Stopped here during an out of town trip. Walked in and was amazed how tiny it is. Reminded us of the old fashioned ice cream counters in New York way back when. No tables or booth seating, only at the counter. We were SO glad we decided to try the place anyway. Outstanding Pad Thai, spring rolls and a basil veggie stir fry. Amazing flavor and fresh ingredients. Seemed like a family run spot and reasonable prices too. We just wished we lived closer so we could eat here more often! read more

Great little place with friendly staff! We arrived at 3:00 pm expecting it to be empty, but there were only two seats available, and there was a steady stream of customers the whole time we were there. I had the eggplant with tofu, and it was perfect since I'd read the other Yelp reviews. My "mild" (or level one) dish made me sweat quite a bit. My fiancé enjoyed Panang Curry and a Thai tea. We'll definitely come back the next time we're in the area. read more

This place is amazing. Went on a recommendation from a co-workers father in law. It's tight for seating maybe 10 spots all at the counter. I had the Penang curry and it was excellent. I will say this is more than likely the best Thai food I have ever had in my life. It seems like they thrive on carry out orders. I also had the Thai iced coffee which was delicious. Don't miss this spot! Easily found by the red awning outside the building..step inside and there's a row of about 10-12 seats and an aisle to stand in if you've ordered pickup. The menu is short and to the point, and they will warn you ahead of time they're spices are much spicier than other places..heed their warning! Great food and you get a show when you sit to eat..the chefs work in a corner of the room and the staff is always happy to make you happy! Great place to eat! Good bang for your buck! read more

Fabulous Thai food, small place w nine counter stools for seating, but worth the wait! Lots of personality, it was like being in a homey, bustling, very friendly place. The food is absolutely amazing. Very fresh vegetables, large portions, good service, great price, and it tasted amazing. I would give it 5 stars if it had more room. It is café style with about 10 counter seats. It is somewhat stuffy from the stove, and at 2 pm there were people standing behind me waiting for me to finish my food so they could sit. I strongly dislike being rushed in any capacity, especially eating and enjoying my food. I hope they expand soon. read more

Rachawadee has the best Thai food. They have daily specials that include soup of the day, pad thai, rice and whatever the main dish is offered on the special all for a nice low price. I have never had anything I didn't like. My husband has had several of their curry dishes and I am in love with the pad thai and basil fried rice. They run hotter than most places, so be careful with your heat choice. I usually get a 4 out of 5 in most places, but at Rachawadee, I get a 2 star. I would probably handle a 3 fine, but the 2 has plenty of heat. I reccommend getting there either early or later than the lunch rush becuase it only has 8 barstools and a small fold out table, but it is so worth the wait for a seat. read more

Fun little hole-in-the wall with just nine seats. Nice to watch your fresh vegis being chopped and a great wok-side view. I don't like Phad Thai at other Thai restaurants usually, but I like hers ( which comes with all the lunch specials plus soup and rice). Beware of their spice level - they are hotter than average. The best Thai food I've ever had! If you're coming through Mt Vernon, you HAVE to try this place. Watch out though, it is VERY SPICY! This little hole in the wall won me over on my first of many visits. I've had Phad Thai, Kee Mao, See Ew and Red Curry. They were all bursting with flavor and expertly cooked. My family loves this place so much that we had them cater my brothers rehearsal dinner for his wedding, cooking for ~30 people. They nailed it again. Thanks Rachawadee! read more

Fun, family-run place with excellent Thai food. They seem to do a huge take-out business. The wait can be a bit long, but if you have the time it's worth it. At times they close for vacation, so I recommend calling before you go. Highly recommended. read more

Horrible service by the manager. Came here with friends as it was recommended. Manager treated our group with such disrespect. She had no patience to take our order and was rushing us to leave a few minutes after we received our meal! Amazing! One of the best Thai places I have ever been to. Tom yum and red curry was excellent. I asked for medium spice and it was spicy just how I like it! We waited about 10 mins before being seated. They only have 10 seats but trust me, it is worth the wait. Edit: Also wanted to include that each item is no more than $9-11 max. So everything is VERY reasonably priced and the portions were a lot. I didn't finish my order and took it with me to go! They also do "lunch specials" which are $8.95. You get pad thai, with a few other options. My friend also did not eat it all and took it to go. read more

This place is TINY...but amazing. The 3 girls running it are efficient and friendly. My daughter and I went there for dinner Friday night and the 9 or so seats at the bar seating were full. One of the girls efficiently pulled out a narrow folding table and two tiny folding chairs to sit on in the narrow walk way. It was a little unusual but we were so happy to be able to get in we didn't care. The food was so fresh and flavorful. Beware...very spicy. My daughter ordered 0 stars on her phad thai and I mocked her when I ordered 1 star on mine. 0 would have been just right.....will definitely go back. Would love to sit at the bar and watch them cook. Don't be discouraged if it is crowded. By the time we left the bar the seats were empty and the next rush was coming in. read more
