Came here on a whim after seeing a movie. The location is really convenient. The hostesses were wonderful and chose not to be rude or frazzled, even though it was super busy. Our waitress Becca was fantastic! She was super friendly and attentive. My boyfriend and I got steamed crab legs and even though they were a bit overcooked, we enjoyed our meal because of our waitress. She kept the biscuits coming. My husband and I went to Red Lobster on 10/31/22 to celebrate my birthday and enjoy the Endless Shrimp event only to find that the food was boring. It all lacked flavor. The Shrimp Scampi had very little noticeable garlic and had more of a watered-down butter taste. There was no pizzaz in it at all. The Parmesan Bacon Shrimp was not a good pairing. Tiny bits of bacon chips were hardly found in this dish and again, no flavor at all. I know restaurants try to cater to the healthier food crowds, but when I go out, I want to eat something spectacular! Something tasty and full of flavor. Why fix something that isn't broken? Red Lobster used to offer a deliciously crunchy and cheesy Parmesan and Breadcrumb coated shrimp during the Endless Shrimp event and it was wonderful. The Shrimp Scampi used to have a delicious salty garlic flavor. They also offered a zippy Siracha Grilled Shrimp with a tasty siracha dipping sauce. I am not much into spicy food, but this offering was just right. Both of us really enjoyed it. On this visit, we were looking forward to trying the Argentine Red Shrimp and placed an order for it, but the server came back to inform us they were out of the Argentine Red Shrimp. Wow! I did get the Shrimp Linguine Alfredo, but I think the chef must not have been taught to season the pasta water. The linguine was bland and the alfredo sauce only made the pasta taste more like a wallpaper paste with 5 shrimp on top. This meal was a big disappointment and with the increased cost of dining out, it was not worth the money. The Cheddar Bay Biscuits were actually fresh and hot this time around and had that wonderful buttery and garlic flavor. Maybe I'm just getting too old to enjoy a birthday dinner out. read more

My son's shrimp and tilapia were good. My lobster tacos were awful. The 'soft' taco shell was dry and hard it was filled with dry cabbage and sprinkled with a few pieces of lobster and a little sauce. Never again. Our server was sweet. Not her fault. read more

Food was good. No wait on a Monday at 9:00pm. I found the salad delicious, one of the only chains to have French dressing. I ordered some clam chowder and had a dirty spoon. Waitress apologized and had another quickly out to me with my salad at the same time. She was a very nice lady and kept up with my refills and biscuits. The biscuits I got were 3 per basket, for only one person this was very abundant amount. I still needed a refill and she obliged with 3 more: I must have looked hungry, lol. Kristie my waitress was really cool. I had a frozen cold corn and she make light of it and took care of it with a prompt replacement. If the kitchen was as great as her, I would have gone 5 stars. The food was what you would expect at Red Lobster, but our service was terrible. Our waitress took 10-15 minutes to come back to the table after getting our drink order. We decided to order 2 frozen drinks when she came back, and took another 10 to come back with those drinks and to finally take our orders. Nope. I've been to red lobsters all over the country and this is by far the worst one. The first time I dined in: the food took 2 hours to be served. EVERYTHING was underwhelming. I attributed this to the fact that I went with a large party and it was a busy night. I decided to give them another chance a year and a half later. The food was just as underwhelming as I remember, and just as cold as I remember. The biscuits served at this location put the ENTIRE chain to shame. So dry, so hard. It seems as if they took cold/old biscuits and popped them into the microwave. Absolutely horrible. There's nothing to say about the rest of the meal because... there was nothing special about it. We went back to this particular location and we thought it would be great. But we were thoroughly disappointed. We had ordered the pick two for an appetizer and we wanted mozzarella cheese sticks and fried chicken strips. And WE WERE SERVED RAW CHICKEN! This is the nicest RL I've been to. Very friendly staff. My server Chuck was very helpful and attentive to my needs but not over bearing about it. Food was good and taste like every RL I go to. Very consistent on food that's why I like RL. Location is good and it wasn't very busy on a Sunday at 530pm. My family loves eating here but the last time we did someone must've spilled soda on the wall and after about 5 minutes of being seated we started seeing small black ants. Eventually we found the drink spot and their was a ton of ants. We told our waitress and she let the manager know. We walked in and put our names down for a table. The hostess was not very pleasant to begin with. She told us the wait would be 35-40 minutes. We said okay and she wrote our names down. We then decided to sit in our car and wait because there were no more available places to sit and wait in the lobby. We waited about 25 minutes and went to walk back in to wait inside the remainder of the time and the doors were locked. The hostess came and poked her head out of the door and said they were closed. We told her we just spoke to her and had our names down to which she rudely, "yeah but y'all left." We told her we were waiting in our car and it hasn't even been the full 35-40 minutes yet. She again said, "but y'all left." And just stared at us. She then said she would have to ask the manager if she could seat us but we told her just to not worry about it and left. It was our own mistake not realizing they were closing soon, but why didn't the hostess mention anything about them closing soon when we walked in and even bother to put our names down? What added insult to injury was how unpleasant and rude the hostess was from the very beginning. This young girl lacks needs better people skills. read more

I love this place!!! Their Cheddar Bay Biscuits are famous! No joke, you can but the biscuit mix in your local grocery store. The staff was amazing! A great place to go for seafood and relax. Though the waiting time on most days are long and even the most patient may grow restless. My family and i had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated because they were "busy". There were many tables empty and i dont know what the problem was. Red Lobster has always been my favorite place to go for my birthday, unfortunately the last time I was there I ordered the lobster roll ,a new item that was on the menu which cost approx. $8.00 and it was'nt even the size of a small hotdog . I know the cost of food has increased but come on, you can do better than that. Love Red Lobsters menu and always enjoy the food, but for some "Odd" reason every time we choose to not sit in the bar area, my lady and I seem to get terrible service and it's always the same little older lady with black hair, very rude and mean with our first encounter, the second encounter she made us wait 20 mins before even coming to our table. I look around and it's maybe 5 tables taken and we our getting walked by like we are a bother to her. Someone really needs to have a talk with this lady. The restaurant was not busy. We were placed at a strange both without sides in the center of the room while more comfortable and private booths were available everywhere around us, directly beneath the air conditioning it felt like and the speakers which were cranking out loud horrible music, I could not hear myself think and I got a head ache. All this before I received my order, 2 lbs. of Alaskan crab legs which were pencil thin, 2 lbs. of shells actually. I had to send the waitress back for butter, lemon and cocktail fork...then the tea came with a soup spoon. I was so dissapointed I wanted to cry...my bill was almost $100 including a tip which the waitress made sure to include. Funny, the manager made the rounds from table to table but skipped ours with a worried look on his face. Actually not funny at all just very sad. I am never going back. read more

Had a group dinner Sunday 9/23/2018. This is not the Red Lobster I knew years ago. Plenty of the cheese biscuits but they were gummy as if undercooked. Several of us ordered the "endless shrimp" and for the quality of it....it needed to be "ended". The rice that came with the teriyaki shrimp was practically RAW and the shrimp was cold. The baked potato I got looked like a hockey puck and was warm. The lobster that another person in our group ordered looked like a large crawdad... and the kids barely touched their warm fries and chicken fingers. The servers were doing their best with our group of 16 and we did not fault them for the poor quality of the food. The best thing I had was the water. I wonder if Red Lobster will still be open in the Lynchburg area if the quality of the restaurant doesn't improve. I read the reviews of the place before we ate there but figured that maybe those folks went on a bad day. I think EVERYDAY may be a bad day for Red Lobster. Don't think I will be coming back...and if I do as part of a birthday or celebration group, I'll just have the water. read more

The food is absolutely fantastic, but the service is on the decline. It appears the wait staff has been overhauled and replaced with servers who are prejudicial and rude. I noticed that the size of the biscuits have decreased to the size of an infant's fist. The last time I dined in this establishment, my father asked for extra biscuits, and the server, who has an attitude towards me due to preconceived notions and bias, brought one burned biscuit to the table and rolled her eyes at me. I have been away from Lynchburg for 25 years, and I made the unfortunate assumption that being biracial was no longer an issue. I was mistaken. If you don't measure up to the cultural standards of this oppressive town, expect poor customer service. I suppose I should pretend to be Elly May Clampett just to receive respect in a restaurant. My undergraduate major was theater, so I suppose I could turn into Elly May Clampett. It's a shame when you have to apologize and pretend to be ashamed because your skin isn't dark enough. If a "bougie" customer (an individual who doesn't spit, curse or shout at the top of the lungs for generalized conversation) such as myself, has the unmitigated gall to enter into one of these bama eating establishments and expect service, I will be ignored or refused service, even after the buffoons have taken my money. I think it would be advantageous to place outside of these establishments "No northerners allowed." Woe betide the customer who isn't the right shade. read more
