Walked in during lunch. Got seated quickly, sat and waited over 10 minutes and no one acknowledged us. All tables around us were seated after us and already had drinks and rolls on their tables within those 10 minutes. My husband and I got up and walked out. The Hanover Red lobster is great! crab isn't dry. Owings Mills' Red lobster crab is very dry. Still open in 2024, some thought they were closed. This place isn't as popular as they should be so you'll have a good chance of being seated right away. our waitor James is very polite, honest, friendly, knowledgeable about the company, and easily accommodating to any changes we may have wanted. This chain restaurant came into town recently (a few years ago?) or so I've been told and had stolen business from many places. I've been here twice now for dinner, and both times the place had been filled with white heads. Literally. About 75% of the place is made up of retired people. Call me ageist or call me observant but old people love eating here! Not sure why though, I can't imagine Red Lobster being good for their cholesterol. But Red Lobster consistently has the most packed parking lot. The food is decent. I get the fish or lobster usually. This time I enjoyed the Lobsterfest main lobster and shrimp tacos. Firstly, let me just say, I've had a lot of really good experiences at this restaurant in past years. For some reason, the quality of the food here has just spiraled downward. You're better off going to a local seafood place, spending around the same amount and getting more of a fresher selection. That being said, the service here is always great. My wife and I use to like coming here once in a while as a change of pace. We never had any complaints. It had been a long time between visits so we decided to go last night. Apparently, something has changed. I don't know if this is true for all Red Lobster restaurants but the menu is now catered to the gluttonous, butter-eating, population. They use to have a fresh fish menu that my wife enjoyed. They don't seem to have that any more. The only fresh fish they had was salmon. They were also out of snow crab legs!! I would say about 80% of the dishes have either shrimb or lobster. I realize that the name of the restaurant is "Red Lobster" but they always offered many seafood items above and beyond shrimp and lobster. It's a shame. In today's health-conscious world, RL seems to have regressed. I imagine the food is ok but if you are looking for a healthy alternative, you may want to look elsewhere. FYI, my wife and I decided to order an appetizer, then went over to Ruby Tuesdays for a meal we knew we'd enjoy. Our app was the Shrimp Bruschetta. I will admit that it was tasty. This was our first occasion to visit a Red Lobster. Had seen many ads and finally decided to try it with my wife. We had done some looking on the web and decided that endless shrimp sounded like a good idea. Service was prompt and smooth as we continued to eat scampi shrimp. Nice flavor. The Korean style was sweet with a little bit of heat. Alfredo sauce was smooth and tasty. Sides of wild rice and fresh vegetables were well cooked. No room for desert, as we overdosed on the shrimp. My pregnant girlfriend and I (interracial couple) went here for dinner on August 8th. The moment we walked in we were visually judged by the hostess. She sat us at a booth with a broom and bucket dust pan sitting at it, leaning next to where I sat so my gf didn't have to. It stayed there nearly the whole time..the manager walked by us a couple dozen times and I know he saw it. Nobody removed it until almost the end of our meal. The manager would walk by us back and forth in a rushed manner as if he was way too busy to be having yet another set of customers taking up a table (there were only maybe 4 other tables in use) and every time he did so, he would eye me up.) Our waitress was the only OK one. The manager clearly wanted us to be done and out and kept a close eye on us. I use to work in the restaurant business so I know when somebody is doing a RAMP check. He was over checking on us but never checking in. He definitely wasn't taking us serious. We were dressed pretty urban (this time) but by all means we looked clean and presentable. You should never assume what somebody's situation is, you have no idea who my girlfriend is and that she could buy the whole place and she chooses to wear non-expensive jewelry because she likes it! Thus restaurant is so understaffed. I had a designated person to watch my children when i went into labor who works there as a dishwasher and they would not let her off. They had sent home another dishwasher a half hour into their shift and refused to call them in to cover for her so i could have a sitter while i was in the hospital. The ads for red lobster certainly weren't taken at this location. The crab cakes were three on the plate as the main protein and were together the size of one average crab cake. I couldn't find any crabmeat in them only old bay and bread. The scallops were fried and literally the size of small marbles. I'm not fussy I'll eat at McDonald's but these servings were insulting. My husband and I tried Red Lobster five times. I ate different shrimp dishes and each time the shrimp should have been thrown out two days before I showed up! The shrimp was put in salted water to preserve it. My husband tried the fish and shrimp with no luck! Other family and friends have told me that they don't like the Hanover, PA Red Lobster but they do like the Owings Mills, MD restaurant. I can only recommend the biscuits and the mixed drinks. This place has changed. I haven't been to a Red Lobster in 2 or 3 years. They used to have a really diverse menu & fresh fish items. I remember Ultimate feasts & lobsterfests. There was none of that. No specials or combo deals. The kids menu was good. I got an appetizer & stuffed flounder. It was overcooked & very bland. The others at the table agreed that everything was bland. There was no flavor. I am pretty sure our waitress forgot we were there at one point. I keep going back for the biscuits. My daughter likes the crab legs. We always go for lunch because you can't get near the place for dinner. We have never had to wait when we go for lunch, not even for a late lunch. The place is full also. I was glad we were seated next to a window because the place is so dark. As I looked across the dining room I wondered if people could see what they were eating. Yesterday my husband and I went to Red Lobster in Hanover, PA. We have been there many times and always had excellent food and service. Yesterday we went at lunch time and the place was not busy. Our server took our order promptly. It was over an hour before we were served when people who arrived after us were served. I ordered a boiled lobster. The shell was impossibly hard. Neither I nor my husband could crack the claws, and I sent it back to be cracked. The server said even the kitchen had a hard time cracking the claws and they were not cracked sufficiently to make it easy to remove the claw meat. The meat was tough, worse lobster I ever had. Our server, Kim, was pleasant but not attentive. We asked for more napkins which she never brought until after my husband went looking for more napkins. She said she forgot. It seems the kitchen staff was not able to perform, but definitely something was wrong and there was lack of attention by Kim. read more
