Great Sunday brunch spot. A little pricy but an upscale kinda fancy place. This is where you go for a celebratory meal. Our server (April I think) was nice and attentive, good conversation. Fried oysters was good but the bacon jam was really what made the dish shine. Redfish was nice. Surprisingly mild. Veggies it came with were cooked nicely. Which it came with some sort of carb/starch. Shrimp and grits was a miss here unfortunately. Grits were nice. Had good texture without being graining. The peppers also really shone through. The shrimp however were super off. Not cleaned, odd texture, and the flavor was that of a dish sponge. tasted so soapy. I have no idea what happened here. Really and truly, I like Ralph's! My dad was a regular here for a while, so I've been several times throughout the years. I returned yesterday after not visiting for about a year and had such a great experience. Between the service from Natalia and Savanah (5 stars!) Both were great. The drinks are always very good, and the food did not disappoint. The shrimp & grits were great, I loved the watermelon salad, and the crab cakes were full of flavor with lots of crab! I also think the 3-course brunch is a great option if you want to try a few different plates... only $45, which feels like a great deal nowadays. And you can't beat the location right across from City Park, so the views are nice too. I'd definitely recommend Ralph's! read more

Ralph's on the park is a lovely restaurant. I was surprised to see so many people there on a stormy night, but that made me excited to try the food. It was a bit loud, but that didn't take away from the experience. Our server, Vicky, was so great. She was funny and attentive. She asked all the right questions at the right times. There is complimentary bread service. The bread was warm and fresh. We ordered appetizers and the three course Coolinary menu for 58.00. I got the beet cured swordfish fish. It was good, but I was not blown away. My cousin got the crab carbonara. Overall, she liked it, but was not a fan of the bacon they used. My favorite course was the watermelon and tomato salad. The feta spread on the plate was fabulous! The beef tenderloin was my second favorite, can't go wrong there. My cousin loved the redfish dish. She cleaned her plate. We'd been wanting to try this restaurant for some time. They just opened for lunch on Tuesday's so today was the perfect opportunity. We weren't dressed up like all the other diners so we asked to sit at the bar where we were more comfortable. The entire staff were super friendly and welcoming. We had a great, enjoyable lunch at the bar and Gerron was our wonderful bartender/server. We tried the shrimp skully appetizer that was full of delicious almonds. My husband enjoyed his Land, Gulf & Grits, and I had my usual favorite, a medium rare filet mignon, which was so perfectly cooked. I didn't have a reservation, I came over after going to the museum. There is a parking lot next door. I was able to be sat. They had some great summer specials going on. My mom did the 3 apps and a glass of wine for $39. She had the turtle soup, salad, and crab cakes. Stopped in on a Wednesday evening to take advantage of their summer deal - 3 apps and a glass of wine for $39. Honestly I will be back. This was a great deal for very high quality food. I was impressed with the tartare portion and it tasted so good and not too salty. The truffle pasta was surprisingly light which is perfect for summer and the oysters while small had a nice crisp that didn't overtake the chewiness of the actual oyster. The service was a bit long and drawn out but many diners were there past close so it was a common theme. It's located in a historic building adjacent to City Park and features a large main dining room along with several private dining areas. The vibe is upscale--white tablecloths and professional service--but never stuffy. During our visit, the dining room was filled with large brunch time parties, creating a loud, festive atmosphere. You could really feel the energy of the upcoming carnival season. I started with their signature Bloody Mary. While it wasn't the best I've ever had, I did enjoy the pickled green beans and olive garnishes. For a starter, I ordered the City Park Salad. It's a beautiful dish made with very fresh ingredients and topped with crumbled blue cheese. The house herb vinaigrette was a bit tangier than I prefer, and I wish I had asked for it on the side. Our party of 12 dined here to celebrate a 91st bday. Our waitress did great with prompt and friendly service. The food was tasty. The experience got better after several large and loud groups of ladies left and we were able to hear each other speak. Came to Ralphs for a Time Left dinner. The service was great the food not so much. I had a salad and a soup and both were expensive, small and just ok. The menu did not have many items that I found to be appetizing. A friend next to me ordered the steak and that seemed to be the best item of all the items we saw at the table along with the typical fish dishes. For the money I think there are a bunch of different restaurant options around town with better menus. Last night I started with the fried oysters which came with a tasty a bacon jam and a bit of chili, great additions. We were seated in the bar area, so I'm assuming the main dining room is reserved for those with reservations, even though there were open tables. The bar area itself was cute and dimly lit, and the drinks were good. I ordered the pork belly appetizer and fries. The pork belly had an odd, slightly fishy taste, so I wouldn't order it again. I decided to stop in with a few friends on a Saturday night, and despite the weekend crowd, the staff was welcoming and quickly found us a table. The ambience was inviting and relaxing. Even though we weren't necessarily dressed for the occasion, the space still felt comfortable and perfectly accepting of more casual attire. I started with a French 75, which was well-made, though a little sweeter than I typically prefer. For my entrée, I ordered the drum fish topped with crab, served alongside small wedge potatoes and a few cauliflower accents. The presentation was clean and elegant, and the dish came dressed with a rich, buttery sauce. While the fish was cooked beautifully moist, tender, and perfectly flaky I found myself wanting a bit more seasoning. The butter reduction added some needed richness and saltiness, but it didn't fully round out the flavor, so I ended up adding a touch of salt and pepper. Met my SO's relatives here while they were in town visiting. I've been several times for brunch, dinner, just cocktails. The interior is very nice and of course a great view of the park. When we got there it was popping very loud, but that cooled down as people left probably to catch the saints game. Started with a Ralph's spicy Bloody Mary. I'm very picky if someone is making their own Bloody Mary mix, but this one was good especially with the infused vodka. Split some fried oysters for the table they were crispy and very flavorful. We ordered the off the Coolinary menu so we could try a bit of everything. Started with the tuna crudo. It was very refreshing and melt in your mouth. For my main went with redfish on the half shell it had some mustard seeds on top and a purée on the side, which was very tasty. Dipped some of the redfish in the purée. Yellow Watermelon Gazpacho & Louisiana Crab was the biggest waste of $16. It's a domino sized piece of watermelon with crab on top in this cold soup that tasted like watermelon with oil and chili. I wanted so badly to like this and gave it so many chances but watermelon and crab really just don't go well together and whatever the soup was, just tasted...frankly really bad Shrimp skully was really good. Loved the batter on the shrimp and the sauce it came with. The slow cooked pork collar was also really good. Service was fast and very friendly. We tried Ralph's on the Park for the first time on 04/10/2025 at about 5:30pm. This was a group event on the 2nd floor in the one of the private rooms for about 60 people. The upstairs room is nice, and has a beautiful balcony overlooking the park, the entryway and the train that runs through the park. We had our open bar outdoors, and the service was amazing. Even after we sat down to dinner, the bartender was consistently coming around to see if we needed anything else. This was for our company, and we had a set menu; however, what awesome choices and delicious dishes. We started with a Goat cheese and Proscioutto Crostini - 10/10 The appetizer wa a Fried Green Tomato with Shrimp Romeoulade. (I can't accurately rate this one, because I don't like tomato; however, the shrimp part was delicious) For my first course, I had the Seafood Gumbo - 7/10 For my second course, I had the Veal Saltimbocca - 10/10. The potatoes and capers were delicious accompaniments. For dessert was the Blueberry White Chocolate Bread Pudding - 10/10. Blueberry added a bit of tartness to this otherwise sweet delicious bread pudding. Excellent. The service was excellent all night! I do hope to try the regular menu again in the future. read more

Had 6pm dinner reservations on Friday 2/21/25. Upon entry the restaurant had a fancy vibe, which sets expectations for your meal to be pretty good. We were unfortunately disappointed. Service was professional. King cake martini was soo sweet and nailed the king cake creamy essence but the uber sweet followed by the bite of alcohol was not enjoyable for me. Dinner roll was a fresh baguette but plain. Butter could've been saltier for me. Usually I can't stop eating bread but this one was so plain and butter so flavorless I didn't even need a second piece. Soup of the day was a bisque with crab meat. 10/10. Flavorful. Not too creamy. Not too salty. Small crab bits, but enough not to have me question "is there anything in this?" Although one way to make it better could be to add chunks of something. Maybe small potato bites. Fries were good. Crispy. Most of the truffle flavor came from the mayo which I don't prefer so if you ate the fries alone you'd miss that flavor. Fried oysters were "fine". I didn't see anything to write home about but nothing bad either which is good compared to our entrees. Shrimp skully was so good 10/10. Flavorful and crispy. I got the speckled trout which was grilled and meaty, albeit a little dry. Alligator chorizo was good. Tasted like a lean chorizo which is basically spot on. Flavor on my veggies was decent as well. 5.5/10 Filet mignon ordered rare came almost cold (on the outside too which should've been a bit warm from the sear). This came with "king trumpet mushrooms" (yes, plural) and was served with half a STEM of a mushroom piece. Additionally, it was over salted with coarse finishing salt which ruined any chance of enjoying the one bite you had. 2/10 The ribeye was the best thing we tried and that's just because it came as we expected. Medium rare. Warm. Tasty with some flavor versus bland like the filet mignon. Won't speak to the ambiance as we were seated next to a ten top of like 13 year olds screaming. Completely ruined our dinner and unfortunately the food didn't encourage me to return on a quieter night either. read more

Tonight I went to Ralph on the Park for NOLA Restaurant Week and had high expectations! How the 2 hostesses ruined that so quickly. First, I was told that my whole party needed to be present to be seated. I'm ok with rules if they apply to everyone. However, 3 parties that didn't look like me and were seated without their entire party. Guests of these parties came several minutes after the other half was seated. Additionally, my table was not ready at the reservation time, but I can give grace due to the nature of the business. But, I heard one hostess tell the other that there was a table where they would squeeze a chair at to accomodate my party and I. Again, if other patrons were offered this too small table, I'm ok; but none were. Fortunately, after a 15-minute wait, we were finally seated. The food was great, and our waitress, Katie, was awesome! She made the night bearable and enjoyable! However, this does not mean I will visit this establishment again! I don't patronize businesses that don't see me or treat me differently from patrons that don't look like me. My money spends very well elsewhere, especially when I'm spending over $400 for dinner. There are too many restaurant choices in NOLA for me to be bothered with restaurants that exhibit or tolerate behavior like the 2 hostesses who did me a disservice tonight! I have eaten there several times for each of these reasons and have never been disappointed. The food is consistently delicious and beautifully presented. Their turtle soup is quite good, and I'm particularly fond of the fish dishes. It is just the right amount of food to satiate without being too much. Which means that you'll want... dessert and coffee! And there are several traditional options as well as modern ones. Servers are knowledgeable and very helpful. The event planning team is very responsive and solutions oriented when it comes to booking a room (or an entire floor). Their bartenders are gifted and the cocktails are excellent. We decided to try the all-day Monday Happy Hour and arrived about 5pm. We wanted to sit in the bar and were able to grab the only two seats open. The Old-fashions were the best I've had anywhere! We were here for brunch on Sunday and boy oh boy! Was it ever good! We celebrated our friends' wedding anniversary and we got the treatment!!!! We order the BBQ Shrimp & Grits, The Shrimp Ravigote Wedge Salad, Turtle Soup, Shrimp Scully and Truffle Fries. Every thing I tried was mouthwatering. The service was impeccable and our waitress was a very sweet lady and she made sure that we were very happy from the attentive pouring of our champagne to the nice little dessert treats at the end of our meal. This restaurant has the most beautiful view of the old live oaks and spanish moss in the City Park. This is one of the most beautifully decorated restaurants I have ever visited. This restaurant is a fancy venue with fancy staff, drinks, and plates, but they use these try and hide serving mediocre and over priced food. I came here with my family and we all had a different dish from the menu with a bunch of appetizers, so we tried almost everything they had to offer. I ordered their filet mignon and was very disappointed. The steak came out cold. The mushroom (which was literally only a stem of 1 mushroom) was grossly over salted with huge flaky salt. The caramelized onion tasted nice but was the smallest onion I've seen. And the steak was served with a single small potato cut into small pieces and seasoned in a way that all the seasoning slid to one side. The sauce on the filet, I couldn't figure out what it was but it did not pair well with the steak. It seemed like they were trying to make this dish as if the restaurant had a Michelin star, but it did not work out. Definitely not worth $50 for this filet mignon. The appetizers were the most enjoyable out of all the food we had. The truffle fries were cut and cooked beautifully, with a nice crunch on them. And the mayo on the side is what held all the truffle flavor and it was very very tasty and rich with truffle taste. The shrimp skully was good as well but reminded me of a simple Bang bang shrimp. The duck liver mousse was good but maybe needed a bit of salt added to it to balance it out. The drinks we ordered were good as well. I got the New Orleans sour which was an incredible twist on a classic that I will definitely be making for myself at home. I'm not gonna write about the entrees my family got, but overall, no one was impressed with the food. What a great date night! A table by the window looking out at City Park and impeccable service by Ellen. A bottle of Far Niente Chardonnay and amazing food! We started with the poached asparagus and crawfish and the steak tartare appetizers. My wife had the Blacked Gulf Fish over English pea crab risotto . I had the Fruti D'Mare, pan seared drum over the English pea, and crab risotto dusted with fennel pollen. I had the almond ricotta cake for dessert and Ellen brought my wife the Vietnamese Coffee Ice-cream. We visit New Orleans often and have dined at most of the finest restaurants in the city over the years. Commanders Palace, Brennans, Antoine's, Galatoire's, Bayonna, and many more. Enjoyed server recommendations for Reveillon dinner (4 course pairing from appetizer through dessert) with or without expertly paired wines. Turtle soup was superb. Cold oysters topped with Louisiana caviar (Roe) were bracingly briny. Main course of beef tenderloin or speckled trout was a great gastronomic quandary to solve (no bad choices either) and fourth liquor pairing with dessert should be Espresso martini instead of Sauterne. From the Hostess Mia to our Server Ellen, all of the staff were extremely friendly and polite. Their buttermilk biscuits were so fluffy and delicious.
