My first experience with this place was actually pretty good. I had a shake and order of fries. All tasted good and fresh. I left happy. Oh what a difference a week makes. I went back yesterday, Sunday the 23rd at 1:00. There were no customers at the counter and only 1 table of 5 sitting in the restaurant. I walked in unsure of what I wanted this time. No one, not one of the 3 teeny boppers at the counter acknowledged me let alone look at me. They were huddled in a corner doing ?? Anyway, I finally walked to the register and the teen walked to the register as well. He never said anything, not hello, not can I help you . Nothing. I waited for him to acknowledge me in some way but he never did so I just ordered. A crispy chicken sandwich and fries. That was it. He told me the price and took my card. No thank you. Again nothing. I placed my order at 1:06. No other orders in the restaurant. I saw the person cooking put up a pack of fries immediately upon my ordering. I thought great my order will be up any minute. However I waited and waited and waited. At 1:21 the girl teen put the order in a bag and dropped it on the counter in front of me and said "here you go" and walked away. Unfortunately the fries I had seen go up at 1:06 were given to me at 1:21 and they were cold. I did not say anything and will not be back. Not a single person smiled, they all had scowls, truly scowls. A very unpleasant bunch. I understand how hard it is to get good help at minimum wage but you are losing business by hiring these teenagers who don't know how to behave in public. read more

Went through the drive-through only person there he couldn't get my order right asked three times about my pop so when I got my package, I looked no fries hamburgers missing I paid $56. So I went around no one at the counter. I asked if I could get my burger and my fries, he finally told me you can have fries, but you have to pay for the burger and I said well I will. That's what I wanted was busy with all the other kids there and having a good time but he was snotty with me about having to pay for it that'll be six dollars. I paid for it And I don't know how it came about but he finally said to me I was really busy that's why I guess I didn't get my order and I thought no one was around. There was a guy behind me that came after me anyway he got rude and rude. I don't know what you expect from me, I'm busy. I just said I expect you to get my order right and then he started gosh gosh, I'm busy rude people not really good food and $56. Pleasantly surprised. I travel around our great country and can say this is one of the better burger joints I have been to in a long time. I wanted something thing the locals liked and easy tonight I wasn't really hungry. No "fast food" like BK or McD's. My meal was served nice and hot and pretty dang good! I like to check out these local outfits when I see them, so, when I was driving by and say a tall Fish and Chisign out of front of Ron's, I decided that I'd get lunch at Ron's. Now, usually I Yelp a new place first, but today I decided to wing it . . . and I'm glad I did. Fish and chips was 7.95, which is a deal, but an extra piece of fish was 1.69, so, "What the Hel," I said. The order still came out under 10.00, which is a deal these days. The fish, four smallish chunks, was very good. The standard-model fast food fries were also very good, and the Tartar was good. Not a bad place to stop if I don't wanna spend well over 10 bucks on a bigger order of Fish and Chips. I'll be stopping in again. read more

First time trying this place, I've been craving In n Out burgers for so long since moving from Cali to WA so I've been searching for something similar and this place is nowhere near that level but satisfied that craving for me. I would say Ron's is in between McDonald's and In n Out. I was originally going to leave 1 star but decided to go back to the restaurant because they completely messed up my order and it was not $30 worth of food IMO, I asked for R sauce on the kids burger and the receipt said tartar so I even asked them about it before leaving and was told they made sure it wasn't tartar sauce but it was. They also didn't put extra cheese on the big r burger but I was charged for it and lastly they forgot to give me my drinks for both of the meals. When I went back they remade the combos and the burgers were delicious, fries were hot. They do have a lot of young teens working there which is great but they need more training before manning the front; not paying attention to orders being ready and not really caring about messing up an order. I also noticed the big r cheeseburger is the same exact burger as the kids meal but is about $2 more which is ridiculous so just order the kids meal instead and add the r sauce. The manager working remade my order and made it right so he is the reason I went from a 1 star to a 4 for Rons place! read more

I ate here for lunch the first time. A classic 50s drive-in look and feel. I had their signature Big R burger; lettuce, tomato, cheese, with special R sauce. The bun was soft, toasted on the inside, the meat patty was very juicy, a good hamburger. The fries were standard, a small order of fires was enough for two; the fry sauce was good, I thought their famous tartar sauces was a little on the bland side. I will be back. read more

We have been going to Ron's for more then 30 years. Always ordered the Big R. We decided to order the chicken because we have been told for years how good it is and have to try it. Best broasted chicken in town. It's crispy on the outside and tender and moist inside. Also, it's always still hot when we get it home. Almost as though we'd just pulled it out of the oven. Finally tried this place and it was worth it. If you're looking for a greasy delicious burger and fries this is the place to go. Reminded me of In-N-Out a little bit. Prices aren't bad. Deeply disappointed today!!! I ordered a deluxe burger with cheese and they gave me a plain cheeseburger. OK... everyone can make a mistake. So I went back to the counter to have it corrected. They could have just taken the burger I had and deluxe-d it, but they wanted to make me a new one...OK. So I stood there for a few minutes and the lady behind the counter said they would bring it out. I sat down to eat my burger. My daughter had to sit there and watch, and after 20 minutes I was done and ready to go (it didn't take me 20 minutes to eat, we waited for her burger). Burger- meh. Fries- meh. Milkshake? Rotten, spoiled, old. My dad used to speak so highly of Ron's, as it's where he went at my age in the 1990's. Just went to Ron's in Spokane valley, 830pm was when I was in the drive thru they looked at me and kept doing there closure process rather than acknowledging us. We then pulled up to the drive thru window where a young man said sorry we're closed, I said you're closed? He said, we're about to close, I said yes in 30minutes correct? He said uh idk, I said so you aren't serving food till 9pm you just decide that you're closing 30mins early? Does your district manager approve of this, to which the drive thru employee said he does. So, with that just know according to the valley location you can't rely on the times posted they close, they'll let you sit in the drive thru for 15mins not saying anything to you and then tell you there almost closed. I'd understand if it was 850pm etc but at 830pm? And they said the district manager approves of this. You'll never get our business again and we been coming to you for dinners for over 20 year's. read more

The burgers are small, dry and tasteless, the fish was just "ok" but the only thing that is consistant in this place is the mug root beer or the Dr. Pepper. Normally I try a place about 3 times before I figure it's worth rating as bad or lousy. This place really is. Just go down another block or two and spend the same money for a Carl's Jr. You'll spend less and have a better burger. Clearly a popular local burger joint so we wanted to try it out. The burger was average with a patty that seemed cooked from frozen. The special "Big R" sauce is basically knock off Big Mac sauce. The fries were good- they had a Parmesan like crust. The shakes are good- very thick and reminiscent of classic hand dipped style milkshake. The menu has other options besides burgers such as fried chicken, fish, and grilled cheese and tomato soup. My husband had the grilled cheese and tomato soup and said it was good. The dining room is a little dated, looking like a McD's from the 70's. The restrooms are outside... wth? Our visit was cut short when an employee came around spraying an industrial disinfectant on the tables all around us! Kudos for cleanliness, "F" for being conscious of customers actually EATING! The cloud forced me to leave so I could breathe. The food tasted like the spray after that anyway..... too bad because I love the local non-chain restaurants. read more

Eh, it was ok. As you can tell by the pics I submitted, pretty greasy food, but I guess that's expected for a greasy burger joint. I ordered the clam strips and fries meal. The portion of the clam strips were pretty generous, but they were somewhat chewy and not seasoned at all (salted). They gave a very generous portion cup of tartar sauce, which was awesome, though the tartar sauce was ok, at least, edible. I love the tartar sauce at Zips, it's home made, so I guess I was had high expectations for Ron's, though that wasn't the case. Fries weren't salted, and they're just normal fries, but I think if I had to choose between McD's and Ron's fries, I'd choose McD's fries. My soda (Mtn. Dew) was flat, big disappointment, since the majority of restaurants carry Coke products and I'm more of a Pepsi product fan. My friend ordered the big "R" burger, all he said was "it was good" he ate it all, so I guess that's a good sign, but I think the majority of guys enjoy eating. I asked my friend how his soda (cherry Pepsi) was after I discovered my soda was flat and he said "meh". So, I guess it wasn't that good either. All in all, it was ok. I've been going to Ron's since 2005 and they've always just been "ok" to me. But I wasn't the one who chose to dine here tonight, my friend did. Pull in the parking lot to check the order because you have to these days. And there was cheese on both. So since I'm not from Spokane, I'm not adding points for nostalgia, which means it's pretty good by itself. Had a halibut "burger" which is a fish sandwich and fries. My husband was witness to an ugly exchange yesterday between an employee and an elderly ( probably 80 ish) gentleman..the customer returned to complain his order was incorrect. He stated he ordered fish and got prawns. He didn't bring his meal or receipt, which he should have done, but he didn't. The staff claimed that he ordered the prawns and that's what he got. Not sure of the outcome, but sounds like staff needs a little work on customer service skills and de-escalation techniques instead of arguing and and making a scene. I would give no stars if possible. We have ordered their chicken many times in the past and would have given them 5 stars. The last 2 times, it was so over cooked, we threw it out. We felt the first time was probably a one time mistake. The second time, they managed to make it worse. It was so over cooked, the chicken so dry, there was little or no meat on the bones.
