    Navajo taco

Cozy, cheerful interior with a laid-back vibe. On that note, don't come here if you're in a rush. However, the food was excellent and very fresh. Service was slow but kind. Come here for good food and to relax for a bit.

Navajo taco special with green chile!

Got the navajo taco special with green chile and was delicious. Also got french fries with green vhile and cheese and those were so amazing. Definitely trying again especially the frys.

What a lovely restaurant. Met with a very nice greeting, immediately took our drink order, menus and freshly made chips and salsa. 100% homemade and delicious. We ordered two combination plates. A 3 taco platter and a chimichanga platter. It is a night and day difference when everything is homemade, and I mean everything. The dinners came out screaming hot and very big portions. It's not about big portions as they usually mean average food! Not at Romo's. Such a great staff and very attentive. We were finishing up when the lady (we are assuming the owner) said she was bringing out a fresh batch of Sopa pias for us. Being honest I don't like them as most places they are flat and uneventful. OMG not these. Fluffy, soooo flaky, hot, puffy and delicious. If we lived in this town, we would dine here weekly and most likely multiple times. People post that it's slow service. We found their service to be wonderful and a terrific dining experience and amazing food! Don't miss out on this amazing, authentic Mexican restaurant! Definitely order the tacos!

Sorry, half eaten...chili rellenos with red sauce. !!!!!

This was so amazing. A cute hole in the wall local style restaurant that has been around for decades. I had the chili rellenos - likely the best I've ever had. My husband had the fry bread with beans, lettuce and the works. It was not greasy and chewy as many fry breads are. Delicious. This was a stop off as we passed through on I-40. Worth the stop for lunch!! Oh, and the salsa was really really good. With a kick.

Came after Petrified Forest NP visit. Ordered to-go and ate at park across street: -Navajo taco: fry bread got a little soggy too quick -beef chimichamgas with red chile: very meaty and smothered in chile sauce. Enough for two people. -sopapilla: like a dessert bread that came with honey packet to drizzle over. Overall good, solid choice if passing through Holbrook. Head's up: Staff doesn't wear masks.

Traveling through the area and this place had high ratings, and make Chile rillenos and Sopapillas so had to go. The food was delicious and amazing!!! My husband had the Navajo taco and my son the chimichanga. Everything was so good!!! Excellent service, really nice guy took good care of us. Food was piping hot and we so enjoyed our meal! It's really a small town restaurant and not glamorous but clean and great food. I highly recommend this restaurant if you love good Mexican food!

Food was the most authentic and flavorful I have had in years. You can taste the roasted chili's in the salsa. Got one red and one green enchilada, fantastic!

Did not expect to be writing a five star review for this place, but here we are. I only ate here once, but that one time was excellent, and worthy of some raves. I got the cheese enchilada meal that comes with rice and beans. Rice and beans can be bland, but these were great: full of flavor, and I would have been happy with just a large serving of those. Cheese enchiladas can also be bland, but the cheese and sauce were excellent, and they were baked to crispy perfection. As an added bonus, they gave me my to-go order in a box rather than a bag, which was perfect since the dish was piping hot. Leftovers the second day were almost as good. As they note in the window, service is slow. They've got just a few people serving a lot of customers. So don't come when you're in a rush, and be prepared to wait. The food is worth it

Shredded beef enchiladas, rice was like pudding.

A very sweet older woman was our server. She made sure we were well-tended to and we had everything we needed. I ordered huevos rancheros with red sauce. It was very good. It came with flour tortillas on the side. The tortillas had nice flavor and were very soft. They were different than tortillas I normally eat, but I'm used to Baja-style Mexican food. I thought the beans were flavorful, but a little on the dry side. I think they were on the plate too long before getting to me. Husband got the daily special with tacos. He enjoyed his meal and found it to be a good value. Dining room was clean and comfortable. Restroom was clean and well-stocked. If you are passing through, give this place a try. It seems to be a local favorite.

Absolutely blown away by our experience at Aliberto's!…read more We happened to stop in when they were slammed--I'm talking packed and clearly super busy--but Bri still found the time to make our experience nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with the kind of warm welcome that instantly makes you feel like family. What really impressed us was that, despite the rush, she took the time to give specifics about every question we had on the menu. She even offered helpful suggestions (which ended up being spot-on, by the way). I had accidentally ordered a canned soda, but when I told her we preferred a fountain drink instead, she didn't hesitate for a second. No attitude, no making me feel bad--just pure, genuine service. She literally ran to grab us a cup, and later I found out that the fountain drink actually cost more. But she just smiled and said it was no big deal. That kind of above-and-beyond service is rare these days, and it left a lasting impression. I've driven past Aliberto's at least a hundred times and never stopped. But believe me when I say, that has changed forever. I will make it a mission to stop here every single time I pass through--even if it's just for their horchata, which is a solid 10/10. And let's talk about the food--SO GOOD. Their tacos? Massive and packed with flavor. Everything we tried was fresh, delicious, and satisfying. Even though poor Bri was clearly being pulled in every direction and running around because they were so busy she still managed to keep a positive attitude and give everyone around her that same warm, welcoming energy. She is the heart and soul of this place, and honestly, she alone gives Aliberto's a reputation worth bragging about. Do yourself a favor--don't just drive by. Stop in, grab some tacos and horchata, and if you're lucky enough to be helped by Bri, you're in for something special.
