We came here for a birthday dinner in March. I will say the appetizers and main courses were amazing for the most part and we basically ordered everything. I'm taking off stars for 2 things. One was the service because our waitress was visibly annoyed and snappy most of the night but we ignored that. Maybe our party was too large for her. I never got to try the desert because she brought out the platter of selections and only allowed the birthday boy to order while the rest of us were trying to tag her down, she completely ignored us and brought us our bill. It looked good but didn't get to try it myself. The other thing is a lobster bisque. I ordered it as take out this weekend and I have never been more disappointed. It has the lobster bisque color but tastes like potato soup. No meat whatsoever, the flavor is all wrong. Maybe we'll try the brunch one day. read more

Came for Valentine's and it was a very nice experience. Staff is super vigilant; we were checked on constantly, plates cleared immediately, glasses refiled automatically. The owner even came by and checked on us. The food is very good, if a little pricey. Lobster bisque was the highlight for me- best I have ever had. We have yet to make it inside. Called twice and have a reservation. Came to check in and they don't have our reservation. Said they could seat us in a few min, then within 15 min. Now it about 25 to 30 min. Not starting off with a good experience here. Update- owner came to check on everyone wait and was very nice. Apologized and did what he could to make up for it. Once we were seated our appetizer came out quick but everything else took some time to come out. It turned into a 3 hour dinner. And my steak was well done and well chard but I had ordered a medium. Over all, the food was good, BUT, they have it priced like they're downtown. Two big complaints, we ordered bruschetta for an appetizer. The topping was good but the toasted bread underneath was too hard to even cut with a knife, and inedible. And this was $15.00 for 4 small pcs. My second big gripe was the entertainment they had in the lounge was SO bad! Two guys singing that I'm sure must have been playing for nothing! They were awful! They would have been much better with piped in music! And it was coming through the speakers all through the restaurant. read more

The one good thing I can say about this restaurant is our waitress was great. Otherwise they did nothing to upgrade it from the the previous owners (louies chophouses) other than the prices. I really wanted to like this place. It's close to home. I've heard good things about the place. Perhaps other menu items are good but the crab stuffed shrimp over grits was not. Our waitress was amazing. My wife had a burger. It was good, but its just a burger. Nothing amazing. I was under the impression that stuffed crab meat would be stuffed crab meat instead what I got was like a undercooked crab cake with over cooked shrimp. Then the grits were absolutely horrible. To thick and not creamy at all. I told the waitress and she took the plate back. A half hour later!! I got another plate to go.. that was was better the crab meat was good. The shrimp were cooked right. The grits went straight into the trash. Still to hard and good at all. Would I go back? Honestly probably not any time soon. Went to Rockefeller's for the 1st time tonight. I had a T Bone and wife had Chilean Sea Bass, the portions exceeded our expectations, the service was great. Had a couple of drinks, very generous pore, met the owner Nick, this guy knows how to run a restaurant. Definitely a must go for a south slider. You have to be a Rockefeller to eat here!!!! My husband and I decided to try Rockefeller's this past weekend. I went on the website before we went only to find that there were no prices. We figured how expensive could this be? It's a south side restaurant in a middle class neighborhood. We found out after we sat down at our table. The waitress brought us our drink order. My husbands scotch and water was mostly water. My wine was good. ( one positive) We figured the specials might be more reasonably priced after we had seen that a rib eye steak was $55.00 each. ( after I came home from this restaurant,I searched on line for rib eye pricing in the neighborhood. I found the two other local restaurants pricing their rib eyes at $34.00 and $36.00 with them being all around the same size). The special was prime rib with mashed potatoes no vegetable but a salad was included. We ordered the prime rib meal. It was $42.00 a piece. We were really looking forward to the meal. My husband ordered asparagus for $8.00 . Vegetables are alacarte. We waited for our meal to come. No second drink was offered during this time or anytime for that matter. Our meal comes and it had a Demi gloss sauce it. The sauce was salty and smelled like beef base. The asparagus was burnt and dried out. No sauce should be on prime rib just au jus or a nice horseradish sauce,on the side. The bill came to over $100.00 without the tip. The waitress apologized ,she did not know the prime rib was served that way. If she had read a description, I would have had the sauce on the side and asked for horseradish sauce. The experience was a bad one. We took home the leftovers and I used it to create another meal after I rinsed off the "Demi gloss". Wake up Rockefeller's you are in a middle class neighborhood with people who love to eat a good meal reasonably priced. Instruct your staff how to make a good drink and ask the guests if they want another round. I also suggest have staff read the full description of the meals. The service was the best thing at this place. The food was a HUGE disappointment. It was very bland and prepared in advance to keep the people moving in and out. This place is amazing! We went to celebrate our anniversary and had never been before. It is a refreshing experience on the south side! The food is fabulous with a downtown steakhouse taste! Stopped in last night with my wife for my daughter for the first time since this new restaurant has opened. The Decour is updated in the bar area has brand new large screen TVs. We were immediately greeted by our server who provided drink options which were welcome and right on the spot. Extensive appetizer menu with some excellent options. The dinner menu kept it simple to steaks chops and seafood. We had the lamb chop lollipops, (my favorite) the crabcakes and the Ahi tuna. All were fantastic and cooked perfectly. We all had fillet with a potato side but we also added the lobster jalapeño mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was a little on the spicy side and absolutely delicious. You know you are having a perfect steak when you can cut it with a butter knife and do not need to touch any salt or pepper. The steaks are all finished off with a small pad of butter on top that was melting as it was served. Ended the meal with a piece of tiramisu which my girls said was as good as they've ever had. The owner Nick came over twice to check on the meal. Truly a lost art that the owner make sure that your meal is prepared well and you are happy. I will recommend this restaurant to all of my friends and certainly visit here frequently. The food was good and the service was excellent. As others have stated, it is very over priced. If you are going to charge $50+ for steak, it should be Morton's or Gibsons quality. It's nice here that at least you get a salad or soup and a potato included and the salad was great. Miscommunication happens but the server knew exactly what he was doing, either that or couldn't handle all the tables. Who orders lamb chops as an appetizer and a full course lamb chop meal... why would I order the same thing twice for one person. One glass of wine turned into a bottle, didn't even ask us, just simply poured the bottle in our wine glass, forcing us to pay the fee of the bottle. Everything felt forced, the server just wanted a bigger bill for his bigger tip. There were a few things that bothered me about the whole dinner expectation,this was not the valentines dinner we expected, and to be honest if it wasn't valentines I would approach things differently & actually say something to the manager. Awesome new spot in Oak Lawn. The owner Nick is an awesome guy who is extremely hands on and really seems to care that his patrons are having a good time. The new menu is outstanding and has a downtown steakhouse feel to it. Great Apps, fresh oysters on the half shell and Oysters Rockefeller's were both outstanding. Lobster bisque is dynamite and is poured table side, would love to see the server offer fresh cracked pepper table side, but it was great. Have split the tomahawk ribeye and it was perfectly prepared both times we've had it. Would love to see a dessert menu added but hopefully that come with time. Highly recommend Rockefeller's, it's a much needed option in the neighborhood and great replacement for driving all the way downtown for a good steak and a few drinks. read more
