Spicy Poke Nachos
Alyssa E.

Restaurant 604 offers a prime waterfront location with plenty of parking and a lively atmosphere. We had a 5 p.m. reservation for a party of eight and were seated promptly once more than half of our group had arrived, which appears to be their policy for larger parties. Finding parking was easy thanks to their spacious lot, and we were lucky enough to even grab spots near the entrance. The ambiance feels very sports bar-esque, the vibe reminded me a lot of Mai Tai's but with waterfront seating. It's the kind of place that feels geared more toward kicking back with drinks and friends than having a memorable dining experience. The food photographs better than it eats. Presentation was attractive and several dishes looked promising when they arrived at the table, but the flavors never quite matched the visual appeal. Everything was decent enough, yet there wasn't a single dish that made me want to order it again. Our party ordered a variety of dishes, and the total bill came out to about $265 including tip. What really disappointed me was learning that the fish isn't local. My partner is an avid fisherman and asked what fish was being used in the fish and chips. We were told it was swai, which is imported from Southeast Asia and typically served frozen. For a waterfront restaurant in Hawaii that leans into local-style cuisine, that was a letdown. I also ordered the miso butterfish, which happens to be one of my favorite fish dishes. While the preparation itself was decent, I'm fairly certain what I was served was not butterfish. It tasted more like a generic white fish and lacked the rich, buttery texture and flavor that make butterfish so distinctive. Service was also fairly efficient throughout the meal, with the first round of dishes arriving about 30 minutes after we were seated and the remaining meals following shortly after. Overall, I'd recommend Restaurant 604 more for drinks than for dining. The happy hour appears to be a strong draw, and I can absolutely see this being a fun place to meet up with friends, enjoy a few cocktails, watch a game, and take in the waterfront views. If you enjoy the vibe of Mai Tai's, you'll probably enjoy spending time here. However, if you're specifically looking for standout food or fresh local seafood, there are better options elsewhere on the island.

Fantastic place to eat with family, friends or co-workers just outside the Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickham. I've been coming here for years and is a regular stop each visit to island. The food is epic as is the beautiful views of rainbow marina. The servers are busy but take good care of you despite.

Regular size Loco Moco

Im a local and didn't even know about this place (I know embarrassing) but oh man were they busy! Very spacious restaurant with plentiful tables. We made a reservation and still had to wait additional 15mins to get to our table! I felt bad for the families that walked up to be on the waitlist, sorry for the wait! Menu looked very appealing and I wanted to order everything! FOOD: Loco Moco was very savory and really matched my palate, one of the better loco mocos i've had around the island Chili Tofu is on the 604 all items menu which means $6.04 for this, came out cold which is normal and came packing a punch with umami! I love kimchi, Taegu and tofu, literally this dish was made for me Mini Kalua Pork Nachos was alright. Most disappointing item of the 3 I ordered. Chips were already soggy when landed on the table. Pork was kinda chunky and hard instead of pull apart soft. Cheese sauce really threw me off, tastes plasticy and did not need to be on there, they should've subbed it with shredded cheese melted on top instead of that sauce. Service is also great! From the host to the server to the bidder and managers! they were all so friendly and professional! I felt taken care of which is exactly they do right! Highly recommend coming here for good value and good service! Avoid the Kalua Nachos tho P.S. Make reservations ahead of time, and parking is ample but can be packed so arrive timely. Ahi Tuna Sandwich with fries. Very good. Lots of seasoning..

TERRIBLE SERVICE! We should be reimbursed our gratuity and let me tell you why... We had a table of 30 people, they gave away our extra table so when our remaining 5 people came in, guess what they didn't have a place to sit after they TOLD us that we could use that table for our people who were still arriving... And then, she took half of our people's orders, and then took another table's orders... meanwhile we sat there for an hour!!! And half of our table got their food and we STILL HAD NOT EVEN ORDERED YET... She literally was like oh, I'm getting group gratuity so I don't have to give them good service! But I'm going to take care of my individual tables so I can get tips from them! This place is ridiculous. I should have said something about this waitress when I was there but honestly I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. She's lucky she got gratuity cause I wouldn't have tipped her at all which is rare for me as a prior waitress myself, I always tip! As far as food, I got the teriyaki salmon and it was delicious, kind of salty but good overall. Plenty of parking as always.

Chicken katsu

Came on a Saturday night about 6:15 with 7 of us. We waited an hour for a table. I get that Sat nights are busy, but the Mgr said he'd throw in some appetizers for our wait but never. Good thing appetizers were $6.04/each (major plus). The view overlooking the harbor is beautiful, but the vibe is more like a bar, from the surf decor to the servers in black tanks & shorts, to the loud music! Live music was great except way too loud. Amplifiers or whatever were louder than the musicians voices which was sad bc they sound so good! Sadder that it was hard to hear each other talk at our table without yelling to each other. Service was slow as you probably guessed with them being busy and seemed short staffed. The food took about the same time as it did to seat us. Altogether we had: Burger - good, charred, but the patty needed seasoning. The fries were really oily, everyone said that at our table. Spicy garlic chicken - pretty good, not too spicy itself but came with jalapeño slices Spring rolls - good, 8 small pieces but $6 remember Chicken katsu - good Loco moco - good Ribeye steak - med rare very tender inside & charred outside. The mash potatoes were too liquidy & didn't taste good Cuban sandwich - very good except the sauce on top throws it off. The owners should really listen to all the negative reviews and keep the sauce on the side! We were double charged for alcohol which took long for the server to correct it. Cashing out took very long period, it seemed like our server was on meal break. The bathroom was clean. Restaurant was clean. They had lots of signs with discount days and deals like kids eat free Sunday 10am - 2pm (may come back for that). Location is easy to find, go all the way right of the Arizona Memorial entrance, restaurant is on the 2nd floor. Throwback: i really loved when it used to be Schooners they had a really good lunch buffet and not loud music. I don't recommend coming on live music nights (Thurs, Fri, Sat) for a nice enjoyable meal or intimate gathering, but good if you like the bar scene. I'll have to check it out not on a live night or during the day sometime.

Ahi Katsu Plate

Love the food here whether it's appetizers or the entrees but if I'm being honest skip the appetizers and get the entree because the appetizers get me full , love this place and was served by Katherine last time I went, wonderful service greeted us with a smile and amazing service time after time I'm always impressed about the friendly customer service and the food here, the ambiance of this place is amazing too can't go wrong for a meal after work or a date night out 604 is the spot.

Kalua Nachos

This was a perfect lunch spot after our Pearl Harbor tour. The outdoor seating overlooks the water for a wonderful open air view. Our waitress was attentive and helpful, she recommended the ahi tuna dishes as she said they were locally caught and brought in fresh every morning. The ahi katsu was delicious and perfectly prepared. The poke bowl was also very good. They also have a "6.04" menu of small plates - we tried the spring rolls and spicy garlic chicken. They were both good but the chicken was amazing especially for the price. Definitely recommend, perfect after a Pearl Harbor tour.

Very good restaurant with an excellent view! This is an American spin to a lot of your Hawaiian favorite dishes. They have a lot to choose from. I really liked the poke nachos!

Sean Y.

Amazing view! Brought some people here for a business meeting. Service was great, food was solid. No complaints from anyone! Ordered something simple a bacon burger and fries. It did not disappoint! Cooked perfectly medium and fries were nice and crisp! Well worth it for the view and the vibes!

Kalua pork 4/5 (super salty)
Noah B.

*Get reservations! * * Kalua pork 4/5 The pork was extremely salty and delicious all at one time. Good size portion and once you order the food, it comes out 10 minutes or less. The wait for a table around dinner time was 45 minutes for one person. Also, the bar gets pretty overwhelmed with people trying to get drinks. Good food just know you're gonna be here a while. 2/12/26 7pm live singer. If you're going to sing a song, try your best to stay at one volume. You get loud and quiet and loud and quiet. I can't hear half of what you're saying. Also u skip parts?! I'm not trying to be a jerk. Just wanted to give some constructive criticism.

Miso Butterfish
Connilynn S.

If you're looking for a solid happy hour spot away from the hustle and bustle of town, Restaurant 604 is always a great choice, especially with its location near the Arizona Memorial. I've been here quite a few times but realized I've never actually written a review, so here it is! We came by on a Thursday evening and made a reservation online ahead of time (highly recommend, since evenings can get busy). We arrived about 15 minutes early and were seated right away, which was a great start to the experience. Since we checked the menu beforehand, we already knew what we wanted: the Furikake Fries, Hamburger Steak, and the Sakana No Nitsuke Miso Butterfish. The Furikake Fries were a hit. It was perfectly golden and crispy, topped with furikake and paired with a spicy & wasabi aioli that brought everything together. Honestly, I just wish there was a little more of it!Rating: 5/5 The Hamburger Steak came with two generous patties, onions, gravy, rice, and mac salad. The patties themselves were flavorful and satisfying, but the mac salad was a bit underwhelming. It was slightly dry and lacking seasoning. If you like your mac salad creamy, this one might fall short.Rating: 3/5 Now for my personal favorite: the Sakana No Nitsuke Miso Butterfish. I order this almost every time, and it never disappoints. The butterfish is beautifully marinated in miso, so every bite is rich, savory, and full of flavor. It also comes with veggies, wakame salad, and rice, making it a well-rounded and comforting dish.Rating: 5/5 Overall, I keep coming back for the relaxed ambience, consistent food, and the fact that it's a bit removed from the busy town scene. It's the kind of place you can count on for a laid-back meal with great views and reliable dishes. Overall Rating: 4/5

5 stars for the ambiance and the service. Quickly seated (with no reservation) us at a table facing the harbor. Beautiful and tranquil view of the water. Bustling restaurant with tons of visitors. Waitress came and greeted us immediately with a big smile. They are known for their Bloody Mary which is a meal in itself. Cocktail shrimp, pork belly, green bean, pepper, cherry tomato, marinated onion and olive, pineapple slice and the crispiest celery stalk I've ever had. Got the double shot which was not immediately noticeable given the savory Bloody Mary mix. But I felt it after getting up and started walking. $21 bucks well spent ($16+$5 for extra shot) Their starters menu was comprehensive but they have a special $6.04 menu which is a great deal We ordered... Bloody Mary + extra shot It's 604 Somewhere (Mai Tai?) Poke nachos... we asked for the fried won ton chips on the side which they said they can do. Folks have reviews saying the chips get soggy when tossed together. This was excellent way to serve the poke. Chips crisp all the way until the poke was gone. Spicy Garlic Chicken, which was ok. Could be crispier Additionally... They asked if we wanted a Lychee Martini on da house since the bar made a mistake so they gave it to us! So thankful to the waitress for thinking of us. This was the topper on an amazing visit

Went to this place after celebrating my sister on her reenlisting! Love the Cuban sandwich! And the whole family loved what their order. We can see the boats from our table and it's was a super nice ambiance. And lovely server!

If you're not a fan of seafood, don't let the squid deter you as it is a minimal part of the dish and added more of a crunchy textural component rather than actual flavor. This was my wife and my favorite dish. The luau pork was also very good though I liked the version we had at Toa Luau better. We also liked the haupia which was a very refreshing coconut pudding though for some reason our boys didn't like it. We also tried pipikaula which are thinly sliced dry-aged beef short ribs marinated in soy sauce and something else that made it sweet. If you know Korean barbeque, you'll instantly get the sensation that these are close cousins to galbi, though the pipikaula are much less sweet in comparison. The dry aging process also makes them a bit more dryer than galbi. On to more difficult stuff. I was enthusiastic about the fried butterfish collar but once I got a waft of the dish, I knew I was in trouble. I'm very sensitive when it comes to fish so the smell (more than the taste) was off putting. My wife was fine with it and enjoyed the dish, but if you aren't a fan of fishy fish, then I would skip it. The lomi salmon looked very much like pico de gallo with the addition of salt-cured salmon. My boys loved this dish because they love salmon but again I would steer clear if you are a seafood weakling like me. Alas, we come to poi. Had my hopes up since I love taro but the texture and a bit of sourness from fermentation deterred me from trying too much of it. I'm glad we tried it but not sure that we would get it again.

The staff was super nice about it and was able to accommodate us, with only a small request that we be out by 8pm since there was another big party with a reservation coming in. Absolutely reasonable. They sat us right away at three large tables, which gave us plenty of space for food and didn't force us to sit super close together. Menus, waters, plates, napkins, and forks were all brought out immediately, and our waiter was quick to take our order. We started with the prix fixe menu for 8-10 guests and were going to add other items à la carte, but a handful of our group accidentally went to the other Side Street location (make sure your group is all on the same page), so what we ordered ended up being more than enough. We left stuffed and with 5 boxes of food still. Edamame was nice and steamy, and large enough to easily pop the beans out with your mouth. Wish there was a bit more salt though. The farmer's salad had everything going on from citrusy to salty to crispy. Avocado had a little bit of oxidation but the capers, dressing and potato curls provided plenty of reasons to overlook it. The fried rice came in a hefty portion, with sizable pieces of bacon and sausage. The chicken I didn't realize was boneless based on the shape of the deep fry, but it was nice to freely bite into it without worrying about hitting anything with my teeth. Probably a bit too much on fried bits but still good. Pork chops had a better meat to crisp ratio in my opinion, as well as juiciness. They even came with ketchup on the side, which I love as a pairing but don't see much of at restaurants. My favorite meat item was definitely the sizzling boneless kalbi. The presentation on the sizzling plate with a side of kimchi was spectacular, and the meat was full of flavor. We also ordered yakisoba, which wasn't part of the prix fixe. Tasted good but nothing past standard expectations. We let the waiter know we had a 30th birthday at the table, and they brought a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream with a candle, and did a decent job getting the whole room to participate in the singing. It could also be the type of crowd this place attracts, since it seemed that everyone was so friendly and approachable. Thanks to the quick and consistent service, we were out in a little over an hour with no complaints.

It felt more like a neighborhood spot than a touristy restaurant, which I appreciated. We had the poke nachos, ribs, and laulau. The poke nachos were really good and probably my favorite thing we ordered. Fresh poke with crispy chips and a good mix of flavors. The ribs were tender and flavorful, and the laulau tasted homemade and comforting. Portions were solid too. Service was great the whole time. Staff was welcoming, food came out fast, and overall it was just a good experience. Would definitely come back next time I'm in Honolulu.

Mixed bag at this restaurant. My real rating would be 3.5 stars if we could give half stars…read more I had tried calling before we came in to be sure they were open but no answer. Took a chance any way. Server greets everyone who comes in. Too much work for only one server, hard to get taken care of. More than half the tables were full even before 5pm on a Saturday, and there's a steady take out business, too. Looked at the online menu since the server didn't bring us a menu and we were waiting, but it doesn't list the squid luau combo so we had to wait for the server to take our order. She did take care of us before the walk ins that were ordering take out, and we appreciated that. However, turned out squid luau combo wasn't listed online because they were out. Boo. So hubby and I ordered the laulau combo consisting of a nice sized laulau that was tasty, with a nice ratio of pork to leaves, very large scoop of rice, some lomi salmon that was mostly onions that were quite strong and bitter and almost no salmon, pulehu chicken, which was tasty and had a nice char, and haupia, which was good. So food was fifty/fifty. Hubby ordered a coke, which was bottled Mexican (means real cane sugar) which was yummy. They serve Mexican food so I guess they have other Mexican sodas, but I didn't bother to check the menu. We had to ask for water three times because the server was so busy. We had a lot left over since the portions are big. Not sure if we will be back, though. While the server was nice and trying hard to take care of everyone, having to wait to order (another family even came up to ask is they could order after waiting for awhile) and then having to ask for water three times is a turn off for us. Also - no squid luau where's Hawaiian food is served was a major let down for me.

It was love at first bite for me with musubi and onigiri, so when I saw a spot dedicated to this deliciousness you better believe I made a point to go there! I ran even faster when StaciLei, Yelp Hawaii's amazing Community Manager, told me it's a must and gave me her list of greatest hits and must not miss items as a guide! Now I've had a lot of these in my life, and I must say, Iyasume are easily the best. See musubi and onigiri have humble origins as a quickly made homespun snack or on the go lunch, and when you spot them in the convenience environment they're often a giant ball of rice with a tinge of protein or seasoning for flavor. At Iyasume, these are culinary adventures, stacked with ingredients, all in handheld form, and the variety they offer is IMPRESSIVE! Of course musubi starts with the classic, SPAM. I had to order the kimchi + spam, shiso + spam, and unagi + tamago + spam, all of which were awesome (even the next day!). Onigiri here are actually layered with ingredients, so you get them in every bite, unlike the convenience store versions! They have a HUGE menu, and I went with spicy mentaiko and salmon, spicy mentaiko and ikura, ikura and salmon, and tuna mayo curry, all of which were great. I LOVE that they make these to order. You can see the line in the back hard at work, and they're very fast. You're sure to encounter a line when you arrive, but don't be scared, it moves quickly. I only had to wait about 5 minutes for mine to come up! Well worth it. Reasonably priced. Very filling. A taste of Hawaii and Japan in one place that'll have everyone smiling!

Didn't really interact with staff as they didn't offer to help while I viewed the items and I selected my items fairly quickly. I found purchasing four musubis very affortable. Finding parking was tough and expensive in the area. Not the restaurant's fault and probably drivers are not the bulk of their business.

The guava bar was delicious and flavorful and just crumbles in your mouth! Definitely one of the better guava bars I've tried. Love how crumbly it is. The salmon belly was delicious OMFG. It looks so simple and straightforward but that sht is so flavorful. It is crispy and yet soft on the inside. The salmon belly is cut into bite-sized pieces so I didn't have to worry about using a knife to cut it. I usually try salmon belly where it is usually seasoned lightly to bring out the natural flavor of the salmon, but Guava Smoked's salmon belly is just grilled in a way that makes the salmon sweet/crispy and still get traces of the salmon taste as well. It's definitely not your traditional Japanese-style way of cooking salmon belly but really just their own. I'd go back and get this again. Another thing too. I'd get this with beer. This would hit very hard with alcohol but because I don't drink I need a kombucha. The grilled salmon belly would go perfect with it. Cheers! Uncle was very helpful and kind when serving and if you dine-in he brings it to your table.

The owner was very friendly and took the time to recommend dishes for us, including the laulau and lechon kawali. We also ordered the BBQ short ribs. Overall, it was a good experience trying Hawaiian food, but it's just not really our type of cuisine. The laulau was quite dry, and the preparation felt more like meat that had been boiled or cooked in liquid, which isn't something I usually enjoy. The lechon kawali had a crispy pork belly texture, topped with something similar to a salsa, but it didn't suit our taste either. Unfortunately, the cabbage served with it also had some black spots, which was off-putting. The BBQ short ribs were the highlight of the meal and the dish we enjoyed the most. We appreciate the experience and the hospitality, but the flavors just didn't quite match our personal preferences.

All the plates were $26.00 and up. 3. Food - The poi was very tasty and fresh, although a bit watery. The lau lau had a lot of lean pork filling, not a lot of leaves. The long rice didn't have much chicken and was a bit watery too. We enjoyed the sweet potato. There was also lomi salmon, haupia onion and chili pepper water. 4. As mentioned before there isn't much parking. The restaurant wasn't busy when we got there. Overall the food and service was OK. The price was a bit high.
