Any place that states 'gourmet-quality traditional dishes, prepared with the freshest ingredients' and then lands little 'whipped spread' containers on your plate instead of real butter is a no-go for me. I'd put it at diner quality. That's it. Nothing special here. Fair food. Slow service. Delivered food to table but no silverware. Waited over 5 minutes for any staff to even walk past the table to ask for it. Toast wasn't delivered with meal, had to ask for it and waitress didn't even remember what kind of bread was ordered. I really had high hopes but our breakfast was marginal at best. The hash browns were DRY and cold. Everything else on the plate was lukewarm. The decor is cute and the service is friendly and quick. But the food was very disappointing. And it's pretty hard to mess up your basic egg breakfast. We will try again another day for lunch. read more

Went here for lunch with coworkers and was pleasantly surprised as I always drive by this place and never knew it was there. Food was quick, good value roughly $9 for breakfast items and was delicious. I ordered the red truck skillet with the pancake and even though there was a good amount of meat and cheese - pancake was warm, fluffy and had good flavor. Portion size was great as most of us couldn't finish our plates even though we wanted to. Service was great as they came by often and was extremely friendly and welcoming. The only reason why it's not a 5 star is that the menu is your typical breakfast lunch menu (which isn't a bad thing but it's not a place where you would go to try something new). Tip - if you're deciding between the small and large orange juice get the large as it's only $1 more but was much larger than the small. read more

The food was good enough but don't get that joke of a side salad. It was lots of yellow chopped up pieces of lettuce in a bowl. I ordered the lunch chicken fried steak and never even got the roll that the menu says comes with my meal. Our server never brought my husband the hot sauce he asked for and never refilled our drinks. Too many other choices probably won't be back. read more

We tried this place for the first time and it was yummy. Homemade food and great for brunch. My only criticism is the hash browns and home fries were a little burnt like the griddle wasn't cleaned. Otherwise we will be back for some more delicious food. read more

Well... let me start by saying I love Red Truck Cafe. The food is excellent as the owner seems to care. He walks around table to table checking that everything is fine. They will even make special order omelettes that my husband asks for ... So what's the problem?? This morning we ate there and I noticed that all the staff are no longer wearing MASKS. I WONT be back. I've been a few times in the last few months. Not every week but it has been one of my favorites. I had a stroke in April and can no longer cook. It's been nice to enjoy a Saturday morning breakfast. We usually just pick food up to bring home but started trusting a couple places. This WAS one. Although the service is not particularly good, I can tell that they are making every effort to accommodate their consumers as soon as possible. The prices were not cheap, but the meal quality was excellent. What about the serving sizes? I wouldn't call it generous; others are only good for one person. I finally found a good place to get a delicious, inexpensive place to get breakfast. I had a breakfast sandwich that was great. The overeasy egg was cooked perfectly and the bread used for the sandwich was very good and toasted well. While there I noticed their Specials menu and saw they had Chicken and dumplings on Thursdays. I'm always a bit leery about "specials." But I had to give it a try as I have been craving chicken and dumplings. Let's just say, I'll be back next Thursday. So good. Finished off with homemade Apple Cobbler a la mode. I am in town for work and am tired of all the chain resturants. I drove around by my hotel and stumbled upon this place. Catchy name...I'll give it a try. I asked the server what they were known for and she suggested the daily special. Being Tuesday it was pot roast. I do like pot roast. It came with three sides I decided on black eyed peas, corn, and fried okra. I also got the jalapeno corn bread. I can honestly say it was the best pot roast I ever had. We ordered the fried catfish with okra and corn bread along with chicken fried steak and coleslaw potato salad and brown gravy. First off the presentation of the food needs help. Saw this cafe when I popped into the hardware store on an empty stomach. Decided to take a 3pm chance and glad I did. This isn't a chain restaurant, food is cooked in house when ordered. Fried pork chops (thin cut) seasoned to perfection and golden brown. Black eyed peas like your grandmother made, definitely not straight out of a can. If I could give less than one star I would- Went in to get food to go, and found the prices seemed high but possibly fair. Oof was I wrong. After waiting 40 minutes, asked about ETA (as we had a prior arrangement we were trying to make), only to hear a muttered complaint on how "everyone is in such a rush." If the food had been good after, could have let it go. But all items had missing components (au jus for a dip, cheese on a cheeseburger, etc) and elements were obviously put out when they were ready- and ended up almost frigid when they should have been hot or vice versa. Not a good experience. Food would have been passable if prepared properly. Stay away. read more

They have a wide choice of vegetables and they are prepared very well. The chicken fried steak is among the best I've had. They have a good breakfast. Honestly this place was just great. We were hungry looking for a good breakfast joint in the area that had good food and good service. The cafe is decorated with "red truck" pictures and gives off a hometown feel. It's clean and inviting. The food is delicious. I had the typical breakfast of sunny side up eggs, bacon and toast. My boyfriend ordered chicken fried steak and eggs. Both came out piping hot and cooked perfectly. Our server was attentive and friendly. She made us feel very comfortable. It's also great to see that the staff all get along and help each other out. We had several people check in to make sure everything was fine. Really awesome customer service. Fantastic! I've driven past this place for years. Just happened to finally stop in, and I am glad I did. I read some the reviews while waiting on breakfast, and I have to say that some of you are just overly dramatic and picky. The Team was awesome and friendly. Breakfast was perfect.
