    Cheeseburger and fries

We saw an advertisement stating River City Cafe had the best hamburgers in Myrtle Beach. So being a hamburger lover I had to see for myself. Well we were not disappointed. We were seared outside on the water. The hamburgers were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The service was very good. An overall perfect experience. If you are a hamburger lover don't pass this place up.

This place was a short walk from the hotel where we were staying, and it was convenient to order takeout from here on short notice. We had a Carolina Chill burger and clam chowder for lunch. The place was quite empty during lunchtime on a weekday. The food was neatly packed, and the staff was nice. Coming to the food, both items were great. Portions were quite huge, and each item tasted delicious.

Stopped in for lunch today with some family after a morning of fishing at Murrells Inlet. When we arrived, the small eclectic burger shack was near empty but began to fill as we got closer to noon. The place is decorated with signage and license plates. Apparently you can also sign the walls or decor if so inclined. They also provide free peanuts if you want some prior to your meal. We were seated and greeted by our server who took our drink order. Once we got our drinks, we ordered our food (burgers all the way around). Two boys got a bacon cheeseburger with fries, I got the continental (bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg), a RC burger, and a fried shrimp platter. Three of us upgraded onion rings to our meal and all meals come with cole slaw. The food was really good and filling. The boys demolished their burgers. Their onion rings are massive (see the pics). My youngest son could not finish his meal so they gave us a go box. Service was a little slow/ inattentive at times and drinks went empty at times. You can pay at your table which is helpful but they tend to want you to pay right away. Good option for the beach when you have had enough seafood. There are several locations in the area also.

Would give a million. Stars if possible. Best burgers in the world. You don't come for the decor but it adds to the experience. Staff are friendly, food is delicious and prices are reasonable. A true must try!

The food was great! The server was friendly and brought everything we asked for! The decor and inside were fun for kids. The get to write on every area of the restaurant.

First time diners at the Murrells location. Best burgers we have had in quite a while. Service was fast and professional. Just a very unique place with fantastic food and service. Will definitely be our go to spot for burger

The whole family loves their burgers. I had a jalapeno bacon burger, wubed out the Gouda for cheddar cheese. Onion rings were crispy, staff was friendly and attentive. Will go back again!

This is a "peanut-shells-on-the-floor" kind of place. Honest, good food. Burgers and fries are great, but try grouper reuben.

Before our meal, they brought out warm hush puppies with what I believe was honey butter, and they were so good they disappeared in no time! The atmosphere is fun, welcoming, and family-friendly, and the live music made the whole experience even better. It's easy to see why Dead Dog Saloon has been featured on the Travel Channel and in Southern Living Magazine. Great food, generous portions, excellent service, and an awesome waterfront atmosphere make this a place we'll definitely be coming back to. Highly recommend!

We've been coming to this area for more than 20 years, had family homes in the area, so we've had…read morean opportunity to try many places over the years, but today was the first time we tried Dead Dog Saloon. Let's try the good first. We arrived and we're seated immediately, but was also arrived just before 5pm, and it was already packed. Not surprised as it is the peak of the summer season. Our server was pleasant and attentive, and in my opinion, that was pretty much the extent of the " good". The "OK". - the food was just that, ok. The cobia had no real seasoning on it, if it weren't for the butter sauce, it would have had zero flavor. The fries are obviously from frozen and cooked until very crispy, almost hard. The mac and cheese sampled from my wife's plate also tasted like a mass produced, frozen deal. She said the scallops were good, and the shrimp I sampled were decent. My son enjoyed his fish and fries, but he's 6. The "bad"...since I'm using those words. It's loud, and got louder around 5:45. No surprise though, it's called a saloon and the reviews clearly say it's loud. Be prepared. Parking. I guess if you can find a spot on site, you're good, but the pay lots across the street are $20 for 2 hours...the least you can get. And again, something I failed to read, researcher whatever, but the pictures of all the 4 legged friends that have crossed the rainbow bridge that adorn the walls, it was, to me, a bit of a buzz kill. I quite frankly never realized it's concept was to honor actual dead dogs. My bad. We've been, and I honestly don't expect well go back, at least not for a while. I'll give it another shot, but in an area like this, there are always new places to try, ones that have been open for 30 years, and ones that have been open for 30 days. It's important to make a good first impression to generate return business.

Hannah provided us with excellent service and was well versed in the prep and presentation of the food. Well done Hannah!! Our flat bread appetizer hit the spot and the crust was amazing. Both the pulled pork and pastrami sandwiches were on point. If you up for something spicy, try the jalapeño baked beans. Loved em! We had banana pudding for dessert and if I were to make a single negative comment would be the mason jar serving vessel for the pudding. While certainly nostalgic for a BBQ place, I couldn't reach all the nooks with my spoon to get all the last bits of delicious pudding out. But don't worry, will be back for another helping. Very cool spot and I bet it's great when there is live music and during bike week. Thanks again to all.
