I've been here 3 times now, all for take out, and every time I have loved my pizza. Today I got an asparagus, lemon, goat cheese yummy number that was just excellent. I've had another that had chili crisp on top, and their vegetarian options are so good. Since opening a few months ago, I've been to Roma Roma a handful of times. They've changed up their pizza offerings and system a bit since opening, and they might still be changing things up in the future. Who knows. When they first opened, they were selling pizza by weight, so you would go up to the counter and ask for a quarter pound of this and a half pound of that, etc, and then they'd cut it up to order depending on the weight requested. Now, they've switched to selling by the slice. I don't mind the change, as the pricing seems to be pretty much the same as it was before. Plus, now that the slices are pre-cut, this actually helps the line move through more quickly. Their selection of pizzas has definitely changed, although they seem to have some standards that are always there. The rossa, which is a very tomato-forward no-cheese pizza, the white hot, which is a cheese-forward no-sauce one topped with heaps of parmesan chili crisp, and the pepperoni are pretty much always there. The rest of them seem to rotate based on what ingredients are in season. So a while back they had one featuring asparagus, and now they have one covered in slices of summer squash. They always have a few options that vegetarians can eat, and the rossa one has no cheese base and you can probably ask them to hold off on shaving any parmesan on it if you're vegan. Honestly, I have never had a pizza here that I didn't like. And, I like that you can order a little of everything, so that you get a nice variety of flavors at once. I think the variability in their pizza selection is both a blessing and a curse. I really like that each time we're here there are new options to try, and they tend to highlight peak season ingredients which I think always makes for better food. However, that also means that sometimes you might show up and if they've run out of things you might not have much to choose from. If you eat everything, that's not a problem, but if you have a dietary restriction then it is a bit hit or miss depending on what's available. You can, of course, wait for them to make new pizzas, but when you're eating with people whose pizzas are already available, that throws off the pacing by quite a bit. Generally, since the pizzas are already made and all they do is heat them up to order, food comes out very quickly. You bring a number to your table, and they bring the pizza out on a tray to your table. Prices are also very reasonable, which is refreshing in what is generally a very expensive neighborhood to eat out in. Overall, I think Roma Roma is a really good addition to the neighborhood and I plan to keep visiting. read more

Came in around 1 pm on a Saturday and they were not busy at all but they had very little options. Half the pizza was almost gone and they were making more. The service was quick and there was plenty of room. This place is very well designed. Constant theme, and vibe throughout the whole place. Lots of natural lightening and high ceilings. The ordering process is really cool you can have him cut any slice and weigh it for you and you pay by the pound. Very easy to try all the pizzas if you want. Pizza took a good 5 min to get to our table. They warned it up put some more toppings on it. The crust on the pizza was a little dry and honestly just tasted like it's been sitting on the counter since the night before and they just reheated it. Not bad but not what I was expecting. The crust also had a good drench of olive oil. I love olive oil but this was a little too oily for me. The sauce was good, you can tell you use good quality ingredients. Cheese & pepperonis SO GOOD! 10/10. We liked everything on the pizza but the crust. Maybe just not our style kinda of pizza. But overall great experience. The staff were so kind and patient even with a line out the door. I loved the vibe of the seating area, and the store is great to walk through. I got a cheese pizza and chocolate chip cookie. Was excited to check out Roma Roma and Roman style pizza for the first time. Came for lunch with a colleague on a weekday and was impressed. Pizza by weight and cut with scissors, it's warmed up in the oven and then finished with additional toppings. The woman who helped us was knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant has a modern, clean aesthetic. My colleague and I ended up sharing: Pepperoni: a classic and my favorite of the 3. Spicy Meatball: solid, but not my favorite. Had a bit of kick to it. White Hot: definitely got that crunchy spice feeling with the chili crisp. All three slices were very good. I liked the crunch of the slices but did think they would probably be a touch better if they were freshly baked. I ended up taking some home as well. Added the mortadella pesto to the mix and that was a really good addition. We reheated the slices in the air fryer and that was definitely the right call. If you like mixes of strong flavors, this pizza might be for you, but I'm a traditional Italian, and I'm used to fewer toppings with more natural flavors. The flavor profile of these pizzas is definitely not Italian, very garlicky and very strong, kind of aggressive to my taste buds. The pizza crust is actually very good, crispy, airy, light and easy to eat. Again, if you like strong Italian American flavors with lots of strong toppings, you might like this place a lot. We got the gabagool and pepperoni with straciatella on top, and they were great! Was bummed they didn't have the diavola but that's what I get for going at 3pm. Came here on Saturday for lunch and was not disappointed at all. This place is unique in the fact that it is sold by the pound ($20/lb) instead of slices. We got 3 slices and it was around $12 which isn't bad to be honest. The service was good and the place was busy but not too loud. Foodwise: we got the spicy Bolognese, kale, and Brooklyn. The pizza was really really good. Love their crust. It was crispy and soft. The flavors was also distinct and you can taste the components in it. One downside is that you need the to the pizza as soon as possible because the crust did harden and it got chewier. Overall, a pretty good pizza place. read more

Roma Roma has naturally leavened, Roman style pizza. They have a variety of options, I remember there being at least 9 different options on display. You can then ask them to cut a rectangular slice as big as you desire, they then weigh the slices and sell it by the pound. They were about $20-$22 per lb. The interiors were very clean and had a fun colorful vibe. They also had lot of plants inside adding to the vibe. The servers were very friendly and service was very quick, luckily we did not have a long wait even though we went on a Saturday night. The pepperoni was very delicious and so was the Rosa which had an amazing tomato sauce with thinly sliced garlic. I can't wait to go back and try their other slices. read more

This is a really unique way to do pizza and I really like it! You choose how much pizza you want and they cut it and heat it up and charge by the pound. The service is great and they have really good recommendations too. It lets you sample a whole bunch of types if you really want to. They are in the space Rachel's ginger beer used to occupy and the ambiance hasn't really changed much. Really enjoyed each pizza and it's very affordable this way! read more

Excellent pizza spot in Cap Hill and the focaccia crust is top notch. It's great that you can order by weight so you can try a bunch of different ones, you can do half pound, quarter pound, and they'll show you how big the slices would be before they cut them so you have an idea on the size. Lots of drink options as well and it's really cute inside. Love all the hanging plants. They heat up your pizza and bring it out and it comes out quickly. Definitely recommend stopping by! read more

This spot is so cute, decorated really nice and it looks great and has a good vibe. They have a selection of pizzas up front and you tell them how much of a pizza you want (by weight: pound) and they charge you for it, heat it up, and bring it to you. Overall service was really nice but generally I wasn't impressed by the pizza even though the concept of ordering by the weight is nice. Excellent Roman style pizza in Cap Hill! I love that they do pizza by the weight, and it's fun to watch them prep and cut (with scissors) the slices! The ingredients are fresh and high quality, and there's even 2 options that can be made vegan. I tried: - Brooklyn - pepperoni, sausage, red sauce, ricotta, pickled chilis - this was a great balance. The pickled chilis in particular were the star, and so good I could have bought a jar! Pep and sausage are basics done right, and just right for your standard pizza topping. - Spicy boar bolognese - pretty mild despite the name, it was like a delicious meaty pasta sauce atop a pillow foccacia-like base. Very light on the parsley too, and big generous shaves of parm. - White hot - a white pizza, this featured generous dollops of ricotta contrasted with fried parmesan crisps infused with chili crisp. Definitely for the chili crisp lover. It was also not too spicy, and super cheesy and chili-infused! Service was super friendly. At the moment, hours are late too, and they service alcohol and cocktails. The interior is beautiful and they're centrally located next to the action in Cap Hill too. read more

Replaced the RGB directly downstairs to my office ! Came at 2:30 pm on a Tuesday when no one was there and the pizzas looked good in the case I just chose what looked good to me tbh. I got 2 hefty slices of cacio e Pepe and Spicy Boar; totaled to $18.75... $20/lb I wanted to make sure I try as intended before sizing down my portion in the future lol. My first bite was into a flat, crunchy bottom, with good sauce and spice! I enjoyed both slices. I often gravitate to red sauce but the Cacio e Pepe tasted as it should, though nothing crazy. I do think size affects experience, (bigger the better) and getting a good middle piece is important! New Roman‑style pizza spot on Capitol Hill doing pizza al taglio by the weight -- absolutely incredible. For lunch we tried the Pepperoni, the Cacio e Pepe, and the spicy Bolognese ragù. All were excellent, but the ragù was on another level: rich, layered, and ridiculously satisfying. The ambience sealed it -- watching Argento's Profundo Rosso, then followed by Fellini's 8 1/2, while Pino D'Angiò drifts through the sound system. Perfect scene. The ordering experience was fine, but a bit slow for a "quick eats" place (more on that later). Asked for 1/2lb of pepperoni, guy eye balled it within an oz and paid my $12. It's half self serve and half they bring it out to you, I guess, for now. Good flavors on the pizza and the crust is the high point -- it's not quite detroit style, but it's not thin or pita style either. Roman via Seattle perhaps? Crunchy on the edges and savory through the bite. The problem is that it took 15 minutes, it cost 12 bucks, and I got a small greasy lunch out of it. I can't see myself being a regular here, and I'm wondering what sort of place they'll be long term. Is it a place to get dinner and drinks, or is it a casual lunch spot?
