Good tasting pizza but alittle on the high side. We thought this was a full service restaurant but found out they only had two tables.

Not what it used to be. $24.95 for a small pepperoni pizza. Crust was tough. Not a good quality product.

Saturday night date night was at this new-to-us restaurant. La Dolce Vita is an Italian restaurant…read morein an historic 1871 building in the downtown area. The restaurant on the ground floor is small with a bar area, but they also have an outdoor patio and a banquet room on the second floor for up to 200 people. Our server was Jose and he was friendly, attentive and provided good service. We started with a bottle of Chianti to share. We skipped the appetizer because we knew we wanted dessert instead. Entrées come with a salad and is served family style. The salad is mixed greens with olives, red onions and tomatoes dressed with an Italian vinaigrette. A basket of warm bread was brought to the table along with olive oil and parmesan cheese, which was a nice touch. However, the salad was overly dressed and the vinegar was on the heavy side where it catches in your throat because it's too much. I did like that a salad was included with the meal. My husband ordered the bistecca di manzo vesuvio and I had gnocchi. The food was just okay, but they do serve large portions. The steak vesuvio was described as a strip steak, but my husband did not receive a strip steak. The steak he was served was thick and round and a strip steak is usually long and thinner. Also, Vesuvio sauce is very garlicky with lots of oregano. Their sauce lacked flavor. The steak, however, was cooked perfectly to a medium rare. My gnocchi had a rich marinara sauce that was tasty, but the gnocchi were not light pillows of air. They were on the heavier chewy side, unfortunately. Disappointing. I had a side of meatballs to go along with my pasta, and the meatballs were soft. The best part of the meal was the dessert, though. The tiramisu was light and creamy and had great flavor with espresso and cinnamon, a classic Italian dessert. There were positives dining at La Dolce Vita, but it lacked the wow factor and one too many dislikes so this is a one-and-done dining experience for me.

I'm seated in the corner next to a door that I'm assured won't be used while I'm here. (Spoiler alert - it was, in fact, used by patrons and staff alike.) But the menu looks amazing. We start with the toasted focaccia and whipped ricotta with honeycomb. It's good. Not the best I've ever had, but solid. The wood fired pizza is also good, but, again, not great. But solid. We decided not to linger and get drinks or dessert because the restaurant was filling up and it got loud fast. Really loud. Like, I need my check right now loud. Four stars because it was almost great, and I want to go back and try more of the things.

5 stars for Lemont. Probably 4 stars in Chicago…read more Walked in on a Saturday for an early dinner. It was 5:45, I didn't have a reservation, a they didn't have a table available until 7:30 but there were spots at the bar which they said was full service. My friend and I cozied up to it and ate there. What a surprisingly good experience. The staff was super friendly and that bartenders had great suggestions. I hate when people at the restaurant say everything is good. Not these young ladies. They made some sound suggestions which we followed. French onion soup and the steak frites were both excellent and priced well IMO. They have a really good whiskey/bourbon selection with a few hard to find bottles. I settled on a Blantons neat. They had Pappy, but I'm not wasting money on that anymore. Food came out quickly and we ate and watched a baseball game. The locals at the bar told us about their membership program where I guess for a small mo they fee you get a bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate once a month. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I don't live anywhere near there, but if I did I'd certainly join. In any case, if you live anywhere close, this is definitely a worthwhile restaurant to visit. Seems like there were quite a few singles there as well if you are looking to meet someone. I have no idea what the dating scene is like in Lemont, but this might be a good spot to try.

It was decorated super cute for Christmas and it was warm inside with the space heater. Our server was very attentive, prompt and friendly. The food came out quick, hot and tasty! We all ordered different drinks. I ordered the Cranbery Sangria and it was perfect. Definitely reccomend! For appetizers, we got the spinach and artichoke dip with chips and fried ravioli. Both appetizers were delicious! I liked them both so much and can't pick a favorite because they were equally satisfying my taste buds. For our main course, we ordered a traditional thin crust pepperoni pizza and a gluten free sausage pizza. Both pizzas had nice perfectly cooked crispy crust. The gluten free crust was just as good as the traditional crust. The pepperoni was flavorful and had a spicy kick to it, which I enjoyed. The sausage on the gluten free pizza tasted like it was homemade and fantastic! The sauce was a little sweet for my liking but not bad by any means. I just prefer less sweet pizza sauce on my pizza. I would definitely return again whether in their igloo dining in the winter or anytime through the year on their patio or inside. Highly reccomend!
