Giant Biscuit with Honey Butter- lighting doesn't do it justice
    Katrina M.

We sat outside since it was a beautiful day, so my pictures have a red tint from the umbrellas and didn't get to show off how good it really was. Our waitress was very sweet and patient with us as we ordered. I got the pierogi bowl of goodness which was delish. It is definitely a heavy dish so consider that, but I enjoyed it. The giant biscuit with honey butter is also a must order. It may not look that crazy, but you just have to taste it!

Came here for a Kamala Harris event in the summer, and the vibe was SO cool! Sat at the bar for quite awhile, dishing with the friendly, awesome staff. Didn't have food, but everything we saw around us looked great. Hold that thought, we'll come back for some of that! After we repaired to the outdoor area on Jarvis, it was such a great, warm neighborhood feel. They've closed part of the street off (YAY, bike friendly) and put more booths and such. Really a great vibe up here - I'll be back.

    Omelette of the Week

We came for Sunday brunch. I was worried it would be loud, but I was happy that while there are several TV's on the noise level wasn't bad. We started with mimosa, which are served in large glasses for $7. A total surprise which we loved. We had the omelette of the week, the large biscuit, the potato pancakes and the huevos rancheros. The service was super good and we were amazed the food came out so quickly. The portion sizes are monstrous. OMG. The omelette easily ad 3 maybe 4 eggs. It wa fluffy and folded into it was bratwurst slices and diced peppers and onions with a cheese sauce and crumbled bacon and more bratwurst slices. The potato cakes were wonderful and there were two large cakes. The flavors were wonderful with the giardinere really made it special. Nice and crispy. The huevos was on two tortillas each covered with refried beans, guacamole, nice fried egg and pico di gallo. The biscuit was huge as well. We'll definitely be back.

I'd give 3.5/5. Pretty standard bar food. I can't complain as the taste was pretty decent. Nothing crazy, but I'd consider coming back.

I've been here several times on the past few weeks and have discovered my new favorite neighborhood spot Dinner, brunch or just drinks The bartenders are fantastic and can't forget the amazing staff Our favorite waiter is Will ! He was the best and made us want to keep coming back!

I was there for the first time yesterday (9/6/25) at 6:30pm (check #63). The hostess was rude, unfriendly, and had an angry demeanor. That was good service in comparison to the waitress, who was worse and just awful! She begrudgingly took our order and I felt unwelcome, uncomfortable, and eager to leave. I got fried pickles and a beer and decided to have dinner elsewhere. I tend to tip at least 15% when service is mediocre. This waitress got an undeserving $2 tip and even that was too much. I will not be coming back to this place. Fuck that attitude!

My daughter and I went here for her 21st birthday today. We had been here before and the food and staff were so amazing, this is the first place she wanted to go on her special day. When they found out it was her 21st, they did her UP! They treated her like a queen and the staff and other patrons bought her shots and food the entire time we were there. We cannot recommend this place enough for the food, customer service, and atmosphere. Please come support this local business, and experience for yourselves the amazing time we had. 5 stars R Public House!!!

This is my first time coming to this part of Rogers Park in a long time. I was surprised to see the local shops have blocked off Jarvis street and created a really nice outdoor patio. I came here for happy hour cause I needed something quick to eat. I ordered a house red wine and the Happy Hour burger. The burger came out super quick. The service was great, and the music was awesome. I plan to go back to try their other menu items.

Cool little neighborhood bar and grill located by the Jarvis station with good drinks and food. It's a place that can get crowded, but has a nice patio. R Public House is one of the places to go as soon as you get off at this CTA station. A lot of common bar food and some not as much. There's a good amount of healthy options. After doing a few things around here, we came in for drinks and also ended up getting food. It's about $12 or more for one of the better cocktails, so prices are the only complaint about here. The most interesting one was the Cinnamon Mule. It sounded good and it was certainly. This was made with Cock N Bull ginger beer, Dashfire cinnamon bitters, and whiskey. It had a bite. The food sounded too good to pass up. Each of us got the vegan friendly option, the Impossible Burger. It's $17, which was the only thing I didn't like. This was a pretty big burger, so it made up for it mostly. For those traveling by the CTA trains, get off at Jarvis. It's just across the street. The parking sucks, making it a good idea using the public transportation.

Awesome burger! Definitely one of the best I've had in recent memory. The price is a little steep, but you won't be hungry afterwards. Each burger is thick, comes with generous toppings, and pairs well with fries. Orders seem to come quickly, too. There's also a good beer selection here for those who enjoy alcohol with their burger. If the weather is nice, it's a great feeling to have a beer out in the patio.

Can you bring children to this restaurant?

Yes you can. We do not have a children’s menu. But there are plenty of smaller options for them.

No more brunch delivery? Absolutely loved the scotch egg and biscuits and gravy.

Bob we are still doing delivery for brunch. You can find it at rpublichouse.square.site. Please let us know if there is no delivery available this weekend. Cheers

Is the outdoor area still dog friendly? I have a young pup, that I want to bring with a small group.

Yes we are. We have switched to winter hours so we are open Thursday and Friday 3-8, Saturday 11-8 and Sunday 11-2. Can’t wait to meet the pup.

    Is the patio dog friendly?

    Yes it is!

We Then Respectfully Asked The Guests At The Nearby Table Whether They Were Using The Chair, And They Kindly Confirmed That They Were Not. We Moved It To Our Table Without Disrupting Anyone, And The Waitress Did Not Raise Any Concern Afterward. That Made The Initial Refusal Especially Frustrating. It Was Also A Sunday Evening When The Venue Was Not Crowded At All. After The Initial Interaction, Our Server Never Came Back To Check On Our Table Or Ask Whether We Wanted To Order Additional Drinks. The Bartender Eventually Had To Come Out From Behind The Bar To See If We Needed Anything. For A Group Of Five, That Level Of Attentiveness Was Disappointing. A Venue That Promotes Itself As Welcoming And Accommodating Should Be Prepared To Make Basic Seating Adjustments For Guests With Mobility, Injury, Or Back-Related Concerns And Should Provide Consistent Service Throughout The Visit. I doubt anyone leaves feeling less jolly than they did going in. On this visit, I started with the After Word to drink. It was light-bodied, not at all too sweet, and possibly went down *too* easily. We split the short rib poutine and I can't think of a better dish to get you through the winter. The meat absolutely melted in the mouth and the cheese was abundant and rich. Would order again in a heartbeat! We also tried the alligator bites as a seasonal special. I'd not had alligator before, but they were super crispy and spicy with an addictive gochujang sauce. It really does taste like chicken. If you've ever wanted to try alligator, this is the place to do it. For the main event, I opted for the red beans and rice hand pie. It came with a light, citrus salad and delicious hand cut fries with 3 dipping sauces, which were very fun to try. I loved the buttery pie crust but the filling tasty very tomato forward- I was missing the heat of a traditional red beans & rice and wished there was more seasoning. Still good. As usual, the portions were generous for the price and we left with leftovers. Absolutely recommend making the trek over here to give B&B a try, and will be back soon!

I ordered the Wolf Burger, which is a whopping three-patty burger. That first bite was juicy and pure bliss--a total explosion of great flavors. It was a little messy (like all burgers with an egg), but the extra liquid was perfect for balancing the density of such a meaty burger. The soft bun soaked in a lot of those juices with each bite, intensifying the flavor as I ate more. The fries were thin and on the greasier side--not my personal favorite, but they worked alright as a vehicle for the sauce. Speaking of which, the chili aioli served with the fries was fantastic. We also got the mac and cheese, which hit a great balance between rich and creamy without feeling excessively wet. The boat it came in was a bit small, making it a little messy to scoop out with the serving spoon, but it was soooo good.
