I was on yelp here when I found out about this cafe. I ordered their pepperoni pizza sandwich and their hibiscus strawberry cooler. Both were SUPER delicious. Really nice place to study, and there are a bunch of outlets everywhere and complimentary wifi as well. Will come again! read more

Came in today and was greeted by one of the baristas, was recommended a honey lavender latte and it was delicious! Also tried their avocado toast with egg and bacon. Who said avocado toast is a millennial's meal? I'm sorry but it's freakin amazing. Would I continually pay 6 bucks for it? Probably not but I will treat myself once in a while to this perfect treat. The house drip is also spectacular. What a perfect little place. If I didn't have yelp to guide me, I probably would have missed it. Once you are inside you take a breath from the busy traffic of the morning and relax. The decor is very warm and inviting. The menu is short and to the point. The team is super friendly and got me my order fairly quickly. I would have to say the only semi downside is the price but it is quality. About ten bucks for house drop and avo toast. I've heard good things about this place, so I decided to try it out. Customer service was awesome. Really liked the atmosphere of the place. It's very cute with a relaxed feel to it. However, I didn't really care for their menu and they have poor quality drinks. I was really disappointed when I asked for a lavender milk tea, and it was literally just powder and milk and ice. I spent almost five bucks on something like that? That is just stupid. I saw the type of milk that used and it was some cheap knockoff brand you get I like a Walmart or something. The taste was super sugary and not very lavendery, kind of bland. My stomach is actually getting sick from it. Thought this place would be more legit. We came in here on a whim not expecting much. I was blown away by Peters attention to detail and the effort he puts into his drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed my pour over coffee and my girlfriend loved her Thai iced tea. This is a hidden gem in Cerritos and I definitely reccomend giving it a try. Roots Cafe is a great little spot to get some work or homework done. I have a hard time working from my home office and Roots Cafe has been a go to spot on several occasions. Seating isn't too bad. Roots is a 4 month old cafe on Bloomfield and South St. I ordered the avocado toast, chocolate chip cookie and a lavender tea milk with almond milk. OMG everything was so delicious!!! I like how it had the small coffee shop feel but not quite, it's more eclectic. Great study space as well. I will be a regular! read more

First and foremost, it's so rare to find a place with incredible drinks and food, as well as customer service to match! My personal favorites and regular orders at this location are the breakfast burrito, any and all of their hot sandwiches, the Thai tea (do not even hesitate to order this), and their iced Americanos. This is one cafe in which I believe all of their menu items are fool-proof and that you'll walk out happy no matter what you order. Christine (one of the owners) remembers her regulars and their preferences, which is so rare nowadays. Food and drinks come out super quick, regardless of there being only a few staff members. I cannot emphasize how amazing the customer service is, so if you're not 100% happy with a drink, do not hesitate to let them know on the spot and they'll adjust accordingly and willingly. Give this place a try for yourself -- my friend and I always find ourselves driving 20 minutes out from home just to get work done and spend time here, regardless of the fact that there are local coffee shops closer to our neighborhood. read more

This place is such a hidden Gem, the atmosphere is super chill not overly crowded like most coffee shops, and the menu does not disappoint! I got the churro waffle and the matcha green tea, it was delicious! The environment itself is very quiet but not too quiet where you felt like you couldn't have a conversation. Wifi is super slow & spotty. The 2 girls at the counter are friendly, but with no one in the entire place & one of them checking her cell phone, they came all the way to the front counter to loudly tell me that my coffee was ready at the back counter. So I had to walk all the way to the back counter to get my coffee & then the same thing again to get my breakfast sandwich. . . Having worked in a coffee shop, it seems like the manager needs to just give them a little training session on customer service. Probably won't be back here to sit down, mainly bc the wifi is terrible & I'm usually at coffee shops to get work done on my laptop. Music was chill & not too loud, which was great. Really yummy but honestly pricey, we paid like $14 for a waffle and a thin sandwich. there was no side chips to the sandwich and there was barely any syrup on the waffle. we got water to drink but it would've been way more if we had gotten an actual drink from the place. it's tasty but i wouldn't go back again just cause i don't think it's worth the price there wasn't really a WOW factor to any of it. read more

Love the cereal milk! It was really good!! So was the matcha waffle. A little pricey especially if you want to add strawberries and/or bananas on top. You also have to pay extra to make your drink lactose free. That was kind of a bummer for me. It's small and quaint. I can see why there were a lot of people studying here but some would unnecessarily take up a lot of space with the laptops and books. My party had to sit separately because of this. Also, it's like we're in a library here! We felt judged when we were playing with some of the board games. Why have Jenga as an option then? read more
