Ordered take out to support local shops. I was very happy with the service we received, the inside was clean and tidy and service was prompt. We ordered the cheese bacon and classic Burger with fries and onion rings, everything was delicious! Buns were soft and toasty the meat was flavorful, juicy and cooked perfectly medium. Really clean restaurant but a little small. Even more smaller when one person sits in a booth by themselves(so irritating and inconsiderate) and there is a handful of people inside. I too went at opening day and had to wait a bit for my burger. Given the street fair going on I kind of expected a wait but thought given the fair going on the wait was actually not bad. The staff was friendly and trying to help customers out as much as they could. I ordered the BBQ burger. and a soda. I could tell they were still new as they forgot to pour my soda. The burger tasted great which is really why you would come here or come back here. On the downside (and as listed on the menu) it was just a regular burger with BBQ sauce. My suggestions for this place are 1) Add something else to the BBQ burger (maybe mushrooms, bacon or grilled onions - or don't charge an extra dollar for just to put on some BBQ Sauce. 2) Turn the soda machine around so customers can pout their own soda's. I like having the control to pour my own soda. Im summary this place has good burgers and good vibe. As they get more experience it will be a great place to stop for a burger. read more

Best veggie burger ever!!! I was randomly looking online to see what restaurants have the impossible burger and was beyond excited to find one in Hayward. The impossible burger is literally the best veggie burger ever. I got it as the hangover burger (minus the bacon). Not gonna lie having the fried egg inside the onion ring is pure genius. Decided to try this place since it was brand new, and its an "ehhhh okay" place. Cashier was very friendly, but the wait for the food was just a bit ridiculous. An order of 2 burgers and 2 fries took about 45 minutes to complete. I know its brand new, so id expect a wait, but not 45 minutes. Finally the Manager came out and finally helped us with our order and it was done in about 5 minutes. Bravo! Now the food, food is pretty good. Good amount of fries and lots of avocado, which I love! Fries were perfectly fluffy, and burger was somewhat mediocre. Cold buns and too many veggies. Overall a good place to start off with. I've had both the regular burgers and the vegan Impossible Burger. Both are delicious, and the Impossible Burger is easily the best imitation meat I've ever eaten. The Sweet Potato waffle fries are also delicious (why they don't advertise the 'waffle' part of them, I don't know), and they taste great dipped in ranch. Rockit feels a *little* overpriced, which is what holds it back from five stars. The Impossible Burger is pricey everywhere, sure, but twelve dollars (plus an extra dollar and thirty-five cents for avocado) feels like a bit much, and five dollars for Sweet Potato Fries with an extra fifty cents for ranch is a little steep. Overall, though, this is definitely worth checking out. read more

I've been here several times and never been disappointed. Today I ordered online via Eat24. The system was super easy and fast, allowing for preferences and specifications. My food was hot and ready when I arrived, albeit later than intended. My burger was cooked perfectly as I indicated online. The bacon was super crisp and the avocado was awesome. I asked for my fries to be extra crispy, which they were, even after my delayed pick-up (no fault but my own) and then driving home to eat. I work across the way on A Street and have been wanting to check out Red Rocket for a while now. I don't eat meat so I called in to see if they have a veggie patty (Not listed on their menu, I don't think) and they do! They grill onions and mushrooms and shape a patty out of it and hold it together with 2 slices of cheese (your choice). It was really good, a unique way to offer a veggie option. Their fries are yummy, too. I couldn't finish all of it, the portions are very generous. They offer a discount to people who work in the downtown area-- very cool! The staff are SO nice, especially Elias but all of them on shift were polite and helpful. I will certainly be back and will be telling my coworkers! read more

Yes! What a great spot to literally stumble upon. My husband and my twins were out and about and my husband and I had not eaten yet and the twins already did so we were looking for somewhere we could find them a light snack or dessert. I had the best chicken sandwich I have had in I don't know how long and my husband had a fantastic Burger they were kind enough to split a milkshake for our twins. Before a little live music show up at The Bistro, my man and I decided to grab something to eat to kill a little time and fill our tummy's When you walk in you order at the counter and then we went and got drinks and sat down. Thats when I noticed the cook yelling out numbers for orders that were done. The order taker never gave us a number and there was nothing distinguishable on the receipt to let us know what our number was. While he was very friendly I think he missed a step in the process because it wasn't just us who were wondering what food what whos-is-whats its. I ordered the Shroom'n Chicken Sandwich with Cheese Fries. Sorry to say a very lack luster sangwich. The bread was hard as a rock and only had mayo on the bottom slice. The top piece was dry as the desert. I finally just went and got a fork and ate the meat, shrooms and cheese together. I liked the cheese and mushroom combo and the chicken was alright. They have a pretend manager named Leo who decided to curse at me over the phone, because I asked if there were alternative options to the egg bun they serve for a the (vegan) Beyond Burger. When I stepped back inside the establishment to ask who the manager was that cursed at me this guy looked surprised and tried to tell me they weren't going to serve me. I asked him was he the person On the phone. It took someone else to intervine and tell me that the manager wasn't there. Meaning Leo if that's really his name lied and isn't the manager. They tried to prevent me from being able to file a complaint. So I walked out of the establishment and started recording the interaction so I could file a complaint against Leo. I was threatened by the same employee who intervened that they would call the police on me for recording them. Being African American we know what that means. I knew I wasn't doing anything wrong so I pointed at a parked police vehicle. The woman who threatened me demanded that the cop stop me from filming. He informed her I was doing nothing illegal and had every right to record the interaction. She decided to lie and tell the cop that I was being aggressive for no reason and that they felt threatened. She was trying to make me the bad guy so the cop could arrest me. The cop was very professional and calm and informed her that he would get my side of the story. He kept it real and asked me would I ever comeback here and spend money I said no. The cop saw I instead had food from Metro Taquero told me to enjoy my evening I left. The pretend manager should be fired. His behavior can impact the business overall and that's selfish to the others that work there as well as the owner/owners who run the business. I'm really surprised by some of these reviews, although I did have my first (and so far only) order delivered by DoorDash. I'll have to check it out in person. But what I did get was awesome! I'm a bit of a foodie so can be particular and have struggled to find any good restaurant in Hayward. This place promised a backyard BBQ quality burger and totally delivered! It tasted just like a burger off the BBQ, which I LOVE! Even the single burger was a decent price for the size and definitely the quality, compared to places like The Counter, Five Guys, The Habit, etc. French fries were good quality and the milkshake was good (although both would have been better if DoorDash hadn't gotten lost but that's not Rockit's fault). I will definitely be frequenting this place again. If you're craving a great, authentic burger you should too. read more

Burgers look decent but service is horrible. There are two people working tonight t 7pm. . One is on the grill and the other taking orders and doing everything else. We enter the place and are standing to order. The person taking orders can't be bothered to say hello or acknowledge our presence. We stand there for at least 5 minutes without any acknowledgement. We came here for the tofu sandwich and were not disappointed! The sandwich is very messy, but it was worth it. The sauce is delicious and the produce on it was very fresh. We really liked the grilled onions and mushrooms that came on the sandwich. We also got fries which were perfectly cooked and a large portion for the price. Not entirely good, not entirely bad. ENTIRELY slow, though! It was not busy yet our ordering process took a while (the cashier was slow) and then we probably waited 25 minutes for our order. Seemed like the case for every customer there. I was happy to learn they'll cook a burger to your requested temperature but disappointed when they proceeded to cook mine to medium well when it was ordered medium rare. My husband's was cooked properly though. The burgers just tasted charred - I don't know if that's precisely what they're going for ("Char" is in the name after all), but it's hours later and I can still taste the char in the back of my throat - not pleasant. I did like the fries even though there were a bit too greasy. Overall, not really a solid burger place and I'm still on the hunt to find one in the Hayward area! read more

A burger place... Pros: close parking, friendly service, outside attracts customers, and the inside has a good atmosphere. Cons: what drew me in was the poster of their "new" pork belly burgers. Not having a burger available that's the only poster on the window is very disappointing. I settled for a flaming mo burger. For a burger, garlic fries, sausage sandwich, and milkshake took me 35$ in the pocket. I wouldn't mind if it was tasty, but it honestly wasn't work it. 25$ for everything would have been a fair price for the food. 20$ would be a steal. Would I come back? Not for this price, especially for the fact there is a wing stop next door. Not to mention the various other places to eat nearby that wouldn't hit your wallet as much. If I am spending "the counter" prices, I expect something on the same level. I feel bad that I didn't enjoy the meal cause the staff was extremely friendly. Even after the fact they forgot my milkshake too, they were very apologetic and tried to make it right. I ordered the 17 dollar burger and was slightly disappointed. If you plan make a burger that tall, at least put those long toothpicks so it won't fall apart. These fries requires you to order in restaurant. Once i received my order the cheese was hard. Great combo of flavors but try a cheese that does not coagulate. This place is in the heart of downtown Hayward which is great for business and is located two businesses away from the main Hayward movie theater which means this place can fill up out of nowhere so be careful! You'll have to either park in the Hayward parking structure for free passing the store and making a left or taking a right (it's a one way street) and parking in the adjacent lot which is also free. Prices for the food here are a bit too much in my opinion. Yes, the food is good but I don't know if it's worth what they're charging. Simply put, don't come here for your 3-5 dollar burger. On the plus side, try their Rock-it fries, they look amazing and I'm sure taste great. Customer service-wise the workers here are very perceptive and friendly which is rare from a non-big business burger establishment. They were working hard but I noticed that the wait for food was quite long but nobody seemed to mind the wait.
