    Secret menu- mcgriddle
    Desi B.

Was invited by a friend to meet for brunch. Nice area, very nice and quiet. Parking is free on Sundays. Close nearby shops and fairly close to the freeway. Was told they recently added a breakfast menu and open during breakfast hours. They are typically know for pizza, which I heard is really good too. It's a family owned business and you can definitely feel it when you come in. Everyone is so welcoming and warm, great customer service and delicious food. What more can you ask for? Since my friend has been here several times before, we had her order the items off the menu and shared it family style. Everything was very good and tasty. The mcgriddle is a secret menu item she asked for one day and they made.it for her. It is definitely a dish to share as it's 2 large pancakes filled with sausage, bacon, cheese and egg. Having the balance of sweet and salty was a game changer. Really enjoyed the food and will be back to try other breakfast items and pizza one day.

    Buffalo chicken pizza

Delicious Buffalo chicken pizza! Service was also excellent, they constantly checked if everything was okay. They had one outdoor table for seating with a dog, and even brought me a water bowl for my dog. They had plenty of seating indoors too. I highly recommend this spot for good pizza if you're in the area!

    Greek salad

Dinner: (@Oakland location FYI) We went this past Monday for pizza and fries! I also got a tasty Greek salad too, the small was plenty enough to share. For pizza we chose the classic pepperoni cheese and sauce, but it's made on a thinner crust that's entitled the Luciano! It was Bruno! The dough is a signature sourdough btw and it's also vegan, so let's go Dough heads! The fries were thin, crunchy, and classic, for $7.50 the giant basket is yummy. They also have Deelish Local beers on tap from Temescal Brewing, along with water and soda.. but the best part is after dinner getting that yummy espresso shot from Oakland's finest, Mr. Espresso. At Red Boy they are using the organic Golden Gate Espresso, which is a medium-light- but super yummy, you could even get a cappuccino... Shout out to Daniel, Ariana, and Joe the pizza chef for their fine hospitality on a Monday evening. We can't wait to come back for Breakfast and the Oreo shake! Much love!

I'm giving 2 stars because the customer service was really great, from right when we walked in until we left! I'm giving a low rating because of a few things... we ordered half and half buffalo chicken pizza and bbq chicken pizza, the base of these pizzas which was straight hot sauce on one and straight bbq sauce on the other was overwhelming, just too much, but we wanted to make the best of it because we was hungry and had our fussy 18 month old daughter with us and wanted to feed her. The next thing is our chicken smh it came after our pizza and was undercooked. I definitely will not be returning but thumbs up for the great customer service and our waiter who was very apologetic after showing her our wings with blood still on the bone.

I have no idea what these cooking preferences mean? Does well done mean burnt? What's double cut? What's the difference between half and light bake?

It's a good place for a laid-back atmosphere. The restaurant is fast casual. When you enter, you can look at the menu and place your order. It's pretty much self-serve aside from them bringing your food. With that said, the limited interactions we had were pretty mediocre. What's fun is that it's a build-your-own spot. You choose your own pasta and sauce. They also have items such as sandwiches and salads. My best friend and I got the same thing--Rigatoni with Bolognese. I opted for no cheese on top. The pasta was al dente, but I definitely wish there had been a bit more sauce on the meat. The portion was decent for the price, but I do feel like I could make this at home. So if I come back, I'd opt for something else. The Italian Homemade Company has a few locations throughout the Bay Area. This one-off College Ave. is great for a quick pasta pick-me-up. Always love the option to join the online waitlist ahead of time when reservations aren't available. Favorite dishes of the night were: -Gnocchi Fritto appetizer: Never had fried gnocchi before, had a great puffy texture. Truffle taste in the truffle cream sauce wasn't very strong. -Zucchine e Maiz lasagna: Pesto was a great sauce choice and paired well with the zucchini and corn. -Squid Ink Seafood Pasta (special): Generous seafood portions and the dish was flavorful. -Complimentary focaccia: Fluffy and yummy with olive oil. Other dishes: The Italian Sausage lasagna was fine. I personally love crispy lasagna edges, but some people found it too crisp and too dry. The salad (Insalata di Rucola) wasn't mind blowing, but I'm glad we ordered a veg to cut through the richness and heaviness of three carb-heavy entrees. The restaurant itself is smaller than expected, so I would avoid coming here with large parties. It also felt really hot and stuffy inside, which I anticipate getting worse as summer progresses. The interior is cutely decorated. Service was initially attentive. We did have to flag down our waitress multiple times to order and get the check. Overall, my party enjoyed the food and we would come back!

The foccacia was given to us by our waiter without us asking, even though on the menu it stated we needed to ask. This was very fluffy and can be dipped in the olive oil provided at the table. I was immediately impressed with the lasagna with Italian sausage as I was making my first cut with my knife. I could tell that the pasta was freshly made and the sausage and sauce combo was amazing. I've had a lot of lasagna in my life and this dish stood out to me. The menu gives you an option to create your own pasta dish by choosing your pasta shape, sauce, protein, and topping, so we chose the gnocchi with Alfredo sauce and added chicken as the protein. Gnocchi was nicely dense and chewy, the Alfredo was creamy and not too salty. We ended our meal with dessert, and the waiter recommended tiramisu. I've been to Italy and had tiramisu, and also made it at home several times. The tiramisu was tasty, but what I noticed was that the lady fingers weren't really soaked in the coffee/Kahlua mixture so the dessert as a whole didn't have that flavor that tiramisu is known for, plus the texture was too dry and was more cake like. Also the mascarpone was a bit too hard and not soft, perhaps not enough whipped cream was added. Overall the meal was enjoyable and I would return again to try the other types of lasagnas, and perhaps their gelato.
