Would love to see more of a "screen-free" vibe here given the tables are large and minimizes some of the seating area. Or laptops upstairs policy only. When we walked in we immediately loved the vibes and decor of the place. Coffee was great- you can really taste the rich espresso for both drinks. Wow this shaken espresso doesn't pull any punches. It looked like a masterpiece and was full on espresso. It was too strong for me, but it was great if you like espresso STRONG and without any milk or anything to cut through the bitterness. Their tiramisu was amazing. Just enough chocolate to give it that sweetness, and the custard was amazing. One of the best tiramisus I've had all year. The pepperoni pizza (I ordered a personal) was great with chewy crust and it wasn't salty like other pizzas I'm used to. Really enjoyed it. Pro tip: if you order food to-go pick it up at the trailer outside, and don't be a dummy like me waiting inside. The service is amazing, but I hope they get to know the ingredients a bit better. I went with my friend who had a nut allergy to specific nuts, so we decided to ask what the topping on the avocado toast consisted of. They were unable to identify the nuts present in the toast so my friend decided yolo, and got an anaphylactic reaction from it. It wasn't fully their fault but I think it would be wise to figure it out just in case someone else has a nut allergy. Maybe stay away from the avocado toast in general. An aesthetically cute place for a solo date to read your favorite book! I have been to Renegade at least two to three times now and I do enjoy the ambiance of the place. As a heads up there is always a lack of parking in their actual lot but there is ample parking nearby. The place itself is not too big actually but it does have two floors, the top being more of a lofty area. I would say the prices of food and drinks here are on the higher side but it's nothing too crazy when you are looking at the Bay Area as a whole. Even though I do plan to frequent here more often, here is what I'll say about Renegade. First, the drinks are not going to be spectacular. The matcha was alright, and the lattes were decent, but there is nothing to really boast to your friends about. I will say their brunch items are yummy and worth trying. Second, one thing to flag. This cafe has no WiFi so it is absolutely not "wfh" friendly if you're planning to do anything tech related. That being said, it's a nice spot for a book (there are some couches upstairs) , a place to journal, and it's a great spot to catch up with friends and enjoy a nice day out. This is a very spacious cafe with lots of big tables. Great if you have a larger group. They also took the time to make this a really beautiful, vibrant spot. My friend got the Old-Fashioned latte, and I got the Field + Flowers latte. Their menu is presented in an interesting way. And the honey on the spicy adan pizza gave it the perfect tinge of sweetness! Highly recommend. For drinks, I tried the matcha latte and the rolled jasmine tea. By far one of our favorite cafes to visit. And we are there often. It doesn't help it's on our daily route six days a week! But the food and drinks make it hard to stay away! There is nothing we have had there that is not delicious! Chef Tony always comes with the hitters! Avocado Toast (easily in my top 3), Salmon Toast (could eat this every day), Smash Burgers, French Fries (simple yet there is something about them that makes you keep eating them), and Detroit Style pizzas. A cafe for the early risers! Made my first visit to Renegade today and loved it! It's a great study space and has an aesthetic look and feel. Lots of large community tables and booth seating on the ground floor. The second floor has a lot of couches and comfy chairs. My favorite tables were the mini 2-seaters along the balcony railing on the upper floor. Parking: The lot directly outside the cafe is cramped (only has 6-8 spots) and fills up fast. I recommend parking at the public parking lot further down the street and just walking from there. (The public parking lot is free on weekends.) I visited exclusively for the coffee. I had an iced mocha which I really enjoyed! I also had a chance to try their signature, iced Old Fashioned (bourbon syrup + orange zest, non-alcoholic). I prefer the iced mocha, but if you like citrus flavors or bourbon then the Old Fashioned might be up your alley. I stayed for a few hours to read and just enjoy the atmosphere. I will say that it gets quite busy around 11am-12:30pm on the weekend. Compared to other coffee shops, the noise level at Renegade is a bit louder than what I'm used to, but I usually wear headphones anyway so it didn't bother me. I've been several times to this location. The service, the food and the coffee is hit or miss. I've been when everything from the pizza to the espresso and tonic was fantastic.
