My in-laws, fiancé and I tried this place out on a Thursday evening at 6:30 PM. It was a very quiet evening with a beautiful ambiance. The Muhammara with pita was delicious! As well we had the sourdough and butter which had a delicious crunch and warmth to it. As well the blue crab cake had a nice kick to it with the parsley and pickled veggies. I had the shoes k-town steak with the rice porridge and they do not take it light on the chili oil so make sure you are a fan. Rouge recently transformed itself into a gorgeous idyllic jungle-like escape. Upon entering, it is like you are transported to Tulum, but in the comfort of Studio City. The décor and intricate design to detail from the ceilings, to the couches and tables are magical. A space that satisfies all, meaning you have hookah to smoke, cocktails to sip and amazing food to indulge in. My go to drink was the Spicy Passionfruit Margarita. Two of my favorite things in one, the flavors perfectly compliment each other. Espresso martini is ALWAYS a good option. For those wanting a bit of a refreshing drink the Tulum Tonic is the one for you. Note: these are all made with SABE. So they're smooth! Each dish in the menu is clearly very well thought out and tastes remarkable. You will leave quite impressed regardless of what you try. My notable favorites are as follows: Starters: lebneh, shishito peppers, crispy Brussel sprouts (and I say this not liking Brussels,) and definitely the bone marrow. The charred octopus is delightful. The dish that stole the night was the Shoes K town BBQ, the rice porridge with chili oil is soft and creamy with a hint of spice, and the hanger steak just melts in your mouth. For dessert, the olive oil cake was a hit with my friends. The service here is also very impressive. They are very helpful with recommendations, they are extremely attentive which is sometimes a hard find in LA. Let me just start off by saying the food is incredible from the apps to the entreès i'm severely impressed. I got the smash burger and the waffle fries. The burger is to die for and the waffle fries are crispy and a great combo with the ranch and ketchup. The service was also impressive, our waitress was extremely nice and when asked about the food she showed us pictures and was happy to help us with whatever we needed. Saving the best for last the ambiance is straight vibes. They retracted the roof shade and seeing the night sky while throwing down a burger was something I didn't think I would be doing tonight. The music is also very nice and the lights are definetly eye catching. It's a cool spot to come with friends and even family. She literally made the best craft cocktail that I couldn't stop ordering. It's called the "what's up doc" and the name is what caught my attention and then once I read the ingredients and it had fresh carrot juice i was sold! And it tasted like perfection. Valet parking $15- worth every penny in studio city. The inside of the restaurant is a vibe, beautiful decor! Menu isn't very large- I had the chicken which was really delicious. The skin and potatoes were crispy and great flavor. Friends for the vodka pasta- it definitely is spicy but super flavorful. We had to get dessert of course- crème brûlée was perfect, the sampler was a crowd pleaser except the brownie we thought needed to be warmed up. Service was excellent! Visited this evening with a friend after dinner nearby and learned they're no longer serving hookah! What a bummer. But it didn't totally detract from our experience. It was our first time back since the remodel and the entire place looks gorgeous. They definitely spruced up and created a tasteful, aesthetic experience. My only qualm is that it was extremly humid inside and their customers could benefit from some sort of fan installation, maybe ceiling fans, to better circulate the air, especially at the top sections. The servers were very friendly and attentive. Great service as always. We only ordered iced coffees but we'll be sure to revisit for the food since they're changing the menus soon and their food has historically always been great. read more

I usually learn my lesson and won't go back to the same spot if I didn't have the greatest experience.. but this time I didn't. Here's my biggest complain, the prices but I'll explain that later..!! My girlfriends and I were looking for a fun night out when I suggested this place since it's still somewhat in the valley and the place itself is really pretty. I had read on the website that they no longer serve hookah which wasn't a problem although we wish they still did. I reserved to come here on a Thursday around 7 pm (early, I know!). We arrived about 7:30 pm and the ENTIRE place was empty. There was literally one group of girls sitting near the bar so of course we had to be seated right next to them. Like imagine probably 50+ tables being empty.. so we were already a bit shocked and disappointed.. Food 3/5 We didn't really wanna eat here because I remember the portions being small and the food being average compared to the prices!! I asked for the whipped hummus and the server shared that their menu changes seasonally so they no longer have that. Ordered the fries (like last time), and it was the same bland flavor.. but hey for $9, I'll take it. Drinks 5/5 My friends had red wine ($15) & espresso martini ($16) which they seem to enjoy. I ordered a lychee martini mocktail which was pretty much canned lychee juice but it was still good and for $10, I was happy with it! I was also getting really sleepy by 9 pm so I ordered an iced vanilla latte ($10) and that was surprisingly great! Service 5/5 Considering that the whole place was empty, of course we expected fantastic service and the gentleman serving us was patient and attentive as needed. Ambiance & parking 3/5 You can see all the pretty photos of this place and it actually looks like the pictures except that the place will most likely be fully empty.. We had such a hard time finding parking on the street and went around 2-3 times before we gave up and did valet ($10, cash or venmo). Price 2/5 This is where this place gets me heated.. most foods on the current menu are $20+ and keep in mind, their food portions are SMALL! The wine was not even half a glass full.. my iced coffee was delicious but $10.50 for an iced vanilla latte??! to top it all off, they charge 18% gratuity and 3.5% service charge.. so we paid almost $120 for one fries, 1 mocktail, 2 wine glasses, and 2 espresso martinis... which is kinda insane. We didn't even eat any actual food because we were here for only 2 hours so if you're coming here for "dinner", you're gonna spend a lot! Also, if your prices are THIS high, valet should be a complimentary service considering that he literally parked our car on one of the meters 10 steps away.. I think this place is better off opening Thursday-Sunday from 7 pm til midnight because it's really sad how empty it is.. P.S. I really wish they would remove photos from before the renovation and any hookah photos so people wouldn't get all confused! read more

Such a cute spot to have dinner. The ambiance is great and dim lighting that sets the mood. I made reservations for a Friday night but it was pretty empty. We started with the lychee martinis that were delightful. We also tried the potatoes, sourdough, and the vodka pasta. I asked for the potatoes without bacon and they did lack on some flavor that I feel would come from the bacon. The pasta was very good and the sauce was creamy. The Decor in here was so beautiful and aesthetically pleasing! Our server was okay but the cocktails didn't pack a punch. I felt like I was drinking juice for the most part. We were all surprised that with the exception of the Expresso Martini you couldn't taste the alcohol in the drinks. If you're paying around $12-16 a drink I would hope to at least taste or feel something after 3 drinks & I sure did not. Their food was delicious however! We really wanted to love the food and drinks here since the ambiance is beautiful. Our drinks were weak. I got the passionfruit margarita and expect the fruitiness but it tasted like it barely had alcohol and with watered down juice. We got the Uni toast, bone marrow, broccolini and steak frites. The food although with good presentation wasn't memorable. We somewhat enjoyed the appetizers but the sweet onion jam or marmalade with bone marrow overpowered the bone marrow but the the most disappointing dish was the steak and frites entree that was entirely overly salty. The sauce, the fries and the meat was so salty we didn't finish this dish. We know when we eat out the dishes will always be more salty for flavor enchantments but this was just unnecessary. We heard our neighbor comment about their pasta being drowned in cheese and whatever they got was "too salty" as well. We glanced over and it was covered in shaved cheese where you couldn't even see what type of pasta it was. This place charged fine dining prices but didn't have the flavors to match. Maybe less is more. It felt very average. read more

This place has been tastefully remodeled. What an upgrade! They transformed from a hookah spot to a Tulum vibed hidden gem. I've tried most of the menu (Chef Dro is constantly bringing in seasonal items), and I haven't been disappointed by any plate. The Beets by Dro salad is one of my favorite salads, it's just so refreshing. I think I drool daily from the bone marrow day dreams (not kidding). The drinks are on point! My go to has been the passionfruit margarita, but you really can't go wrong here.
