Sushi deception: Today (Oct. '18) was my first time encountering a thin residue (2-3 mm) of "Maguro paste" applied to the top of a roll, intended as a cut corner for cost saving. The roll contained no sliced fish, just this thin spread, but was composed of a center of rice and cucumber bound with cream cheese and more rice. Lately every time I buy meat (either chicken or hamburger) with that day's sell-by date (which means that was the only date on offer), and sometimes a later date, I get it home and it's SPOILED. I'm ready to file a complaint with the appropriate agency. Also, they moved EVERY product in the store, sometimes just flipping stock across the aisle--for WHAT reason? It made it a nightmare to find anything for weeks, and I've shopped there for several decades. They always ask the foolish question, "Did you find everything OK?" (which is absolutely useless by the time I'm in line--they NEVER have a solution) which implies I'm too stupid to ask if I can't find something. Many of the clerks are nice, but several are dicks. Customer service is pretty random. Like many stores, Raley's has deals w/companies to exclusively carry their brands. Once I told the new manager that they'd stopped carrying one brand of an item I preferred and I don't like the only remaining brand--he practically came unglued, and screamed, "We can't carry EVERYTHING!!!" Of course, for decades before this they carried my favorite, and I figured he'd want feedback, but I was wrong. read more

Living around the corner from this store seriously makes my life easier. I know that when I go, I will always be able to get what I need, the customer service is GREAT and it's close to home and affordable. The only issue I've had here is sometimes the constant barrage of solicitors outside of the store. Other than that, I love shopping here. read more

The ladies working the deli and the bakery were quite miserable today. Avoid the deli lady at all costs, she has misery plastered all over her attitude and even her face, so much so that I actually pity her. She looks, sounds, and subtly acts like Amy from Amy's Bakery on Kitchen Nightmares. How shes still working there? I'm not sure because I'd fire that lady asap. read more

Please train your check out clerks (baggers). Raley's has been known to support and higher young adults; often times students. What I have experienced is dry goods with poultry; dry goods with sea food; avocados at the bottom of heavy dry goods; cinnamon bread at the bottom of a heavy bag; one bag packed so full, it took both hands to carry. At the Raley's on Freeport Blvd, be prepared to bag your own groceries or at a minimum give polite instructions to individuals who obviously have not been given any; or are not monitored by the more experienced cashiers. read more

Had a very frustrating experience with eCart... ordered my groceries online, and scheduled a time to pick them up. I parked in the eCart space, called the number on the eCart sign. Every time I called it went to voicemail, so then I sent a text, which was another option. I saw a girl come out and talk to the lady in the eCart spot next to me and give her what she ordered. After waiting for almost 30minutes, I called the main store number. I told the person that I've been waiting and I need someone to come out with my groceries. The person servicing the eCart orders gets on the phone and tells me that she didn't see another car when she was helping the other customer. I let her know that I saw her speaking to the lady in the spot next to me, and if she comes outside, she would see my car. She comes outside and advised me that their phones were down... okay, how am I supposed to know? I let her know, if that's the case then you should be checking to see if there are any cars in the designated spots so you can come out and help them, I shouldn't have to come in the store. If I wanted to come in the store, my purpose of ordering online is completely defeated... Duh... Then she goes on to tell me that I'm not parked in an eCart spot. I say to her, "why is that eCart sign in front of my car?" Then she goes on to say they never really know if the person that parks there is really an eCart customer... Really?!? Is that really my problem? Needless to say, I had a much smoother experience with WalMart at Delta Shores... Ordered my groceries online, and when I picked them up it took 10 minutes, and that was because I was a new customer... Guess where I'll be doing my online shopping? WalMart... Sorry Raleys...You need to tighten up your online/eCart game.... The only thing she was good at was giving me excuses!!! read more

I've shopped at this Raley's for years but recently changed to another supermarket for most of my shopping. I especially am tired of what seems to be a constant reorganization of the store. Having to ask where something is located this week gets old. In addition sometimes it is "buy one get one free" which means I have to buy two items or pay full price. At other times things are labeled "two for " a specific price but I can get one for the sale price. It is a mystery until I get to the check stand whether I am being asked to buy two items or not. Just too much work to shop there anymore. I want to go in, find what I want, pay what I expect and leave. Often the quick check is not open or backed up I suspect because the shoppers are being encouraged to use self check. I really like the checkers but whatever the Teels are up to isn't working for me anymore. read more

This Raleys is the worst grocery store in Sacramento. Not because of the produce or items, but because of THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDED BY TEENAGERS AT NIGHT!!!!! This is the third and final time I will be at this store. Each and every time I do not feel appreciated . Today was the last straw. While checking out tonight, the one employee "Blayke" showed her paycheck to "Christina with braces" and was comparing pay and hours. I could not believe it. While I was getting rang up for my food. Grocery shopping is not something one does for fun, they do it for pure survival. However, I really like this store and don't mind all the treks I have to make. It's clean, reasonably priced and the cashier's are really nice. They have a decent selection and I don't have to go from store to store to get what I need. read more

I used to come to this raleys a lot before I moved closer to a bel air but this one is always there when I need it. They have a peets coffee located in the back next to the bakery which is awesome! They have a floral department right by one of the entrances and is always lovely to see as soon as you enter. They always have a wide variety and lots of seasonal flowers, the people there are always friendly when ever we need flowers ! read more

I love Raley's and so does my baby/toddler. Raley's is like an amusement park for him. All aboard the shopping cart! Tom T. is the best employee. Tom always gives Freddy a balloon and helps me check out of the self-check. All of the Raley's workers are nice, especially to Freddy. Sometimes we go to Raley's when we're bored. read more

They have wonderful service, everyone is so friendly and helpful! This Raley's is huge! They are well stocked and have everything you need, the produce selection is fabulous and super fresh. I love their Fuji apples, because they are the biggest and best tasting compared to other grocery stores. I also love the deli, because they have some of the most delicious sandwiches and a nice variety of meats and cheeses. The Something Extra magazine is a nice (Free) read they provide with plenty of new recipes! My only gripe would be the price, because some of the products are grossly marked up. read more

I decided to go check out the new Raleys. The store was clean and with fresh produce. I wanted to buy a cake since I use to buy cakes from here all the time (ever since I was a kid). The young girl (i didn't get her name) was very sweet. When I inquired about a cake she asked the lady working with her. The lady working with her answered very rude. I then proceeded to ask if she had fruit cakes and the older white lady answered very rudely again that the cake she was telling me had fruit (like I didn't know strawberry was a fruit) but I'm sure she knew what I meant. I then asked the younger girl if they still Made the fruit basket cake. She said they did but it was all gone. I decided for the strawberry cake and waited for her to pack it. I then noticed a white lady (customer) approach and the older lady (which she helped her nicely. And well when you are a minority you notice these things). She was so rude to me but very nice to the other lady. I was not rude and even when she was rude to me I answered calmly and politely. Other than that the store is great. I have been going to Raley's deli to buy sandwiches for my self and co-workers for months now. While the quality is good it seems as though the service has gotten slower. Today waited close to a half hour to order three sandwiches only to have the order completely fouled up. To make matters worse the clerk messed up the redo. I've shopped here for 12 years, and love that they bag my groceries and escort me out to my car. Huge shout-out to Edward, the most efficient checker by far. Notice how he positions the cart ergonomically to reduce his efforts. He should train the other checkers, as I've suggested to management. Staff here are courteous and helpful. HUGE store. They always have what I need when i'm in a crunch and they have a real nice stocked Organic and Health aisle. They even have organic OREOS. That's right. Everyone is always really nice. I wouldn't really do all my grocery shopping there, because somethings are overpriced, but I really like Raley's for what they offer. read more

I really like the Raley's family of stores and this one does not disappoint. For being an older store it is quite big and has a great selection. You can tell the layout is a bit dated, but they do have the self-checkout lanes which I love. The lines seem long at first glance but upon closer inspection this is just an optical illusion caused by the narrow front isle. I sometimes shop at the Raleys in Loomis, and I agree that it is a nice shopping experience. High quality produce and meats, helpful staff, reasonable prices. They even have a "play-care" room where you can drop off the kids. My 8 year old is much too old for it now, but it worked nicely when he was 4 and 5. read more

So the store itself is fine, as well as most of the employees. The problem here is their lack of knowledge and consistency when it comes to the Peet's Coffee shop located inside, especially the Asian ladies that also work in the Chinese food section. They are beyond rude, don't listen to the actual order, and go out of their way to give sloppy service, little things like ignoring requests for different fat content milk and questioning the orders. It's very frustrating, they definitely should be reprimanded and all employees should be trained to also run that section without attitude. Why have a coffee area if everyone running it doesn't know what they are doing and clearly have shitty attitudes? read more

Convenient but usually very crowded after work. I usually go there when visiting Oto's Japanese Market because it is close.

This is like any other raleys in the area. I dont think anything is amazing and the service isnt even that great since they cant find the item i was looking for. I went to the milk section and was looking for soy milk and it was nowhere to be found and when I asked an employee he didnt know either. Later I found out the soymilk was in the organic section so if you cant find something in the normal section that it is usually in check the organic section. read more

This and Safeway are basically my local grocery stores. I'm always torn where to go because I find them both average (oreos and hamburgers, not a lot of local or exciting options) and pricey. The store is squat and there isn't much space at the front for lines at the cash register, which leads to gridlock. You also get your walking in because it is so loong of a building. The folks are friendly for the most part, and I'm glad they a "natural foods" section. Good stuff there. Still too expensive. read more

Decent organic produce section, all the isles are routinely well stocked, ample parking lot spaces, friendly casheirs, and really helpful butcher department (e.g. I wanted to make a japanese dish that called for very thinly sliced pork, so I picked out a pork roast and asked the butcher if they could slice it paper thin, and within 5 minutes he had the roast back to me sliced perfectly thin)...everything you'd want from a supermarket. read more

So I live in land park and Raley's on freeport is the closest grocery to my house. I know is not large and fancy like the newer Raley's. And it doesn't even have a meat counter, which is kind of a bummer. I go to this Raley's for the great customer service. Every employee there is friendly and willing to help you. The cashiers always ask you how you're doing and after seeing them so often, I'm even interested in how they're doing. Every time I check out someone always offers and insists to help me with my bags. While at times it seems like many grocery stores have lost touch with the importance of customer service, I reassure you that one experience shopping at the Raley's on freeport will change your grocery shopping experience. read more

We live(d) in Curtis Park and had the choice of the downtown Safeway on 19th or the Mexican market on Sutterville/Franklin. We found this and love the selection and the prices when compared to Safeway! Really good vegetarian / health foods area and friendly staff. It has 2 RedBox machines to get your DVD's on the go and not have to wait like some of these places with 1 RedBox machine. The building and inside look a little dated, but I'm sure like the other Raley's, they will be upgrading sooon. read more

Love Raley's! Best produce and meats in town. Customer service is generally much better than Safeway or anything else comparable. Prices are average to just slightly above average, but it's a Sacramento company so I've gotta support local businesses. This would be a 5 star review if the store was remodeled or even given a refresh, it definitely shows its age. read more
