We started with the mozz sticks which were very good (although they were served with ranch instead of marinara, which was a little strange). We then got a margherita pizza...it wasn't really "pizza," but it was still good. It was more like cheesy bread. It was very doughy. Wifey and I decided to take a trip up north for the day! Of course we ended Getting hungry after our 3 hour drive. There wasn't really much open when we went and nothing that seemed appealing. We ended up trying this place out and it wasn't too bad. I ended up trying a personal pizza. My wife did the meat ball sandwich and it was good. One thing that wasn't good tho were the mozzarella sticks. So don't try those. Service was good but at first it doesn't seem like they were very friendly. It's no secret that food in Cambria is expensive. Stay on Moonstone beach and they'll gouge you. Places in town are pricey, and sometimes you just need a respite from big dollar meals. This place was great for that. Solid pizza, beer, burger. No complaints other than I can't buy a cinnamon roll on Sunday morning as I go home. Thanks for a good meal. read more

My wife and I were staying in the area. We were looking for take out so we could savor the sunset on our balcony. We decided to get take out pizza and we are both happy that we chose to pick up pizza at JBJ's. We were there at around 7 pm on a Monday night and the restaurant was about three quarters full. We sat at the bar while we waited for our pizza. They have a nice selection of beers on tap, and I enjoyed one while we sat at the bar. One of the owners noticed us looking at the collection of cartoons on a bulletin board and he gave us his collection to look through. That was a nice gesture and a fun way to pass the time, reading through about 9 years of political cartoons! From our vantage point, I could tell that the family owned and ran the restaurant, working hard to provide good service to everyone. Now, the pizza... We ordered the vegetarian. It was outstanding! It was loaded with high quality vegetables with just the right amount of cheese. My wife and I both commented on how fresh the veggies were and they they were not cooked down too much. We've passed this place many times, but never ate here before. Then, on a Monday when we were looking for lunch, we were debating between this place and another one nearby. When I read the menu posted outside and saw rotisserie chicken, that cinched it for me, and we went inside. I should have been suspicious when I entered the nearly empty restaurant at 1:00 p.m. and it did not smell like food - no scent of rotisserie chicken or pizza. Yet, I was famished and placed my order. When the rotisserie chicken was served, I could see before even tasting it that it was not fresh. The shrunken, dark brown skin was stuck to the dry meat. I used my fork to remove a piece of thigh meat and no juice oozed out. One taste and blech! It tasted days old and reheated. I asked the server when it was roasted and she said she thought it had been made that morning, so I asked if she could ask the kitchen staff to replace my chicken with some that had been made that morning. Turned out they didn't have any fresh ones, so she handed me the menu and suggested that I order something else. Meanwhile, my husband said he only wanted half of his pizza (medium size), so I decided to eat that instead. The Mediterranean pizza had a thick crust and looked great. There was a generous amount of artichoke hearts and lots of cheese. However, appearances can be deceptive. The crust tasted like stale soda crackers mixed with cardboard. The sauce was flavorless without any hint of garlic or herbs. The artichoke hearts were canned (not my favorite) and the cheese barely had any flavor. It was edible and filling, nothing more. The decor is like a weird western theme but whatever. It's good pizza and family owned. I have been coming here once a year for years. My mother taught me not to say anything if I couldn't say something nice. But in this case, I believe it's important to warn about a certain approach to choosing a restaurant and ordering a meal: if the big sign says "pizza" don't order the chicken and burger. I am going to be kind and assume that the pizza is delicious. However, we ordered the rotisserie chicken and a bacon cheeseburger and both were mediocre - and that includes the fries. The service was slow but friendly enough and the place was clean and seemed safe. But the tab ($37) would have been hefty for a good meal. So the fact that the food we got was less than wonderful only makes the chunk we shelled out hurt more. read more

Whenever we go from LA to Cambria, we stop by JBJ's. Our favorites are the Jodi's special pizza and potato skins. Potato skins are baked with bacon, cheese, and veggies and they're sooo good. The pizza dough is soft and fluffy yet crispy on the bottom. It's a pizza place, so obviously pizza + appetizers would be best. People who order a ham sandwich or chicken are probably in the wrong place =P read more

Due to my husband getting sick right after we arrived in Cambria, I had to cancel our reservation to "Indigo Moon" and order takeout/delivery. That's a negative! Ordered a large garden salad and a large veggie pizza, then added pepperoni. Total was just over $50 for delivery to our hotel on Moonstone Beach drive. The salad was just lettuce, tomatoes, red onion and green pepper. Needed cheese and olives to be worth $9. The ranch dressing was good. The pizza toppings seemed to be good quality but the crust tasted like a frozen pizza from the market, which made the whole pizza very dry and lack luster for sure. Will not order from here again. We're in town during the Covid-19 drama and our normal dinner restaurant is closed. read more

My husband and I happened upon this place as we wanted pizza and we are so glad we did! We ordered the personal Herm's T Crust and the Garlic Chicken pizza on gluten free crust (they only have the medium size for GF pizzas). I usually stick with ordering just pepperoni, but decided to venture out and try the Garlic Chicken. Also I don't normally eat pizzas with white sauce as I prefer red sauce. So happy I did ordered this pizza because it was absolutely delicious! It is also so great when the GF crust is flavorful. Definitely would recommend especially for those gluten intolerant. Best onion rings EVER...in the history of EVER! The dinner salad is fresh and generous. We come here every time we're in Cambria.

So they had a sign outside for cinnamon buns which sounded good to me so I went inside. The place is 25% clutter, 25% kitchen, and only 50% dinning area. Not a cool kind of clutter either. Just old clutter. The pizzas that I saw coming out of the kitchen looked excellent so I changed my mind and ordered a personal size pizza with artichoke hearts, spinich, and sun dried tomatoes. The pizza looked great but lacked flavor. The dough tasted factory made and all the topping were of poor quality or maybe just old. Either way, I would not eat here again. Service was polite but very slow. Seats were not comfortable. I would not recommend this place. The pizza was beautiful though. read more

For $27 I would rather have Round Table... Came here one weekend during a random roadtrip. We had gotten a recommendation from someone and figured driving an extra couple of hours for some good pizza would be worth it but boy were we wrong. The pizza is pizza, like any other, but very unimpressive to even be considered over a fast food chain. The toppings were stingily dotted on the many tiny slices. Despite ordering 4 toppings, some slices didn't even possess one of the four, and it seemed that sausage was on premium because there was hardly any. The sauce is bland, the crust (though touted as homemade on the spot) was cardboard and seemed premade/frozen like Totinos or Tombstone, and the toppings were kinda meh in addition to there being so little. In addition, saw the day old cinnamon buns...felt like some sugar but for the grand total of $30 for a sub-mediocre pizza and old c bun...not even worth it in the least. I'm writing my review as I drive away, slightly humbled. (Ps I'm not the driver ;))... Made a pit stop in Cambria for gas and stopped at the pet store on the corner , then we smelled this delicious aroma of what we assumed was pizza. So we decided to grab a bite. We looked at the menu on the wall outside and decide on a pesto nibbler pizza. It states it has pesto, mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes, goat cheese. Walk in- first impression. Meh. ... it looks cheesy. There are a few other patrons, mostly weary looking travelers and families with kids. It's pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon. The decor is cowboy-ish/ saloon type. Obviously I'm too fancy for my own good (smh). We head to the bar and the disinterested gentleman behind the bar tells us we can sit wherever we want. So we sit next to the window facing the street- at least there's a view. We order the pizza, a glass of red house wine and a Snapple. I literally said " this pizza is probably gonna suck." the server brought out the wine and Snapple, and after what seemed like forever ( but probably more like 10-15 min) the pizza arrived and was slapped on the table with 2 napkins and a smile... It was surprisingly really good! This pan- like pizza was piled with cheese that was really gooey and stretched to stay attached to the mass when u pulled off a piece. The pesto was in good proportion, with a surprise tomato every few bites or so, the goat cheese was evident while not overpowering. We really enjoyed the pizza and I happily ate my words. Lesson learned to not judge a book by its cover ;) if you happen to be in the area I recommend the pizza! read more

After a small breakfast on the road and two tours at Hearst Castle while snacking on a small bag of trail mix, we stopped through Cambria to get a small bite to eat to tide us over until dinner. This pizza place looked like the perfect spot as they had pizza and more, beers and great ambiance. I ordered one of their special pizzas with pineapple and jalapeno peppers. Seemed like an interesting combination and it was *really* delicious! So tasty that I think I ate more than I planned to! My sister ordered the potato skins and she thought they were pretty good. There was a salad bar and some very interesting decor on the walls to pass the time while waiting for our food. The service was quick and our server was totally on the ball. She was really nice and came back to check on us several times despite being the only server there while it was starting to get busy.
