place is a hidden gem in the area especially for their weekend brunch! Get this, you can buy any reasonably priced entree and get a huge bottle of champagne for $1 (1 per person)!! Honestly that deal can't be beat anywhere else, especially with DC prices. For my entree I got the chicken and waffles which had crispy delicious breading and waffle was fluffy and filling. I couldn't finish it all, but I made a valiant attempt. Their service was great and the servers were attentive, but not overbearing. It's also a sports bar, so plenty of tvs to watch games. It's a South Carolina bar though...but other than that, it's a great place for brunch o the weekends! I can't wait to come back here. read more

Yes, it's just popcorn, but like popcorn, it's all about the seasoning and spices. Well, they have something special, that may be beyond Colonel Sanders 12 herbs and spices. I went to this restaurant with 2 of my friends and we got seating at the bar. The place was very busy but the service was not impacted by this. You get a bucket of free popcorn but they were cold. 4 stars was the average when I wrote this review and it's exactly right. Good burger on a Thursday (1/2 price burgers) and decent pours off the draft. Servers were energetic. I've been a regular at Quinn's and have experienced a lot of staff turnover in the past few years. Quinn's is in a constant state of disrepair--TVs may or may not work, bathrooms are an olfactive challenge--yet some of us continue to frequent it for the wonderful community members who convene there. The food is okay but overpriced compared to other establishments in the area. They've recently added pizza, which is overly doughy and, frankly, not good. How do you mess up pizza? The mixed drinks are decent, depending on who is bartending. A couple of the current bartenders (Brandy and Greg) are solid. A newer bartender, Susan, always appears miserable, looking chronically depressed and dour. She obviously doesn't want to work at Quinn's, can't mix a drink, routinely ignores customers, and focuses only on her "friends." Susan is dismissive of customers' needs, sulks, and scowls at customers from a distance. Quinn's would do better not to hire staff who are aloof, amateurish, self-absorbed, and treat customers with disdain. This is a serious turnoff to those of us who frequent and pay with our hard-earned money for even a modicum of decent service. In the past, Quinn's had many fantastic bartenders and servers who cared about their patrons and the community. Most of them left, claiming they were not paid and their tips were stolen. I can forgive a lot with a neighborhood establishment--dirty, disrepair, overpriced, mediocre food and drink, but I can't overlook disrespectful and unprofessional service. I'll take my business elsewhere until they find better staff. Management should take note... read more

This is a pretty good sports bar out in the Rosslyn area. It's a fairly energetic spot with a patio outside, and inside vibrant walls, plenty of TV's, and a long bar that extends throughout the venue. I went on a football Sunday so the place was lively and wall to wall packed with customers so I'd definitely advise getting there at least an hour before gametime to guarantee securing a good spot to sit. Service was decent given the amount of people at the bar but there were at least enough bartenders/servers to handle the load. They offer your typical bar food wings that come in about 11 different flavors, burgers, chicken sandwiches, tacos, and bbq ribs with prices ranging between $11-$25. On Sundays they offer a brunch menu which has a few additional items like French toast sticks, breakfast sandwiches, and omelettes in which you can also get a bottle of champagne for $5 with the order of an entree (the bottle is $15 without). I went with the steak and cheese sandwich which comes with your choice of fries, tots, or a salad and the bottle of champagne. The sandwich took a little while to come given how busy they were but it was solid not too greasy and a good portion size as well. So if you need a cool little spot to go catch a game at I'd certainly recommend giving them a try. read more

My black friend and I (Asian) went for brunch here on Saturday , November 9th, 2024. We were asked to prepay/pre-authorize for our meals before we could place our orders. Even after I told the server that I have a gift card and cash, she told me that without pre-charging my credit card, she could not take my orders. At first I thought it was standard practice but after talking to two other customers (who were leaving the bar) they said they didn't have to prepay for their meals. The bartenders told me that it was company's policy and I could find the policy online. I checked when I got home and there was no such policy. read more

We were promptly seated and our server brought out some fresh popcorn. Yum! We ordered the corned beef hash and breakfast burger. The corned beef hash had very little corned beef, but there were plenty of delicious potatoes. The breakfast burger was tasty and had a bunch of fries. To finish off the meal, we had the brownie with a scoop of ice cream. It was fine, but I like a more fudge type brownie. Picked this place since our daughter's boyfriend's name is Quinn. Weird reason, but whatever. We went there after touring the Arlington National Cemetery. It's very close by and easy to get to. Adam the bartender was super friendly and helpful. They serve this great and uniquely seasoned popcorn! We had the Reuben and it was divine. Perfectly grilled thick cut rye bread, real turkey (not like deli lunch meat), and the Swiss was perfectly melted and the sauerkraut and 1000 island dressing was phenomenal. Two word time out here: JELLO SHOTS!! They're a specialty and for good reason- down the hatch!! Moving on- we also had the hot dog which was pretty epic even for a hot dog. Great service, cheap drinks, OK food, and an interestingly disgusting take on hygiene. The best part of Quinn's is the friendly service. I've been here several times and from the first visit felt like a regular. It's a great place to drink beer, chat with friends, drink beer, watch some sports and maybe drink some beer. They even throw in some free seasoned popcorn that's a nice accompaniment to, say, beer. Just don't eat too much or you'll get sick. Don't ask how I know. My limited experience to their prepared food is limited to their super nachos. They look a lot better than they taste and there is a lot of them so they're good to share with a lot of people and pair well with... yes, beer. What kind of put me off was when I went to one of their several unisex restrooms. Right there, sitting next to the toilet, was a bowl of (individually wrapped) mints. Anybody who's studied restroom fluid dynamics will tell you that bits of "what goes in the toilet" wind up circulating around the room. In this case some of those bits will transfer to the mint wrappers and then to the hands of anyone who is foolish enough to take them. So, when the otherwise friendly server drops off your order, imagine they just handled a couple of those mints before picking up your plate. I've mentioned this to Quinn's Management and they don't seem to be concerned. read more

Every time we come to DC, we stay in Arlington and always, always, always come to this spot. So many drunken memories were rehashed over brunch here, the brunch special here is awesome, the staff here are always attentive (and even remembered us, even after a 6-month period ), the popcorn is mouth-watering, and my go-to the "BALT", has never failed me. My friends have always enjoyed their food (with the exception of one fish taco incident-it was simply too fishy). The drink specials here are clutch, and we will continue coming here. read more

I would love to like this place. It's in a great Rosslyn walkable area. There are big screens playing sports and the music is at the just right volume. The service is AMAZING. The waitress with the purple hair (wish that I could remember her name) is awesome. I had a signature drink, the Killer Cocktail, in a "souvenir" plastic cup (the cup was a plastic tumbler and not special). The drink was very tasty. BF had the margarita, which he liked. We had the mega nachos. They are really tasty. They were too much for two people, but we really did try. At this point, I'm loving the place and thinking that it could be our regular bar. I can see meeting friends and hanging out. Here's the bad part...I go the the restroom. Yuk! It's not particularly dirty...but...there is a huge bowl of individually wrapped mints. I didn't say anything, because I'm a bit tipsy and it's time to go home. But, the next day, I called and I was told that many restaurants offer mints in their bathrooms (the subtext is your opinion is stupid and we're not changing). We eat out a lot and I've circled the sun quite a few times. I have NEVER seen this. This is a decision that reflects on possibly poor sanitary choices by the restaurant management...which makes me wonder...what else is lurking? So, I'm out. Nope.
