I visit Rosty often, and it never disappoints. This time we ordered takeout, and I'll admit I was a little concerned that the food wouldn't be as fresh as dining in, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. We ordered the whole chicken meal with three sides, and every item was a winner. The grilled chicken was cooked to perfection, it was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor in every bite. The plátanos were caramelized just right, sweet and melt in your mouth delicious! The yucca complimented the meal as a whole, and the beans are always a must order for me, they're consistently flavorful and comforting. And then there are the sauces, which are also stars of the show. They take an already great meal to the next level, adding the perfect kick of flavor to every bite. The only downside to ordering takeout is the amount of sauces given didn't suffice with the meal. Other than that, I have no complaints. From start to finish, everything was fresh, satisfying, and exactly why Rosty remains one of my favorite spots. Whether you're dining in or ordering takeout, you really can't go wrong. Highly recommend.

We ordered the ceviche clasico, calamari, fried plantains, 1/2 pollo, and lomo saltado. All the food was flavorful - ceviche was very tangy and fresh, calamari was lightly battered, plantains were fresh and sweet, the pollo was crispy and tender, and the lomo saltado was savory sweet. The service was good - they were attentive and helped us figure out the right amount of food for 6 of us. The space was on the smaller side but made the ambiance homey.

Friend randomly found this place while we decided to get dinner last min. Peruvian restaurant popular for their lomo saltado, ceviche, and rotisserie chicken. The ceviche had the freshest seafood but was also very sour. My eyes got a workout from involuntarily squinting from the sourness. It paired well with the choclo, corn nuts (forgot the name), and sweet potato. The lomo saltado was good but I'd recommend having it before the ceviche (before your taste buds go for a wild ride). Service was impeccable and I've never felt so well tended to, in such a warm, hospitable way too. Definitely a gem in Highland Park and I'd love to come back to try their rotisserie chicken.

Really great Peruvian flavors in the area. I had the lomo saltado and those flavors definitely hit. Exactly what I expected a lomo saltado to taste like: tender meat, tomatoes with a nice bite, and crunchy fries. But once they soaked up some of that sauce, yumm, amazing. I also had the maracuya (passion fruit) drink with real passion fruit and that was everything! The right amount of tart and sweet, very refreshing. The service was great, friendly, and attentive, and the outdoor seating was where we sat because I had my dog, Charles, with me. Really great experience so glad to have found a good Peruvian spot in the area.

A new spot for me, a local's favorite, and an LA's best with many certificates to show for it... I'm talking about Rosty -- Peruvian rotisserie and restaurant. As a first experience, I had the rotisserie with yucca and beans -- what a delectable experience! The space itself is inviting and paired with friendly service, Rosty's welcomes you to dine there or for take out.

I quite literally followed my nose to this place while on the hunt for something to eat. I haven't had the pleasure of eating a lot of Peruvian cuisine, but if it's anything like this place, I have a whole lot more to look forward to in the future. My chicken sandwich came on a fluffy bread and was filled with fresh purple onion and lettuce which gave it a very nice flavor profile. They gave us table bread with an array of sauces for our food and they were all magnificent, while I'm an eternal student in cuisine, from my best guess since I didn't have a chance to ask, was a deeply rich and flavorful salsa verde, a very light djion mustard, and a buttermilk ranch of somesort. All three were very welcome additions to our food. I also had some passionfruit juice, which was as sweet as it was refreshing. The music also fit the place pretty well, as my happy dance was in attendence too. Gracias!

Very good peruvian food!! place is cute and in a perfect spot in Highland Park. Presentation, quality of food, flavor, time order was taken along with food taken out all 10/10. Sauces were also very delightful to pair with my plate.

I came a couple of months ago, and I forgot to write my review. I discovered this cozy spot passing by one day. I love Peruvian food, and Rosty's most certainly doesn't disappoint! For real tho! When you walk in, it's a great vibe! The music just makes you just want to dance! It's clean and open, with such a friendly and informative staff! All their dishes are and I can't get enough of their bread and butter..... but their ceviche!! I havent tasted ceviche as delicious as theirs! I love the amount of citrus they use! The flavors of sweetness from the sweet potato and red onions blend perfectly well in this dish! The different types of corn, that you add choclo (similar to hominy) and cancha (similar to corn nuts). Omg! the textures and flavors make this ceviche a different and unique seafood dish! My favorite dish has always been tallarin saltado, which was cooked to perfection! My date had the lomo saltado, which he truly enjoyed! I had a chicha morada drink, which is one of my favorites, a purple corn drink which is a nice refreshing treat! Rosty has always been my favorite Peruvian restaurant. The portions are large and full of flavors! It's a must go 10 out of 10!

Absolutely delicious Peruvian food. I got the lomo saltado and it was so flavorful and well cooked. I wish they put a Little more meat but it was a good serving still. The beef was cooked to medium, so tender and well seasoned. I actually love lomo saltado. I've been trying to find a place like I've had in Peru. I think i found the place. My friend had a potato and shrimp dish tasted a little like ceviche. The service was really good and friendly. Food came out relatively fast.

My best friend in grammar school was Peruvian. Her mom was a good cook, and I would take every opportunity to stay for dinner. I've been wanting to try Rosty since it opened and finally had the opportunity. The restaurant serves authentic Peruvian cuisine with a focus on seafood & soups. The dishes are a bit pricey and vegan & vegetarian options are also available. My friend and I received a warm greeting from Cesar. He has such a great personality. We found a table, and he brought us some menus. The ambiance is casual and the exposed brick walls & décor give it a warm, cozy feel. We were undecided about what to order so we asked Cesar for recommendations. He said Ceviche was their specialty, so we requested the Ceviche Mixto (spicy) to share. While we waited for our food, complimentary fresh bread arrived with 3 dipping sauces, which are made in house. They are bombtastic! The Aji Verde was spicy, Aji Amarillo was mildly spicy, and the Aji Blanco was mild. The Ceviche Mixto was a mixture of white fish, shrimp, squid, & mussels served with andinian corn (choclo), corn kernels (cancha), & sweet potato. Cesar suggested putting the corn on top and mixing it in. The cancha added some crunchiness to the dish. The fish was fresh and perfectly marinated. The marinade was tasty - a nice balance of citrus & spicy. The serving size was generous. We couldn't finish it all even though it was the best ceviche ever! Thank you Cesar for the recommendation and your excellent customer service! *No Alcohol *Metered street parking or lot around the corner.

Ok, this might be my favorite place to eat at for the moment because the food was delicious, hearty and grabs your soul. The server recommended their roasted chicken which didn't disappoint and came with a mild aji and two creamy ranch and lemony sauces. The la copa nostra was all right but I did like the presentation with the fried shrimp and calamari on top with the cooked fish, shrimp and mussels in a lime like sauce. The high lite was the hearts served on a skewer - more steak like then liver if you never had this. This place is just a cozy little nice place to take a date.

I'm not even exaggerating when I say this place has the best Peruvian food I've ever tried. I had initially tried the food from here in October when my friend ordered catering from them. That was my first time trying papas a la huancaina. I was immediately in love. Those papas stayed in my mind 24/7 (along the chicken and lomo), I had to try them again... so finally yesterday my boyfriend and I decided to pay this place a visit. A very cute and cozy restaurant, great for a family dinner/lunch, or small gathering. Friendly and attentive staff. Of course we ordered a side of papas a la huancaina, and we both ordered the tallarines verdes con lomito. This confirmed what I already knew -- the food was delicious. read more

I came here with a GF because we wanted to meet up for lunch in a central location. The staff was really sweet, was so nice to us, and was very attentive. We ordered what we saw on Yelp pictures, the lomo saltado with the yummy, green noodles. Delicious! I enjoyed the salty dish, with lots of free bread refills. I just parked on the street (at the meter) in front of the restaurant. I would recommend this place because I don't have good Peruvian food where I live. read more

This place is always good. Ever since I've tried Peruvian food, it's pretty much been a weekly meal for me. I came here on a Thursday evening for dinner and ordered the pollo chaufa (fried rice), tallarin saltado, and ceviche mixto. Everything was fantastic and absolutely delicious. There is so much flavor and the sauces they serve on the side pair perfectly with the dishes. I love Rosty! read more

Small place that serves Peruvian comfort food. They give you three sauces to try out with your food or dip with your complimentary french bread. Tried the lomo steak with pesto pasta. The steak was soft and the onion and tomato with the dish was amazing. The portion is pretty big and filling. The fries they use for the lomo saltado soaks up the juices and doesn't taste like your idaho potato. Service was great and the server was very attentive. Come early, this place gets place and I can see why. It's just good comfort food. read more

I had a really great time here at Rostys! It was my first time here and came in on a Sunday. Was able to be seated right away! We ordered the ceviche, saltado de pollo, and saltada ceviche. It was SOOO yummy. I seriously loved the saltado the pollo. It was perfectly sweet and the onions were cooked perfectly. They also gave a good amount of ceviche and had lots of leftovers. So happy I found this spot! Will be back! read more

My go to Peruvian spot in LA. Surpasses even Inti in flavor profile depth and ingredient quality. I always get the Lomo Saltado and the Chouffa de Pollo, which is my favorite rice dish in the city! They are known for the their ceviches of course but for me it's the savory stodgy dishes combined with the three sauces. We absolutely love the white sauce and the green! Yellow is sneaky spicy but also delicious. You really can't go wrong here - I love it. Worth your investment. read more

There's not many good Peruvian places in Los Angeles, but this place is really good. The beef is soft along with the potato that soaked up all the beef juice! I also like their ceviche. It's a lot more spicy and sour compared to the others but the piece of sweet potatoes just makes it so much better. Not to mention the crunchy corn. Definitely worth a try! read more

Sunday noon - not too busy and was seated right away. Service was quick and staff were polite. Loved that about this place. The ambiance was great and music was lively. They provided complimentary bread and butter to start. The pollo fried rice was very basic. Seemed like rice egg green onion and chicken. Thats it. Too much soy sauce made it a bit too salty but the chicken quality was spot on. This dish was $16. The lomo saltado also was a bit too salty as well. Too much sauce and the carne quantity wasn't as much. A lot more fries so ratio was a little too off. $18 for this dish. read more

this is NOT for the food and I hope to return and update this, it's for the awkwardness. we got here 30 min before closing, we waited at the front for a bit before someone came to us- we asked if it was too late to order/dine in, the waiter said "yes it is" so as we were turning to leave he said we can order but we have to be done by 9... we were walking to our table and given menus but as I looked at the clock, we were approaching 8:40, hadn't ordered and were stressed about the having to leave by 9. we got up to leave, no one said anything, but what I will say is the food smelled amazing and I hope to redo this review. we ended up at homestate a few doors down and it was delicious and not at all stressfu. read more

Four of us walked in to a very clean and cozy restaurant. We perused the menu and then asked the waiter to bring the top five dishes. We were so happy, nothing disappointed. Everything came out of the kitchen looking beautiful, tasting amazing, and the portions were beyond generous. Four hungry people could not even finish. I highly recommend going in there and just asking for their top dishes, depending on the size of your party. You will not be disappointed. read more

I love love love this place! I love the wood fired chicken and the chicken soup. I think the soup may be too salty for some people but if you eat it with rice, it really hits the spot. The chicken is juicy and amazing. I would come here more if parking was a bit easier. Ambiance is very casual and chill. If I get takeout, I usually park at grocery outlet and walk over lol.. shh! Service and the people are great per usual. Super friendly! read more

Okay it's my 3rd time back and it won't be my last! Ambiance is very nice and inviting and the service is excellent. Everything is so good I've been so happy with everything I've ordered. My BF and I come back for the soup! We love this freakin place. The food tastes very authentic and delicious! I wish I could eat here everyday. ******5 star for great service ****** This is my second time eating here , first time I got Lomo Saltado and today I got chicken saltado , both times delicious! Learned the difference between the both lol I thought they were the same dish. The chicken was super soft, tender, crispy and delicious. The server Carla has a super personality!!!! I loved coming here and it had a nice vibe. The food is always good too. However, this time around the music was way too loud to really enjoy their great food. They tried changing their atmosphere but it will drive away the regular customers. Hope they consider that not everyone likes to eat with music so loud that we have to yell to speak to our guest. read more

bad experience! i called in my order (anticuchos asados skewers) with 3 orders of bread. i got back boiled anticuchos, and raw bread. almost dough. i called and talked to cesar, he was full of excuses. i asked to speak to the manager and asked for the manager's name, cesar said he could not give me the managers name nor talk to him. that he would contact the manager and explain the problem. he called me 10 minutes later to tell me i had a 15% discount on my next visit. they just lost a customer, and gained a negative/truthful review. he also hung the phone as in he does not want to hear it anymore. huge dissapointment! never again will i go there read more

Rosty is a hidden gem! The food is authentic, hearty, flavorful, well presented, and cooked with love. Their portions are large and for the price it's outstanding. Their service was decent. They did not check on us much sitting down, but because the food was good. It didn't matter much! The ambiance is great for a casual lunch, nothing fancy, just expect good Peruvian food. You'll have to find street parking, it's a very busy area of town. I would definitely order this in! read more

This is our third time here. My dad and I love it but we live in Pasadena so kind of a ways away treat when we both have the time to go. We've shared the copa nostra which never fails to make us do our happy food dance. This time around we tried this pasta with lomito which was so good. I don't know what that sauce is but yummmmy! Steak was cooked perfectly. I also tried their maracuya agua Fresca which was very sweet for my taste but my dad had ordered unsweetened iced tea so we mixed it and it worked out read more

If you're looking for delicious authentic Peruvian food, Rosty is it! Although a little on the pricey side, it's worth it! They are doing take out during the pandemic and very generous with their salsa. YUM. The service is attentive and quick too. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side so expect to wait a bit on busier nights. read more

I've had Rosty's food many times and each time it tastes and looks great. I really appreciate that they honor their portion sizes whether you eat at the restaurant or order through a food delivery service. I've ordered both ways and I'm always satisfied. This is also a restaurant that I can trust to eat their ceviche. It always has great flavor and everything in it tastes fresh. If you ask them to make it spicier they won't disappoint! read more

Highland Park has evolved into a gentrification hotspot of hipsters, foodies etc with numerous restaurants scoring well. Rosty is a Peruvian restaurant which we decided to go to when we checked our unrevealing fridge on a Friday evening. The place was welcoming, super-friendly, and most of the food arrived at the correct table. Not expecting such big portions, we not only gave too much space to the delicious fresh and warm bread, but in addition to the main dishes (saltado de pollo and pescado alo macho) also ordered some yucca fries, and platano frito. That was a forgivable mistake but was worth it. Suffice to say that we did not have any physical space for desserts - but could nonetheless not resist to take a Leche asada as to-go order for home ... read more

What a fun little find on a random Sunday. I had actually intended to go to the place across the street, but last minute decided to check out this place. I'm glad I did. The staff were friendly, made great recommendations and were really attentive. Plus, we had fun conversations since there weren't too many people yet. Of course, we ordered way too much food, but somehow the leftovers were even better?? I ended up in a food coma for sure. Definitely check this place out. read more

Ooooooh Peruvian food in Highland Park??? I came in here after hearing about this place on Yelp. Peruvian food is one of my favorite kinds of food and much of the time I crave this when I'm hungry. I ordered the Lomo Saltado and it was amazing! The staff brought out some different sauces for me to try and I loved every one of them. Definitely one of the best Peruvian in Los Angeles! This place never disappoints me...through out the past 5 years, the quality of their food hasn't changed at all! Lomo Saltado and Pollo La Brasa are must haves! Also their service is always great, welcoming and friendly people work here. The breads and sauces they serve at first, just great! I've never had Peruvian food before so I wasn't sure what to expect. We had a reservation, which was a good thing. The restaurant isn't that big and we had a group of more than 15 people. Since we had a large group, they allowed us to split into two groups, each paying on their own. Lomo Saltado: A pretty simple dish with just rice, beef, fries, tomatoes and onions. But it packed a lot of flavor. I kept soaking the rice with the excess sauce. The beef was tender and the onions crispy. The fries got pretty soggy at the end though. It was a lot of food for me and I definitely could've shared the dish with another person. The green spicy sauce they have at the table went really well with the beef. Pretty good and I'd be willing to come back to try their other dishes. read more

I'm always excited to try a new Peruvian spot! My first experience at Rosty was amazing. There's times where I can't decide between the Lomo Saltado or the Tallin Verde & at Rosty you don't have to!! You can enjoy a plate they offer with a little bit of both. It's the perfect portion & easy to share as well if you want to try additional menu items. The servers are always making sure you're doing good & enjoying everything. 10/10 recommend trying this if you love Peruvian food! read more

A friend recommended this restaurant and it has turned into my favorite Peruvian place! The agua de pepino is definitely a must it is refreshing and not too sweet. We started with the ceviche mixto, my boyfriend's favorite we always ask for it spicy. They give you bread to start off and three sauces, the green is delicious we always ask for extra. I got the tallarin verde con lomito, I am soo glad they have this option I couldn't decide between the two so I had to get both. My boyfriend got the tallarin saltado de mariscos. All we have to say is the portions here are HUGE. The service is amazing and the food was delicious we definitely enjoyed our leftovers! read more

Stumbled upon this hidden gem in Highland Park while walking through the neighborhood. Decided to venture in with my mom - first impression: a touch rustic, and it screams "cozy nighttime hangout." But in broad daylight, those imperfections are waving at me a bit too enthusiastically. The service was stellar, though. Our server deserves a medal for patiently answering my 10-question interrogation . They kick things off with some fancy toasted pan Frances and three sauces: aji verde, aji amarillo, and aji blanco ( which is a mix of queso and mayonnaise). My taste buds high-fived the verde and blanco, seriously delicious! Went for lomo saltado and ceviche, accompanied by a side of fried plantains. Tasty, but someone went a bit wild with the salt shaker, especially on the lomo saltado rice. Not a fan of their fancy plastic blue cups for water and the whole plastic-to-go-jazz for the sauces. We just ate there today-- delicious + great service + reasonable prices. I ordered the "la Copa", which is basically a huge goblet of delicious ceviche that's topped off with fried calamari and includes several small delicious corn snacks. My boyfriend ordered the fried rice with chicken, which was really tender, moist, and sizeable. We got the chicha morada and limonada for drinks, plus a side salad and side of plantains. All for about $60 ... and we have plenty of leftovers for at least one other full meal. Will come here again and try the other dishes (the lomo saltado looks great). Note: one of the previous reviews mentions having to pay before sitting down ...idk about that, we sat down, were handed menus, and ordered normally. So so so good! My son, his girlfriend and I walked to this new neighborhood restaurant to leave so full, content and pleased. We shared the platter for two with fried fish, mussels, calamari and red onions. It was perfectly fried; light, not greasy and golden, delicious, and huge portions-along with the 3 sauces we almost couldn't eat anymore. But being the troopers that we are we "forced" ourselves to order the tamales, one pork one chicken....amazing. Benny, the owner constantly touched our table with kind words and made sure we were ok. Cute setting, well lit and friendly staff. We will be back for sure. So many dishes we want to try. This place is a downright gem. Beyond my wildest expectations. All of the food was exceptional. Cheap prices, friendly staff. When you walk in you feel like you are in another country. The chicken was amazing. Komo was cooked to perfection. I was so impressed with this place. Would recommend to anyone. Definitely a must try for all lovers of South American grub. No booze so get your drink on before or after. But lots of cool bars right down the street. Will definitely be coming back here often. Great place for an amazing price! I live in the neighborhood and never actually realized it was Peruvian roasted chicken. Entered one evening with no expectations. Was pleasantly surprised to find great service with a smile and even better food. The beef filled potato balls are huge and totally worth the money. The red onion salad is fantastic with vinegar and tomatoes, the food was delicious and steaming hot. Would recommend friends and family any day! Will put up some more pics soon. read more

I'm not pleased with this restaurant. Came across it on my home way and decided to dine out there with my friend. Firstly we waited so long in line to get a seat and couldn't go to another place as we appreciated our spent on waiting. As soon as we seated ourselves, it took servers 20 minutes to bring menu and extra 10 minutes for food. After having brought the order, the dish was tasteless. Now I just feel so sorry for wasting that much money on silliness. Not worth my pennies at all. read more

I had an awful experience at Rosty in Highland Park. The chicken I ordered was undercooked and still pink in the middle--completely unacceptable. The restaurant itself was dirty, with trash and sticky surfaces all around. We tried to bring up our concerns to the staff, but they were unresponsive and didn't offer any solutions. To top it off, the overall service was terrible. I definitely won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

My experience at Rosty in Highland Park was awful. The ceviche we ordered was sour and tasted like it was rotting. When we complained, they refused to take it back or remove it from the bill, which was incredibly disappointing. On top of that, the bathroom was absolutely disgusting--clearly not maintained. The service was terrible as well. The staff was inattentive and unhelpful. I won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

Absolutely love this place! The food tastes authentic, fresh, and cooked well. The beef dish I ordered was juicy and filled with flavored I couldn't get enough of it. The service was amazing! This place is a Peruvian restaurant, here you will eat what you have never eaten in your life. Fries and platano frito are their masterpieces and can be said to be inseparable dishes of their restaurant, which I ate with great admiration. They praised the chicken soup a lot. Disappointing service. We placed an order, but one meal was completely forgotten, leaving one with food while the other had to wait with nothing. It was frustrating and unacceptable. We also noticed another table experiencing the same issue. The restaurant seemed severely understaffed, operating with 2-3 fewer employees than needed to run efficiently. read more

This was our first time and for sure it won't be the last. This is now my favorite, defiantly get the Lomo Saltaldo and or the Rotisserie chicken can't really go wrong with anything here! read more

This is a good place to scratch your Pollo la brasa without having to make a drive toward ktown. However, it still won't beat it and I found their lomo saltado to be not as good as other Peruvian places near Glendale. Also, the meat serving is a little small compared to the side. The fried are probably the best food here. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat in all of Los Angeles, so much so it's now become a weekly meal my family and I share. Their chicken, beans, and basically everything on the meal is absolutely delicious. Any time we introduce someone new to Rosty's they are blown away. I highly recommend eating here. read more

Food is delicious in this place. Definitely legit Peruvian even though they don't have Causa but I'll let that slide. Their customer service kind of lacks but I think maybe they are under staffed for the moment so be patient they move a lil slow but food comes out quick. They also have real chicha morada. read more

Not a very good place! It's fantastic!!!! Valerie was super friendly and helpful with the not my regular bill of fare I had the LaCopaNostra as you can see in the pix. Delicious especially when I added the aji sauce that was slightly spicy n full of garlic flavors. read more

Well absolutely incredible and great prices! The staff was friendly and the service was very fast... they had great vegetarian options and the sauce was great. If you find parking difficult but cross Figueroa, there is a lot behind it that is easy and cheap. read more
