R'noh Thai is soo convienient to me on all aspects. It's down the hill from my house and 5 minutes away from my job. So I constantly think about this place and how consistent they are everytime! I rarely come to dine-in so this review is strictly on the take-out but boy o boy they dont skip a beat. When you walk in everyone greets you very friendly and they also probably know me by name now because I go there soo much. My usual order is the Pad Se-Ew with added beef. Oh man, this is probably my favorite in Marin! Flavors are there without al the fish sauce flavor most pad se ews have. I always love to add spice to it, quick hint ask for some chili powder/flake gives it a bit of a zing but WORTH it! Would love to dine-in sometime. they have a beautiful patio that over looks the Larkspur canal. read more

Take out review: Pretty authentic in my books coming from Thai Town, Hollywood. R'Noh is decent. A friend of a friend lives in Larkspur and orders take out from them all the time. We had take out and got Pad Thai (I thought it was a bit too salty though, but it was good), the chicken eggplant was awesome, and panang curry was good. The brown rice is also good. Been here 3 times now. It's been mediocre but today it was just bad. Order the Thai Beef Salad. The meat tasted like it had been soaked in teriyaki sauce! Yuk and way too sweet. Every thin piece was burned and tasted burned leaving tiny pieces of charcoal all over. Way too many red onions, and celery.? Sadly only TWO tiny leaves of mint The dressing tasted like vinegar. We have been going to R'noh Thai for many years and it's still our favorite Thai restaurant in the world (and we've been to Thailand). I was concerned to read another review stating the quality had diminished but we went ahead and ordered takeout on a Sunday night. It was delightful and as great as always! (note: order early as waits are typically 45 mins+) The lamb in curry sauce is sublime, with tender huge chunks of lamb floated in a delicately scented curry. The basil chicken is the best I have ever had, with huge slices of carrot, peppers and big chunks of broccoli. No ground up vegetables here! The BBQ pork is lean pork that's been pounded very flat, beautifully seasoned and then seared over a grill which leaves the grill marks, accompanied by a sweet honey/garlic sauce (which we don't use). Just wow. The entire meal was, as always, wonderful, and the family that owns and operates the restaurant is always welcoming and smiling, despite some very difficult clientele (Marin Karens, you know who you are...) There's also a lunch special with pretty much the same menu, where the plates are accompanied by a large salad, which I always ask for dressing on the side. They have a lovely back deck for outdoor dining and a view of Greenbrae and the Bret Harte hills. I love R'noh Thai... it's one of those gems that I hope will always be around. read more

Delicious dinner! There was 8 of us loud diners at our table land I am sure we were challenging. But the waitstaff did very well. I would recommend that they bring a carafe of water to the table next time we they are busy. Every dish we had was amazing. I had a stir fry with chicken. Other dishes were chicken satay which was so tender and the peanut sauce was nearly perfect-I like it a little more spicy. Both grilled pork and chicken were generous portions, the curries, all yellow in this case were very tasty. I don't eat rice and I was told the coconut rice is awesome. They did run out of brown rice but that was ok. For someone like me who can't process starches, which includes most grains cauliflower rice would be a nice option. All in all an excellent meal, the typical gracious hosting by the Thai owners and workers. Highly recommend. The best Thai restaurant in Marin. Great food, really friendly people, and good vegan options. I recommend the Pad Kee Mao if you want a noodle dish. Thai Iced Tea with coconut milk is great too, if you want something sweet to drink. Great ambiance whether you sit inside or on the patio. This place has taken over Arawan as my number one Thai spot in Marin--I'd only consider going to maybe one other place and only if R'noh is closed (which they sometimes do, so check online or call before you go). R'noh Thai is a cozy restaurant located in the larkspur commercial district. It's tucked away off Magnolia Ave, so make sure to keep your eyes on the lookout. The restaurant shares a parking lot with several other businesses... parking is scarce. Once you found your way into R'noh, you're instantly greeted and seated @ a table. As far as size goes, R'noh is on the smaller size and like I said earlier, feels "cozy." From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was dining @ someone's home. Your dining experience includes a toasty fireplace and a lit candle. The only con I could say is that the tables are close to one another. If you're someone who likes their privacy and dislikes people listening in on your convo... look elsewhere. On a positive note the staff and our waitress were incredibly friendly! The dishes we ordered today were: -Crispy Spring Rolls (not my fave) -Chicken Pad Thai w/ no tofu -Veggie + Tofu yellow curry -Order of brown rice. I can't complain of either dish. Great views outside, but no heaters so make sure it's warm enough. They do have umbrellas for a sunny day. The inside has a warm atmosphere with dark red walls, simple decorations and a central fireplace. The fireplace wasn't on when we were there but I can see this being s pleasant feature on s cold day. Recommend reservations on a Friday or Saturday night, especially if you have a group and/or you want to sit outside. read more

4.5 stars for the food rounded up for the friendly service, nice outdoor atmosphere, and great views. They have an outdoor patio and were accommodating to us bringing a dog. We got the tofu with stir-fried eggplant, chili, garlic, bell peppers, egg, basil and bean sauce (~$12). This dish was AMAZING. The sauce was so addicting especially with rice and the eggplant was perfectly cooked. You could really taste the basil flavor. Our favorite Thai restaurant - probably ever. Really outstanding. Everything is fresh and never over or under cooked. The chicken is tender, the seafood is always fresh and generously portioned, the tofu is similarly high quality. Great options for brown rice and wonderful vegetables. The flavors are rich and varied. I wouldn't say that this is the most authentic Thai restaurant - it has a bit of a California feel to it, but I think that we may like it all the more so for its emphasis on fresh produce and beautiful, clean presentation. I love R'noh Thai Restaurant. I was sick of going to the same Thai restaurants in Marin, and found myself with limited options. I immediately went on Yelp to try and find a fairly close one. I found R'noh Thai, and with the great reviews, I thought I'd try it out. R'noh Thai is in a great location. It has wonderful views, and a homey, neighborhood feel. The ambiance was great in R'noh Thai. I felt as though I was in Thailand. The service was incredibly kind and fast. I of course ordered a thai ice tea, and that came first. It was honestly one of the best thai iced teas i've had. We ordered the Crab Wonton as an appetizer, Mango Salad, Tom Ka, & the chicken House Special. The Crab Wonton was stuffed with yes, crab, and a strange creamy cheesy filling. I liked the crispy shell of this wonton, but not the creamy cheese type filling inside. It made me feel a bit sick. The Mango Salad was refreshing and clean. I loved the taste and texture of this. The Tom Ka was great, and I will order this If I come again. I highly recommend it. The chicken house special was fresh and flavorful. Best Thai dish I have had. I highly recommend R'noh Thai, as I feel as though it is the best thai food in Marin, hands down. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST THAI I'VE HAD IN THE BAY AREA. My friend arrived from out of town and wanted Thai. He's very picky, having eaten all over the world, and everything's a test. Will they speak to him in Thai? Is the decor authentically Thai? Is the spicy beef salad good but not too spicy (you say not too spicy "my pet" in Thai). And, of course, the Pad Thai is the test... One by one every test was correctly addressed--not that I cared about any of them--I just taste the food and decide. First were the crispy egg rolls--perfectly cooked, light, not oily, delicious. Described as, "mixed vegetables, shitake mushrooms and silver noodles, deep fried and served with peanut sweet and sour sauce." We all agreed they were perhaps the best egg rolls we'd ever had. Next came the Yellow Curry Chicken (mild, no, none of us like it hot), and it was just perfect--"special homemade blended herb, coconut milk, potatoes and carrots. served with cucumber salad." It was light, flavorful, just lovely. My personal favorite was Thai BBQ Pork: "pork loins marinated with honey, garlic and thai herbs. served with sweet & spicy plum sauce." This was SPECTACULAR--the pork pounded thin and grilled, so tender, moist, flavorful, and perfectly carved so there was no fat at all. This place never disappoints. Joe and Nok and their team provide the most warm and friendly service in town. On top of that the food is consistently delicious. There are all kinds of options to please even the most picky eater and they are more than happy to accommodate various food preferences. We've tried other Thai places but they just can't compare. Tom Ka Soup-Veggie(coconut milk soup with lemongrass, galangal, mushrooms and lime juice) and a side of coconut rice. The raisins in the coconut rice make for a perfect addition. The service is always great here. We call and order ahead so they have it ready for us when we walk in the door. The ladies are all very polite and attentive. I never have to ask them to refill my glass(I'm very big on having my water cup filled) and as soon as they notice you're done eating they clear the dishes right away. You know, considering this is one of Kentfield's very few native restaurants, it saddens me to know I can't leave R'noh a 5-star review...while their food is quite delicious, it suffers from having Baan Thai (formerly known as Orchid Thai) within a several mile driving distance towards San Anselmo. The several times I've ordered take-out from R'noh Thai instead of Baan was due to reasons I can't remember, such as not wanting to drive so far...their menu's are similar yet different, with the primary difference affecting our family is the lack of Thai BBQ Beef on their menu alongside Thai BBQ Chicken and BBQ Pork. Their chicken and shrimp pad thai is on the level, a hit or miss based on how well it's cooked just like it is at every other thai restaurant. The only dish you can bank on being delicious is the chicken satay, which is simply skewers of chicken dipped in peanut butter sauce. This is one of the places that does it right and better than their nearby competitors. My mom and sister used to get some sort of yellow chicken curry I believe, they liked it but I never tried it. HOWEVER, I must say I've actually been here one time and eaten at the restaurant instead of taking it out. The food was probably twice as good. Had I only eaten in and not just gotten take-out every night, I imagine I would've liked R'noh Thai much more. read more

I appreciate it is covid, I appreciate dinner rush. I don't appreciate being lied to twice about the food being ready and then blaming the door dash driver for the delay. 70 mins after ordering, I called the restaurant the first time because the driver wasn't moving. They said order would be ready in five mins. After 15 mins, the driver reported that the order was still not ready. I called for the second time, the woman said the order was ready and the driver wasn't there. She then went on and on about how the drivers lie about being there, the door dash driver then texted pictures to me proving he was there. 20 mins after the second call, he still hadn't left. I called again and the woman said she just gave the driver the bag but that we should have known it would take 2 hours due to the size of our order, 6 entrees. However, driver still says he is waiting. 2 full hours after ordering, driver is given a bag and leaves. Turns out the restaurant gave him less than half our order. I get being overwhelmed, it happens, but don't tell me it's done and then never even give to the driver. And then blaming the driver is ridiculous. read more

Lovely patio deck seating with a great view! The ambience was a little nicer than an average Thai restaurant, and I suppose this is why the prices were slightly higher. The outdoor seating really made the overall dining experience what it was, as the food was average. I was pleased to find that when I requested medium spicy it was just that, and my sauteed eggplant was quite good. My friend, however, ordered the Thai BBQ pork and was rather disappointed to find that it was simply several cuts of pork placed on some shredded lettuce; it appeared to be more of an appetizer than a dinner course. read more

The food here is fresh and delish. I've returned several times after initially experiencing this restaurant. Among the selections I've tried were the Mango Salad, Buffalo Wings, Himmapan with Chicken and brown rice. I've also had the Thai BBQ Pork which are chops thinly sliced and Coconut Rice. I haven't really asked to make the dishes spicier which I normally do but find that the dishes are not lacking in proper seasoning. Atmosphere - I'd describe as cozy and Thai decor. Service - I have only ordered take out for this restaurant and can say that my order is ready and no major wait time if I arrive too soon. Parking - I can see where parking may be a problem if it gets busy because of the limited spaces available. Street parking in the immediate area is not available. As a traveler to this area, this is one of my favorite restaurants to dine. For employees at Marin General have a less than 5 minutes drive. This place is pretty good for Thai in Larkspur. We've not eaten in the restaurant but have gotten take out. The samosas are good as is the shrimp egg roll. The pad Thai and pad see kew are good too. This place is not cheap. The food quality is good but the amount of food you get is on the lesser side. Again, good food and well seasoned, but a staple such as pad Thai should easily feed two people and even with a small appetite, it's a stretch. read more

Hidden away, this Thai restaurant is a little gem. The food isn't outstanding, but they do have some organic options, a long menu, outdoor seating, and nice decor. It was my second time eating here, and I was less impressed this time. I opted for chicken pad se ew since I loved it at Lanna Thai in San Francisco, and unfortunately it remains so, because R'noh's is less flavorful somehow, and just didn't catch my attention as much as Lanna's. Nevertheless it was good and I cleaned my plate up. Otherwise, I tasted some of my fellow diner's eggplant tofu dish, and the tofu is fantastic! You'd never know it's tofu because it's so delicious. If I were able, I would give it 3.5 stars. For Marin, this is above-average Thai for sure. But the quality is increasingly hit/miss, and, of late, they have gotten my order wildly wrong more than once for takeout. The Meing Kam was presented as separate parts , which I prefer, and was also good. Some restaurants have started mixing the Meing kam ingredients all together.
