For those of you that don't already know, I am a karaoke fiend. I had been looking for dive bars in the area to sing my butt off at and stumbled upon this gem. Thursday night is the night for karaoke here. They have cheap drinks and a great DJ who makes the night a total blast. Instead of playing straight karaoke, he mixes in top 40 hits so you can get down on the dance floor between girls who think they are Mariah Carey. Dining at Redi Room is like being in an abusive relationship, you get treated so bad but always end up coming back for more! I've been to the $11 prime rib dinner quite a few times now. $11 flat for salad, prime rib, loaded baked potato and garlic bread! You really can't beat that! The prime rib is delicious and if you're lucky, the cut can be about the same size as the king cut at HOPR! Just a few notes on what to expect if you're coming for Tuesday dinner.. it can be a pretty stressful dining experience. There is no waitlist or line, you come in and find a place to sit. It's usually really crowded so you'll most likely have to stalk some customers and swoop on their seats right when they leave. The waitresses are also really busy so it'll take some time for you to get your order. You kinda have to risk it and wave them down and hope they don't yell at you! I know it sounds like a horrible experience but once you get your food, it's almost worth it! (kinda) Last night, it took us almost 2 hrs from the time we sat down to get our food! (outrageous, I know. ) That's when I decided I will never be back!! Ok, who am I kidding, I probably will -_- But the beer is like 4 bucks so we just sat there and drank a lot of beers and hoped we wouldn't pass out before getting our food. Anyhow, most of the workers there are actually really nice (except one, you'll recognize who) The regulars who come in for the early dinner are also very sweet!! There is always this group of older folks who make sure we get their seats once they are done eating. Soo nice! Disclaimer: last night was the longest I've ever waited for prime rib. It's usually not that bad and I've had some pleasant dinners as well but seriously, don't go there if you're starving or expect stellar customer service. been goin here for years, since before i was 21 even. its chill, owners son is the bartender. random spackling of old people here and there, its cool as long as they dont hit on you... right next to the freeway so theres not alot of city driving through cop central usa. great for chillen, its hard to find a cool place where you can hear the person next to you. just a great dive bar, without the frills. read more

A nice little joint that seems hidden in an unsuspecting plaza... There was an interesting crew of people in the joint and they had a good jukebox. One thing I didnt like was that they dont have pitchers. But all in all I will be returning as it is very close to my house. read more

Love the $11 dollar prime rib dinner on Tuesdays. Had it wonderfully done medium-rare, though would have tried it rare if we could have found a seat earlier (really crowded around 6). The loaded baked potato was a fine side dish and the garlic beard was amazing after soaking up all the au jus. Definitely will be back to try out the salmon and chicken dinners next time. read more

We were in here on 10/29 to celebrate Halloween with a group of friends, and we had a great time! The bartenders were friendly, drinks decent for a good price, and they even had free food. Lot of people dressed up to make it festive. I'd definitely go here again. read more

We stopped into this little bar waiting for Kahoo to open. The drink were inexpensive and my Grey Hound was delightful. We grabbed a couple drinks and played pool for a few. Great little spot and interesting crowd. You've got the chill locals and the "Ryugakusei" foreign exchange students playing darts. Came with 8 other friends on a Thursday evening. They only serve 3 entree's Thursdays only. The chicken, salmon & prime rib are excellent. Dinner is served with a small salad, loaded bake potato & garlic bread. Who knew a dive bar could serve so great food. Go early as it gets crowded. This is a great cheers style dive bar. It has wonderful staff very accommodating and fast. I first came to the bar approx. one year ago and have now become a regular. The great thing about this place is that there are so many different types of people that come to the bar and connect and I have made some great friends here. This is a great place to chill with friends have some fun and great drinks. Pricing for games and drinks is great!!! One awesome draw to this bar is they have prime rib night on Thursdays. This is a exceptional tasty prime rib dinner. You have three choices of meat they prime rib, chicken or Salmon. I have had the pleasure of tasting all three and you can't go wrong. Your dinner includes a healthy portion of meat a small house salad, bake potato or rice with garlic bread. The Cook does an amazing job of seasoning the meats. I have had prime rib at the House of Prime Rib here in SF and in Las Vegas and would rather go to the Redi Room for prime rib. The added bonus is the price. House of prime rib ranges from 35.00 to 65.00 at the Redi Room your dinner is only $13. Keep in mind this is a bar first so the service is not like in a restaurant it is a first come first serve at the bar and added tables for seating. There is no one seating you and it gets very busy and they do sell out of food usually by 8pm. Since it does get busy the wait for food can run between 15-30 min. For those that have not tried you are missing out. The Redi Room is one of the best hometown feeling dive bars I have been too and I enjoying going!!!! read more

I came here on a Saturday night. Great casual setting. There are dart boards and I believe a pool table? I'm not sure. I was a little tipsy. I might've imagined one, but I'm pretty sure I saw a pool table lol. The juke box has some really good old songs, some that I haven't heard in awhile and boyy, does it bring back memories. Drinks were reasonable. 2 shots of Patron for $18. Seats are plentiful. You can sit at the bar or at a table. The bartender walked by and needed to ID me. Not a problem. This spot has a pool table, and a bunch of dart boards. It's real casual and local. It's a good spot to swing by if you're having dinner in the area or just need to blow off some steam-- quick and easy. They have a wonderful pour, and a great staff. very friendly, very nice, and they take great care of the bar. They also have a really fun group of customers too, and there is always fun music on! As a new arrival to San Jose it was great to happen upon such a great neighborhood bar. If you enjoy playing darts, like a stiff drink at a reasonable price, this is a great place to hangout. The people are super friendly. It is a biker type bar but the people are very welcoming. Some might refer to the Redi Room as a "dive" bar because it is small and caters to bikers. A lot of people are writing reviews about prime rib, but I'm a vegetarian, so I tend to wait out that crowd if I want a drink on Tuesday nights. It's a very chill atmosphere, even on weekend nights. Very friendly staff, and even friendlier clientele - I love it so much I'm there almost nightly. I've had a few good times there afternoon-drinking as well... The environment is very conducive to making friends- I can't tell you how many people I've met over a cigarette outside. If you like drinking, this is definitely a place worth becoming a regular. All types haunt this place, and it doesn't take long to become part of the family. It's an older crowd for the most part, and I'm one of the youngest regulars to be sure, but that's never hindered my social interactions here. I really don't come in for the alcohol, usually, I'm here to hang out. It's not really a place to go to get laid, but it's definitely a good location to have a good time and be amongst friends. By the way, Rochelle is my favorite bartender by far, but you'll have a good time regardless of who's serving you. They've always taken good care of me here. read more

I like a good dive bar every once and a while and this is a good dive bar. I have been here maybe ten times and actually didn't know they served food until reading other yelp reviews just now. I always just came here for cheap drinks since it is walking distance from my apartment. The drink prices are great. The beer on tap selection isn't large but they have everything you need. They always have nice people working and hanging out here too. I also like that they have hotspot here. Makes it a little more fun. The only reason I am not giving five stars is because people smoke right out front and when a lot of people are walking in and out it can bring a lot of smoke in sometimes. Bothers me a little but may not bother you. If you live close by this is a great place to socialize with friends on a super casual night. read more

If you want to find yourself a neighborhood bar, this is an awesome place. There are so many regulars & I am happy to say that I am one of them. I've been coming to the Redi Room for about 15 yrs. From what you see in the reviews they serve an outstanding Prime Rib Dinner (as well as Chicken & Salmon) for $14 on Thursday nights. This is not all year round though so you should check for the schedule. It's a bar so you come in & find yourself a seat & someone will come to take your order. This place gets packed & there are only a few people that work to serve so sit & have a drink & relax until your meal is service, you won't be disappointed. Also during most of Football season on Sundays from 9:00 to noon they serve an outstanding breakfast & cheap. The omelets they note on the menu say 3 eggs, ohhhhh no it was not, my guess would be 5. I had an omelet one morning & I was full for the rest of the day. They stop doing breakfast this season on December 11th :( You can get bottomless Mimosa's for $12 from 9:00am to 1:00pm And I can't say enough about the bartenders, they are great. I have heard about this place for a long time. I'm just now getting here for dinner because I usually work Thursday nights. For the price, it is very decent. Prime rib with potato, salad (meh) and bread was tender and flavorful. $14. Drinks were decent too...7-7 and a draft $12.50. Drawbacks were: had to go to the bar for drinks, no table service. Not that big of a deal. Bartender used the glass instead of a scoop for the ice in the drinks...could be a problem, but not tonight. Overall decent. 3 stars. As far as small out of the way "dive" bars, I'm impressed. Beats the heck out of applebees! read more

Yummy Prime Rib on Tuesdays, unfortunately the food specials are on vacation...didn't know food took vacations. ha! That's fine...I can wait. Atmosphere is nice, dive bar, but a clean looking one with a wide variety of people....some you walk into and it's like you've invaded the regular's territory and scary not this place...cool. I have to say though, whomever answers the phone in the morning is scary sounding....a grumpy bear HELLO, no Redi room...the growling sounding voice turned me off...like hmmm I want to get away from growler's, not order from them! ha! The redi room used to be a favorite spot among my friends. Two people I have been with have had car windows broken and things stolen around 8 pm. The bar is seemingly doing nothing about this problem. I will not be returning. No longer a place I feel I can park my car without my shit getting thrashed. I used to come here a lot since I lived right across the street from the Redi Room but I felt like every time I'd come here it was super awkward and weird but hey it was close to my house and I don't drink and drive. My friend and I have had some crazy nights at this bar but only because we had to drink so much to tolerate being here. The guys here especially the regulars are....how can I put this nicely...d-bags? The only fun time was mainly for karaoke but even then when you'd go up and sing you would get dirty looks and rude comments. It's like bitch! This is a good local bar.. and it is not what I would call a dive bar (dive bar implies hole in the wall). It's a standard local bar with a pool table and 4 dart boards.
