I have waited several months to write this review, as I usually do with new restaurants. I'm very happy to report that my opinion of Rabano has not changed. The food is delicious, the prices are extremely reasonable, friendly service, local business, I can't say enough. I do usually stick to only about four items on the menu, but they are always winners, so why not? I have noticed that some restaurants, after being open for a while, start to raise their prices (which is understandable), but they lower their portion size. Rabano is still young, and this could still conceivably happen in the future. But, until then, take this five star review and keep up the good work! read more

Let me preface this by saying I rarely review. The establishment had to be either really disappointing or extremely amazing, and it this case amazing is the word I would use to describe Rabano. The moment you walk in you get that new school cool vibe from the modern decor and friendly staff. Everything was extremely clean and the menu was easy to decipher. You can order from a cashier but they also have iPads that you can order from as well if you're paying with card. Now let's get down to the food. I have eaten at restaurants of iron chefs, eaten across the globe and I have to say Rabano competes with the best of them at a fraction of the price. I had the El Koreano with the edamame won tons and the white coconut milk tea. The won tons were perfectly crispy and packed full of flavor. I am not the biggest fan of coconut, but at the recommendation of the staff (one of their best sellers) I partook. My bias plus the fact that I am kind of a tea/boba snob I wasn't expecting too much, but I was so very wrong. The tea had a perfect consistency and the coconut was sweet without being overpowering. This will be my go to drink for every future visit, it's honestly that good. Now for the Koreano... The ancient grains were a lovely counterbalance to the house made kimchi and bak choy. The sauce gave a great additional flavor to the tender, perfectly cooked steak. It was one of those meals you finish and find sorrow in the fact that there isn't any left. If you are in the area this place is a must try. The chefs create healthy, delicious food made with careful thought and love. I personally plan on making the trek from the 626 on a monthly basis just to eat at Rabano. 10/10 will definitely be back again. read more

It truly represents the diversity of So. Cal flavors from so many cuisines presented in a healthy way. You can order at a tablet or at the counter with a live human. There are about 7 tables inside and a few bistro tables out front. The menu is pretty comprehensive. Apps, soups, wraps, sandwiches, bowls, and salads. White rice, ancient grains brown rice, quinoa, mixed greens salad and choose your protein. Bowls range from Korean Beef or Chicken, Pork Belly Knockout (lemongrass with sweet miso glaze), Lechon Cubano pulled pork plate, Beef Lomo Saltado, Thai Chicken Curry, are just some of the few globally inspired options. You want more rice, less rice, more veggies, less veggies, you can specify on the tablet. I had the ahi tuna chimichurri special last month. Wow! Amazing. The tabouleh lettuce wraps are good but more quinoa based instead of traditional parsley based. I love their vegetable soup, it's chock full of natural flavors from all the vegetables. I stopped by Rabano today for lunch. The place was small but very clean with a small indoor seating area. I ordered a veggi burger with bbq and catchup on the side. I received my food with no sauces on the side which I caught before heading back to work. The veggi burger was tasty but for almost $15 dollars, I expected the burger to be larger. My order was taken by a young guy who was very nice and answered all my questions about several menu items. My only complaint was with the female front counter staff. Not one smile, not one pleasant greeting to a single customer the whole time I waited for my food. I did get some serious negative attitude when I told them that I did not receive any ketchup or bbq sauce. That was a real turn off which I don't want to deal with again. I've been driving past this place everyday on my commute and finally stopped in today for lunch. I got the La Bamba Super Bowl with Ancient grains ($9) and an unsweetened Blueberry Jasmine iced tea (16oz. $2.50.) And my minion ordered the kid's teriyaki chicken bowl with a raspberry soda ($6.) It was SO good and the prices were incredible. The raspberry soda was made with fresh raspberries, organic sugar, and soda water. The portions were perfect, I wanted to eat more but felt full. So, touché. You can order at the register or on one of three iPads with photos of the dishes. I'm going to be coming back there as much as possible. It had kind of a coffee shop feel, like I wouldn't mind studying there. They have teas, bobas, smoothies, salads, sandwiches, bowls, etc. Organic where possible, all sustainable. They even have outlets under the benches between tables so you can plug in while you eat. This place is legit. The owners were there, chatting with customers and recommending popular dishes. Just really bad service. Ordered online, came at the time it was supposed to be ready, and they hadn't even looked at our order yet when we arrived. The girl behind the counter said "well that sucks", and then walked away. We waited an additional 20ish minutes, just to find out our order was sitting behind the counter, and noone called our name (despite asking 5 min earlier and being received with annoyance that we asked again). The food here is unbelievably good! My boyfriend and I had driven past a couple times since we workout nearby and had been wanting to try it. So glad we finally did! I ordered the La Bamba bowl with chicken. I love the variety of options they give you which is to add either grains, white rice, or half greens with either. It's topped with a vegan cashew sauce, which I appreciate since I don't eat dairy. One of the owners Fernando came over to our table to ask us about the food and he was soo friendly! He told us a little about the history of the restaurant which was interesting and he was very easy to talk to. He also told us that they don't use any preservatives or artificial flavorings and you can definitely taste the difference--the food is phenomenal. As someone with many food restrictions it is so refreshing to have a place like Rabano nearby. We will definitely be coming back soon! read more

Great customer service! We love new spots that pay attention to detail! First thing is first we have a 3 year old that loves to eat clean food she will always pass on fried over processed food! She had chicken and broccoli, finished her plate it was a good size too! I had the curry with grains awesome just as good as the Thai restaurant I frequent! Went there for lunch with my husband and sister. Started to order on the ipad near the entrance. Put in most of the order and then my sister tried to order Gogi tacos. Comes with two, choice of chicken or steak. She wanted one of each. Can't do that with the app so we canceled and ordered again at the register. Went to sit outside and realized we forgot one item. Went back to add it and the staff person asked us what our order number was. We weren't given a number. He asked what name and we said we weren't asked for a name. He figured out which order was ours eventually. Needless to say, a very confusing process. Food came out one item at a time and my sister's tacos were cold.
