First time going to the Windmill Food Hall and came across Rolled Up. I ordered the Works Burrito, Bulgogi Burrito, California roll, and couple musubis. Took close to 30 minutes after ordering for the food to be ready. Unfortunately, the kids really couldn't really eat anything because this had to be the toughest seaweed to chew I've ever had. The musubi was also cold. All the items were kind of hard to really enjoy because of this and was pretty bland even with the sauce. We were really hungry and was hoping this spot was going to taste really good, but I don't think we'll be repeating here. read more

I ordered $122+ worth of food this evening with a lovely lady at the counter. Little dude with blue hair did not know how to handle dispersing the food once it was ready. My husband noticed that a large order was sitting at the counter that was clearly ours. We chose not to have a receipt printed and we were not handed a buzzer with a number on it. Little blue haired dude proceeded to mouth off to my husband when we politely inquired about the food sitting beside him on the counter. Without making eye contact, he repeated a number. We politely said we did not have one but my husband recited the entire order to him and he still he would not give out the food. Mind you, we were the only ones with such a large order. He continued to mouth off to my husband and the other customers whose order he decided to ring up when he should have been helping us figure out the next steps to who the food belongs to. We enjoy eating here but not enough to tip first and receive this kind of service. DO BETTER. As repeat customers I find myself annoyed that I have to write a poor review but maybe little blue hair dude will be retrained with better customer service. Had to try this place out after looking for sushi on the way to Orange County. It was conveniently located off the 5 in Carlsbad at the Windmill Food Hall! Parking was easy and the food hall is a great spot to catch a break and hang out! (they serve alcohol which is a huge plus) Their signature item is sushi burritos & we enjoyed the new experience to have sushi. The burritos were a great size and definitely got us full and ready for our trip ahead. The full menu consists of sushi rolls, poke bowls, and sushi burritos. For people who are looking for meat options, they offer bulgogi in items like the surf and turf burrito & spam musubis. Vegetarians can also enjoy their veggie roll. Rolled up. I agree I got rolled, but that's about it. What a joke. If you know what good poke' is, for sure pass on this dive. You're getting a meager, overpriced simulation of what the rice base is of an inferior poke' spot. I never saw or tasted any fish. Period so forget about having any raw fish or real poke'. Do expect un shucked/peeled edamame' and extra charge for mayo/teri sauce to add to your ball of white rice that you just paid $21 dollars for. Learn from my mistake & just pass. read more

Being someone who loves sushi, this is definitely a great place to stop. My friend had talked about Rolled Up and wanted to introduce it to us. I walked around Windmill Food Court and decided that I was wanting to try some sushi. I had never tried a Sushi Burrito before and have heard a great deal of good things about it. I ended up going with The Works Sushi Burrito, and man was it delicious. Loved the great selection of fish, tempura, and vegetables that made up the inside of the burrito. High quality ingredients. My burrito took about 15/20 minutes to be made, whilst others in my group only waited for about 5. It was fantastic, but for $20 I would say it definitely is an expensive meal. Food is good but get ready to be up charged for everything. Dipping sauce wasn't with my roll when I picked it up so I walked back to get some and got attitude from the server telling me that it'll be $1 for a tiny cup and after I explained that I never got any I was met with an eye roll and was reluctantly given some. With the burrito being $20 that's ridiculous and I don't care how good it is, not paying for attitude and extortion. Later. Plenty of better options. read more

We finally made it to Windmill Food Hall for a casual lunch and this seemed like a good option since it was so hot outside. We went a little crazy and got more food than we could eat but everything was delicious, especially the Rolled Up Poke Bowl. Poke in San Diego usually doesn't hold a candle to poke in Hawaii but this poke was super close! The ahi tuna was fresh, the sauce wasn't overpowering, and the rice was perfectly cooked. Service was great and the staff took the time to explain the menu items and give recommendations. Such a good pick for a satisfying lunch that doesn't weigh you down! read more

This place is found inside the Windmill Food Hall. I love its like a eatery that is very much like an eatery at a mall. The options of food is high, the price is kinda high too, that's probably the worst thing I can say about this place. I am a big fan Rolled Up. Its one of the few places, to about only places that you can get sushirritos. What's not to like, its's like ordering a burrito but with sushi ingredients. I got the Crunch Lil Guy. I have to say that it was yummy. I recommend asking for some extra sauce. It taste really good with the food. They also have a hibachi grill that they grill food on. Not gross but just skates by as edible. Small and not very diverse menu, they expect you to primarily be here for the sushi burritos. The sushi roll I got was incredibly small, just like a grocery store grab...even served in the same containers. Not appetizing. The fried onions on top I'm pretty sure came from a can, and did not compliment the roll at all. Nor did the green onions. Arrived 7/14 at 4:35 pm after driving quite a way to come here. The sign said they will return at 4:30. We decided to go get a beer and wait thinking they'd be back anytime. We came back after getting our beer and waited until almost an hour past the return time of 4:30- almost 5:30. No one ever showed back up. They also lost a lot of other business from customers with families who walked up and left after seeing the sign. Probably an easy ~$500 dollars in sales. Was traveling for a while and came across this food court in Carlsbad. In the back is this very nice seating area and there it was, Rolled Up. I haven't had a sushi burrito before and was greeted by Shinae at the front. She was knowledgeable of the menu, took into consideration my specific preferences, haha and suggested "The Works" sushi burrito. The place is a 10/10. Delicious food and fresh. No complaints. I told my toddler aged son to choose a healthy option for lunch and he chose to have a California roll and GOBBLED it up. He absolutely loved it. I got the Korean BBQ Sushi Burrito and thought it was good but the meat lacked flavor. I still enjoyed it because it was fresh and light but I probably wouldn't order it again. This doesn't matter a TON but was a bit annoying. They forgot to turn on our beeper so we didn't know that our food was waiting us for a long time. I would give this place zero stars if possible. Ordered a bulgogi sushi burrito and a poke sushi roll... and it was terrible. One small step above airport sushi. Tasted of nothing and the beef had zero color, no seasoning and appeared steamed. Sushi roll was also terrible. The seaweed was so loose and gummy my child choked on it, and he loves sushi. Save yourself the money, Sprouts has better sushi for far less. read more

After a day of shopping at the outlets, my husband and I head over to the Windmall Food Hall to refuel and relax. The Windmill is a super chill spot with a diverse selection of food vendors. It's as eclectic as Liberty Station, but more chique and accomodating. Tucked away towards the back, we found Rolled Up and we're so glad we did. The menu has various tempting options for bowls and burritos, but we had a craving for rolls. We ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll and the Poke Roll and both were impressive. While both are traditional rolls you often see at other sushi joints, these rolls stood out and are deserving of a stellar review. The spicy tuna and the ahi tuna poke were super fresh, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and all of the ingredients were on point. I could tell that the chef takes pride in his craft, which is key to any diner because I'm sure we can all agree that sushi is an art form, and presentation matters. (I wish I had taken pictures, but a special shout out to the chef will have to do.) The owner was incredibly sweet, answered our questions about the menu, and gave us recommendations of what to try when we come back. All in all, it was a memorable meal and we're glad we chose Rolled Up among all the vendors at the Windmill. Most definitely won't be our last. read more

My new favorite sushi place in North County! The staff were very nice and friendly, and the service was beyond outstanding. They are very accommodating to your needs if you're on the pickier side. Luckily you are able to customize your order to your liking by adding or taking out whatever ingredient you like/don't like.
