It was my first time visiting this restaurant.We were a party of 4 and went there on Saturday during the lunch hour and were surprised to find the restaurant empty. The ambiance is quite chill with a bar at one end and light classical music playing in the background. It was good to see some large print art of Kolkata where Indo-chinese food originates, telling me the restaurant knew their history. We soon sat at a table and were promptly attended by a server. The menu is small 2 pager (always a good sign) but with a good variety of items. We started with Drums of Heaven, Chilli Chicken, Manchow Soup with chicken, Coriander Soup with prawns and Hot and Sour Soup with chicken. The Soups were warm and hearty but I was a bit disappointed with the quantity. The bowl size was small and was barely enough for 1 person. However the taste was good and hit the right spice note, especially for Manchow soup The chicken starters were quite delectable and we did enjoy them. The Drums of heaven even though covered in sauce held on to the crispy texture. For the mains, we ordered Sizzling vegetables and Chilli Garlic Noodles with chicken. The Sizzling vegetables were seasonal and came stir fried in a red sauce. It was spicy and we enjoyed it. The noodles however were a bit disappointing both in taste and quantity. They lacked any depth of flavor and the quantity was barely enough for 2 people. A clear miss here. Time came for desserts and we ordered the Fried Icecream and Sizzling Chocolate Lava Cake. The Fried Icecream crust was delicious and the Chocolate Lava Cake was a pleasure for the soul. Both were quite exquisite and I highly recommend them. The bill for 4 came around $130 , which is quite decent for the things we ordered. On the cleanliness side, the tables were neatly orchestrated with clean cutlery. Also, the restroom was clean and well maintained. To suffice, this is a good place for a nice family lunch and dinner. Also a great place to hang out with friends and try some spicy food -- they have some devil spicy dishes for which you have to sign a waiver.They also have a great weekday lunch offer. Overall, a nice Indo-Chinese restaurant to satisfy your hakka cravings. The taste is quite good but the quantity might disappoint some. Signing Off, CanIndian Foodie ...Stay Hungry

We went here for a lunch on Saturday when they just opened and were immediately seated. The restaurant is very spacious and look modern. The food came out pretty fast. However, I feel like they were overpriced for the portion we got. The service was just ok. Our server took our order and never checked on us until she gave us the check although there were only 3 occupied tables in the restaurant. - Dry chili chicken: this item came out suspiciously super fast - like literally 2 mins after we ordered. My husband requested spicy but we got a medium spiciness instead. The flavor was good. The chicken pieces were well cooked and tender. - Honey chicken: there were lots of chicken pieces and they were tender. The sauce was good but nothing special for me. - Chili garlic noodle: it was mild spicy. The noodle was cooked well (still firm & has a bit of chew). Taste-wise, it was ok (tasted the garlic). For me personally, it's a solid 3.5 stars. The food was tasty but the portion was too small for its price plus the service was kinda lacking.

Stopped by to have lunch and try something new! Pleasantly delicious!! The dry chicken chilli is delicious with a good light heat, the honey chicken is a safe bet for those who can not tolerate heat -- delicious!! Yet out of everything the Momo dumplings were the best!! Each one tastes like a meal on their own, my husband and I favored these immensely!! The dessert was great too!! We've never had anything like that before. Highly recommend trying. We will be back to share with family -- also to know your employee Sanjay was a fabulous waiter!!

Ambiance is awkward. Too quiet, no TV's on and only one table of people eating so we opted for takeout. Service was okay. We asked for the honey chicken and grilled vegetables to have "light gravy" or "light sauce" and they said no. The food was dripping in saucey goop. I mean an entire bowl of sugar and cornstarch. The food that was not drenched was actually pretty great and tasty. Good amount of spice to it. We ordered the fried rice and garlic noodles. Overall, especially with the high prices, we would not come here again. We noticed a 10% off note for take out on the yelp responses..would have been nice had they actually offered it.

Delicious! Fresh Asian Fusion food, beautiful atmosphere, excellent service. I went in by myself and had lunch. I had the curry rice noodles with vegetables no protein. I was not sure if I'd like it, but I LOVE curry and rice noodles so I tried it. It was wonderful. No overpowering curry taste, but rather a pleasant curry flavor and what seemed like a nice broth base flavor (no broth). The vegetables were crisp and fresh. Decided to try this place after reading great reviews and on a recommendation. So glad we did! All of the dishes were so full of flavor. I really liked the noodles with the vege coins.. omg that Manchurian sauce is drinkable!! Chicken drums were also delish! Fried rice was good but I think I'll try a different one next time. Indo Chinese is one of the most popular cuisine and fusion in India and when done right is one of the yummiest. Been here twice and love the history place. We tried drums of heaven and they were made perfect, crispy and juicy with explosion of flavors. My better half decided to give the devils Chicken a try (made in ghost pepper sauce), they made us sign a waver and rightly so :) :), it literally burns your tongue but definitely must try it once kind of an experience. The manchow soup was perfectly made but was bit light in flavors nothing that condiments can't fix, the desserts were delightful and really yummy but comes with high price tag for the size of the portions. Overall this place serves good indo Chinese food, has great ambience and good service. Be ready to shell out good money, our check came to about $185 for two people. Will visit again!

Was initially a little hesitant to try this new spot as there have been a couple of not so positive reviews. My experience, however, was overwhelmingly positive. We went with a large group and were very well looked after by Praveen and his team. The food was made to order and everyone really enjoyed all of the dishes recommended. In particular the Hakka noodles and the Calcutta chicken were excellent. We even tried a couple of desserts which were also pretty good. Although the prices are not cheap, we all felt like it was good value for the quality and taste. Will definitely be making this one of our regular spots. read more

My daughter and I were really impressed with this spot. The decor is super cute, cool vibes. Service excellent and food was amazing. I am picky about fried rice because I feel like I can cook it best. But their brown rice version was super yum and kept well as leftovers. I definitely will be back to try more menu items. This place is so awesome! Food, ambience and service everything is great. Few of my favorite dishes are eggplant, Calcutta chicken, egg wrapped fried rice, fish in hot garlic sauce, curry noodles to name a few. Masala soda is out of the world. Some ppl are finding this place pricey but this is FINE DINING. Quality food, world class service and ambience is what we don't mind paying for. Will surely visit again. read more

This barat D has zero customer service skills and with your attitude you will never retain your customers. You can say whatever you want regarding your food. I can only speak the truth on my experience and your food was full of fat and with skin. You mentioned deep friend, I'm sure with cheap seed oils. Loved the modern ambience and decor. We ordered bunch of dishes and enjoyed every single one of them. Some of our favorites are Munchow soup, Calcutta Chicken and spicy Schezwan fried rice. You can feel the freshness of the food as every dish gets prepared to order. The owner was very nice and came by multiple times to check if we need anything else. First time trying it and I have had better food. The only thing good was Hakka noodles & Calcutta chicken. The gobhi Manchurian was too salty and soggy. The paneer in the Manchurian sauce was rotten & very bland. It had no salt, no flavor. The sauce had a very bad smell but we still paid for it. I am a immunocompromised person & thank god I didn't eat that sauce otherwise I would end up in the hospital. read more

It was my first time eating at a Chinese / Indian restaurant and I have to admit it was so good. I tried the prawns in hot garlic sauce, fried rice, and the chili chicken. My mom enjoyed the leftovers that I brought home, I have yet to explore the other dishes from the menu. The service was amazing, Praveen was so good at explaining all the dishes and helped us order! My husband and I recently tried this place and we are delighted with it. We ordered the eggplant and the Calcutta chicken, both "mild," and both extremely flavorful and delicious. We have eaten ethnic foods here, in the Bay Area where we grew up, and all around the world, and we have to say this was the best Indo-Chinese food we've ever had. The ambiance when you first walk in is beautiful with very calming music. The server was very nice and provided excellent customer service. The food was excellent and came in a timely manner, would highly recommend the firecracker prawns!! The food can be spicy, be sure to let your server know if you want it more mild. Manchow soup had good taste.Rice in Schezwan fried rice was not fully cooked. Instead of in house schezwan sauce the taste of schezwan was very close to store bought chings schezwan sauce. Not to mention very very oily. The quantity was not justified for 18$. May be trying few more items may change my opinion about this place in future but i would think twice before going there again. However, the ambience was good and better than indian restaurants in the area. read more

I went here with my wife even though I was skeptical after reading the reviews. The service and atmosphere were good but I just didn't find the taste to my liking. It just reminded me of salty, greasy Chinese food. In all fairness my wife gives it 3/5 stars. Overall I think there are better options in town. read more

Excellent food with a fine dining ambience...everything we ordered (crispy chilli potato, Szechwan Eggplant, Drums of Heaven, Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce, Veg Coins in Manchurian Sauce, Ginger Bellpepper Rice) was very well prepared and great tasting. This isnt the Bay Area so you can't just bring inflated Bay Area pricing here and pretend it's going to fit right in. It is simply the most overpriced restaurant I've ever been to in Folsom, period. And the owner telling me to just go to McDonald's next time is hilarious. The food is mediocre at best even if it were priced appropriately. "fine dining" is thrown around real loosely here. read more

Food is very expensive compare to other restaurants. And food is average also. Fried rice is so oily. Service was not great, maybe due to shortage of staff. We had to wait for half an hour to get the bill. We wanted to order desserts but no one bothered to ask anything even though they saw us face to face many times. read more

TONS of food, which was nice (especially for the price)! both steaks were ordered medium rare; the filet was cooked as ordered and the rib eye was on the medium/medium well side. however, the major bummer with the rib eye was the menu states well marbled but the steak gas VERY fatty when you're paying $62 for a USDA prime, "well-marbled" (per the menu's description) steak, the last thing i'd expect is to describe the steak as more fatty then marbled. the sides were great; the garlic mashed potatoes with the soy wasabi sauce were incredible! SERVICE our server started out very attentive and progressively we saw him less and less throughout the night; waiting for the check, needing water refills, etc. i get that everyone has busy tables and the F&B industry is having a tough time, but dang. at a place like this, i'd expect top notch service throughout the dining experience! AMBIANCE it's very nice inside. super cool bar when you first walk in. lots of spacious seating so you're not sitting on top of one another and modern decor. after having worked in F&B, i totally understand the industry; some nights people call out, larger parties consume the kitchen, etc. but for the price, nothing really seemed to blow us out of the water :( hopefully it was just a bad night that we went. it has a great reputation for a reason! hoping the next visit is a better experience!

Red Hot Chili Pepper Review Writing this review feels bittersweet, as I typically prefer to spotlight the positives and uplift locally owned businesses. However, my experience at Red Hot Chili Pepper was disappointing enough to warrant sharing, especially after later reading similar sentiments echoed in Yelp reviews. Our decision to try this spot was based on a friend's recommendation, not Yelp. They suggested, "It's a new place you may want to try." Lesson learned: sometimes, friends miss the mark. To set the scene, Red Hot Chili Pepper advertises itself as a "fusion" restaurant--a blend of Chinese and Indian cuisines. Unfortunately, it falls short of delivering the best of either. The Happy Hour Letdown We arrived at 5:30 p.m., during Happy Hour. It's worth noting that they allow you to enjoy the specials at your table rather than being confined to the bar, which is a plus. But the positives ended there. We were the first customers since they opened 45 minutes earlier. We ordered a cocktail and an appetizer, both of which arrived quickly. The cocktail, a watermelon margarita, was served in something barely larger than a shot glass. Meanwhile, the dry Manchurian cauliflower appetizer was so tiny it felt like a tapas portion. Happy Hour should be about attracting customers with good value, but here, it felt like a throwback to the 90s when "mini portions" tricked patrons into thinking they were getting a deal. The Menu & Flavors As the name implies, spice is a theme here. Even dishes without the chili pepper icon next to them came with significant heat. Proceed with caution if you're spice-sensitive. We ordered the Hakka noodles with a $5 prawn add-on. At $17.95, the portion was shockingly small--barely enough to satisfy one person. The noodles were overcooked and lacked the quality you'd expect from authentic Asian cuisine. While they had a pleasant smoky "wok hei" flavor, the prawns (if you can call them that) were disappointingly small and few in number. The Sizzling Seasonal Veggies came out on an impressive smoking platter, but again, the spice level was overwhelming and not mentioned on the menu. We had to take it home and doctor it to make it edible. For the price, a local Chinese restaurant would offer larger portions with better balance. Service & Pricing Service was another disappointment. Despite being the only customers for a while, it was slow and inattentive. Our waitress lacked knowledge about the dishes and could only advise avoiding chili pepper-marked items if we didn't like heat. There were no offers to adjust spice levels, which many restaurants routinely accommodate. As for the pricing, it's premium compared to traditional Chinese or Indian eateries. While I don't mind paying more for exceptional quality or larger portions, neither was delivered here. The recurring theme of "small portions for high prices" is echoed in Yelp reviews, and I hope management takes note. Final Thoughts Red Hot Chili Pepper left us with a sour taste--not from the spice, but from the overall experience. Overpriced, undersized portions, and a lack of balance between heat and flavor. A Disappointing Decline - We visited this restaurant on a recent Sunday, hoping to take advantage of their "kids eat free" promotion. Unfortunately, our experience was far from positive. For our 7-year-old, we ordered the chicken nuggets. They arrived at our table clearly overcooked and almost burnt. When we politely asked our waitress if they could be replaced, her response was shocking and unprofessional. She explained that the frying oil hadn't been changed in a week and then dismissed our concern by saying that the meal was "free food anyway." This level of service and comment on the food's quality is completely unacceptable. We've been patrons of this restaurant since it opened, and while the food was once delicious and high-quality, we have noticed a drastic decline in the past few months. Based on our latest experience, we cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment. Save your time and money and find a restaurant that values its customers and food quality. read more

I visited Red Hot Chili Pepper in Folsom with my family and my brother's family for dinner, and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience. This restaurant closes at 10 PM, but while we were still enjoying our dinner, one of the servers approached us and tried to rush us out by bringing the check--despite the fact that we were still eating. We hadn't even had the chance to order dessert yet! The customer service here is absolutely unacceptable. Instead of creating a welcoming environment, they made us feel pressured to leave, ruining what should have been a pleasant family dinner. It's clear that they don't prioritize their customers at all. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The poor service overshadowed everything else, and I'll be taking my business elsewhere in the future. read more

My wife and I went out with the intention to go to Mikuni's but when we saw the line out the door we decided to go elsewhere. They say everything happens for a reason and we are happy the evening played out the way it did. We were thrilled with the AMAZING food and incredible service. Food was decent but service is below 1 . They automatically charge 20 percent tip for zero service. This is my worse service of 2024 in any restaurant. Don't expect any service there . If they charge in dollars then service should be like usa not .... . read more
