    Kome miso ramen

This is my favorite ramen chain in nyc. Unfortunately the location much closer to me in St Marks closed. This location is farther for me but it has more seats and is more spacious. Friendly and smiling staff. I got the lunch special home miso ramen. I got it with salad and tea. They changed their soy dressing on the salad and it has a much stronger aftertaste which I'm not a fan of. The ramen is great and not too salty.

Ramen Misoya is one of the more authentic ramen shops around - you know when actual Japanese people run the kitchen and service that the food will be more authentic! The restaurant is located below street level, so it might be a bit hard to find at first. The vibe inside is warm and the time I went it was pretty busy. I had the Shiro Miso Cha-Shu Ramen (White, Less Salty Mild Sweet Flavor Soybean Paste - Kyoto style - $18) and it was probably one of the better ramen's I have had in New York. Definitely recommend this spot!

A cozy, reasonably priced vibe in the West Village! The hidden gem is difficult to find especially at night. There is a small sign next to a staircase at the corner. It's down the stairs. The menu is physical so no QR code. They've got nice options for each ramen. We went with the shishito peppers for an app. They were a much too salty, and could've been a bit more blistered. The Mame Ramen was delicious. I loved the fried shrimp on top. The Kome Ramen was a bit tamer. I'd definitely go opt for the Mame if you're looking for ramen with depth. There was only one server the whole night for the entire dining room. They were very friendly It's at a great price too! I definitely feel like this is a return spot if I need a warm cozy, cheaper meal in the west village.

I think for the average palette the shiro is better than the mame. It's brighter and more dimensional while the mame is a deep darker flavor (as to be expected, although it's not bad either). Have not had the standard kome.

Nice restaurant in Chealsea area. The appetizer and the ramen were very good. The service was quick and attentive. The waitress was very helpful and she was nice ;)

Misoya is a hidden ramen speakeasy located in a basement down a sketchy staircase in West Village. Once you step in, the restaurant is spacious with warm tone lighting and clean bathrooms. They specialize in all types of miso-based ramen, including Hokkaido, Kyoto and Nagoya style. We ordered 3 apps and 2 ramen for two people. Everything was authentic and enjoyable. Highly recommend trying their signature miso ramen as this is what they are known for. *Black Pepper Tuna The seared raw tuna sprinkled with black pepper is so delicious and full of flavor. The dijon mustard adds a tangy and sweet flavor that complements the tuna's natural sweetness. *Ikura Tofu* I described it as a tofu version of chawanmushi. The tofu is incredibly silky and jiggly, literally slipping into my throat. The dashi sauce coated on top has a slight hint of ginger-y flavor. They also give a decent amount of ikura to ensure you have it with tofu at every bite. *Ebi Dumpling I've never seen a whole shrimp wrapped in gyoza skin before. It is so unique as an appetizer and a less meaty appetizer to pair with your ramen. *Shiro Miso Cha-Shu Ramen** Shiro miso is a Kyoto style ramen using sweet and light soybean paste. This type of miso is less salty and milder compared to their two other miso options. We couldn't stop but kept drinking the soup. The cha shu is seared to give a slightly smoky, caramelized exterior. The meat-to-fat ratio is simply perfect. *Cold Dipping Noodles** Summer special. I really enjoyed this soupless ramen as it is served cold. Very refreshing on hot days. The dipping sauce is miso-based with chilli powder on the side. The sauce is thicker and richer than the white miso, and the thick noodles hold up well to the sauce. Keep in mind both ramen come with many bean sprouts. Personally not a fan but my friend loved them.

The ramen here is so good! I really like the broth and the wavy noodles. The tuna was very fresh and thin and the fried chicken was juicy and came in big pieces! This location is in a basement setting, but there is WiFi and lots of seating inside. The service was also great! I have not checked out their East Village location to compare, but I would come back to this one.

Found this place while in the area and it was a wonderful choice. The ramen was very yummy. I also tried the shishito peppers which were great as well. Such a cute place and we luckily missed the rush. My brother tried the ramen and chicken karaage lunch special and he enjoyed it. The server was very nice and attentive.

This was my second time visiting Misoya, and it was just as satisfying as the first! They have a very extensive menu with several different types of broths. They also have several specials. The first time I visited, I also tried the yuzu sake, which was very tasty. The ramen comes out quickly and is filled to the brim. I've tried a lot of ramen in NYC, and I will say Misoya serves the most noodles. I swear the bowl is full of noodles. I was able to take home a lot of leftovers. The cha-shu pork is tender and thinly sliced. The chicken cutlet was crispy and cooked to perfection. The broth was flavorful (although a little salty for my taste), and the fried tofu was a nice touch, as well. It can be a little difficult to find this place. It is actually underground. The directions brought me to a bagel shop; Misoya is underneath the bagel shop in the basement unit. Once you enter, you find a well-lit, well-decorated, homey restaurant that you typically wouldn't expect from a basement unit. It's also in the West Village, so there are plenty of great dessert options nearby. This is a solid ramen spot and a great option the next time you're in the West Village.

My friend and I decided to check out Misoya around 7:15pm on a Saturday due to the glowing reviews on Google and Yelp. The restaurant is a bit hidden so when you get to the right corner, just go down the stairs, through some doors, and you will find it! I was shocked that we could get seated immediately, and it seemed like we just beat out the rush. The interior is small and simple. We ordered Kome Miso Ramen ($14) and Kome Miso Spicy Vegetarian Ramen ($15). I was very surprised by the price, especially given the location. I am a huge fan of miso ramen, so anything here would probably satisfy me. The highlights of the dish were the chewy noodles and the miso egg! My friend mentioned that the spicy ramen was not as spicy as it could be, so it may not satisfy you if you like a strong kick. Service here was terrific! There were several checkbacks and water refills. The two staff members helping us were so kind and courteous. If you are in the area, warm up with tasty miso ramen at Misoya!

RATING: 7.5/10 PRO TIP: Whatever you do make sure to try their chashu. It's actually really delicious. KOME MISO CHASHU RAMEN The "one to get" on the menu, with nice chewy noodles, perfectly cooked jammy egg and light flavorful broth. The broth is def on the lighter side, and not as bold as I would have liked but feels less heavy than other places. The chashu though was amazing - nice and thick slab of pork with a bit of a crisp on the edges and savory saltiness just running throughout. Really the star of the show here. EBI SHRIMP DUMPLINGS Feels handmade, the gyoza skin is quite soft, and i was hoping for more of a crisp and the shrimp itself is surrounded in some sort of batter that made the interior kind of mushy, not super salty. Not sure if I would get again but love the homemade touch. FINAL CATEGORY: GOOD (terrible / bad / ok / GOOD / great / excellent)

The whole experience is a journey lol. You customize your ramen exactly how you want it and then sit in these little individual booths that are meant to let you actually focus on the food. I got the Classic Tonkotsu Ramen with the spicy red sauce and the soft boiled egg. The broth was rich and creamy, the noodles were so good, and mixing the spicy sauce into everything was probably my favorite part. AND GET THE EGG. It comes in the shell and you crack it yourself, which somehow makes the whole thing even more fun, and it was cooked perfectly. My friend couldn't finish her ramen, so naturally I finished hers too That should tell you everything you need to know. Service was super quick and easy. You barely interact with anyone because of how the booths work, but that's part of what makes it so cool. The ramen is $21, which honestly isn't bad for Times Square. Good food, such a cool experience, and definitely somewhere I'd go back to.

We started with the pork belly appetizer which was recommended and stated on the menu indicating it's their featured dish. It was the biggest disappointment as it was extremely fatty with large chunks of fat, while the lean portions were dry. It didn't look very appetizing. The dumplings were just okay--they had decent flavor but I was hoping for a crispier texture. I ordered the Zebra Ramen. The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, but the broth was much saltier than I would have preferred. The pat of butter felt unnecessary and made the broth overly rich without adding much depth. The chashu was on the small side and also quite fatty and I assume it's the same as the appetizer but was sliced instead of in large chunks. The marinated egg had good flavor, although the yolk was a little more cooked than I typically like. Another thing is the pork belly appetizer came with an egg. I wish the server would tell us so we didn't have to add it to our ramen with an extra charge. The nori was also completely soggy by the time it reached our table. Overall, the noodles were the only highlight of the meal and the rest were very underwhelming. It's definitely not a place I would recommend.

No complaints, except that I guess I prefer Tonkostu (pork bone) over Paitan (chicken bone). I appreciated sitting at the bar to watch the lone ramen monger stir around the next batches of broth, hand-torching some chashu; boiling, whip-drying, and gently nestling my noodles, then manually laying out the toppings. This spot delivers the kind of authentic paitan that reminds you why people used to line up on cold sidewalks just for a bowl. I ordered the Paitan Ramen Deluxe, and it genuinely lives up to the name. The broth is silky, rich, and comforting without being overly salty which is exactly what a proper paitan should be. The bowl comes loaded: tender shredded chicken, seared chashu, marinated soft-boiled eggs, fresh scallions, bamboo shoots, and a sheet of nori that ties everything together. Every topping tastes intentional, not just filler. The texture balance is what really stands out fatty chashu that melts, shredded chicken with real flavor, and noodles that hold up beautifully in the broth. You can taste the care in the soup base; it has depth, not just heat or salt. If you loved Totto Ramen back in the day, this feels like its modern successor same spirit, new precision. Toribro isn't trying to reinvent ramen which they're just doing it right. And in NYC, that alone makes it worth a visit.
