First time here. Mother's Day treat. My husband reserved a table for 2.15pm. We arrived around 2pm. We were told there was a little wait as it was a holiday. Hostess said to wait in guest waiting area. There was no room so we went to the bar to get a drink. The Old Fashioned was very tasty. We were called to our table around 2.50pm. The Restaurant is quite dimly lit with candles all around. An intimate setting. I did notice a dirty mark on the tablecloth after we had been seated. We ordered quickly as we had time to look at the menu at the bar. The server brought some hot garlic rolls with an oil and balsamic dip. Delicious. Shepards Pie for me, Pork Chop for my husband. The Shepards pie is served in a small skillet which is extremely hot. The pie was extremely hot too so be careful! The Jalapeño muffin on the side was good (also hot) Pork chop was nicely charred and cooked perfectly, served with fries and green beans. Portions are good. I took half of mine home for the next day and still delicious. We only had room for a Creme Brûlée. My reason for a four star is the seating. We were placed in a busy walkway near the door and people were passing by a lot. I visited the bathroom which is surprisingly small only two stalls. When you stand up you almost hit your face into the coat hook on the door. Not much room to move lol I would definitely come back here again.

We came here for dinner for the first time and it was overall a good experience. We had a few issues with the cook of our food and some items on the menu were out. The manager was very nice and discounted a ton of our meals to make up for the issues which we really appreciated. The atmosphere is white table cloth and nice. Our drinks were delicious but I expected a little more from the kitchen seeing that the restaurant wasn't extremely busy.

They prepared this beautiful menu for us.

This was an amazing experience. We had my parent's 50th anniversary party in the wine room. The staff and servers were absolutely incredible. They helped us with every detail. The food was out of this world. My parents said it was the best thing anyone has ever done for them. All of our guests had a great time as well. Thank you for making this night so incredibly special for us all. I can't name all of the favorites but some of the things we enjoyed and are still talking about are the she crab soup, the bbq shrimp, the meatballs, the calamari, of course the filet which was amazing. We also had the cream brûlée and key lime pie. Everything was perfect.

Black grouper with Thai basil pesto, scallops, and a Company crab cake

We had mentioned we were there to celebrate a special occasion and were greeted with a glass of champagne. We were excited to try out their new chef's creations. The shrimp cocktail there is always excellent. We also tried fried green tomatoes, Caprese salad, and I had black grouper with a Thai basil pesto that was out of this world. It was accompanied by 2 sea scallops and I added one of their Company crab cakes. The crab cakes feature big chunks of crab with just enough filling to hold them together. We topped it off with an assortment of 2 sorbets. The staff was very professional and attentive. This restaurant has been a staple in this area for many years and we highly recommend it!

Toni drinking the best Margarita made by the bartenders Heather and Eddie. We love eating in the bar area.

We stood by the door and they said there was nowhere for us to wait other than that spot. They offered us drinks, which was good... but it started in an awkward way. I felt a bit uncomfortable standing next to people on the couches, while they ate. I felt we were encroaching on them. We were seated in the rear section of the restaurant. Note: The air is quite chilly in this area. (You may want to bring light jacket) Adam was our waiter. His knowledge of the wine was a huge help for my husband's paring with his meal. He explained the food perfectly and was very patient with all of our questions. The food! OHMYGOODNESS! The duck was cooked perfectly. It had a sauce that was out of this world. One of the people at our table absolutely refused to let his wife taste his chicken because he wanted to enjoy every last bite! I shared bronzino fish w the birthday girl.(not sure how to spell it) Oh My Goodness!!! Friggin amazing! The crusting was absolute perfection. The clam/sauce complimented the fish perfectly. Appetizers were on point! Cream brûlée was a bit too creamy for me, I like it more like flan consistency, but it was very good. Once I save up again, I will certainly go back.

We enjoyed the beef tartar as a starter. the halibut and the ribs were fantastic and there was also a little side dish that was made on the fly, made by the kitchen that was beautiful with mushrooms, artichokes, and a lot of other things that I cannot remember. It was also delicious. The wine selection is fantastic here. The sommelier (Adam) was very friendly and knowledgeable. When booking a table, definitely make sure you do it correctly as I was not able to get through that experience correctly but even though we didn't have a reservation, there was a very nice spot in the bar area that we enjoyed. It was still very romantic and comfortable. We look forward to seeing "scoundrel" again soon. Thank you all for an amazing evening.

It was a beautiful day, so we chose to sit outside. It is a gorgeous view and the umbrellas provide plenty of shade. Not wanting leftovers, we chose to share the she crab soup and ribeye steak sandwich. Our waitress, Keera, was very bubbly and friendly. She suggested many different add ons and I chose the creamed corn. My only suggestion would be offering a smaller portion of this dish at lunch. It was delicious and I am glad we tried it. The ribeye sandwich and truffle fries were both exceptional. Having had she crab soups at different NC and SC restaurants, I thought theirs was just ok. Not bad, but nothing to make me want to come back just to order that specific item. Mike, the manager, was very visible throughout our whole lunch and stopped by our table to introduce himself. Overall a very positive first dining experience.

They own a grocery store up north, have very high expectations when it comes to food, and we've always felt confident recommending Hall's. Unfortunately, this visit was incredibly disappointing. While our last couple of experiences had some service issues, the food and drinks had remained consistently good. This time, however, both the service and the food missed the mark. We waited nearly two hours for our meals to arrive. Every steak at our table was ordered either rare or medium rare, yet every single one came out well done. Not only were they overcooked, but they were also tough and cold! Under normal circumstances, we would have sent them back, but after waiting two hours and dining with children, we didn't feel like we had much of a choice but to eat them. A manager stopped by our table, but instead of asking how everything was or acknowledging the obvious issues, he simply asked if he could bring us anything else. There was no apology, no attempt to make things right, and no offer to comp any part of the meal despite the excessive wait and improperly cooked food. When we later asked for the manager to come back because we wanted him to know how disappointed we were, the response was to send us home with dessert. We all politely declined because we didn't want dessert--it wasn't the issue, and it would have gone to waste. For a restaurant with Hall's reputation and prices, we expected much better. It was embarrassing to have recommended it so highly to family, only to have this be their experience. We sincerely hope this was an isolated incident, but after multiple disappointing visits, we will take our $900.00+ dining elsewhere!!!!

Hubs had the meatballs (which the server said they only had two left...a friend nabbed the others) and other friends had the moules (mussels) frites and the braised short rib IIRC. The *.frites were the biggest hits. My filet was perfect, Sharon was raving about her mussels being the best she's had in ages. I had a bite of the meatballs, they were ok but people agreed there are better things on their menu. I love that the frites come with a choice of 3 out of about 10 different custom mayos (aiolis for the fancy-schmancy). I tried the curry, sriracha, and a fruity one I can't remember exactly what it was. I liked the fruity one the best and to my surprise, the curry the least (I usually love curry, but the balance was off). The sriracha mayo was too subtle for me, I slather sriracha mayo on my burgers regularly. I have no class. The frites were fresh cut and I enjoyed them but there were far more than I could eat on my plate, and sadly frites don't keep. They have my favorite super sweet Lindemann's framboise lambic on tap; I've only ever had it in bottles before, so that was a treat. My husband thinks I'm crazy to drink it because it is SO SWEET but I love it. So does Sharon, and clearly we're not alone or they wouldn't waste a tap on it :). It's beer for people who hate beer. (I resemble that remark. Maybe hate is a strong word. But in my 30s I realized I'd rather drink a soda than a beer, except for this one.) Desserts sounded good but we were too stuffed to order any. Next time I come, I may try the mussels, or I might just order that steak again.

It's in a basement that feels like a pleasant dungeon or a 1500's rogue tavern, you know, the kind in the movies where plots to overturn evil rulers are hatched. It is a unique vibe and after your meal, when emerging back onto the brightly lit street, it's akin to stepping out of a secret place and back into the light of day. The beer selection is impressive. This food is Belgian inspired. Hence the name being derived from a mix of Trappist Monks, trap doors, and a hidden underground enclave. Many of the beers have higher alcohol content, listed on the menu, be advised. The specialty is Moules Frites, mussels prepared in various broths and fries double fried in duck fat served with a flight of your choice of flavored mayonnaise such as wasabi, curry, truffle, sriracha, etc. Very good. Reservations are highly recommended. It was a busy Thursday at 6:30pm and the place was literally packed, even the bar. The two of us were seated in a large, dark, alcove booth fitting for six or perhaps even eight. We had a reservation, so the hostess said, "we may as well fill it" since it was that crowded. Being such, it was five minutes before we were noticed and placed our drink orders, another five before our water arrived and we ordered and about 30 minutes later to get our food. In between we were left to ourselves. The service was not negligent, but it was minimal and not really friendly either. It was a busy night, so we will have grace. But the mussels were delicious. We both had the Provincale, a rich, savory, Mediterranean sauce of tomatoes, garlic and white wine. Bourdain says "never order the mussels", in his Kitchen Confidential book, but here you are safe because they are very popular and the main feature. I've probably said this before and it is worth repeating, they need to up their crusty bread game. The broth is so good and the accompanying bread just doesn't lend itself to bringing the dish to another level, but it could were it better bread. This is a solid and must do restaurant experience when visiting Greenville. It arguably should be the "one" restaurant you must visit in town because of its unique ambiance and unique food & beverage.

The interior is well decorated like a cozy lodge. Expect groups of people dining in. We're both foodies, being brave enough to try the wild game meats. We ordered the alligator bites(chicken nuggets), wild game sausages came with horse radish and honey mustard sauce(3 different wild game sausages: buffalo, venison, elk); thick like lumber jack sausages), spinach bacon dip served with corn chips (bacon tasted a bit gamey but its good) and buffalo bone marrow canoe ( a bit overcooked and dryed;not much marrow inside) for our appetizers. We tryed the huntsman platter : New Zealand Venison Chop( texture like pork, earthly and slightly sweet), Kangaroo Strip Loin( tough/meaty) and Antelope( like lean beef). The seasonal specials that wasnt on the menu is the Ostrich. We were curious about it since alot of visitors highly favored it over other game meats. So we ordered a small portion to try. The Ostrich tasted amazing similar to filet mignon Our server recommended us to try the meats medium rare to medium well so we did. We ordered too much food so we took the rest to go. Overall a great adventurous experience for our taste buds. The food came out a reasonable timing.I wouldnt order the meats pink again,I would recommend it cooked well done. Having it served medium rare makes it more chewy and gamey. I went home with the rest of my leftovers and fully cooked them, it tasted so much better. Next time we are in the area were going to try the non-wild game menu items. The staff and servers were very attentive and informative about our whole new experience.
