Rafo's Cafe is hit or miss . On my first visit, I had one of the best chicken shish Kabob plates. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and very flavorful.The next visit, I ordered the beef shish kabob and it was very underwhelming and chewy . It might have been an off day. I'll probably just stick with the chicken shish. The portions are generous and the rice and pita bread were both solid tasting sides.The interior is a little dated and rundown, but the tables were clean. The service has always been friendly and the takeout orders are packed nicely. They also have pizza on the menu, but haven't tried it, yet. This place is worth a try, if in the area. The prices are good for the amount of food and It's usually easy to find a parking space. read more

The kabob here is great, based on the few I have been here. However, their hours are very odd so I am downgrading them for this! I have wanted to come here more, but they have been closed. I have never heard of a restaurant/cafe being closed at 5PM on a Saturday night or closed all day on Sunday! This has prevented me from coming more. read more

rafo's cafe is under new persian management, and they have managed -- rather unbelievably -- to craft an even tastier armenian pizza, which i did not think was even possible. all of your mediterranean favourite staples are here, their doner pizza is a classic, management is friendly and outgoing, the dining area has been completely redone, and the service is terrific. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this tiny place! The first thing that stood out to me was the service. The man who works the front/cash register was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the #1 chicken kabob plate - price was fair (came out to around $11 w tip) and it was great! Comes with 6 juicy pieces of chicken on top of basmati rice, with a side of salad, cucumbers, tomatoes, pita bread, hummus. Flavors were on point, and large enough to save for leftovers. Small place so a lot of people order take out, but we ate there since there are about 5 tables inside. It's in a plaza so parking is easy! I want to come back and try the pizza! read more

Was only going to order their chicken breast plate but saw so many rave reviews on their pizza so I had to order both. **no shame in my game** I enjoyed the pizza so much more than the chicken breast plate #5 because the chicken was on the dryer side. Rice was good. Half a pita and a small size of hummus(small sauce container size) with some yummy salad dressing. The pizza on the other hand was super flavorful. Not overly greasy or cheesy. Amazing food with amazing service. We have used Rafos Cafe for school party's and they have done an awesome job in delivering timely and providing exactly what we have asked. Kids love their pizzas. My workplace placed a large order for lunch this week, and although there were a lot of items, the whole thing came in quickly and correct-to-order, including extra sauces. Very impressive. Oh wow great meat! The BEST Donner kebab sandwich I have ever had. Thick slices of tender seasoned meat, fresh tomatoes, and these incredible pickles. Great job. First time to try their pizza and it was delish. The salmon combo and chicken combo were good as well.

After one trip I can easily say this is my favorite middle-eastern place in the Burbank area - much better than Sotta or any of the others and I've tried a lot of them. Their chicken kebab is amazing and comes with a huge serving of delicious rice and salad with a lemon ranch dressing that I want to put on everything. Hummus was good too but the salad dressing was just so good. The chicken was the real star of the show though - in my opinion it was cooked perfectly and had tons of flavor. Can't wait to come back. The place doesn't seem like much. It feels just like a city restaurant with its narrow interior and not much decor. But the highlight was the great Middle-Eastern style food. I expected shawarma and kabobs, but the pizza caught me off guard. There was a huge variety of pizzas, so I had to try a slice and a plate. Both were fantastic. Pizza was not too oily and the kabob plate alone can fill you up. The service was amazing. They welcomed us, gave us as much time as we needed with no pressure on deciding, and was very polite. read more

Found this little gem of a restaurant on a night I was craving some pizza. Tucked away in the city of Burbank is a nice little Persian/ Iranian restaurant where all the dishes are made to order. Oddly, this place has the best mexican pizza(pepperoni, onion, jalapeños, onion, sausage). Something about their crust just doesn't compare to some other pizza parlors. Kabob plates are good too. I love that the rice is not mushy but a nice fluffy texture. Restaurant owner/ employees are friendly as well regardless of your race you will feel welcomed. read more

This place deserved 5 stars because of the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The cashier and staff welcomed us immediately as we walked in. The cashier was genuinely kind and always had a smile on his face. My friend and I ordered the chicken kabob plate which was priced at $9.99. The food arrived and it smelled delicious and they gave us a generous portion of chicken, rice, and salad. The basmati rice was well-flavored and the chicken was moist and savory. The hummus was good, it almost had a lemony taste to it. The salad was delicious because of the dressing. Their dressing was something I haven't had before; it had a slight taste of honey mustard which complemented both the greens and the chicken. This place also serves pizza which is a weird combination, but I dig it! A couple pizzas that caught my eye were the chicken alfredo and the chicken pesto! Tried Rafo's Cafe several months ago. Nice and cozy place. The service is great, the food is amazing and fills you up.

I am finally getting to yelp to tell people how amazing this place is! Beside be greeted like family when I walk in, the food is above amazing, especially for the price too! The portions are large, always consistent, I have never been dissatisfied with anything that I have selected from there menu. I eat at Rafos at least 3-4 times a week if not more sometimes! I love, love, love this place! The pizza was outstanding; perfectly cooked crust, flavorful sauce, and they used red onions as the topping, yum!
