If you're expecting service make an appointment. I waited 2+ hours just to be handed back my key after almost missing my class today. Nobody ever checked with me in the lobby during my wait, The gentleman told me it would be an hour or so, however I understand that these services take additional time and I tried to be understanding as best as possible.The thing is, I wasn't ever told making an appointment would have been a better option for time at all until that was me leaving empty handed and underserved. Communication is key, communicate with your customers regarding delays or most importantly lunchtime and maybe they'll want to seek help here again. read more

I even had to take it in a week after for THE SAME PROBLEM AND even after leaving it 2 days for them to "check" THE PROBLEM WAS NEVER RESOLVED. they are unprofessional, not customer service trained and never fixed any problem in my car. now discussing my experience with them, I have learned that they carry this reputation with others. Okay this place is AMAZING. Please please go here if you are thinking about it. My car was making a weird noise when I pressed on the accelerator and they immediately got in to test drive it in order to understand what I was talking about. No other mechanic shop did that for me. Mind you they did that even though I did not have an appointment. I forgot the gentleman's name who helped me but he was so honest and helpful. He even took the time to call a dealership to make sure my car was still under warranty so I wouldn't have to pay for a brand new transmission. I wish I lived closer because this would be my go to shop for everything. read more

As a car owner who regularly maintains and even fixes her own vehicles, I am very selective about who services them if I am unable. I watched both the Kyle and Buda locations be built. And when I finally had an issue I did not want to tackle myself, I brought it to the new Kyle location. To preface, my vehicle needed a new power steering pump and I knew it a year ago when I barely made the drive across the parking lot to Firestone where my power steering belt broke. This is a secondary vehicle that I drive maybe 500 miles a year. So it was no hurry to get it fixed. Fast forward a year, my oldest is now learning to drive so I have to get it in good driving condition. Building is new so it looks fantastic inside and out. I had interactions with Scott, Bryan and Rudy, all of whom were professionally pleasant and not at all intimidating. Maybe because I already knew what needed to be done? Nonetheless, good guys. The quote was comparable to one given by Firestone BUT!!! It had a 2 year warranty versus just one offered by Firestone, and Scott was detailed in his quote given over the phone. He was also very informative during the work order. The new pump was installed in a timely manner and pick up was quick and again, very pleasant. I got a nice little history of the business from Rudy at pick up and it just reaffirmed my decision to support local business. Will definitely bring my vehicles back if I'm having one of those "I don't want to break a nail" kinda day. read more

Came super early at least 45 mins before they open. Came in for a oil change was the first person here to get serviced but yet they skipped me and went ahead and took in the other person that showed up later then I did. It's a first come first serve but I guess not. Wasted my time coming in super early to be the first one. Super frustrating when you have things to do and have to wait longer when I was here first. Told the staff at the front desk and was just told I was next. No apologies, no explanation as to why I was skipped. Customer service here sucks. read more

I cannot recommend this company enough. I got a bad tank of gas last week that fouled the fuel system in my car and lit up the dashboard like a xmas tree. Just killed my old car dead. I called Reliable Automotive and, within 30 mins they came and picked up my car, trucked it to their facility, and immediately began work on it. I was called at 8am, 11am and 4pm with status updates. At 5pm an employee DROVE MY CAR HOME TO ME. Cost was incredibly reasonable. I am literally stunned at the amazing level of service and professionalism with every single person I interacted with. read more

Shout out to Eric, the manager, at the Buda Reliable Auto. Actually I had gone to the Kyle location and got an oil change and air filter replacement. After I went I started hearing this humming sound when I accelerated. My neighbor, who is a Honda certified mechanic, diagnosed the issue as inferior air filter that was letting air into the vacuum. My friend and I were eating lunch at Beiing Bistro in Buda, and the Reliable Auto was next door. So I decided to try to get air filter issue done there rather than going back to Kyle. Eric was great. He said that yes it could be the issue so he ordered the Honda air filter from Honda immediately. He got the new air filter in the next day so I went back. He personally installed the air filter for me to save time from putting it back in the shop. I drove home and voila the irritating sound was gone!! Kudos to Eric for being so customer service oriented. I will take my car back there! read more

Thank you for awesome customer service and fast oil change! We moved from a major city to Kyle about a year ago and quickly learned that a lot of the "chain" companies had not been established here in Kyle. Shopping local is always my first choice but being new it's hard to determine who is trustworthy especially with my transportation. We had recently went to a "chain" store in Kyle and waited over 4 hours for an oil change that actually never happened. Tried to schedule an appointment but were told that appointments were not being scheduled at this time. We were recommended to try Reliable and I am so happy we did. Not only is the customer service top notch but the fact that we had our oil changed and left the store within an hour is far better than anything I could have imagined. This is the way they treat you after spending several thousand dollars on several vehicles. Just cannot believe after trying to build a relationship since October 2021 in Kyle, Texas for a dependable mechanic for my 4 vehicles to be regularly serviced to be treated like I just was. I scheduled an appointment; a week in advance, for 100,000 maintenance on a Camry that is usually out of town. I dropped off 4pm Friday and understood they would have it till 1pm (close) the following day. Javier provided me an acceptable estimate for all che check-ups and I verified it would be ready close Saturday. I called on Saturday 12:00 to find out status........they had not even touched it yet! Vehicle leaving town for another year Sunday and they wanted to keep it till Monday 1pm.......uh NO. I could have tried to get work done somewhere else if they had just manned up and said even 9 am on Saturday; hey we ran into issues or something, instead they just decided to wait till I called or even just showed up to realize it was still in the same place I parked the day before. UPDATE: 11 days later and still waiting for the follow up that corporate management said they were going to do in response to my original post. No follow thru from the top down! read more

Summary of my experience: 1) Poor customer service: lack of internal communication at the shop, slow to diagnose issues and poor follow up with the customer. 2) Failure to diagnose the problem (or entire problem), potentially poor quality parts used, maybe just a fluke and it was a bad part, or maybe incorrect installation of replaced part caused the part to fail. The part replaced may have been the issue, but the replaced part failed within a day after receiving the repaired vehicle. That issue aside the original problem was not fixed. Brought my '08 F250 (diesel) in to Reliable for check engine, wrench light, lack of power. I had brought this same truck in to the Buda location before and had a good experience which is why I brought it back to them this time. Problem #1: Poor Customer Service. I dropped the truck off and explained the problems I was having Monday late morning. By Tuesday afternoon no word back, no update, no estimate from my service advisor. I called twice that afternoon over the course of two hours and left message for my service advisor, but an hour after the second call still no response. I drove to the Reliable Kyle location and got there right before close of business. The explanation I received was...poor communication had taken place; my service advisor left for the day but the folks answering the phones didn't know that so they couldn't follow up. And I was told they were still working on the diagnosis. I did get an apology from the manager. Following afternoon, mid-afternoon Wednesday, finally received the diagnosis and estimate...although there seemed to be doubts. I authorized the work and received the "repaired" truck back Friday and had been told all codes were gone, and they did test drive it, and it was running great. Problem #2: Failure to diagnose the problem (or entire problem), bad parts or incorrect installation of replaced parts. I used the truck the next day, Saturday, and immediately there was an noise that had not ever previously been made by the truck, but no check engine or wrench. Under time pressure to get a piece of rented equipment returned I went ahead and used the truck to tow. About 15 minutes into the drive the truck was intermittently overheating and wrench light was back on. I decided to proceed with caution and made the drop off. The next day drove the truck with no load (not towing anything), again experienced the same noise that had not been there prior to Reliable working on the vehicle and wrench light also came on again. As time, and money, permitted (and fed up with the un-Reliable experience), I ended up going to another shop I had prior experience with (but also had rather poor customer service) and after they diagnosed the issue I was told the fuel cooler pump, which Reliable had said was the likely issue was making the noise and was bad. Additionally, the second shop's opinion was the oil pump was causing the issues - engine light, wrench, lack of power, and overheating issues. To end on an optimistic note, maybe diesels aren't Reliable's area of expertise, although they claim they have diesel mechanics and previously did good work for me it didn't work out this time. Regardless, I don't appreciate the poor customer service. I also feel as though it would have been easier to make a $700 charitable contribution to Reliable instead of having all the inconvenience. All that aside, I have had a good experience with them repairing my 07 Mercury Milan...that was a positive experience in every respect. However, you are only as good as your last job. read more

We recently moved to Kyle, TX and didn't know anything about any of the many automotive service companies in the area. We read a good review on Yelp of the Reliable Automotive in Buda, but didn't have time to get there before they closed. The next day, we realized there was a Reliable Automotive in Kyle so we stopped in. The service was amazing - so good, in fact, that we took our daughter's car there the very next day! The employees are knowledgeable and friendly, and the prices are affordable - we will most definitely go there whenever we need our cars serviced, and will recommend them every chance we get to do so!! read more

about a month ago i took my car to reliable in kyle. i had air condition problems.so they take the car back to check it out, they come back and the cost for the repair was 1600 dollars. so i said alright.it took 3 hours or so, then they brought around. and guess what. the car was almost in as bad shape as it was ,the ac was hot and the fan barely worked.they send it back to the back. they came back .cars fixed-guess again-no difference at all. i left and drove the car home.the next day i took the car back to reliable told them it was not working-the ac was barely working.i left then returned twice,-got no satisfaction both times.i was surprised. i have taken cars there to repair for 9 years. they have been in business.i always got good work from them respectful polite. they have changed. not for the better.i will never take a car to get fixed, or recomend then to anyone.they SUCK. dont take your car there-youll be sorry.i gave them a good review here a week before this problem.they used to be that good.l hate how things wound up .but they brought this on themselves.again dont go there and get gypped. read more

Update to my review: I took my car door off myself , bought a motor for 60 bucks. Then I test it right before I start to replace the old motor and the old motor works perfectly fine. All it was was a switch that needed to be replaced, thirty dollar fix. So this shop gave me the wrong diagnosis and charged me a hundred dollars for it and said it would be a $700 job, when it was a switch that would be probably a $100 job out the door and even that is overcharging since it takes two minute to take my door panel off, you don't even have to remove the door. Still here these idiots are that can't even see if a motor is running, all you have to do is test the switch and you can hear the motor when you take the panel off , but apparently that was rocket science to them. Don't go here they are either scammers or just plain stupid. I'm a 19 year old girl who figured this out. No experience, nothing so thank you to reliable for wasting my time and charging me money all for them to be wrong. Oh and they apparently tried to rip my door off instead of unscrewing it because they ripped part of my door out of the plastic and it's now also sticking out so I mean if you want to bring your car here for them to damage them charge you I guess they could be good for that. read more

Was on my way back to work from lunch when my radio shut off, air shut off and windows took forever to roll up. Called Reliable and explained what was happening. Ruben asked if I could bring it in right away. When I got there, he actually listened when I told him what was going on. And then took the time to explain my options. Even asked if I needed a ride back to work. He called and updated me on the issues, gave me a timeline (it may have to be kept overnight) and kept me informed. By the time I got off work at 5 they were done and I was able to drive home! The waiting area was clean, inviting, and socially distanced. Every employee I met was friendly and professional. Other auto places I've used over the years always felt like walking into an assembly line and waiting in a queue. You won't feel that here.
