This is a comfortable and clean resturant. The food is only so-so. It is best for breakfast, with lots of eggs-and-potatoes type dishes, omletes, etc. The lunch menu is stanard diner fare, good hamburgers, but not very inventive. The Mexican food is for gingos only, and there are so many excellent and authentic places nearby for tacos and such (El Faro comes to mind) that I wouldn't bother with it. One of the few places to get a veggie burger in the area. I end up eating luch here a few times a month because it's location is close to my work and I like the people who work there, but I wish the food was higher quality. read more

This place is nothing spectacular, but nothing really bad. I ordered steak an eggs. The steak was really thin, so I didn't really understand why they even asked me how I wanted my steak. The steak was more like a thin slice of meat. I got my eggs sunny side up and they were cooked well. I don't see how you could really mess that up. My friend got the eggs benedict which was good, but the eggs were definitely over poached. The egg yolk was solid and not runny like it's supposed to be. Other than that, it was your standard eggs benedict. The server was polite and quick, which was a bonus because I just came here for a quick bite. Wow. My wife and I just moved across the street. We hoped this place would be our go to place. We ate here three times and gave it a try. This is a amazing location and could be a great restaurant but a prime example of a owner who has given up. In fact they wave the white flag outside the place as you drive by. So very sad. We especially like the happy, friendly, attentive owner who brings a ray of sunshine to start the day off right! I had to write an update because today I tried an Ethiopian breakfast item: Firfir prepared with steak and topped with two over easy eggs. This is a dish that is perfect for someone (like me) who loves well spiced food. The taste is amazing and is a dish I woud happily order again. If you don't like spicy food you may want to pass, but if you like a little heat and a TON of flavor (that lasts all morning), then this is an item you must try! The service was stellar. And the breakfast was top notch. We came in with a group of twenty motorcycle riders who are generally not loved by restaurants. We are high maintenance, loud, smell like gasoline, and usually want separate tickets. However, the staff here treated us like royalty. They were accommodating and friendly and showed no signs of distress as we invaded the space. Separate checks were no problem and I am sure we over tipped as the notably awesome service and quality food were a welcome treat for us. If they can handle us with that much hospitality and speed out the orders for a group of 20, I'm certain that they will treat you right as well. read more

There are several interesting outdoor activities up the hill on Osborne, and this is the place to stop on your way back down for refreshment. They have a large menu with an emphasis on breakfast, Mexican and American items. Imported beers were $3.50 and half price on the second one, so it was a good deal. Lentils, cabbage, chickpeas etc. the most amazing thing in the plate was the roasted carrots and beets! amazing! Also had the samosa type things (don't remember the name). They were ok. Nothing fancy. Greasy and dry @ the same time. Prob won't order those again. Service was cool. Plenty of parking behind restaurant with lots of shady trees. I had heard good things about their great breakfasts over the years, but it was the lure of the Ethiopian food that finally drew me in. So glad I went! The owner was so kind and warm, explaining what all the different dishes were (and even how to eat them!) that it felt more like being in someone's home. And the food--thinking about it now and salivating! The injera was so spongy and tangy, perfect for soaking up every bit of those juicy sauces. Delicious! I couldn't believe I waited so long to visit, and now I had to bring others to this place to experience the food. A couple of weeks later, we brought about a dozen friends and neighbors in to experience the Ethiopian deliciousness, and they weren't disappointed! (One person had Mexican food, including a burrito that filled the entire plate--he managed to finish it all and said it was very tasty. Vegetarians were happy, too, with plenty of options.) My husband and I have been here a few times now because the breakfast is YUM. If you want a diner style breakfast without going to an overcrowded chain diner, this is the place to go. You can always find a table without waiting and the food has always been good. Again, try out the breakfast I don't think you will be disappointed. As far as lunch, I've only had the BLT and that was pretty good. The lettuce, tomatoes and bread were fresh and the bacon crispy; just the way I like it. There is a nice patio area which the manager allowed us to eat with our dog there. So, if you have a well behaved dog here is another pet friendly place you can add to the list. I love this little cafe, the atmosphere is simple but pleasant and the staff is attentive. I've tried a few items off their menu and I'm never disappointed, one of my friends also tried their Ethiopian food and said it was fantastic. I've only had one problem where their card reader wasn't working and they had to call the bank to get the transaction going. It did take about half an hour but the issue was resolved and it didn't impact my day negatively. I had been looking for a place to get Ethiopian style food for a while. I was looking forward to this spot. When we got there, they were setting up for a big party, but they let us eat anyway. When you sit down, they give you two menus. I went specifically for the Ethiopian, but that's only a one page side menu. The rest of the menu is American breakfast/lunch foods. I wasn't disappointed at all. Plenty of healthy options to choose from. I got the spongy enjera bread with some different veggie dishes to go with it. My plus one got a wrap. It was the same enjera bread with some stuff in it. Both were good, but she liked mine better. I liked the open plate style better too. The setting of the restaurant was interesting to look at. They have big murals on the walls of different cultural icons, both American and latino. I'd definitely go again and try a different dish, it was worth it, and I was totally full when I left. I got a Ranch SIde chicken burrito and it was so good I craved it for a whole week.However the second time I went there wasn't as good as the first even though I got the same thing. I went there a third time with my mother but this time I got a tuna melt and she got the chicken tacos. My tuna melt wasn't bad but I would definitely not have it again. As for the tacos they were very dry and plain with no flavor. We had to put a lot of salsa on to add some taste to them. I would not eat here again. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more
