What a great little spot! We popped in for a late lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Ordered a sandwich, a cup of soup, and a glass of wine. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was spot-on. We liked it so much we went back the next day for lunch. On trip #2 they had a pan fried oyster special. My hubby ordered it and said they were cooked perfectly and just delicious. Roseanna's doesn't open until 3:00 pm most days. It is one of two restaurants in Oceanside. The other closes at 2:00pm - the closed sign goes up in the window by 1:30 pm. Several people had been waiting since 1:00 for the restaurant to open. The menu at Roseanna's is posted in the window and is pricy and meals are small. I ordered a bay shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were fresh, piled on two pieces of greens with a side of cocktail sauce and a slice of lemon. read more

Great location! Slow service but it's a weekend, no rush but was dying of thirst. Finally server came over. Pleasant lady. One of the smallest menus for selection I've ever seen. I think I have more choices at home. Not one steak, the only beef, a hamburger . 4 fish choices, a couple sandwiches . The side salad was standard, nothing special. Clam chowder better than average. Entrées, the scallops were severely undercooked, the halibut, well it didn't taste as fresh as it was advertised to be. It was a little on the fishy side. I did not finish it. Get there early as it gets busy and the wait to get a table gets long. It's a little pricy than what I'm used to but we ate there twice this last weekend, the first night my wife had the oysters and I had the scallops both were excellent. Looked fwd to this lunch. The crab cakes did not disappoint. $26 fair price. But- The smoked salmon & halibut was a waste of $25. There was NO halibut & the smoked salmon was way too strong. When I told the server she just shrugged and said they ran out. Would NOT have ordered it had she told us. Took it home to try to 'fix' it. Big disappointment. Will not dine in again, will only get crab cakes to go when I can't find crab cakes elsewhere. Also, usually tip 20% but they now automatically add 18%. So I guess I saved $2. read more

It was my first time visiting Oceanside and I'm glad after walking the beach we ate here. It's within walking distance to the beach so you get a beautiful view when eating, and within walking distance of beach parking. The service was fast, friendly and very accommodating. The food is a little higher priced than I was expecting, but there's some affordable options. Plus, if you don't like seafood there's plenty of options. We had the pirate cove sandwich and seafood scramble. Both were incredible! Then finished off with some cobbler while watching whales in the distance. What a lovely little, family-owned and run place! The views looking out from inside the restaurant are incomparable. Looking out over the beach and water while you dine is a very special experience. The food is absolutely delicious! We got the Cioppino, a fabulous seafood stew packed with different types of seafood and a massive loaf of bread. It blew us away. I don't think we've ever been given such a gracious portion of seafood in a restaurant before! The halibut sandwich is incredible and so is the salad with your choice of protein. You can't go wrong with any of their options! They also serve wine and liquor here which is an added plus! read more

We both got the fish special for lunch, which ended up being $23 per person. The fish smelled "fishy" and wasn't necessarily the best meal I've had on the Oregon coast. If I went back I might try something a little less expensive and lower my expectations. Other dishes looked better and priced more reasonable. Service was OK, there was a wait - with three visible open tables, but they took our names to wait regardless. Two tables stayed open after we were seated, and still people waited for tables. The wait staff was not overly friendly but our order was correct and they did check back periodically. I'm sure there's a reason for waiting for tables, it just wasn't apparent. Dessert was very good. For that, I would come back. They all seem homemade and are generous portions at a good price. Overall, I give 3 stars for food quality and service, with an added extra half star for desserts. Go for dessert. read more

Have eaten here several times and was disappointed with Saturday, Oct 1st dinner. Arrived about 6:45 and there were several open tables which seemed unusual. It took 10 minutes to clear a table at the window and another 10 min for our server to arrive. The food was OK however I ordered the fish special and it arrived with no sauce. I asked waitress if it was included and she retuned with melted butter and garlic in plastic cup. We each received 3 whole roasted potatoes on our plates without any dressing, sour cream or other; just odd. We're headed to the Schooner next time. read more

Roseanna's Oceanside Cafe is my go-to for a cozy meal with a beach view. Their food is always fresh and delicious, and their staff are genuinely kind and helpful. My partner and I wandered in there on our first trip to Oceanside, and the owners helped us plan out our day, giving us a wealth of local activities and fun things to do. We would not have discovered Cape Lookout without their help, and we ended up getting engaged there! But, my husband and I were super hungry after a Long Beach jaunt this weekend so we traveled back up the hill, enticed by Roseanna's great yelp pics. They definitely delivered! Fresh and local seafood options...and DESSERT. I got the crab/shrimp scramble and it had huge chunks of crab in it. Yum. Once my husband and I were finished, we just HAD to get dessert so we grabbed a few different options. They all just sounded good. My daughter and I went into this little cafe for a glass of wine and appetizer. The waitress, hostess, was rude and full of herself and had us stand and wait for our table unnecessarily. We were shopping for some jewelry they had in the cafe, and she totally ignored us when we needed information or to purchase our gifts. Sigh.. I have been going to this spot on the coast for almost 30 years.. and it never seems to look any different, very nostalgic and constantly seals the memories whenever I return.. This place has the neatest senior waitress working here. She's quite lovely and has a wonderful southern accent to boot. I think she's related to the owner. She's now, I am guessing, in her 80s. Last time I was there was maybe 6 years before that. She told me a story about her sailor she had met once upon a time. I was so glad to see her again when I walked through the door. I reminded her of her sailor story and she just put out that sweet smile. Their menu still remains pretty much as I have remembered it. You get to choose different sauces (ginger/pear is one of them) to put on your pasta as well as what type of seafood or meat you would like. They also have these choices without the pasta in a stir fry. Comes with a nice black loaf of warm bread, 2 sides (potato or rice) veggies. My friend and I split a meal and they did not just put the plate out for you to pick through or for you to separate between the two of you. They actually split the meal and put it on 2 different plates. And they did not cut the potato in half but gave us each one.. things like that. Very customer service oriented. And it was plenty to eat! So of course we had to share a dessert and they have the same desserts they have had for years that I could count on and could still love the same. We decided on the chocolate caramel crunch cake.. and it was exactly that, very moist and chocolatey/caramely.. :D It only gets better there because the view is to die for.. and if you get a chance go there during sunset time but you better go on a weekday because there is always a line. If you are going to this restaurant, go for the view. It's exquisite. The food? Not so much. I ordered vegetarian fettuccine Alfredo. The sauce was like soup. Was it the vegetables? Maybe, but I have to think since it was on the menu, they should know to account for the extra water from the veggies. I ordered a side of bread. The steamer was out so the server put one in the microwave. It's a nice dark loaf. I asked for to go silverware and got a fork and a spoon. And some butter pats on the side. I paid $20 and I have to say I might have been better off getting pasta from Pizza Hut. I got my order to go. It's been a long day and I just wanted to chill. And it was toward the end of their day, so maybe I just caught them at an off time, on an off day. But if I had stayed, the $20 would have totally been worth it just for the view. read more

"Hot Tub Time Machine".... Except in the Roseanna's version of that mediocre flick, the main characters weren't 18-year-old college dillweeds back in 1983 or 1984. Instead, they were probably some thirtysomething middle-management types and their ladies, who kept it straight for the most part but still liked to party down on the weekends back in the day. In my mind's eye--and I'm roughly the same age as the characters in the actual movie-- Roseanna's is the "nice" restaurant such folks went to before retiring to the vacation-house hot tub for some Cutty Sark and Acapulco Gold. Yeah, I'm exaggerating a bit for effect, and I'm not being very nice in doing so. But seriously, Roseanna's doesn't seem to have updated a whit since the early 1980s. Time-warp or not, though, the location and atmosphere of Roseanna's are by far the best things about this place. The attractive cedar-shake building directly faces the Pacific Ocean and offers a great view of the Three Arch Rocks; this phenomenal view is pretty hard to beat anywhere on the planet. Inside is a nice old bar and pleasantly-lit dining area. Although the dated dining area's furniture looks cheap and old, the room has some character and disamring appeal to it nonetheless. On the evening we were there, though, the music was piano versions of 1980s pop hits (think dreck like "The Wind Beneath My Wings"). Despite this gross soundtrack, and despite the throw-back vibe, Roseanna's was definitely a nice place to spend a couple of hours. The food, unfortunately, is a different story. I must have misread the handwritten specials menu because I thought I was getting halibut cheeks and smoked salmon with a forgettable side of fettucine, but what I got was a bowl of pasta primavera with chunks of halibut (decent enough) and salty, dried-out salmon jerky. This was just not very imaginative or very good. In fairness, though, the clam chowder was nicely seasoned and better. The wife ordered rockfish with a somewhat-later-than-the-early-1980s mango salsa, whipped potatoes with drawn butter (!), and a piece of corn on the cob that looked like it'd come from one of those frozen bags. Service was kind of clunky. Although our primary server appeared to be in her thirties, her manner and style were not very polished. The only thing that's very 2010 about Roseanna's is the prices. At around $100 for two entrees, the bowl of chowder, a shared dessert, and a rather modest bottle of wine, this was a mediocre dining experience in this price range. Go for the view. read more

We ordered halibut vegetable pasta and there were exactly two slices of squash and one sprig of broccoli in the dish. They did not provide bread with the pasta. This review applies only to the new COVID reality. The food and wine were fine and it felt great to be eating inside a restaurant again. That being said, we didn't feel entirely safe. Though some tables had been removed, other diners did feel close, and no masks were being worn among the diners, one of whom was doing some serious coughing. The servers did wear masks and were careful about touching surfaces. As we left the restaurant, we had to pass through a large clump of people clustered together outside the door waiting to get in. They also were not wearing masks. So, good food and nice to go out, but, for now, I wouldn't go back. read more

Wow. Even in a pandemic where everything is takeout -- and we all know what takeout does to a good cream sauce -- Roseanna's knocked it out of the park! Scallop skewers wrapped in bacon were perfectly cooked...so good even my diehard vegetarian boyfriend had a taste...and loved them! Excellent food in a small dining room overlooking the ocean. This gem could easily be missed if you are judging the modest streetwise facade! Each dish is hand crafted by the chef and the quality is evident. Fresh herbs grow outside the windows and make their appearance in the well-crafted dishes. It's hard to believe you can find a restaurant of this quality in this remote location. We have not found an equivalent in any of the surrounding towns (Netarts, Tillamook, Garibaldi). There is a good selection of fresh seafood, pasta and salads. Tonight we had charbroiled salmon with a whole seed mustard aioli sauce. It was served over a freshly made mango salsa with fresh steamed veggies and Yukon potatoes. We were unable to find room for dessert but you really should plan to save room. There were at least 10 choices of wonderfully homemade desserts such as marionberry cobbler ala mode, peanut butter pie, carrot cake, triple chocolate mouse cake and a couple cheesecake options. Definitely a required stop when in the area. Come early as seating is limited and be prepared to wait for a seat if you aren't early. read more

We arrived in Oceanside around 5:30 on Sunday night. We knew we wanted to eat here & they were packed, full House!! We waited well over an hour. But I didn't care, it didn't matter one bit! When we did get seated, service was above excellent, we ordered the Oyster shooters, coastal snapper & a chef special with fish & ravioli (sounds crazy? Yes, but it was a powerful dish). We ordered dessert, everything we ate was 5 Stars. We recommend you try this place, locally owned (not a franchise), love in each meal, great hospitality along with picturesque views of Three Arches (picture here in the review).
