I'm kind of a Chili's type of guy. You know, heavy salt, not alot of flavor, but this place BLEW me away. Amazing tastes and has converted me into someone that actually likes taste on food. Good staff, but ordering is a little wonky for an older gentleman. I'm sure the 20 somethings love it but i'm more old school, so that takes some getting used to, but the food is AMAZING. read more

Literally the freshest, most delicious food in the Southbay, hands down. I defy anyone to find a better Chinese Chicken Salad. The Sustainable Salmon Bowl is better than any fine dining restaurant I have ever been to. And not expensive! A salad with salmon is $20+ anyplace else and nowhere near as good. Foods great. Service is terrible. Been many times, and service has consistently been very bad both over the phone and in person. Employees are unenthused and act annoyed when ordering. It's good food don't get me wrong, but service is horrible. Seems they can't handle busy days and the lunch rush. I asked for more sauce for tacos I had order since it barely had any, and they were charging an additional $1.50 just for sauce! The owners seem to be present and are pretty hands off as their staff stand around and don't really have a good process to serve some of the surges of customers they get. I want to like this place but have to put it in the just mehhh category. I've been three times now and each time I've been a little disappointed. I've ordered the lechon cubano (kinda dry), la bamba (needed more flavor, I had to cover it in sriracha to really enjoy it) and the showstopper burger (actually pretty good but they forgot the apple which was the main reason I ordered it). The food is just ok and not really helped by the fact that the waits are crazy! I waited over 30 minutes for my burger today only to get home and realize the order was incorrect. I understand that they are busy but I work in an extremely busy restaurant and would never make a guest wait 30 minutes for a burger without some acknowledgment or apology. Again, I want to like it because there aren't many similar options around the area, but I'm just not sure if I'll be back. read more

Ordered the Green Earth burger, very tasty. Usually I need extra salt or some sauce on burgers but this was delicious I only put sriracha on it and finished it!! Always passed by this place and finally decided to give it a try. I ordered the Peruvian saltado bowl with carnitas & the edamame wontons and the flavors were so fresh & ahhh-mazing... like a party in your mouth! My mom ordered the El Koreano bowl & loved it also. My only critique would be that when a drink is ordered (online), it shouldn't be made until the customer gets there because I could tell my coconut milk tea boba had the potential to taste really good, but it was very watered down, even when I got there to pick up my order right on time. Seems like it was sitting there for a while, but other than that, this place will def be one of my go-to's when eating out to eat. Can't wait to try other items! read more

Nice clean looking place. I placed a takeout order and was told over the phone the card machine wasn't working and is down for the day. So I would have to pay cash. Fine. Headed to the bank to get cash. I Ordered the fries plain and some tofu tacos. I get there, low and behold the card machine is working. The cashier I would assume is a young high school student. Wished he was more aware and attentive as I waited 5 minutes for him to locate my order that was sitting right in front of him on the counter. Paid for my food and left. Upon getting home and inspecting the food, fries had cheese on it (lactose) and tacos were made like someone just threw a bunch of toppings on a Tortilla and wrapped it with foil. I may or may not be back. I don't know, maybe a few years for a second shot. Food was okay. Didn't wow me. read more

Normally I would give this establishment 5 stars but unfortunately today was the worst service I've had here, and I bet if Fernando was present things would have ran more smoothly. I went in with my two cousins and we ordered separately. We got an appetizer which came before our food today (which never happens). Two sandwiches and a bowl. The sandwiches came out but no bowl. We waited 20 minutes!!! The bowl was on the same ticket as the appetizer. When we asked no one knew what happened to the bowl. It hadn't been made. When we asked for a refund no one knew how to process one!!! Crazy. Then they only refunded us for the bowl and not the entire check to make up for the inconvenience. Out of at least 6 of the young workers who were on their phones you'd think one of them would know how to handle a problem and create a solution for the customer. So disappointing. read more

Every single thing on their menu that my husband and I have tried has been delicious. We live close by and eat here at least once or twice a week... and if we didn't live so close, we'd be driving to eat here! Our favorites include the mucho mojo sandwich, Chinese chicken salad, pork belly knockout, lechon cubano... Rabano fries... and their drinks are super great too!!! The mix of ingredients (which are all incredibly fresh) in each dish is really inspiring. Some ingredients I would not have ever thought to put together and I am so pleasantly surprised with each and every bite! We can't sing enough praises, we've waited years for Chong's to become Rabano and it was so worth the wait (but we still miss Chong's!). Fantastic food....very creative menu. Cuban-Peruvian-Asian fusion. Friendly staff and ownership. My meal was flavorful, satisfying and had a very appealing presentation....healthy locally sourced food. Vegan, gluten free, vegetarian friendly...but also many protein choices for us carnivores. All boxes checked. Had the Koreano (angus steak) over the quinoa rice only $11!!!...also had the iced white tea coconut Soba....delicious...can't wait to go back. I can't think of another place where you get such delicious healthy food at such a high level of quality, with great portions all at such reasonable prices. A winner. read more

I am giving 5 stars first based on the food then the menu then the flexibility of the menu then and not least the staff. Not only do they have vegetarian, gluten free, and omnivore options they allow and encourage you to customize any dish to suit your dietary as well as hankering needs and desires. I went there and ordered the La Bamba Bowl with chicken and white rice. If this is your first time going there, or if you're not sure what to order, you can't go wrong with the La Bamba Bowl. Everything is usually great, but this time however, there was a slight problem that was quickly resolved beyond my expectations. The point I'd like to make is that when you eat at Rabano, don't be afraid to speak up if you're not 100% satisfied because this is the type of place that will happily make it right for you and immediately take care of any problems so you're guaranteed a good experience. The food is so great, seriously it's amazing. BUT I've been here countless times, as a customer for over a year, and maybe twice they got my order right. I always get the same thing.. I always ask for no onions, tomatoes, or cilantro, and except for those 2 times last year, they put all of those things on it. If I ask for extra sauce, I don't receive that either. Nervous that what if someone has some sort of allergy, will they still put all of those things on? Could become a problem, and luckily it's just preference for me, but it's become annoying! read more

I had to drop my review just from their service alone. The food is great but they have long waits, unorganized, doesn't pick up phones. If they're busy,they will take their phones off line and will leave off for hours at a time. You place an order online for pickup and you can get there and wait an hour!!! This place is super popular but it's poorly organized. The problem is they tell you 20 minutes and your waiting an hour. They need to get their act together. This has happened to us several times. They need to communicate better or hire people that know what they're doing. Each time it's a hit or a miss. I wish it was better because the food is good and close to our house. Awesome ambiance and restaurant. There are plug ins for laptops or phones under the benches and a huge menu. We got handcrafted sodas and the Lechon Cubano, La Bamba with tofu, and Pork Belly Knockout. It is perfect for everyone, from vegans to people like my husband who love meat. So disappointed ... Parking: lot was full. I would have gone to another lunch place, however I told my work friends I was going to Rabano and offered to bring back lunch for them so I had to place one other person's order. I had to park next door in another lot. I don't know if that was permitted so I ordered our food to go. Menu: looked good! Their soup of the day ingredients weren't listed. I asked the manager, but the manager didn't know even the main ingredients so I opted for something else instead. When my order arrived, the main ingredients didn't seem to match what was listed on the menu. If you have food allergies or intolerances, this is a big concern. Wait time: there was no line, however it took almost 30 minutes for our order to be ready! The order was only for 2 people. This is a long time for any restaurant let alone a fast-food style restaurant (and my arrival time was in between lunch and dinner ... not busy). We only work about 4 blocks away but barely had time to eat our food before our lunch hour was over. Food: I ordered a hamburger and it was uncooked in the center! I took a late lunch and was so hungry, but it was inedible (my coworker agreed). Their website even states that raw or undercooked meats ... may increase your risk of foodborne illness. I ate the side salad, however it was so small it didn't really help. Now I can't eat until dinner time (after work). The manager said I could come and pick up another hamburger ... I couldn't take the additional 45 minutes off of work, so she refunded the money ($13 for a hamburger + small side salad ... lettuce type greens and 2 radish slices). The manager apologized, but seemed to act in an unapologetic manner and stated that Rabano cooks their hamburgers "medium rare" (also not listed on their menu) and if I would like it well done I should let them know (which the manager knew was not the case as I had explained). I just looked on the CDC website (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) www.cdc.gov and the website states, "Hamburgers cooked rare or medium-rare are undercooked." Very bad experience and don't plan on trying again. read more

The food was excellent. The reasons not five stars is mainly the ordering system. Everyone around us in the immediate area had not been there before, took a little time but we all figured it out together. Thinking about it I guess another reason would be the staff, not overly friendly and one unsmiling guy at the counter helped me but never uttered a word, not one sound. Over priced and over spiced. I ate there for the first and last time. I ordered a wrap which came without a wrap, and I was told to use some lettuce leaves as the wrap. When I told the cashier that it was to spicy for me to eat he just looked at me with supercilious grin on his face and said it was not supposed to be spicy. The food is amazing and the team members are spectacular! The cute asian red head supervisor helped my girlfriend and i with our dishes.
