Okay, I'm many months late in writing this review. Sorry about that, but better late than never! C and I came here on a off night (a Tuesday, I think) and it was quite late. When we first walked in we thought it was simply a bar with 4 or 5 tables. A cool bar, though. Then we realized that there is a large dining room adjacent to the bar. We liked the bar so much, we decided to eat at one of the tables there. Food: 4.5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars Service: 4.5 stars The owner came to our table to check on us and we ended up talking with him for 20 or 30 minutes. We had an absolutely wonderful evening at Reno's! It was like going to Rome without leaving NYC!!! We stumbled upon this gem by accident and can't wait to go back! The Carbonara is a thing of beauty with a silky and savory sauce that only a native Italian chef can make. We ordered a dinner size of the appetizer clams and it was amazing. The hints of garlic and basil in the well seasoned broth turned the littleneck clams into delightful bites of flavor. We could have soaked the broth up with bread and called it an evening. But then the Chicken Marsala came out. Covered in mushrooms and a marsala wine sauce that was absolutely perfect. An order of their home made Tiramisu was a fine finish to a magnificent dinner. We also met the charming and engaging owner, Reno who took personal pride in making sure our dinner was perfect. We showed up during their live opera evening and enjoyed the performance from a charming table in their nicely stocked bar. Good service, fantastic food, friendly owner - what more can you ask for? Just make sure you go hungry because Reno's has a lot that will satisfy your appetite! read more

I went for the first time today with family that have been before. It was so good, the bread they brought was a wonderful first impression. Apps were great, fried calamari, stuffed artichoke, eggplant rollitinni. My entrée was wonderful, veal saltinbucca, very tender and the sauce was light and perfect. the pasta was great too, fettucinni Abruzzu , the pasta tasted home made. Tirramisu amazing. Ive been to Reno's before and really liked the pre fixed lunch..however, I was there the other night for my birthday dinner and the food wasn't good at all. I Love Reno's. This is a classic Italian American, white tablecloth, candlelit restaurant with delicious entree's at moderate prices, however the portions are suitable. Portions are not skimpy nor family style, their smack in the middle. The owner is Italian and one of the head waiters is an older Italian gentlemen that really dresses the part of and old school waiter from an Italian restaurant (Penguin suite) lol. They are always smiling and inquiring about your experience, which is nice. The food is great, and the marinara sauce has a nice taste. You can tell a lot about a restaurant based on how their red sauce taste, and Reno's sauce is good. All of the entree's I have tried overtime have been consistently good-great. Overall in a city filled with pizzerias and Italian restaurants, Reno's is definitely one of my top choices. read more

Best Italian food in Yonkers, hands down. I came here as a clueless west coast dweller and had one of the best meals of my life. It's real authentic Italian, the owner is from Abruzzi, and he's a really friendly guy who tries to ensure that you have a good time. There was also an excellent jazz trio playing to add the relaxed atmosphere of the place. Best of all, it's a bargain in this recession, and overall just a wonderful place. read more

We went here tonight really hoping to have a good meal. After reading the reviews we were excited to try it out. Sad to say, we were very dissatisfied. For starters: the menu online was very different from the menu in the restaurant, both items and price. Second: service was terrible. We waited forever for our food and the Waiters never check on us. Third, the food was awful. Stuffed artichoke had no flavor at all. I had a veal dish that tasted like it was spoiled. I forced myself to eat it, I don't know why. Hope I don't get sick. My wife had a chicken cutlet with arugula and tomatoes. There was hardly any salad on top and the cutlet had no flavor at all. To make matters worse the waiter said that was the only dish on the menu that didn't get the side of vegetable and potatoes. So my wife ordered a side of pasta and they charged 6.95! Terrible experience, don't think we will ever return. The only good thing was the owner came to greet us twice. Nice guy. He asked how the meal was and when I told him the veal tasted bad, he said thanks for telling me. Normally the owner will comp you a glass of wine or something. But we got nothing. Long story short, don't trust the reviews here. Something is not right. Look at my other reviews. I know a good restaurant. Worked for 15 years in Italian restaurant. To be local, this place was quite sufficient. The clams gets a thumbs up but I've had better at other places and the pasta was good as well. However the Veal Marsala was delicious and extremely tender, flavor was just perfect. I'll come here again to try the other dishes being that the menu was for a special occasion, on the day that I happened to come here. They can bring the dishes out to be a little hotter, they were an edible warm. Me and my wife reserved the restaurant for our kids birthday party we spoke with the owner Reno in advance and we set up the date and had a wonderful birthday party for or two children. The owner was very accommodating and he worked with us to make everything look perfect. This restaurant is a breath of fresh air and I recommend anyone in the mood for an excellent Italian meal to go to this establishment. The staff is warm and caring and the food is excellent. We started of the part with an anti pasta of Fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, prosciutto salami artichoke hearts red peppers and eggplant. Everyone loved this as it was served family style and anyone could help themselves.The penne all's vodka is the best I have ever had in my life. The pasta is always aldente and the sauce on the pasta is creamy and rich. Their rigatoni is also excellent and truly wonderful in taste. For dinner we had the choice of sea bass chicken Marsala or veal all choice were excellent and I chose the veal. Excellent excellent meals I couldn't even finish my plate because there was so much foods. I must say you have got to try this place if you never come here. Waiter was not communicating about menu, it was only a special menu and since the place was packed, I was forced to eat what they served, which was okay pasta and weak chicken. Three times is a charm.Been here numerous times for lunch and the food and service are fantastic.Finally brought my father here on Friday afternoon.Nice old school neighborhood Italian.Started off with nice warm Italian bread.For entrée,s my father had Sea Bass with lemon and wine sauce which came with broccoli and potato croquet.Also came with fresh garden salad.He loved it.I had Italian long hot peppers sauteed in garlic and oil for an appetizer.For my main dish I had linguine with clams.Nice portions for lunch.Finished off great lunch with a couple of espresso,s with annissette.Owner is a real gentleman.My father had a great time .Be back soon. read more

Went to Reno's last night and was highly impressed! Definitely give Reno's a shot, it'll now be one of my go-to places for good Italian food in Yonkers. I went with my Dad who is harder to impress than a Zagat reviewer and he loved it. He refuses to go in restaurants where they play loud music and this place did not have loud music, had a nice ambiance, the service was great, the food was excellent and Reno, the owner made us feel like family. Excellent food and great service. I took my aunt there last evening and we shared one of the specials on the board. It was pasta with calamari, scungili, clams, olives, and garlic in wine sauce.
