Roma is mandatory stop for me, whenever I'm in the area, which is pretty frequently. I go to a casino in the area and work up a pretty good appetite at the tables. When I'm done gambling, I go straight to Roma's EVERY time. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area but Roma's is my go to. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. In fact, staff isn't the right word, family is more like it, because whether you're a first timer or a regular they treat you like a VIP. The service is ALWAYS prompt and timely. I think that I've tried every sandwich there and they are all super delicious so you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorite is the turkey deluxe, which is turkey, jack cheese, avocado, and bacon along with all of the regular fixings. Bottom line is that Roma Deli is second to NONE!!! read more

Come here weekly and the workers are always very friendly. Sandwiches are delicious and always consistent! Hot pastrami, Sausalito supreme and BLTs are some of my favorites. And of course it's a must to get the Dutch crunch bread!! They also have a great variety of chips and drinks to choose from. I used to love this place, great sandwiches. So sorry to tell all you loyal customers this is no longer the case. I never thought I would refer anyone to subway rather then a neighborhood deli shop which has been as long as I can remember. Today is that day. Do not go here! It's a fair warning. Sandwich was dry as hell and no where near what they used to be. For the new owners my best advice is rethink your recipes or how the subs are put together because this was utterly embarrassing to order a very elementary turkey sandwich and end up with something barely humanly edible. read more

This place is SOOO good. When I walked in with my boyfriend, we were greeted by a nice man at the front. He had asked if we have ever been there before, and told us what the most popular sandwiches are. I ended up getting a small 6 inch salami sandwich, and it was amazing (and SO FILLING)!The garlic sauce is YUMMY! My boyfriend got a small turkey and cheddar. All together, it came up to $14.85. Customer service is amazing. Everyone is so nice, and they take time to make the sandwiches. I will definitely be back when I come to this side of town again. I was in a turkey sandwich craving and found this place on yelp. In the past I've gotten Little Luca's which is huge in size and the quality to me is alright. I decided to try a new place and found this. This place has a whole parking lot right behind the location with plenty of parking. From the back of the parking lot, you can cut through a small alley to bring you to the store. Upon entering the store, I was a little surprised at the layout. In my head, I was imagining a little shop with a small sandwich spot in the back. But you walk in and bam - there is the sandwich station. They have daily specials and also a wide range of meats and sandwiches you can chose from. I got my turkey club - turkey, bacon, avocado and the whole shabang of sauce and veggies. I didn't want mustard or pickles which they cross out on a sheet of paper and started making my sandwich. I got my sandwich on dutch crunch and let me tell you - the bread was amazing! They toasted it perfectly and it was so delicious! They have multiple sizes including small and large. I got a small one and my price came out to be a little over $8, which is pretty good. I don't think they offer any combos - with drink and chips or at least they didn't sell it to me. They do have such a wide range of chips that I've never seen in my life (check my pics). All in all - this place hit the spot. No wait in line, plenty of parking, and definitely great size if you order a small! I would definitely come back. Word on the street is that Roma deli is now under new management. Believe me that I was in disbelief when I first heard the news. Today I tried my go-to sandwich for the first time since the new management. The entire time I was eating my sandwich all I thought was, "it doesn't taste the same, there's something missing, the new management must have changed the recipes." I was so disappointed. Until....... on my very last two or three bites I noticed that they forgot to add the American cheese. Oh lawd, there was something missing!! The cheese!! You can't have a sandwich without cheese!!! As far as a sandwich shop can go, that's where Roma's is at. They make an amazing sandwich with fresh meats and veggies, Sue there is just so nice she'll come out and have a conversation with you and remembers you if youve been by before. The prices aren't bad either, they're about average for a full size sandwich but of much better quality. My suggestion though, go for a sandwich on a Dutch crunch roll. read more

A hidden gem!! The deli followed covid guidelines, staff wore masks and had a few tables for indoor dining. I took it to go, and they were kind enough to bag it and bring it out to us. Was in the this area doing an errand and was actually going to a boba shop a few feet's away from this place. Decided to grab dinner as well so I walk down the street looking for a good place to buy it. I usually don't do spontaneous drop ins. I usually research it through Yelp first. But I took a chance at this place because it looks old school and there were people in there when I walked by so I figured it can't be that bad. Plus, it has Boar's Head meat. I was looking at the menu and the Asian guy at the cash registers gave me recommendations. He told me to me take my time, which was reassuring, and he also asked me if it was my first time there (I think he kinda knew since he probably remembers most of his regulars). I decided on the turkey deluxe sandwich with everything. The Asian guy, which I believe is the owner, said it was his favorite. The sandwich was very good. Every bite has flavor. I ordered a 6" one instead of the 9" and it was plenty big enough for 1 to 2 meals even. I found out this is a family-owned business, just like many businesses in this area. It's good to go with gut feelings some times when choosing a place to eat. This time, my gut feeling paid off. I shall be back. read more

BEST DELI PERIOD. Sue is one of the sweetest, most hardworking lady I've ever met. No matter how busy it gets, she ALWAYS has such a bright smile on her face. I absolutely love her positivity & attitude. She remembers every single one of regulars and even remembers many people's names. Before you get too quick to judge like, why are Korean people making my sandwich at an Italian Deli?? Just trust me, they know what they are doing!! & you are in great hands of an amazing sandwich. It explains why they have an overall rating of 4.5 Stars. And you will definitely regret it if you don't get their Dutch Crunch Bread. Nothing beats that crunchy, soft, sweet roll. Little Lucca's or anywhere else CANNOT top their bread, I promise you that. Their sandwiches are very simple & basic. But what stands out for them is that they use the highest, most fresh quality ingredients like the Boar Meats brand. You can really just tell the difference in their quality. If you're a first-timer here, you should most definitely get the Turkey Supreme Deluxe. You get everything in it! Avocado, Jack Cheese, Bacon, Fresh Turkey, Garlic Sauce and all of the good toppings. What a weird find in San Bruno and quite unexpected. I had picked up the sister from the airport and we were driving down to Monterey to spend a few days to check out the sights but before driving down, we wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. I had been on this street before for some other eateries but the yelp reviews caught my eye on this one and the simplicity of eating a sandwich before the drive seemed just right. Parking can be a bit challenging as it is limited but thankfully (or unthankfully) it was pouring outside and it was also Christmas eve which made parking a bit easier than normal I imagine with a spot right out front. Honestly, when I walked in I did an internal SMH as I figured this was one of those times that yelp had overinflated a rating. The joint itself is not a fancy looking spot and their menu is just simple with proteins and just a few specials with all most of the meat seeming to be boars head. They have chips and drinks and that's pretty much it. The positive is they had some tables around as well which is a nice tough making it easy for folks to sit down and grab food. There were a few ladies and one man working the counter with the man taking orders and women building out the orders. The joint honestly had such a weird façade to it that I expected just a mediocre sandwich at best. The order process was efficient and right to the point. I went with the Turkey Supreme on Dutch Crunch without onions and sat back waiting for the outcome. The ladies were quick despite multiple orders piling up and finally our sandwiches were ready. When I opened the wrapping I was already content as the sandwich was packed and there was no skimping of ingredients. The dutch crunch was also well made and had the perfect texture you would expect from a solid dutch crunch sandwhich. The turkey meat was great and the entire sandwich was made quite well. What really took me by surprise as it is not advertised is the spread they place within the sandwich itself. It has the standard mayo and all that jazz but it took me a good solid 15 minutes to figure out that some of the flavorful awesomeness was coming from the garlic spread. It is out of this world good and goes perfectly with the sandwich. This honestly surprised the heck out of me and it probably one of the best sandwiches I have had in the last few years. On top of this, it seems like a mom/pops shop which I just love seeing when they do something so well and subtle. I opened a conversation with them and they were super friendly despite being quite busy. Honestly this is where it is at folks. Hate to give bad reviews but I bought three sandwiches here today which one was a club. The guy asked what I wanted on it and I said just as the club comes. Well it ended up having pesto/garlic sauce, mustard and onions--none of that comes on the club and those items are not listed on their menu. My son's sandwich was supposed to be on sourdough bread but it was on sourdough roll which was very dry. My husband had a roast beef and cheese and the roast beef was so old and dry it was like beef jerky! This used to be a really good deli years ago. We won't be going there again! read more

I thought I was done with Yelp reviews, but some places just rein you back in. This place is phenomenal. A star that shines brighter than other stars. A place that ruins all other places for you. If you are in the area, and you want a good meal - go to this place. It is a sandwich place so go with that knowledge of course, but you must go here. The area surrounding it is filled with two hour parking spots, which is more than enough time to dip in and order a sandwich. I've only gotten the Turkey Supreme - but it was phenomenal. I am talking about the type of meal that when you take the first bite, you are surprised how good it is and are eager to eat it all. Also it's filling. This is big for me. I've been to fancy restaurants where I pay $95 with a $20 tip and I end up going to BJ's an hour later because I am starving. They'd be closed due to a flood by the shower I'd rain on them with stars. THIS PLACE IS COMMUNITY Sue knows everyone and everything. She knows your order before you know your order. She knows my whole family, my family's family, family's friends, coworkers and enemies. This is the one place, after ten years, that never changes. Tried a gyro here and it was pretty tasty! (Who would have thought to look inside an Italian deli for a good greek gyro?) The bread, veggies, and meat were all relatively fresh, and they applied the perfect amount of sauce. The only gripe I have about it was that it was 5 bucks for a gyro that's about the size of a chalupa from taco bell .(sorry I don't have a more appetizing reference food) If I hadn't tried the huge gyros in New York that were under 3 dollars, I would say that this place is a really, really good deal. Not very happy when I saw the woman making my sandwitches touch everything in sight including the meat of my sandwitch with her bare hands. No gloves. Hands sweat, excrete oils, and have dirt under the finger nails not too happy. Not to mention the risk of cross contamination. I observed her serve sandwitch after sandwitch without washing hands. Sandwitches do not compete with little lucca in ssf. They are very dry and bland in taste. The meat is very rationed, they weight it to make sure they dont over serve you. I was not impressed. I grew up around the corner from this spot and it was the go to spot for sandwiches. I believe this is where I was introduced to Dutch Crunch bread. Those were the good ole days. 16 years old, the only thing of concern was whether or not I'd make it back to the house in time to watch Scooby Doo with the gal I was courting. Kinda like the AT&T Uverse commercials, I am reminded of what life was like pre DVR. Fast forward nearly 20 years and I found myself back here. I was around the corner at my folks place, doing laundry, starving and decided to hit up Roma. I knew the old Italian family sold the place years ago but it's pretty much the same. Same menu board missing the same letters; Same wooden chairs and same smell of garlic wafting in the air. The place was packed, the two ladies making sandwiches were busting their ass and it still took nearly an hour for me to get fed. As I was sitting patiently the lady behind the counter was nice enough to let me know, a few times, it was going to be a while, which we all kinda just knew and dealt with. The phone was ringing off the hook and I kept thinking, if you dial up a deli, they don't answer the first 6 times you call, what makes you think they will answer the 7th, 8th and 9th times you ring??? The place was an absolute mad house and I will say this. My sandwich was pretty damn good. Loaded high with turkey, bacon, pepper jack, avo and their special garlic sauce. Dutch crunch was toasted up just right and I definitely enjoyed my lunch. The problem being that the memories I have of this place far outweigh the current moments of this place. read more

One thing that was a little different was that it takes 10 minutes for them to make a sandwich. Maybe they really take their time? I was craving a sammy while waiting for an oil change and checked to see if Grand Leader was open. The second result on yelp search was this place. Ill admit it, the number of reviews and the raving reviews of friendly Korean owners brought me in. I don't really speak Korean to shop owners unless I'm at Korean restaurant and speaking it benefits me. They were as friendly as fellow Yelpers have mentioned but it took quite some time for the sammy. I like that they toast their sandwiches as well. The oven roasted turkey with bacon and avocado on dutch was great! The quality of the meat is really there and the bread I thought was better than Lucca's (which I find too sweet sometimes). Love the not as sweet, toasted, thin, dark dutch they have here. I think I've found my new local spot instead of supporting the overhyped and super busy chains nearby. read more
