I just wanted to say thank you to the staff that helped to locate my phone today. I left my cell phone in my cart as I grabbed my bags and left the store. I realized as soon as I got home it was not with me. I raced back to the store and my spouse called the store to inquire if it had been turned in. When I got there, it had not. I used a phone locator map that indicated the phone was still at Raley's. (thank goodness). I went back to the store and the staff continued to assist in looking for the phone, which we did find. This phone is my lifeline to work. Called on a Thursday to ask about a birthday cake for my daughter. I had heard from a co-worker that Raley's in Roseville had made a unicorn cake for his daughter. They quickly said that yes they did make them and needed a 24-hour advance notification. Luckily I needed the cake for Saturday so this worked out perfectly. I went in Friday morning to place my order in person, the bakery employee was able to accommodate my daughter's wishes which were pink frosting on the inside and pink purple and blue frosting for the Unicorn mane, they even spray painted the ice cream cone horn gold for her. I live very close to this Raley's so it's my default supermarket to go to. Raley's and Bel-air (the chain) are higher end (but not as high end as Nugget) supermarkets so I understand that their prices are all marked up, which is why I only buy their sale items and I use coupons too. They have their own Raley's online "club" thing and I get their weekly e-coupons which is nice. I just print them up and take them into the store and use them along with manufacturer coupons and I can save a bundle. Their produce section is really fresh but expensive. Again, I only buy what's on sale and even then I compare their sale prices to what other supermarkets' sale prices are. The customer service is generally good. Not every person there is nice though, but usually they're polite enough. I would say Nugget Market's service and staff friendliness/cheerfulness is better, but this particular Raley's is pretty good. I also like to come here for their mail station (easier than going to the USPS post office) and they also have Red Box kiosks here (2 of them) for when I want to rent a movie to watch at night. Convenient and easy. Overall, it's a nice Raley's and there's a Peet's Coffee in there too (I've only been there once but it was still nice) and sitting area/cafe for people who want to eat their food bought from the deli or have their coffee and chill or hang out with friends over some drinks and pastries. Parking's good as it's in a big lot and I usually have no problem finding a spot quickly. My only beef is when people race down the parking lot (slow down!) making it dangerous for pedestrians but then again I guess that happens at lots of parking lots, you'd just think for the nicer part of Elk Grove that this Raley's is in, people'd be less ghetto with their driving habits and more considerate (of families with kids no less). read more

There is one specific cashier that is always rude and angry at the world and everyone in it. She likes to throw things and talk to customers like they are below her when just trying to make friendly conversation. Don't know her name but could point her out in a crowd and I'm sure anyone who has been through her line would say the same thing. Just an over and beyond type of guy. I had two children with me and he was just a pleasant delight to be offered the help locating items that were on sale (and sold out of). You think sometimes you'd want to just run in an out, but it's a large store ton of selection! With that being said, the quality of its employees, in my experience Gavin, was just amazing. Courteous, kind, welcoming and just all-around an employee I wish I had it one of my businesses. I hope his manager or supervisor sees this. And to top it with a cherry he helped me with all of the groceries to be put into the truck as I walked out holding both of my childrens' hands. Hello Raley's Team, I have been coming here for years and majority of the time I get happy faces and great customer service! Today on the other hand, was a little different. I went in and did my shopping. As I walked over to a line that had 2 people and the other had 3, I stopped to the closest one with 2 people. At the register was a girl. She's helping a customer and took about 3-5 minutes. Then her next customer took about 2-3 minutes. At the same time she's been sizing up my cart on how much I have from the first customer she was helping. I know that look because I worked as a Grocery Cashier for Safeway and Savemart for over a decade. Like I said I KNOW THAT LOOK! There was an older woman who walked behind me with her shopping cart and saw the line I was in and proceeded to the next line. I was finally next. Pushed my cart up and said Hello before she said a word. She replies, "I'm closed. That was my last customer." I said, "Excuse me?" Just to make sure I heard exactly what she said and I wasn't making this up. She says the same thing and adds, "I'm closed. You have to go to the next line." My response was, "Wow! Why didn't you tell me while I was standing here for over 5 mins? Instead you just let me stand here and make eye contact with you while you said nothing." As I was walking off she replied, "Have a goodnight! I got to go!" While in disgust, I walked over to the next line. Well, the only line that was opened. I stood in line for about 5 mins. The woman who passed me from behind to get into the other line overheard the whole thing and replied, "Did I just hear that?" I replied, "Yup!" Her response was, "That was so rude!! I can't believe she's talking to a customer like that." She then asked me if I wanted to cut her in line and I was already livid from this RUDE cashier and I replied and said, "No its okay I'll wait." She kept insisting to cut but I told her kindly I could wait. As it was my turn to check out I was standing there, the cashier walked by and said, "You have a goodnight!" Looked at me and then looked at the other cashier as if she meant to say it to him. When I was done I asked the cashier what her name was and I got it. Right away I went home and decided to give you guys this review so I don't forget what was said or how my experience was. I will post this on YELP as well! The cashiers name is Kylie. She may be great on her shifts and around employees but a customer who's standing in line and you don't say that your closed or the customer in front of me is the last customer is pretty rude! Especially how she delivered the "customer service" expectations that Raley's upholds on ALL of their employees. And then to smile in my face and say goodnight! She deserves this review. This is a very nice store. Beautiful fruits and veggies. Nice selection of the organic/healthy aisles of the hard to find items. Their meats are fantastic. I like to catch their sales. Great selection of brews/wines especially when they're not a liquor store. Lol. Their specialty breads are delicious. I normally like to shop here early mornings when everything is being fully stocked and fresh. Minus a star for being so expensive. I come in for sales and/or to pick up a specialty item. I love this Raley's grocery store. The butcher here, Armand is super nice and when he sees me he tries always comes out to help me with my order. They sometime have good sales on their meat and ice cream which is what I normally buy. They keep their veggies super fresh and store is clean. Plus great customer service at this store. read more

There are some things I love about this store, but also some things that irritate me. Love that they have a great selection of craft beers, their produce is fresh and presentable, and they carry specialty products. It's been irritating though that Raley's has been playing with their pricing labels. For items priced two or more, but if you only buy one the price seems insanely marked up. And you have to read carefully because these labels are different from two for price deals. It's super deceiving and annoying, and changes the shopping experience. Also, from a customer service perspective, I feel like some of their newer checkers and baggers are not as friendly as I have seen before and some seem out right unmotivated. read more

The chipperest workers I've ever encountered that work @ a grocery store work here. Got me some stuff on a whim for my lettuce wraps, Geeyuh!~ canned water chestnuts: .99 green onion: .77 butter lettuce live 2.69 Flowers 3.33 Most of this stuff I know I canget cheaper elsewhere but it was closest to work. A big BUTT, the foliage I got there I can't find @ Trader Joes (where I usually go, or Henrys). They were dark velvetty purple leaves/ferns of some sort. This is my local Raley's...not my favorite place to shop but it'll have to do. The meat selection has not been an overall favorite for me. There are minimal items in comparison to other grocery stores. However, the produce section is not too shabby. I'll even pick up a dozen of donuts for work every now and then. The self check out line is always my go to although the lines here are not very long. The checkers are friendly and the prices are decent. Just an average store to me...3 stars! read more

I frequent this Raley's location because I live really close. This store is always very organize and clean. The employees at the Hot Wok are always very nice and remembers what I order all the time! Thats great Customer Service I have to say. The grocery department is always neat to the point I don't even want to touch the apples. I do touch them anyways. =) The prices are a bit higher than most grocery stores. With the service, cleanliness and how organized the store is, I definitely continue to shop at this Elk Grove location. I recently signed up for the Raley's Something extra card. I am updating my review, the box situation in the evenings has improved, thank you! Previous post: I like Raley's. Ive been shopping at Raley's since I was small enough to ride in a shopping cart-1990. They are definitely more expensive than other options. But I understand that I am paying a bit more to get away from the crowds and irritation that comes along with a trip to a store like Walmart. I have some suggestions for this Raleys- I understand the need to restock the store. You close at 11pm, which I am grateful for, but at 10:30 there are boxes and boxes of items blocking the isles to the point where I can barely get through. Ive come on several different evenings and sometime these boxes have been out earlier. I have also had to move boxes out of the way on each side of an isle entry so i could push my cart through. An employee stood by watching and didn't offer any help and boxes were rocking... almost falling on my head. I hope waiting until you are closed or 5-10 minutes before close is doable.. I want to thank Victoria at the customer service desk today for helping me mail a Mother's Day package. Many times when I have mailed items at the post office, there isn't always the help and positive attitude like Victoria displayed. She was able to find me the best price and help me package the gift without adding any additional charges that the post office does-such as having to buy a whole roll of tape when a few pieces would suffice. The truth is, I used to primarily shop at Nugget. But then life got really busy and I discovered that my local Raley's had ecart. Not only that, but they have a great variety of items - from typical pantry staples to unique health food options. The employees are always very friendly and helpful, and the store is very clean. But back to ecart... because it's seriously the best thing ever for a working mom with a young child. They are great about communicating re: substitutions and/or out-of-stock items. The shoppers have picked out great-looking produce every time as well - which makes me very happy! Furthermore, they don't accept tips.. though they most definitely deserve one. The ecart fee is relatively low for the great and convenient service provided. So, great service, great prices, and great convenience! read more

So this store gets quite busy if you just look at the parking lot at 5p on a Saturday. Unfortunately that means if you need help at one of the departments you could be sitting for a while. We were looking for help at the bakery department along with another person, combined waiting for maybe 10-20mins it seemed. Peets coffee at the Raley's store on 4900 Elk Grove Blvd is a great spot to get your morning coffee. I am a regular customer of this store and I have always found the service to be the best in the area. Having said this, Stephanie at Peet's coffee is everything an employee should be. I have been shopping at this store since it opened and as long as Stephanie has been working there she has been hard working, personable, and consistent. She is a wonderful person with a big heart and great personality loved by her customers and respected by her peers. It's a great way to start your day! read more
