We came here for our anniversary dinner after going to the Anaheim location last year. We had the same phenomenal food experience as we've experienced several times at the other location, with even better service. Our server was just phenomenal (I can't remember her name but she worked on the 16th in the evening). She offered great recommendations for cocktails after hearing what types of alcohol we like and she nailed it - the hibiscus margarita was amazing, as was a cocktail with a Szechuan button. For food, we split the potato appetizer (my favorite) and I had the chef special which was a halibut with asparagus and mashed potatoes. I can't rave about the meal enough! This turned out to be one of the best meals I had while in Laguna Beach and I almost didn't eat here. Glancing at their menu and knowing there were a few other locations in the area I figured it was a middle of the road family diner kind of thing which we weren't too interested in while on vacation. We decided to go for it though as it was a short walk from the hotel and I'm glad we did. The fried chicken platter I had was absolutely delicious--boneless but tender, perfectly fried, paired with sauteed/grilled vegetables, excellent mashed potatoes, biscuits and honey butter...everything I had was great. The cocktails, while on the pricey side, were also superb. I went with a Vanilla Old Fashioned which was a nice twist on it (and the vanilla was flavorful but not overpowering). The butter cake for dessert was terrific--perhaps the best part of the meal. Service was friendly, making a reservation was simple (right through the Yelp app), and prices were (for the area) pretty fair (though it add up quick if you have a drink as the cocktails are pricey). Other than that and eating too much my only real "complaint" would be that I'm not sure what the atmosphere and decor are going for--Sinatra on one wall, beach photos, upscale items here and there, candlelight, mounted wall TVs turned to sports...it's caught midway between a sports bar and an intimate dining location. I'd say honestly just lose the TVs and make people talk to each other. read more

He had the stack of ribs and let me tell you when you pick up that rib bone and the meat slides right off! We ordered appetizers the spinach dip and a avocado on a tostada and for the main meal We ordered the Salmon and shredded beef and lastly for dessert we had the warm cake by the way It's must have it's so good that when you have a rough day it's something you want to have to feel better and We also ordered the whiskey bread pudding! We were excited to try out this new concept of high end (pricey) comfort food. We were with a large group so the wait staff were impressive in dealing with us, accommodating us quickly and efficiently getting all the right food to the right people. I had a BLT which was actually nothing special, but appreciated the sandwich being included on the menu. I realized it was more of an emotional grab as I would order them at any opportunity on road trips with my grandparents! I would eat here again just to try things like meatloaf and fried chicken. Portions are large so my husband and I could easily split some thing for dinner but be warned, the split charge is almost 7.00! read more

We came across this place by accident and are so glad we did! The atmosphere is very dim, but somewhat loud (at least for dinner time it is). I recommend having reservations, even though the walk in wait time is very minimal (5-10 min max in the two times we've been here without a reservation). The portions are generous and filling. There really is no need for an appetizer unless you want to splurge (in my opinion). I recommend the meat loaf, it is delicious and I don't like meat loaf. The jalapeño burger is also tasty but messy. I also recommend the house salad (random), but my boyfriend and I agree that it is one of the best we've tried. This place is beyond perfect for date night or a meal and drinks with friends. Park on highway one, stroll the beach, and come here after. Their menu has so many items we want to try - for our first time we decided to split the Cobb salad, short rib sliders and calamari. All were great, if not outstanding. The calamari is easily the best I've had in SoCal, if not ever - super tender steak cut with crispy breading, good seasoning and lots of lemon to drown it in. I normally don't like ordering salads because I find them overpriced for mostly lettuce, but their Cobb was insanely packed in with the good stuff, much to my meat-loving dude's delight. The service is what also stood out - I am horrible at names but the sweet girl that served us was always checking in, super bubbly and warm, and we loved talking to her about her favorite local spots. Every other staff member we interacted with was warm, friendly, talkative and attentive. We did find the draft drinks to be overpriced and lacking in variety, but liquor and wine is obviously their focus. read more

We visited Reunion for the first time on Saturday, August 31st at about 11:15am with a party of two. We were visiting Laguna for the day from Pasadena, and found this restaurant from an online search on the way down. We arrived and were seated promptly. It was not busy when we arrived; however, was busy by the time we left. It is a beautiful restaurant, with indoor and outdoor seating. There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant near the Von's. Our server was just wonderful. She was kind, friendly and just a joy. We had a choice of breakfast or lunch, and we ordered one entree from both. One of the entree's was the Chicken and Biscuits, and it was just amazing. The taste and preparation of the dish was wonderful. Our other dish was the Short Rib Griller. We didn't think we could get much better than the first one, and then we tasted this. It was a 13 out of 10. It was so delicious. Grilled to perfection, the combination of tastes just went so well together. One of us had added unlimited champagne, which we found was a great deal at about $10.00 per person added to the entree. The other one of us had a margarita. We enjoyed our experience so much at Reunion. We do not live in the area; however, the next time we do come to Laguna, we will definitely try it again. The food was good but they didn't adhere to most of my order. I asked for extra sauce for a few orders and was very clear about it and didn't get any, there was no to-go silverware, and I ordered the reunion combo with the ribs and chicken and it just came with a piece of chicken. No gravy or biscuit. Update: the manager reached out to me and remedied the situation. She was quick to respond and eager to help fix the issue so I can come back and try this place again. I'm updating to 4 stars for that reason. I'll try this spot again soon and update to more stars if my second time is better than the first. read more

I love Reunion Restaurant. We opted for outdoor seating. Our servers were very friendly & helpful. Pricing was not too bad considering it's Laguna Beach. What totally shocked me was the fried calamari. Never had calamari like that before. The portion was huge and it was super yummy. There is a wide variety of cocktails and beers. The only complaint was there was not enough of a stout selection but hey we totally get that dark beer is not as popular in sunny California. We definitely found a new favorite spot. We just had the best experience last night at Reunion and it was a our first time there so we will definitely be back. We had the best service from our waitress who was attentive and friendly. We ordered two appetizers for a party of 4 plus 4 entrees and two desserts and all of it was so delicious, highlight was the patty melt and the Brussels sprouts. Had dinner at Reunion Kitchen prior to attending Pageant of the Masters last night. We tend to frequent the RK+D location in Anaheim Hills as we are from North Orange County. This was our first time dining at the location in Laguna Beach and we did notice a couple of differences. We love the menu and it is the same as the location in Anaheim hills so we were really happy about that but was the quality of the food the same? Not really. We all thought the flavor of the dishes were better at the Anaheim Hills location. We ordered Rosemary's Chicken and Biscuits, Pan Roasted Salmon (which was fishy tasting), The blue cheese wedge with Flat Iron Steak (My favorite) and the Avocado Wontons. The flat iron steak was ordered medium rare but it came out extremely rare (barely even cooked), I've never had that issue at the Anaheim Hills location so I'm not sure what happened. The Avocado Wontons were overloaded with Avocado which overpowered the other ingredients in the wonton (watermelon, radish and cilantro). The Laguna beach location is very small and looked a little dingy compared to Anaheim Hills. Overall I would give this location 3.5 stars but our server Adin (I think) was very attentive and personable so I'm upgrading to 4 stars. I would have no problem giving this location another shot but I would not order the same dishes we ordered last night. Also no corkage fee just like the Anaheim Hills location (always a plus!!!!) I don't like taking my chances when ordering wine at restaurants. read more

I never had poke before but this was a very good first try to it. I would definitely come here again! I got the short rib stroganoff and it was the best entree we ordered. The chicken pot pie was more soupy for my liking. The biscuit with the short rib Benedict was too dense and starchy for it to be a balanced dish. The halibut sandwich was very clean but too many condiments to really enjoy the fish. It was my aunts birthday and they gave us a complimentary dessert! The butter cake is my all time favorite butter cake ever. The carrot cake was delicious as well! 9/10, would love to come again. read more
