I had a very disappointing experience at Razoo's Cajun Cafe. The customer service was poor from start to finish, and the food was not good either. We ordered a seafood boil for a family of four, but they only included one corn and one potato, which was nowhere near enough for everyone. To make matters worse, they didn't provide any utensils or napkins, making it difficult and messy to eat the meal. For a seafood boil, basic items like utensils and napkins should be expected. Between the lack of attention to the order, poor service, and disappointing food quality, this was not a good dining experience. Great food and a great environment! The General Manager checked in with us and asked if we were celebrating anything. He noticed my youngest was disappointed because we didn't go to Chuck E. Cheese for my birthday celebration since he wanted pizza. He went out of his way to order a pizza for my son at no charge just to make him happy. That kindness meant so much to us. It was a busy Friday evening, but we were seated quickly although our waiter didn't make it to our table within the first 10 minutes of being seated as he was serving multiple tables in our section. Once available our waiter did come over and offered some suggestions on food and drinks which were great for our drink for 2! The appetizer and our food actually came out rather fast and together, so we enjoyed very flavorful food and both entrees didn't disappoint. Razzoo's! What can I say other than a pretty satisfying experience. Visited this location in the heart of downtown Fort Worth on Easter weekend getaway. This location was pretty busy, they were able to sit us down quickly for a Friday afternoon. Now to rate the food, we began our Cajun journey with the Canal Street Combo for the appetizer, the fried pickles stole the show meanwhile the Boudin Balls was an acquired taste and my wife was not a fan and as for the Rat Toes the jalapeño was very spicy for myself as for my wife not a fan due to the seafood infusion inside so it was a bit of a bust for us. Now let's rate the entrees, my wife ordered the Catfish PoBoy, it was really good hearty serving of crispy fried catfish with a sturdy french bread however leave it for too long it'll soak up. I ordered the seafood platter, included fried catfish, very crispy and small strips in my opinion, fried shrimp which was very crispy and good, crispy fried crawfish! Came by our table only once and that was right after we got our food. We both needed more drinks and didn't get them. We were contemplating ordering a desert but never even got an offer of getting an order placed for one. Troy was nice, just absent. And it's not like it was really busy. We walked in on a early Sunday evening (around 4:45pm) and the place was far from crowded. There wasn't anyone at the host stand but we didn't wait long before someone came. There was discussion amongst them before one employee said put them in the bar. No worries, I just didn't want to be near the door because it was cold outside and I didn't want that cold air to hit me every time the door was opened. We sat down and reviewed the menu and our server came to the table asking us what we would like to drink. We informed him and ordered an appetizer. He got that started, nothing out of place. However once our food arrived we started to see what appeared to be nats flying all around us. The fritters we ordered were very bland in my opinion. They were greasy and just lacked seasoning so I can tell you I won't order them again. The waiter came back to take our order. I asked for oysters on a half shell and was informed they were out of them. I'm like are you serious and he informs me that the table next to us got the last of them. We ordered our food and I stopped him to ask about the flies. He informed us that they are just fruit flies. That they have an received an order of fruit and the flies have made their way into the dining area. Our food comes to the table and at this point I feel like I'm swatting more than I'm eating. The red beans and rice was dry and had no flavor, the shrimp was okay and the green beans seemed to be stewed all day. I ask to speak to the manager. Hannah comes to the table and I ask her about the fruit flies. She informs us that they are aware of the flies and they spray every Monday (it's Sunday so the spraying took place a week ago) and then she says that they pour water on the floor and there is a drain which they are coming from as well. However hold your hat cause this is where the one star comes from - I asked her if there were flies in the other part of the restaurant and she says NO. So why are you sitting people in this fly infested area versus putting them on the other side and her response is "we don't have the staff to cover that area". Needless to say when we left, there were PLENTY of people sitting over there who weren't there when we arrived. Not once did she say "let me put y'all over there" versus allowing us to remain in the bar area swatting bugs and they continued to sit people in that area and I watched them swatting flies as well. So if it looks like this in the front of the restaurant, I can only imagine what the back of the restaurant looks like. Enjoy! read more
