French toast cake!!…read more We had some friends from out of town come to visit and they wanted to have breakfast so we brought them here. There are few breakfast spots in the quarter that I like and this is among them. I like the bacon omelet with Gruyère and a side of hot sausage. Their omelets have a cheese pull! Put some hot sauce on there and you're cooking. The hot sausage, well you gotta try it. It's unique in a good way. The crepes are good my wife likes the banana and Nutella, but the folks next to us got savory crepes and I think I am going to get that next time. One of our friends got the king cake French toast and we had seen it before and knew what he was getting into but he ate it all!!! The service is super friendly every time we have been, and this time was no exception. The place is French Quarter through and through. Kinda quirky, kinda hipster, kinda you know. There is construction going on out front on Decatur that isn't close to be done so the fences make it kinda hard to find, and sitting outside is not so great now. There is nothing you can do about it, but we prefer to sit inside so there can be a wait because it's small. If you don't want to wait go ahead and sit outside if the weather nice. Overall, we really like this place and the food has always been good. A must try if you're visiting New Orleans.

The coffee tasted like it lost the will to live, the food was solidly "meh," and the French toast itself was so dry it could double as kindling. Honestly impressive, given the name. Only highlight? The mimosa -- refreshing enough to help forget everything else. (2/5) - Come for the mimosa, lower your expectations for literally everything else.

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! We will be back.

We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and drinks at Luzianne. Minor things noted, mainly on the cook of the eggs, but nothing awful. It his the spot and checked the boxes!

We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children (one being only 2 years old), and because of that they changed our table type from a 4-top to a 5-top and made us wait an additional 30 minutes. Meanwhile, multiple tables became available that easily could have accommodated us, but the hostess was determined to keep telling us we had to wait. To make matters worse, there was open bench seating in the back where customers ordering to-go could sit. I offered to order food to-go so we could at least sit down and get started while waiting, and she told me if I did that they would remove our name from the waitlist because "you have to pick one or the other." No willingness to problem solve whatsoever. She repeatedly said she was "sorry," but her actions showed the opposite. I was simply trying to work together to find some reasonable solution instead of continuing to watch everyone else get seated while our family, including small children, kept waiting. Absolutely horrible customer service experience.

If you think you'd enjoy eating your waffles and eggs while vibing to outkast's players anthem then you'd be in the right place. The music, food, and people make it all fit perfectly. It's a local favorite. The restaurant is a cozy, shotgun house located on the corner. You can miss it so drive slowly as you approach. We weren't sure if they were open but they were. They serve breakfast and brunch. Open between 8-4 saturday and sunday and 9-2 during the week. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own bottle on special occasions. Call ahead to inquire. As you walk in you walk right past the kitchen. That's the only way to get to your table. It truly feels like walking through a home. It has a fun vibe and community spirit. The walls are covered in murals and the food is delicious.

We arrived to a line out front in a residential neighborhood giving house restaurant vibes from the street. Walking through the kitchen to reach the dining area is extremely odd and nearly discouraged me from dining to be honest. I'm from Vegas and never seen a restaurant concept like this. The service was overall decent and aside from the young male server vaping everyone was hospitable. The fish served with grits is "heavily" seasoned. I would def ask to scale back. The French toast served on French bread was a nice idea but way too much bread unless you're sharing it. Highly recommend adding bottle water to the menu. $100+ one time visit is plenty. The gratuity options are wild no 18%. The machine defaulted to 22% which I agreed to but the options were 20-24%.

I arrived before she did and oh my goodness, I said underneath an air conditioner that was dripping so I moved and right when I sat down, she came in to join me. Everything was disgustingly greasy, the countertop, The salt and pepper shakers, and coffee sweeteners, everything was so greasy and gross, and had not been wiped down in FOREVER! Before we went, I read these reviews and I was so looking forward to dining there for breakfast. I love breakfast and sometimes even enjoy it at night. But this? Oh no my friend. All of you who think you're eating omelettes? That's not just eggs that's got something mixed in with it that makes it super thick.. And believe me when I tell you, it does not look healthy. I ordered a hamburger and fries and a side of onion rings to share with my friend because she loves them. Everything was so greasy, not seasoned. The french fries didn't even have salt and pepper. Everything was so gross, the beef patty on my hamburger was disgusting. My friend wanted her food boxed so I got mine boxed up as well and I threw it in the dumpster on the way home, you should as well.. Tasteless, disgusting food and there is no butter there. Expect movie theater or butter on everything you order, that should tell you everything you should know about this restaurant.
