This place is delicious, I used to go there a lot with my parents but my mom is diabetic so we haven't been here as much anymore.

Their shaved ice is reasonably priced $5 for 2 flavors and for an extra dollar you can get a scoop of vanilla ice cream added to it, which I highly recommend you put in the bottom first. Honestly, it took me back tpu when I was a kid and had my dad stop the ice cream truck just to get snow cone and on a hot day believe me it hits the stop. The store is small inside but the ambiance is very warming with Hawaiian license plates and Hawaiian decor. The owner and his family are really friendly. Bring cash because right now that's all they're taking.

Mine was just one flavor (bubblegum) and my boyfriend's was blue raspberry, pineapple and cherry with condensed milk ($1 charge) and vanilla ice cream ($1 charge). For the two ices it was $7 flat. CASH ONLY (for now)!! Went back again on 7/12 to get the same order as before. Their ices definitely hit the spot during these hot summer days. Will continue to come back since they're like 5 mins away from where I live and their prices are the best! They also sell hot dogs as stated on their hot dog billboard outside the shop. Their Instagram states that their hours are from 11:30am-8pm.

We came on a Sunday and it was very packed! The whole restaurant was almost at full capacity. The parking lot is also small but street parking is available. The restaurant has the entire aloha vibe. There's indoor and outdoor seating and you order at the register before you find seats. We ended up using the redemption for the spam Musubis and I ordered a stack of the Macadamia Nut pancakes. We were lucky to find seating outside and the food didn't take long to be received. The spam musubi were very saucy, but I enjoyed them. The Macadamia Nut pancakes is IT, though! You must try these pancakes if it's your first time. The portion is enormous! The first bite of it was exceptional! The cream sauce and textures from the Macadamia blended well with the fluffiness of the pancakes. It's their staple and it's what Aloha Food Factory is known for. Great first visit. Great offer from the SGV passport. Go there and try those pancakes! I can't wait to try these again in the future! ( ^_^)b

Employees seem bothered if you have Question. The coffee is terrible, they should consider buying coffee from a coffee company instead of Folgers from Costco. More of a lunch spot. Came Back for the Special... But I'm Sticking to the Shaved Ice!…read more After how delicious our first visit was, I knew I had to come back and try one of their specials. Unfortunately... this one just wasn't for me. Maiko Special -- $13.50 Rating: 6/10 There was SO much happening in this cup that I honestly didn't know where my taste buds were supposed to focus! Between the different ingredients, flavors, and textures, it felt like a little bit of everything was thrown in. The jelly at the bottom was pretty bland, and the red beans were just okay. The matcha cake had a decent texture and paired nicely with the ube and matcha ice cream, but then came the cereal crunch... and at that point, my taste buds were like, "Girl, we need a moment." Individually, I think some of these ingredients would be great, but together there were just too many flavors competing in one cup for my liking. I'm still glad I gave it a try, especially since I was craving something different after our first visit. But now I know myself better--I'm definitely sticking with their shaved ice next time! Sometimes you have to try the fancy special to realize your original favorite was already perfect. Happy sweets!

They introduced me to takoyaki and got me so obsessed that eventually I had to make a trip to Osaka. I first experienced them sometime in 2014 during Little Tokyo's Nisei Week / Tanabata Festival. Before they opened their permanent location in Little Tokyo back in 2018, I would follow them all over the place. From night markets to new neighborhood pop-ups, etc. Because of them, I learned about new events (i.e. 626 Night Market, MP Lunar Festival, etc.) and neighborhoods (i.e. Sawtelle) that I wouldn't have otherwise gone to if it weren't for their involvement. I remember suggesting & wishing they open a permanent location in Little Tokyo, and when I heard the announcement that they would, it was a dream come true; I was overjoyed! I no longer had to follow them around LA. I would always be guaranteed their takoyaki on every Little Tokyo visit. Heck, I visited Little Tokyo many times JUST for their takoyaki! There's really no other competition. Their product is truly unique and catered to LA taste buds. I've also made multiple visits during the pandemic just to buy their home kit to get my Tanota fix at home. It was heartbreaking to hear that they're permanently closing. Hopefully, at some point, they'll decide to serve LA again, even if it's just catering at temporary events. Until then, I've no choice but to make takoyaki at home! I managed to taste the chef's takoyaki one last time last Sunday. It was as good as I remembered it 12 years ago. Thanks for the takoyaki, Tanota, and I wish you the best!

I've tried various takoyaki here, and my favorite one is their mentaiko - nicely salted, flavorful cod roe or something. Yum!! Definitely have burned the roof of my mouth many times, but it's just that great fresh. Only issue I've had is that it's rather mushier than normal most of the time, but I keep coming back because I love takoyaki and the mentaiko flavor. Service has been easy - kiosk ordering. Very small spot within the Chichikurin spot, and it's pretty neat seeing them make the takoyaki. Wait time hasn't been really long each time we went as well. Will really miss this place!
