It was not a great experience. I ordered through the yelp app and it said delivery was 45-60 minutes. It was over 70 minutes when it was finally here and the driver comments were well, we were very busy. The pizza was cold and the sandwich had very little meat on it. Service used to be good. Called there yesterday and spoke with a man who gave the impression that I was disturbing him by wanting to order a pizza. I was reading from a flyer dropped off on our porch. The pizza we wanted, The Kitchen Sink, was listed as $18.99 for an 18-inch. It also said two substitutions could be made without additional charge. This uninterested person jacked the price up to $30.00. We discussed the prices on the flyer for a bit but he wouldn't agree to honor the flyer. Needless to say, we did not order our pizza from them. With this type ethics, we'll never need them again. SUMMARY: Pizza not worth it, bad customer service, wilted lettuce, and if you have a problem call Eat24 because they actually understand customer service. A gentlemen answers, if he said they business name I didn't hear it because I had to ask. Told him I just received an order and it was wrong. Long pause....huh? So I repeat myself, and give him the order # and start to describe the pizza I ordered, and he cuts me off and says something to the effect of, "oh yeah, the half Piedmont one"...???? No! It's not supposed to be Piedmont it's supposed to be Clairemont! (By this time his attitude was really pissing me off, he was acting like I was talking gibberish or something, and he just had no energy left to put any energy into the situation) He continues to have this well what do you want me to do about it attitude, so I ask for the manager and turns out he's the guy (REALLY!!), So I explain the finer point of customer service to him, and tell him I DO NOT want another pizza, but I expect some sort of reimbursement. He's one of those guys where you say something and then he says it like he just came up with it himself. Anyways in the end he agreed to refund half the pizza (Eat24 just called an confirmed credit) and at the end learned how to say "Sorry mam for the mistake." All in all, won't be going back...Round Table is cheaper, faster, & better. read more

Excellent Pizza with great customer service. I highly recommend it over any delivery chain pizzeria. The crust is delicious and they care about "making it right" for their customers. I recently placed an order for a Chicken Supreme Pizza and they delivered a Supreme Combo Special. I immediately called and was offered store credit or the right pizza. They delivered the second pizza in under 30 minutes after their posted closing time and I got to keep the first pie. I was on Yelp looking them up to order another... and then thought about how they expect me to put on some shoes and walk down to the street instead of bringing it to the door... which is a good twenty feet, they could have it there before I even get my shoes on. My fiancee and I ordered pizza from Purple Pepper Pizza last night. We'd never tried it and had zero expectations, other than to use our coupon for the place. (Plus, it offered free delivery!) We ordered the "Chicago style" pizza. The person on the phone was friendly and helpful, as was the delivery person (possibly the same guy.) When we tasted the pizza, we were both VERY pleasantly surprised by the quality. It was delivered on time, hot, and delicious. We especially liked the thick, buttery crust, but it all tasted great. I was really hoping for a hidden in the hood "gem" but no such luck. The pizza was bad. They put some weird butter like stuff on the crust that literally taste like Pam spray. I stopped mid chew when I caught the taste. Gross. The sauce does not taste fresh. Poor quality canned ingredients that were cooked too long will do this. This is my second order with Purple Pepper Pizza and I am very disappointed with them. I ordered a deep dish pizza which consisted of mushrooms olives and chicken. There was barley any chicken on the pizza, the crust was burnt, an overcooked burnt. The ingredients just slid off the pizza and to top it off my daughter got sick. Maybe the first time I ordered from them It was a different cook, but with inconsistency like this, I think I will opt to make my own pizzas from now on. It is so hard to find good pizza. I will never patronize this place again. I paid $25 for this pizza, for the taste of it, I could have purchased a frozen one from my local grocery store for less. We recently moved into the area and ordered from here several times before finding a new pizza joint. The most recent order we placed we them took over an hour and a half to be delivered...and this was after they called us to tell us that they had run out of chicken for our BBQ chicken pizza. We ended up ordering something different but we were never refunded the difference in price. This was the second time in as many months that they had run out of ingredients to make their pizzas. Living in the Oakland Hills (Skyline near Keller & Elysian Fields) we have very limited options for food delivery. We tried Red Pepper Pizza because they would come up to our house. Four people ordered pizzas, 2 salads; bill came to $105 (which includes tip). Chef salad was very good, lots of variety. 2 out of 4 liked their pizzas a lot; other 2 not so much. My crust felt and tasted like hard cardboard. My toppings included sun-dried tomatoes, which were added straight from a freeze-dried pouch, yuck. Probably will try a different delivery next time, any recommendations appreciated. read more
