Wow... There really isn't much more to say other than "wow." To start off, this place is much larger than their previous location and there are plenty of parking spaces right in front of the store. The beer selection is entirely overwhelming at first but they basically carry a huge selection of local as well as national craft beer; they also have a big selection of English and European beers; and they even have beers from other countries like Australia, Italy, and Japan and so on. We then move onto the liquor section which has many different varieties of whiskey, tequila, bourbon, rye, and vodkas and gins. Lastly there are different types of wines in another section. This location also carries snacks like hot Cheetos and Doritos as well as party snacks like mixed nuts and meat and cheese plates. If that isn't enough for you, there are also a few cigars in a humidor case. But really the beer selection is top notch if you are looking for craft beer or other types of speciality beers. Their selection of beer is more comprehensive than any BevMo! I have ever visited. In order to further expand on the term comprehensive, you can see, for example, that their selection of English beers includes hard to find selections from Fuller's and Wychwood, the types of beer selections you might only find in novelty English pubs, e.g., Lucky Baldwins. And this isn't the case just for English beer: their craft beer selection also included rare items like eagle rock and alesmiths rare joint brewing effort known as Milk Tank. I noticed a Stella Rosa wine came with a gift box but they were not on the shelf. I was buying this for a friend for xmas. The 20 something year old told me it didn't come with it. I had my bf ask the blonde stock guy who said he had some in the back. The girl insisted that they weren't part of it. The guy came back with it and the girl looked upset that , I, a customer got my gift box that came with the wine. Had the biggest selection I've ever seen of beer and liquor. Not that big on wine though sadly. It's overwhelming on the beer selection truthfully. You could stand in front of each refrigerator case and just be blown away by what they have. Their prices are competitive and I have a feeling that's why it's busy too. Whether your shopping for expensive craft beer, or the $10 case of Tecate, Ramirez liquor has what's ailin' ya. They also have mugs, glasses, and all accessories related to alcohol. Pretty cool. I have even found my pomegranate tequila, which is hard to find. **Beware** much like Target you walk in looking for one thing and walk out with more than 1 item. It's like a kid walking through a candy store but with booze! This is gold mine for bartenders to find that unique alcohol. Great place to stock up fro birthday parties, weddings, Quincenearas, divorce parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties! They have beer pong games, party shots, michelada mixes and cups, solo cups, and shot glasses. They also have kegs if you're interested. I give Ramirez Liquor 5 stars for he inventory. I can find great quality bourbon, wine , tequila and cigars unfortunately the customer service is highly lacking in courtesy and old fashion good customer service. The last few times we went in to purchase very expensive cigars and bourbon and didn't even get a hello or thank you. The cashiers both times were speaking with each other, no eye contact or thank you. So so rude, terrible customer service. Maybe the managers should hold some in services classes on common courtesy and customer service. Hire more retired staff with old school values. Just a thought. read more

I received a surprise gift via Drizly today, along with a text message that the order would be fulfilled by this merchant. I scheduled the delivery for this evening and patiently waited for my order. At the scheduled delivery time, I received a text saying the store was "out of stock on one of my items" and to contact the store for a substitution. I'd never been to this store in person -- but thought this would be easy to complete. Nope. My first call resulted in me being placed on hold and abandoned after 10 minutes. When I called back, I was immediately put on hold with no greeting for another 10 minutes. I finally reached a human on my third call and they acted as if I was crazy. Nobody had put me on hold, nobody had talked to me about a Drizly order, nobody knew anything about anything. We are now going on 30 minutes and I still have zero resolution. Finally, someone came on the line and told me nobody could help me and I had to call Drizly. I asked if the rest of my fulfilled order could be delivered --- I was told no. And then she hung up! After over 30 minutes, i still have no answers and no delivery. None of this makes any sense at all considering the gift order was paid in full by the sender. Why would in stock items not be delivered? Why the runaround? Why the excessive hold times? I'll never know because I won't be visiting or recommending this merchant again. read more

I support all the local businesses in the East LA area cuz I grew up in Monterey Park and I know how important local business are to the community. If I had to describe this, this is like the Latino BevMo. The prices for alcohol here area very reasonable and their selection is excellent. The wine collection isn't supper extensive. They have some good selection, especially wines from Mexico. What they do have is a great selection of beer and hard spirits. Beer (since I'm a beer drinker): excellent! They have a great selection of micro breweries, local breweries and foreign breweries. I come here to get some beer from Tijuana and the Valle de Guadalupe, as well as other Mexican beers that aren't that common (aka Tecate). And, if you're throwing a party and need to pick up some Corona's, then come on down. The hard alcohol is amazing! Especially tequila and whiskey. And if you're into mezcal they have it here too! The staff is super knowledgeable. If you come here on a Friday or Saturday night it'll be jumping. read more

If you're in town and looking for craft beer. Come here. They have it all. They have a wall of fridges that will make you cry a single tear of joy. They are the craft beer kings. Walking in here you'll probably fall to your knees and just realize that God is real and God is great for creating this. I've been a loyal customer of the Ramirez stores for years. I can't knock their selections, they have it all. But I'm disappointed in their customer service. I can't say it's all of their employees, but there are definitely a few bad ones. First we were disrepected by a worker who abruptly turned off the TV and uttered "this isn't a f@$#in sports bar" at the most criticall time of a game (why have the game on, or a TV for that matter, if you don't want us to watch. And yes, we know it's not a sports bar. We were there trying to get booze and get back home! Maybe this is a bit petty, but more of a heads up would've helped. Second, and again petty to most, I voiced my displeasure via their social media outlets. What happens? Ramirez doesn't believe in constructive comments, so not only were my comments erased, but I am now blocked on their IG. At the end of the day, this place is just a liquor store... so people can probably care less. read more

Holy Mother of God salvation is here.. The third installment of Ramirez just took the cake. The second I walked in the door my eyes opened wide. Aisles of beer, liquor, wine, and even glassware. Man ó Man do they have beer!! Selection is key, and I'm sure anyone can go inside and find something they will like. They even have a few sodas you can't get just anywhere. All forms of liquor in different sizes. I like all types of beer, pair it with the right food and it brings out the taste even more. Love coming here and always getting something I've never tried before. I did find one problem with this place. I can't just choose one or two. I walked up and down the aisles trying not to brake the bank on just one visit. What's next for them, maybe a tasting station or even a growler fillin' station. You can only hope. They had Dieu Du Ciel in stock and 5 different vareties! I wanted to buy the entire stock of the Hibiscus bottles but I have no more space in my fridge at home. I was recently at a craft beer festival in Montreal and this was one of the highlights of my beer tastings there. This is probably one of top places in the city for craft beer, especially rare finds including a bottle Allagash Iimited release I haven't seen elsewhere and Japanese craft beer style by Hitachino I haven't seen before. The variety of Allagash was the most I've seen in Los Angeles other than what I saw during my Allagash beer tasting and brewery tour in Portland, Maine. I also bought two bottles of highly rated Founders Centennial which I was told was hard to find in LA! They also had some bottles of Cucapa, craft beer from Baja California which I've tried when they had one bottle of one of limited beers in stock at this liquor store in the Valley. They were lacking the selection of Tijuana-based craft breweries I tasted during my taco and craft beer tour in Tijuana. They also have the largest selection of craft beer glasses and mugs I have seen. It would be a great gift idea for the craft beer lover in your life. They also have a large selection of tequila and craft soda pop, along with wine and other spirits. They also carry international beers such as San Miguel Negra, South American beers I wasn't too familiar with. Ample parking in their lot. This store, located near the historic Sears Building, seems 10 times larger than their small Boyle Heights location. According to the LA Times, "....a selection of more than 450 tequilas, 100 mezcals (including sotol and bacanora), 100 wines and 1,300 beers, with rare and new selections of each of these beverages available daily, too." I am usually not compelled to write reviews because usually the restaurants, stores, experiences, are all of decent to high standards. Now, I am from Boyle heights, and this is a place I commonly come to, whether it is for the great selection of beer, or Vaka Burger. Today I came in to pick up some food and beer. I came in with a small group, we ordered our food and then we also purchased some beer. Each of us were paying separately because we have a different preference for beer. As me and my friend's are waiting for the other people in our group to purchase their beer, we are waiting close to the entrance watching the NFL playoff game. Let me reemphasize that we are waiting for the other members of our group to purchase their beer/items. We are not being rowdy or obstructing a walking area or anything like that. We are just waiting and watching. But then all of a sudden, I believe it is the store manager that comes right next to us, looks at us, and yells "This is not a F***ing sports bar, get out of here." As this occurred, not only were we shocked, but so were the other employees and customers. I am very sure this was on tape and I hope higher management views this because it is not acceptable. I have never experienced this anywhere nor have I been disrespected like that. I thought Ramirez was a clutch place to buy my beer along with the other accessories that they sell, but obviously not. This was a horrible experience at a store that I thought was clutch for the Los Angeles Area, especially Boyle Heights. This is horrible management and my friends and I will not support a store like this that cusses and yells at its customers. read more

This place is amazing, plain and simple. Ramirez Beverage Center is the holy grail of alcohol stores. Anything and everything you could wish for can be found here. There are aisles after aisles of liquor and beer, many of which I have never seen or heard of. Besides the amazing selection of craft beer, liquor, and your basic beer, the prices are incredible. A bottle of Rumchata, which I bought from Bevmo for $22 was only $18 here. There is so many options here that you will find yourself spending a lot of time inside, my friends and I spent well over an hour choosing beer to buy. On top of all of the amazing alcohol, they cover all of the other basics: cups, sodas, chips, candy, cigarettes and cigars. If you can't find something you like here then yo may not be able to find it anywhere. I'm still in amazement by how amazing this place is. I definitely look forward to my next visit here. The most comprehensive beer selection I've browsed is at Total Wine, a big corporation with buying power. The most comprehensive independent, family owned beer selection is Ramirez Beverage Center, near the Sears Building, Boyle Heights and DTLA. I'm familiar with Ramirez Liquor in Boyle Heights, where they are known for their Tequila selection and although they have a nice selection of beers it's not as extensive as their Beverage Center location. The craft beer selection at the Olympic location is plentiful and excellent, frankly I can't begin to list their selection as the craft beef business is booming including Southern California. The craft beers at Ramirez can be found at either Total Wine or BevMo however I prefer to support my neighborhood and local entrepreneurs. Ramirez carries a nice selection of OC's The Bruery and I enjoy driving 10 mins.to pick up a new selection instead of 30 - 45 mins. or even to Placentia for a beer. One suggestion to the business.... educate the floor sales reps on all the beers and get them up to speed as soon as possible, I know that's a tall order but it would be beneficial to their customer base. read more

BOOM!! Beer heaven? I think so! How a city this size is so void of bottle shops I have no idea why. But this place is a shining gem located a quick jump off the 60. I was there opening day and I do say I go there very regularly. The staff is awesome, and the selection is the best in the area. I drive a good 30 min from the west side to come here about every other week. And on that note......Ramirez, you need yourself a public restroom. They could quite possibly have the most elaborate craft beer selection on the East Side. The place is bigger than some Bevmos I've been to, but have way more craft beer selection. They also get fresh shipments several times a week of craft beers, which tend to be limited quantities, but they announce their arrival on social media for those that follow them. Craft beer is not all they excel in, they also have a huge selection of tequila, scotch, bourbon, and other spirits, as well as a nice stock of wine. They have much better and personal service than Bevmo too, as they are family owned and operated. The staff always seems excited to help and talk about beer. It appears that most, if not all the workers, enjoy craft beer. I'm so so lucky to literally drive by this place on my way home from work. read more

This is a great store with a huge selection, but the employee knowledge about the store itself is very suspect. I spent my entire lunch hour driving to and from Ramirez Beverage Center after calling ahead and asking about a beer in stock. I was told it was available, but when I got there they didn't have it. Naturally I was upset because I wouldn't have gone if I had been told they did not have the beer. I spoke to the manager about being upset and had to ask for a discount. He offered me 10% off of One Beer which came out to maybe a little over one dollar. This would have been a ONE STAR experience, and although the discount offered was meager it did show a willingness to offer customer service. I will return and maybe change my rating depending on how the next experience goes. read more

Just okay. For such a big store the selection isn't that great...I would say that the beer selection is okay. The best thing about this place is it has alot of beers in the cooler...but if you don't live near here then that prolly doesn't help you. I would recommend the Beverage Warehouse in LA (over by Marina del Rey) instead. Better prices, and better selection. It is cool that they have the Vaka burgers pop up inside here. Ok, let's get straight to the point. Ramirez liquor has a huge beer and spirit selection, so you can spend some time shopping around. If you're looking for it chances are they have it....unless it's seasonal. In the past I have asked for certain brands or beer/cider and they have ordered it, usually upon demand or request, but they do take their customers requests into consideration. Vaka burger at this location is one of the most best burgers I have ever had. There are no burger places like this in Boyle heights, which is a great thing. I am glad they have this here. It's not a gastropub, it's a huge liquor store with a top notch burger joint inside. I would like for them to maybe our a few tables inside and even get an open tap with a few beers going, that would be great. They definitely have the space for it.
